8: ZODIAC CONSTELLATIONS The ancient Greek Zodiakos, or Zodiac, is a division of the celestial sphere into twelve equal parts; each one containing a specific group of stars with a mythic association called a constellation. Ancient Greeks used the constellations for sailing navigation, time keeping for seasonal agricultural practices like planting and harvesting crops, mythic storytelling purposes, and astrology practices. Hellenistic Astrology, taking influence from the Babylonians and Egyptians, sought meaning in the zodiac signs and how they influenced a person’s character based on the position of the sun when they were born. They also used this practice for divination, providing guidance and predictions for the future. Let’s take a look at the twelve Zodiac constellations and their mythic tales. 1.) Aries (March 21-April 19) represents the flying golden ram sent by the gods to save the royal children Phrixus and Helle from sacrifice, and whose fleece later becomes the quested prize for the Argonauts. 2.) Taurus (April 20-May 20) represents the bull which Zeus transformed into to seduce Europa, and is linked to the Cretan Bull and the myth of the Minotaur. 3.) Gemini (May 21-June 21) represents the twins Castor and Pollux, sons of Zeus and Leda, known for their inseparable bond and heroic deeds. 4.) Cancer (June 22- July 22) represents the crab sent by Hera to distract Hercules during his battle with the Hydra, later placed in the sky by Hera as a constellation. 5.) Leo (July 23- Aug. 22) represents the lion, representing strength and kingship, associated with the Nemean Lion defeated by Hercules. 6.) Virgo (Aug 23- Sept 22) represents the maiden, often linked to the goddess of agriculture and fertility, such as Demeter or Persephone. 7.) Libra (Sept 23- Oct 23) represents goddess of justice Astraea, daughter of Themis, who carries the scales of justice. 8.) Scorpio (Oct 24- Nov 21) represents the scorpion sent by Artemis or Gaia to kill Orion 9.) Sagittarius (Nov 22- Dec 21) represents the centaur archer, often identified as the wise and skilled Chiron. 10.) Capricorn (Dec 22- Jan 19) represents the sea goat Aegipan, who aided Zeus in his fight against Typhon. 11.) Aquarius (Jan 20- Feb 18) represents the cupbearer of the gods, Ganymede, who was abducted by Zeus and placed among the stars. 12.) Pisces (Feb 19- March 20) represents the two fish, Aphrodite and Eros, who transformed to escape the monster Typhon.

That Playlist, Explained
Tumblr media
The main focus of this playlist is to function as some sort of soundtrack for the cricket tournament on Weston’s arc. I’m not entirely sure how much the songs are historically accurate (aka “was this composition bopping in the local victorian theaters of that time (1889)?”) but let’s work with what we have: my passion for classical music.
Now my initial expectation was writing down the compositions names and writing what was my plan by choosing them… and somewhere after Pomp and Circumstance I had completely lost the plot and just begun narrating/summarizing the chapters. But the actual meanings are at the end if you want to skip it!
★ [Spoilers for the end of the arc!!] ★
1. Giselle: Act I - Entrée du Prince (Prince’s Entrance), by Adolphe Charles Adam [1841]
We open with the “Prince’s Entrance” at the ceremony of June 3rd in Weston, where the house representatives are yet to be presented. This is our little intro before the great show!
2. Pomp and Circumstance: March No.1, by Edward Elgar [1901]
Now enter the houses and their teams!
“Their overwhelming physical prowess and teamwork are second to none… absolute champions! Top of the World: the Green Lions, the Knights!”
“Captivating spectators with their elegant plays…  a garden of fine plays! Brilliant Eden: the Scarlet Foxes, the Dramaturges!”
“The House team, they say, throw their opponents into confusion by unpredictably tricky plays… a swarming of specters! Ghost Legion: the Violet Wolves, the Monk Sages!”
“They aim for an opportunity to win the championship with their strategic game plans… attack of the cornered rats! God-Only-Knows: the Sapphire Owls, the Academics!”
So come and enjoy for the ceremony of the Inter-house Cricket Tournament of 1889 is at the heights of its fire.
3. The Planets, Op. 32: 4. Jupiter - the Bringer of Jollity, by Gustav Holst [1914]
The first game is Sapphire Owls vs Scarlet Foxes. It’s epic, it’s joyful and we’re off to an impressive start with Soma’s cricket abilities, Edgar’s ~Crimson Rose Tornado!~ and Harcourt being himself.
