A preview of Cult of Carnage: Misery #4
CULT OF CARNAGE: MISERY #4
A FIGHT AGAINST MADNESS! The new symbiotic monstrosity called Madness inadvertently forced Liz Allan to bond to the all-new MISERY symbiote, changing both her life and the world of the symbiotes FOREVER! Imbued with all the powers and personalities of the LIFE FOUNDATION SYMBIOTES (and more!), Madness is a symbiotic force unlike any other in the Marvel Universe. There is nowhere that Liz Allan can go where Madness cannot follow, no one she can ask for help who Madness cannot destroy and nothing she can do to stop the brutality of its onslaught.

The Amazing Spider-Man (1963) #28 — Stan Lee, Steve Ditko
Oh man, it's been a while since Spider-Man has fought in the dark.
Wished it lasted longer, but it's always cool to see him take advantage of his Spider-Sense like this.

Amazing Spider-Man #133 (Conway/Andru, June 1974). Pete, you can’t keep talking to yourself if you’re going to sneak into secure facilities. It’s embarrassingly bad spycraft. Luckily Mark Raxton’s doing you a solid this month — you don’t even have to outsmart him! He’ll jump into the Hudson and turn into steam, so you’ll have plenty of time to practice being a quiet spider.

Let's get real here, we ALL know Molten Man was supposed to be called the Metal Man right?
Tumblr media
Because in his intro appearance, his powers were not based in ANY WAY on melting,it was all about his metal skin.
It's even more awkward because in one scene the cops ask a schmuck "Have you seen a man with Molten skin?" HOW DOES HIS SKIN LOOK MOLTEN-its METAL, dammit-METAL!

i am not up to date on this spideysona au whats up with your sinister six roster?
OHHH this is a fun question!!
The Sinister Six isn’t fully pictured in my drawing, because it’s Civilian designs and Rhino is sort of… bonded to his villain outfit so.
But let me go over it!
Our leader of the Sinister Six and the one who brought them together is Otoha Octavius, the daughter of Otto Octavius. In this AU she is Doc Ock. Her father was a former Oscorp scientist who was laid off, and Otoha’s best friend Anna Maria Marconi passed away after taking money to participate in an experiment at Oscorp, so Otoha is pretty pissed off with Oscorp and Norman Osborn. Using her father’s old blueprints and designs, she creates Doc Ock’s arms and becomes Doctor Octopus. Otoha is based of Otoha Okutomiya from Octopus Girl, where she inhabits a body with Otto Octavius. But here she’s his daughter instead. And instead of Anna Maria being an Otto love interest, she’s Otoha’s.
Next up we have our first recruited member, Adrian Toomes or the Vulture! Adrian is a frail old man who is also a former Oscorp scientist who was laid off, in doing so he stole Oscorp tech that they were creating for the military and became the Vulture. In attempts to make Norman pay, he attempted to kidnap Harry Osborn, but failed when Spider-Man intervened. Adrian accidentally disabled another student, Peter Parker in the attack, and because of this and the events of the finale of arc 1, he quits the Sinister Six and turns himself in.
After this we have Aleksei Systevich, or the Rhino, a broke immigrant who was involved in an Oscorp military experiment for cash and was bonded to the Rhino armor. Which when Otoha informed him that the scientists were lying to him and didn’t actually know how to get it off? He went ballistic and was recruited to the Sinister Six by Otoha. He’s very much the muscle of the group and in the family dynamic I’ve built for the Six is sort of like Otoha’s older brother.
Our next recruit is Mac Gargan, or Scorpion. He’s very much an outlier here- a “we’ll work with him until we get our goal and then we’ll exile him” because Mac is actually a serial killer who stole the Scorpion armor from Oscorp. He doesn’t have a grudge against Norman or Oscorp or anything- he just enjoys human suffering and sought out Otoha and the others on his own. Everyone treats him like a weird distant cousin and are too scared to really say anything to him at all.
The second to last recruit is former VFX artist, Quincy Beck, also known as Mysterio. She’s been around for a while causing chaos, but it’s never really hurt anyone or been for a specific goal until Oscorp stole her technology she made for practical effects to use for the military. They distorted her holographic projecting tech drones into drones with weapons, able to create illusions to throw off opponents. Being completely opposed to the use of her tech in this way, as Mysterio she became violent towards Oscorp and was eventually recruited by the Sinister Six, where she took on a mother like role to Otoha. Eventually becoming so close to her that she’d be willing to abandon her own ideals just to protect her.
And our last member is Mark Allan, or the Molten Man. He was recruited during the middle of the first arc after an outburst. He’s yet another experiment of Oscorp and is unable to find a cure for his condition, becoming the Molten Man at any sort of emotion other than complete and utter numbness. He joined the Sinister Six after his brother, Spider-Man discovered his identity and he ruined his reputation at school, he had nowhere else he thought he could go. And he could get revenge on Norman Osborn in the process.
So that’s everybody! At least the first roster, a few of the members change out but I’m refraining from spoiling too much although it’s pretty easy to guess.

Look honestly? A much more sinister move on Harry’s part... cause now Pete has to spend every single day waiting for the other shoe to drop, wondering if today is going to be that day or not...

Just when you think you’re getting somewhere with someone down here, they turn on you!
Serves me right for giving the two loons at Neptune’s Bounty a benefit of a doubt even though I really didn’t want to.
Look, I already knew Dillon and Raxton were missing a couple of screws, that was clear when we first met them, but I was hoping we’d at least appease them with fulfilling their demands of taking pictures of spider splicers and that’d be enough to get them off our backs. But fuck me for having hope in the first place. Damn splicers…
Ugh. But we move on anyhow.. right after looting their stuff of course.
Heading for Smuggler’s Hideout. But before we do that, I must deal with another Big Daddy I saw a few rooms ago..
