Is the book any good? I've been thinking of getting it because it's Marie Lu but I'm not really sure if I want to. I'm genuinely curious

Hmmmmm so far it feels really good (but the last time I picked it up was in March during spring break so I don’t remember muvh) but the content’s really interesting (plus Sydney is kinda like Jax??) so yea you can try it out if you want

Tho if you want to try more Marie Lu I also suggest legend series or Batman:night walker (for the similar themes), those are my favs

Tho Skyhunter duology is also really good (I haven’t read tye so I don’t got any comments on that but from what I remember, also pretty good) Kongdom of back was pretty sweet lol

In summary she’s a really good author lol (I kinda worship her if you can’t tell already ummmm but yeah)

i personally LOVED this duology (anything marie lu writes is pure gold)! i thoroughly enjoyed emika chen, the story’s protagonist and fearless hacker who makes money as a bounty hunter. as i stumbled upon the chapter where emika hacks into the warcross games— a virtual reality video game— i was nervous about the world building. it can often be tricky describing virtual reality but lu did a fantastic job. the imagery was phenomenal and helped to create an interactive atmosphere that in reality is more dangerous than it appears. i found myself completely immersed in new warcross worlds with fantastical creatures through the span of both books. another aspect i appreciated was the diversity featuring characters of different ethnicities and sexualities providing inclusivity. i definitely recommend this book to fans of sci-fi and lovers of marie lu. lu’s writing is addicting and this duo proves that. these books are fast paced, include elements of mystery, and have something for everyone.

as a HUGE fan of the Legend series, I thought I would investigate Marie Lu’s other ya novels to see how they compare. I was not expecting to completely fall in love with another series. I was absolutely blown away by Lu’s main character Adelina Amouteru. she’s an incredibly dark, passionate, bitter and ruthless character antihero who will do anything it takes to get revenge on those who have wronged her. she is the opposite of perfect and that is something i truly appreciate. I also appreciated Lu’s renaissance type world. from the tales of the gods in the realm to Fortunata Court and clothing such as Tamouran head wraps, i relished in the world created by Lu. i was really taken aback by the beautiful imagery and description. and of course, the conclusion to the young elites series was beautiful and bittersweet. i should have known that i would be left heartbroken. Marie Lu truly is the queen of heartbreak.