The game is impressive and it seems like everything is going in favor for the Scarlet Fox house…
4. The Four Seasons: Winter, by Antonio Vivaldi [1723]
… until it wasn’t. With a chilling sensation that creeps even the most sensible regions of one’s stomach, Bard’s horrendous meat-pie and Ciel’s plan dominate the game and guarantee the first victory for the Sapphire Owls!
5. Swan Lake: Act III - Spanish Dance, by Pyotr Illych Tchaikovsky [1877]
Going to the other side of the campus, a match between the Green Lions and the Purple Wolves. Cheslock makes a great move with his Rushing Violet Vapour — Purple Burnout!! and it’s highly effective until Herman hits it back. Victory to the Green house! And the cherry on top is… whatever the hell Gregory is doing on the field. Art goth kids, I swear to God…
6. Sun and Earth: Scene IV - “Winter” Polka, by Josef Bayer [1888]
Ciel gives his team a motivational speech: “Let’s win this! For us and for the Red House too!” (oh my, what a gentle boy!).
Now it’s official: the finale, Lions against Owls! But that will take a little while, so rest yourself and enjoy the show!
7. Radetzky March, by Johann Strauss I [1848]
Sebas… I mean, Master Michaelis puts his cheering orchestra in place to cheer for the Owls. And things seem to be going pretty well for the Owls, as they manage to hit the ball and mark the first points. There’s a flashback of Ciel explaining their strategy: every strong chord from the march, it’s a cue for the ball that’s coming!
8. L’Arlésienne Suite - No.2: 4. Farandole, by Georges Bizet [1872]
Here comes Edward for the bowl! He applied Cheslock’s move (Rushing Violet Vapour — Purple Burnout!!) and made a hit. And also cuts to Edward’s life flashback~ He doesn’t hold back, he doesn’t lose hope! Edward puts effort in everything he can do to come a little close to the geniuses he admires — even if Herman recognizes that this is no mid Midford on the field…!!
9. Concerto For 2 Violins in A Minor, L’estro Armonico: I. Allegro, by Antonio Vivaldi [1711]
And on the other side of the field, enter the Headmaster and exits Sebastian from the orchestra. But unfortunately this left the Blue House in a bad spot without its musical cues and “cheering”... that’s it until Ciel makes up a new strategy! Now there’s something wrong with the Green House players — hm, and we’re informed that Sebastian thought it would be a good idea to invite Lau?
10. The Nutcracker: VI. Chinese Dance, by Pyotr Illych Tchaikovsky [1892]
Oh. So that’s why. A Surprise Brazen Harem of Woman!! — Ciel, or rather, Lau’s move for the Blue House. And the poor owl boys and their even poorer eyesight don’t even have a clue on what’s going on. That’s it… until Maurice raised a cry about their strategy. Time for a new plan, Ciel!
11. La Campanella, by Niccolò Paganini [1838]
And Sebastian is still desperately trying to find the running Headmaster!
While at that, a flashback reveals Ciel had news instructions for the Owls team. In a complex physics dynamic that’s too complicated to be summarized here (without copying a whole paragraph from the manga, that is), Lawrence makes a hit. You can see all Blue House players from here, in a new move: The Sword in the Stone~!!
12. Dance of the Goblins, by Antonio Bazzini [1852]
Now it’s Ciel’s time to bowl again — and Sebastian is on the search. And Ciel’s ball trajectory is… well, physically questionable against all laws of nature… but it’s within the rules, so shut up.
13. Pictures at an Exhibition: The Great Gate at Kiev, by Modest Mussorgsky [1874]
The field complains about the foul nature of this move but Herman comes to the Blue House’s defense: “for the owl has come with might and main to hunt the lion”! (in his words)
14. 1812 Overture, by Pyotr Illych Tchaikovsky [1880]
But Ciel’s trick is still troublesome for a lot of Green House players, in a matter of mind manipulation and Over-the-Edge Tactics!! Devilish, indeed. Terrific, also. Now is Edward on the bat and he managed to make a six — now it’s on Lawrence’s hands.
And later is in the… air? BUT NO! The ball has fallen directly into the wicket?! So Lawrence was literally up to something! — the field crowd melts at the sight. It’s the ~Hunter in the Dark~~!, sneaky and deadly as an owl. Now enters Herman in all his glory and preparation. Brain vs Brawn, afterall! The discussion of generations of human genes!
Lawrence throws but Herman takes the hit epicly, to the point of throwing it back so hard it could have BLOODY DESTROYED someone’s head in the crowd. That’s: Sword Excalibur!!
At last, Ciel gives a pep talk to Lawrence to regain his confidence in himself and the game for the Blue House. Winning or losing… may he bowl without any regrets.
(pls put on 9:40 from here)
In another epic set of panels — that’s it, scenes — Lawrence bowls one more time… but oh no, Herman accidentally hits Ciel while preparing to bat. As other Green House player comes to the field, Ciel seizes his eye on the ball and ends up throwing it right into the wicket! Umpire and it’s out!
The match is over: VICTORY to the Blue House! (put music on 12:30)
As if imaginary canons blow their shots into the distance, every single student on the field comes together to jump Ciel onto their shoulders. Finally, after so much effort and time, the Sapphire Miracle happens yet again! And by the hands of a second generation of Phantomhive? Incredible! One hell of a winning match!
And here comes Master Michaelis to rescue a wounded Ciel from his team’s hands to receive treatment. But the boy is the most happy about his house winning and finally being recognized as capable as anyone else. So sweet, this little boy! An absolute angel in disguise had come for the Blue House’s cause…!!
15. Devil’s Trill: III. Allegro assai, by Giuseppe Tartini [1713~1740]
… well, that was the expectation.
Sebastian treats Ciel’s wound while a little bit of explanation unfolds. They really said “fake it until you make it”, all in good faith for the wellness of their investigation. Remarkable? Remarkable. Still in this moment of calmness before the party — and then, a storm — they discuss some important things.
16. Die Entführung aus dem Serail: Act 3. “Bassa Selim lebe lange”, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart [1782]
I guess you can see them now, the “Little-Lord Cox” and the boat with his teammates, sailing through the Thames river in front of Windsor Castle, while good ol’ Vicky watches the English youth bestowing another glory to the country’s name… and maybe falling straight into the water can be a good sign? It is the most elegant display of nerdy behavior if I say myself — I would probably get the same ending.
So may the festivities begin!
17. In the Dark of the Night (Epic Version), by Alala
Oh. What is this? Perhaps… do I hear a twist coming up? About the Headmaster? About the P4? Or maybe, there’s someone else behind in the darkness? Well, this is talk for another day. Don’t take yourself too seriously. You’re so under bloody pressure, mate!
★★★★★
Now, here, what the compositions are meant to be:
1. Giselle: Act I - Entrée du Prince (Prince’s Entrance), by Adolphe Charles Adam [1841]
Due to the regal and pompous status of Weston College, I thought using Giselle’s Prince Entrance would go very well as an intro.
2. Pomp and Circumstance: March No.1, by Edward Elgar [1901]
Pomp and Circumstance is a solemn and popular British march known throughout the whole world, especially for their movements. I thought it was only fitting that the houses would enter at such timing.
But it’s not historically accurate!
3. The Planets, Op. 32: 4. Jupiter - the Bringer of Jollity, by Gustav Holst [1914]
Holst’s Jupiter had this Scarlet Fox feel to it that I couldn’t simply ignore, so here we are! But it’s not historically accurate either!
The Four Seasons: Winter, by Antonio Vivaldi [1723]
Technically this was meant to symbolize the Purple House but as I was reading and it became that whole debacle about Bard’s pie, I thought Winter’s ominous sound would go better with it lol
Swan Lake: Act III - Spanish Dance, by Pyotr Illych Tchaikovsky [1877]
And this one is now symbolizing Purple House’s game. I wish we saw more of them…
Sun and Earth: Scene IV - “Winter” Polka, by Josef Bayer [1888]
Not a big meaning for this one. I think it was in my spotify favorites list and it sounded nice. Also it’s funny to think it comes before the main story lol
Radetzky March, by Johann Strauss I [1848]
This one actually appears in the manga/anime!
L’Arlésienne Suite - No.2: 4. Farandole, by Georges Bizet [1872]
I don’t understand much of Bizet but this also sounded nice and proper for this scene.
Concerto For 2 Violins in A Minor, L’estro Armonico: I. Allegro, by Antonio Vivaldi [1711]
Also no big plan for this one but it’s a nice intermission for the next big thing that’s about to happen.
The Nutcracker: VI. Chinese Dance, by Pyotr Illych Tchaikovsky [1892]
C’mon. Like… c’mon. Someone had to. With this context?? Obvious disclaimer that this isn’t actual Chinese instrumentalization or music. Funny enough, it’s a couple of years “futuristic” for the story, so also not accurate.
La Campanella, by Niccolò Paganini [1838]
I like La Campanella and it goes amazing with this scene.
But also, there were rumors at Paganini’s time that he had made a pact with the devil for his violin skills. Although it is theorized that probably his “mephistopheles-like” appearance and long fingers may be results of Marfan syndrome or Ehlers–Danlos syndrome — also a complicated lifestyle as a musician.
Dance of the Goblins, by Antonio Bazzini [1852]
I never heard of this one before but as I was listening (and obviously looking at the title), I thought it would fit perfectly with this situation. After all, if Sebastian is a hell of a butler, Ciel is one boy of a goblin.
Pictures at an Exhibition: The Great Gate at Kiev, by Modest Mussorgsky [1874]
Mussorgsky is very grandiose in his compositions, especially in the Pictures at an Exhibition, so I thought it fit Herman’s speech.
1812 Overture, by Pyotr Illych Tchaikovsky [1880]
This is a known battle overture with literal cannons with it and it screamed “that last part at Owls vs Lions game” with all its chaos, violence, epicness and victory at the end.
Devil’s Trill: III. Allegro assai, by Giuseppe Tartini [1713~1740]
It’s… almost self-explanatory by the title. But for those who don’t know, Tartini had a nightmare/dream once that the actual devil showed up to his, in his bed, to simply play the violin and made the most complicated, devilish-structured but perfect music on the instrument. Tartini spent the rest of his days trying to replicate the sound of his dream, “without success” in his words.
Die Entführung aus dem Serail: Act 3. “Bassa Selim lebe lange”, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart [1782]
It came like a nice addition since the next major arc, the Emerald Witch, is in Germany. Plus, it’s one of my favorite Mozart’s songs from the Amadeus movie — alongside Symphony 45 Allegro, Dies Irae and Confutatis.
17. In the Dark of the Night (Epic Version), by Alala
No, think of another slender, sinister and bony-like guy we have seen before…

Letter from Princess Victoria of Hesse to her brother Ernie, written when she, Irena and Ella were in Switzerland in 1882.
"My dear Erny, l am going to send You a long letter about all we have been doing here, these 2 days — we leave to-morrow morning for Milan. Yesterday we went right round the Lake Vierwaldstatter See, You know — in a large steam-boat. There were not many people on board, as the season is rather over. We started at 10 got to Fluhelen, the end of the lake at about 1, had some luncheon & then came back. It was very nice. The mountains are very fine — many already covered with snow & the scenery keeps changing as the boat turns. We went on the upper deck & sketched, walked about & looked at the people. There was a very tiny, dirty Professor & his tall, lanky wife — she had a red nose read her Badecker out, loud, like prayers at church, & ended by marching her poor little husband up & down deck hanging over him, arm in arm. Then there was what Irene calls a honeymoon couple, an ugly but pleasant looking dark girl in a brown newmarket who wrote in a note-book the size of Alix’ hand without the fingers & a little red man who yawned all the time. These got out at Tell’s chapel, a little building on the spot where Tell is supposed to have sprung from the boat. Lastly there was an other couple also English, who quarreled about a Tauchnitz-volume They did not care for the scenery & each wanted the book — of course the wife got the best of it. Today we went up the Rigi in all ease & comfort. By boat to Vitznau, by rail to the Kulm. The engine is small & strong & pushes up one carriage like a tram-car, pulling itself up by a tooth-wheel. It goes very slowly, though a good deal quicker than walking, & takes about % of an hour. You have a beautiful view of the lake & the hills round all the way up. Of course there was a thick fogg at the top. We could not even see the hotel from the station — so we only had some luncheon & came down by the next train. Going down takes longer. The train goes over a deep gully, with a rushing cascade at one place, & often along a precipice. At many places it is as steep as the old Jugenheim road almost. It shakes a good deal. We have been lucky in the weather, especially yesterday, when we had beautiful sunshine going & storm clouds coming back. You can’t imagine the beautiful coloring every-where. The lake is like the green you do the sea some-times & such hills as are covered with beeches are red, yellow, violet, any color You please. | send you two small ink-drawings | have copied from my sketches but as | am doing them by candle-light, | do not know if they will succeed. This afternoon we went to look at Thorwaldsen’s dying lion, just behind the hotel. It is very fine, but | was disappointed about it. The lion looks tame like a dog with the tooth-ache. He is so flat too. Perhaps this came from the light being so dull, that he had no shades at all. Herff is very happy, but would like us to run about all day long every where & have no luncheon besides — he thinks that quite unnecessary & has succeeded with us so far, that we took nothing litterally but soup, bread cheese & wine today on the Rigi. There were two little black Italian’s went up with us & who were very uncomfortable as they got into the mist. Also a young woman & a man in a fez who kissed each other [at] each turn, when they thought no one looking. Our neighbours here are a family consisting of a short fat father, a tall fat mother & 3 very flaxen-haired very, very fat daughters with double chins & no necks, they have a large balcony & come out in pairs hand in hand. They dislike our looking at them much. This hotel is very good. Nice rooms looking on the lake, good food, good beds and grinning waiters. The view from the balcony is be-au-ti-ful, You see | appreciate it. With love from the girls to you & all,
Your loving Vixen"

3, 5, 6, 13, 23 from the video game asks! :)
Thanks for the ask!
video game questions
3. 1-3 games you’ve played in the past 12 months that you really enjoyed
the first Pillars of Eternity game (as evident by how much I've been posting about it) is still great and I 100% recommend it, it is darker fantasy than Dragon Age and there are a couple of Yikes Moments close to the beginning, but you WILL love at least one of your party members and the writing is pretty great. also a lot of its soundtrack was used in season 2 of Critical Role, and there is significant vibe/theme overlap, so if you enjoyed that season you'll probably like something about POE1 (also there are a lot of voices from the cr cast in the game itself. Matt Mercer notoriously voices two(2) of your best friends party members)
Dragon Age: Origins! The OG. The reason I'm even on this website. I had a pretty major reset when I realized that I accidentally locked myself out of Zevran's romance and now I have to do the Sacred Ashes quest again, but once I get through it things will get fun again. I've had a lot of fun writing Kyana meta based on this playthrough earlier this year, and I'm sure I'll have more things to say when I GET OUT OF THAT TEMPLE
I started playing The Sims 4 between writing sessions during NaNo. I made an off-brand Evelyn and another household based on two very old OCs, and I was really invested in them for a while (to the point of considering making fanart of the second household). I stopped playing at some point, but I think that, like Stardew Valley, this is going to be a fun thing to come back to every once in a while.
(the first answer was already very long so I'm putting the rest under the cut)
5. Game(s) coming out that you’re looking forward to
I played the demo for GLITCHED: The RPG a couple of years ago and it's been on my Steam wishlist even since. I don't actually know what's going on with the game (I think it was announced that it would come out in 2023 and then it didn't?), but I really hope that it will come out eventually because the demo is A Lot of my favorite things packed into one game. Like, honestly, even if the game won't be out for a while, I think that the demo itself is a really fun experience.
also, despite everything surrounding Dreadwolf, I'm definitely looking forward to it! though somewhat concerned about actually running the game because I Do Not Think my laptop will be able to handle it.
6. A series you’ve enjoyed since your early days of gaming and still enjoy to this day whether it still has games coming out or is one you return to
.........I mean, this is very much a Dragon Age blog. DA:O was one of my first RPGs (Skyrim was the other) and Here We Are all those years later
13. Quick, name the first song from a game that comes to mind
I haven't actually played it yet, but Challenging A Queen from Stray Gods. I'm definitely going to play it, though, because this is another game that looks like it was made personally For Me. and this song absolutely rules (my favorite version is the first one they played in this video)
23. A “Wow” moment of awe
...technically I didn't play this one either, but I watched a full playthrough of Wandersong on youtube, and the final song sequence I can't really talk about without spoiling everything was. very. Emotional(TM)
also for a more somber kind of awe, I really like the ambience in Emprise du Lion in DA:I and the White March DLC's entire deal in Pillars of Eternity. in both cases the environment made me just kind of pause for a second and take it all in (actually, adding to the song thing, the Abydon's Shell soundtrack from The White March is haunting)

Kimi Ni Todoke Season 3 Episode 2 Review - Okinawa School Trip
This entire episode is about the school trip arc. The school goes to Okinawa and some relationships progress positively while others progress negatively. I do feel like this is a turning point for future events.
Tumblr media
While the main focus does seem to be on Sawakaze who are having nice moments together, Ayane and Chizuru get their moments too. I like that there are three perspectives of sorts and that it shows that while Sawako is the MC, the story is about high school life as a whole. I do have to say, Okinawa is very pretty. I’m not much of a traveler, but I wouldn’t mind visiting!
For Sawakaze, they got a lot of moments together. They were lovey-dovey and it made me grin from ear to ear because they are the cutest. I really liked the aquarium moments. I also really liked how Ayane was teasing Kazehaya so much from telling him about Sawako’s panties to teasing him about giving her free-of-charge jasmine tea. Seeing them do the painting together was cute too. Kazehaya is so down bad for her that he even wants her poorly painted Shisa lion sculpture. Everyone deserves a man like him. Anyways, the biggest moment between them is their attempted kiss scene that got interrupted by Ayane. Man, that was just plain mean. However, it does bring up a small strife as Kazehaya starts having his own internal conflicts about rushing things or taking things slowly.
For Ayane, her side of this segment is her accepting a confession from Mogi, a guy she accidentally bumped into, despite not being in love with him. In fact, Ayane hasn’t fallen in love with anyone before. All of the times she got boyfriends were because they confessed to her. She’s someone who’s looking for love and that’s why she’s always accepting confessions even if it’s selfish on her part. Unfortunately, Mogi is only going out with Ayane because he wanted to have sex with her. Ayane, while cool about the whole ordeal, breaks down crying alone because she only accepted his confession hoping that she’d genuinely fall for him one day. Fortunately, Kento was there to console her. Ayane is a very complex character and is actually one of my favorites in this story because of that. While she acts like a big sister to Sawako and Chizuru, she’s actually the youngest of the group with her birthday being March 3rd (In Japan, kids born from April 2 to April 1st of the following year are placed in the same grade). While age doesn’t really matter in her situation, it does show that she is a bit sensitive and fragile underneath her cool demeanor, showing that she is still a young girl at heart. This scene did help me ease my opinions of Kento a bit. However, I do feel as if Ayane’s character arc is her eventually falling for someone she cannot be with, which is hinted to be Pin due to their moments together. I honestly love the little irony if that were the case—the unobtainable girl who always accepts confessions in order to find love falls in love with she cannot have.
For Chizuru, her relationship with Ryu becomes a little awkward after the post-credit scene from the previous episode. I feel like Chizu is slowly becoming aware of Ryu romantically, but isn’t aware of it herself. She’s even avoiding him recently. Her story is that she had been in love with Ryu’s brother Toru, but Toru got a girlfriend who becomes his wife later on. While she was in love with an older childhood friend, her other childhood friend is in love with her. I always found childhood friends-to-lovers stories cute and Chizuru’s story with Ryu has always intrigued me because she’s so clueless yet so hilarious when it comes to Ryu. This time around, their silly interactions are no more as their relationship starts taking a more serious tone with Ryu getting a confession from a girl named Sae, but rejects her. Sae and her friends go up to Chizu to ask if she likes Ryu and if she doesn’t, she wanted to ask her to stay away from him. Like girl, who are you to dictate who Ryu hangs out with or not? Like, why the heck are you in a group? Don’t you know how strong Chizu is? Anyways, Chizu and Ryu’s relationship is a complicated one because she’s unsure of her feelings while Ryu is firm with his. I just hope that it develops more in later episodes.
Pin and Joe were mainly comic relief in this episode. Pin tries to flirt with the attractive tour guide but gets rejected at the end of the episode. Joe continues to be the constant third wheel and mood killer. Chigusa is also a bit of comic relief as she sneaks around and even made Pin take a picture of Sawakaze in her place, causing him to tease them both. Oh and Kurumi makes her first appearance in this season, but I heard that this is her only one… It’s nice to hear Aya Hirano voicing her again, though.
I can’t wait to see the aftermath of the school trip once they return back to Hokkaido. Will things change for the better or for the worse for the three girls? On a side note, I do think that Sawako should wear pants more often. She looked so cute in those capris. What are your thoughts on this episode?

8: ZODIAC CONSTELLATIONS
The ancient Greek Zodiakos, or Zodiac, is a division of the celestial sphere into twelve equal parts; each one containing a specific group of stars with a mythic association called a constellation.
8.) Scorpio (Oct 24- Nov 21) represents the scorpion sent by Artemis or Gaia to kill Orion
9.) Sagittarius (Nov 22- Dec 21) represents the centaur archer, often identified as the wise and skilled Chiron.

Top 8 Anime (That I've Seen) in 2022
Whew boy, I wasn't expecting last year to be such a whirlwind, but all that doesn't matter now when there's Weeb stuff afoot! For those who are unfamiliar, when I make an End-of-the-year list, I like to do so without handcuffing myself to JUST the releases of the previous year. If you are familiar, you guys know that I typically keep to the usual Top 10 (except that one year when it was 12), but as you can see, I only had time to fit in 8.
Rules:
- If an anime had already made it onto a previous list, a newer season can't make it on.
- I only keep to TV series, so no movies.
- No repeating franchises (i.e. if I saw two different Gundam shows in one year, I can only pick one).
- I'm skipping Honorable mentions this year.
8. Tales of Zestiria (2016)
Tumblr media
Definitely not my favorite Tales story, but BOY was this show pretty to look at. Ufotable is what Ufotable does, I guess. Truth be told, I couldn't get into the game that this anime is based on, so I figured that watching the anime would be easier. And it was!
7. Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out (2020)
Tumblr media
Ah, yes, one of those shows that upset Twitter. I thought this was an adequately told Rom-Com with our two leads having some decent chemistry together. Looking past the "controversy," it was a perfectly serviceable show.
6. Amagami SS (2010)
Tumblr media
This was my surprise of the year. This Slice of Life Romance accomplishes a rare feat amongst its peers: Every girl gets a happy ending! You see, our male protag starts out depressed and lonely, develops a relationship with one of the girls over a 3 episode arc, and then starts all over again. Not only that, but during each arc, the camera shows how the other girls are living their lives and they do just fine without him. Maybe I'm not phrasing it the way I want to, but it's just refreshing showing potential love interests living fulfilling lives without Protag-kun. It does, however, lose points for having some questionable moments with its high school cast of characters. Based on a visual novel btw.
5. Komi Can't Communicate (2021)
Tumblr media
I can't be the only one who rolls their eyes whenever a story about an average guy gains the affection of the most popular girl in school. I'm, of course, not rolling my eyes at the premise itself, but rather the quantity of stories like this. This story in particular saves itself by having our titular character stumble their way to success despite their crippling social anxiety. I find it both funny and endearing. I look forward to season 2!
4. Recovery of an MMO Junkie (2017)
Tumblr media
Speaking of season 2, I wish this anime had one. I may have mentioned this before about a different anime, but I do find it to be a breath of fresh air whenever we have protagonists who are actually adults. A nerd in their thirties looking for love? Couldn't be me 🙂
3. March Comes in Like a Lion (2016)
Tumblr media
I still don't know how Shogi is played, heck I don't even have a handle on Chess, but anyone who has ever seen March Comes in Like a Lion knows that's not why we're here. Again, not Shogi specifically, but knowing that people, regardless of age, have weight of some kind on their shoulders, it's such a shame that that weight is on a character so young. Expectations, anxiety, loneliness; all that can be overwhelming for anybody. I would definitely recommend anyone to seek this out. Bonus, it has music from Bump of Chicken!
2. Spy X Family (2022)
Tumblr media
I'm sure most of you guys have seen this. You know.
I'm sure there's still plenty of people who haven't seen this yet. It's Everywhere. You guys STILL know.
This show was the right amount of wholesome I needed last year!
1. Mushoku Tensei (2022)
Tumblr media
I would probably have to do some more thinking, but this might be my favorite isekai thus far. Has a well built world AND has utilized the whole reincarnation aspect better than most isekai anime. I would go into it more, but I think I'll make that its own post.
This was a bit late, but at least it's still January, right? Hopefully, I'll be in a better head space this year to make a full Top 10.
Make the best of this new year and stay safe out there.

Things that I love #6
Tumblr media
March comes in like a Lion
Or 3-gatsu no lion, how I originally knew it.
Anime series, 2 seasons and 44 episodes... correct me if I am wrong. I watched this series in one of my slumps. It was comforting. And a soft warning, even though if follows the ups and lows of a shogi player, you don't actually need to know how to play shogi to enjoy the show at all.
I tried to find out where could you watch it, but was unsuccessful. Sorry!
What is it about?
At 17 years old, Rei Kiriyama is a proffessional shogi player that lives alone. Existing mostly as a human machine, all he does is practicing shogi, going to class and repeat. Drowning in a deep deression, he is resigned to live what has been served in his life, but life keeps going and small rays of hope keep on sneaking in his reality in the form of three lovely sisters, Akari, Hinata and Momo.
Tumblr media
Reasons I like it
The openings and endings are incredible.
The imaginery is astonishing and doesn't get you out of the story. It helps you to understand better the characters and convey their feelings. And they do it with an ample range of different styles.
This one is personal. When I was 10 or so I was bullied at school. I still remember the rage and sadness of it. So, there is a bullying arc at some point. When I finished watching it, I felt relieved. Finally, someone has got it right. Someone has seen and convey what I had lived when I was 10 and I didn't have the words or the maturity to explain it.

Hi! Hi! It's me again! Loved your previous answer! Stephan and Gray are truly made for each <3
Also if you don't mind I'd like to know which manhwa/manga are your favorites? And which underrated manhwa or anime would you recommend is a good read/watch?
Thanks and have a good day!! (Guessed it might be day where you are since our time zones seem to match. It was pretty late where I live too when I sent the previous ask😅)
Hi anon! Yup, it's day for me too, hehe.
Fav mangas:
Pandora hearts (i actually own physical copies of this one; if I were to rank my favs, this would take the first place. Great worldbuilding for a fantasy story, great characters, and the end just left me in tears) completed
Witch hat atelier (started reading it not long ago, and just loved it! I adore the magic system here and the concepts that this story explores are also immensely interesting) monthly updates
Frieren: beyond journey's end (a very melancholic fantasy story, I loved the atmosphere and the characters; and the artstyle was also great)
The apothecary diaries (one of my fav main characters and a great detective-ish storyline + palace intrigue + setting in ancient china) but oh my god are updates slow
Adabana (a very dark story about sexual abuse, murder and just angst in general. Nearly all men here, except for one, are trash. I guess this has an interesting potrayal of female rage and I'm pretty sure that the main heroines loved each other) completed
Fav manhwas and recs:
Duty after school (one of my first favs, has a very interesting artstyle and storyline. It's, hm, humans vs aliens war, but focuses on the characters and their relationships. And, eh, they are all high schollers) completed
Annarasumanara (actually has a k drama adaptaion, beautiful love story, just vibes no plot) completed
Hand jumper (has a very interesting fantasy concept with a morally grey and very smart mc, who is also not op) on hiatus
The weight of our sky (a story inspired by real events in 1969 kuala lumpur malaysia, emotionally gripping and also made me cry) completed
And ofc weak hero ;)
They are all available on webtoon btw. And I would say that half of them are criminally underrated
Oh and i also have the guilty pleasure of reading all those villainess reincarnation manhwas. Tho i never finish them 😅. The only ones which i can kinda recommend are Your Throne, Raeliana, Who made me a princess.
Underrated anime recs (not sure if these are underrated, but anyway):
A place further than the universe (slice of life, a nice story about chasing dreams) 13 episodes
Death parade (have no idea how to describe this 😅 interesting concept and great execution?) 12 episodes
March comes in like a lion (a story about a shogi prodigy; focuses more on internal struggles that actual shogi. I'd say the season 2 is better that the first) 2 seasons, 22 episodes each
Magi (typical fantasy story with great animation and character design. Keep in mind that it's not finished, and won't get a continuation any time soon) 2 seasons, 25 episodes each + a prequel
Whoa, that took a long time 😳, thanks for the ask, i had so much fun making this list, hehe
Have a nice day, anon!
