Becoming Parents - Cassian x Reader
My train is running 20 minutes late so here’s some Cassian x Reader headcanons while I wait
Warning: slight mention of infertility, suggestive towards the end, not proofread…
You and Cassian were the last of the IC to fall pregnant and had felt torn between watching your friend’s happiness whilst dealing with the longing for a baby of your own
After decades of trying, the two of you sat down and talked it over, ultimately deciding that maybe having a baby just wasn’t in the cards for you and that the joy of playing the fun aunt and uncle would be enough
Despite deciding that you would stop trying, the sex never halted and, if anything, because even more frequent and experimental ;)
7 months later, you were at the River House helping Feyre with their new born when you sensed picked up on a change of scent
“Feyre, are you pregnant?”
“I better fucking not be after just pushing this one out!”
“Oh weird…”
You went back to playing with the babe, thinking nothing more of it until you looked up and found Feyre starting at you, a smile spread across face and eyes glistening with tears
“What? What is it?”
“Y/N… I think it’s you. You’re pregnant”
Her smile got even bigger as you stared at her in shock
“But we gave up, we thought it wasn’t going to happen”
“Clearly all that hard work paid off” she let out a laugh, wiping the tears from her face as you blinked back at her, still processing what was happening
“I’m pregnant?”
Feyre was nodding back at you then leaped over to give you a crushing hug as you felt tears slide down your face
“I have to go, I need to tell Cass…”
Feyre was up and already pushing you out the door, tears running down her own face
You winnowed to the house you and Cassian had lived in for the last 2 decades after deciding it was time to move out of the House of Wind and get a place of your own
You found a shirtless Cassian, still clad in training leathers with sweat glistening on his chest, in the kitchen putting lunch together
“Hi sweetheart, I thought you were spending the day with Feyre? Want me to make you a plate?”
He gave you a kiss on the cheek as he walked past
“Cass…” but you were at a loss for words, staring back at your mate in shock
You got a noncommittal “hmm?” in response as Cassian pulled out a plate for you and starting putting together some more food
“Cass… I’m pregnant”
He abruptly stopped what he was doing, spinning around to look at you, his face slack from clear shock
“You’re… what? Y/N?”
You nodded at him, a smile spreading across your face as you took a few steps closer and cupped his face
“Pregnant? You’re pregnant!” He must’ve noted the change in your scent and realisation hit
Before you knew it, Cassian had you in his arms, spinning your around at he let out a deep laugh
Once your feet were back on the ground, he peppered your face with kisses before kneeling in front of you to stare at your stomach
“Hi baby, I know we haven’t met you yet, but your mummy and I already love you so, so much”
He pressed a kiss to your stomach and lent his forehead against it, you felt him take in a deep, shaky breath as you ran your hands through his hair, tears falling down your face again
Cassian stood, cupping your face in his hands and starting into your eyes
“I love you”
Then he was kissing you, all while grinning against your mouth, his now shed tears mixing with your own
You pulled away, placing a soft kiss on his cheek
“I love you too”
“We’re going to be parents”
“We are”
“I love you”
“You already said that” but you couldn’t help the wide grin that spread even further across your face
Cassian pulled you into his chest in a tight embrace, nuzzling his head into the top of yours as you held him back just as tightly
You pulled away just enough to look up at him before bringing his face back down to your own, giving him another passionate kiss
“You know, just because I’m pregnant, doesn’t mean we can’t practice for baby number 2…”
Next minute, Cassian had you in his arms, walking you both towards your bedroom, your lunch and any other plans you had for the day long forgotten

Levi finally getting his happy end with (y/n) after the rumbling
Tumblr media
Pairing: Levi Ackerman x fem!reader
Word Count: 2k
Synopsis: When he met you after first stepping a foot at Marley, Levi didn't forget you until the very end. But while he thought you died through the rumbling, he meets you again for his happy end.
Warnings: this is the comfort I needed, I actually had to cry while writing this, not proofread because I wanted to publish this asap
Tags: @sanicsmut begging on my knees, please I hope you like this
You’ve been on his mind ever since he met you on that fateful day at Marley. So gorgeous that he couldn’t take his eyes off you, a smile so sweet it could melt even metal. Yes, you were so different from what he expected to find across that ocean, a truly pleasant surprise to say the least.
“Oh, you are quite small for a grown man!” you commented, giggling so effortlessly that Levi wasn’t able to even react to your rude comment.
“But to be honest, I’m a little small myself. Well, not all of us can be tall, right? Where are you from, stranger?”
“None of your business.”
His voice sounded harsher that anticipated, making your joyful face drop in an instant. Why…Why the hell did it even bother him to see you like that, that sad glow that formed in your eyes?
“I’m not from here”, he added.
“Oh, I see! Don’t worry about it too much, it’s like everywhere else!”
Oh, if you only knew how wrong that statement was.
His eyes landed on your right arm and the star that covered the sleeve of your blouse. Why would you wear such a badge? Upon closer inspection, he noticed your shattered clothing, the hem of your earth coloured dress completely torn.
Before Levi was even able to react two men ran into you, forcefully pushing your body into the dirt of the streets.
“Get out of the way, scum”, one of them hissed towards you.
Anger rose inside his veins immediately. You were just standing there, minding your own business. Why on earth did they push you?
“Watch your step”, his voice suddenly called towards the men.
“Please, it’s alright. Don’t get into trouble because of me.”
And then your hand rested against his shoulders, making his heart beat so loud that Levi swore you could hear it. What was this? Why did your little innocent touch turn him all flustered?
Something about you just seems different. No, despite the fact that it is so wrong, despite being here only for a mission, his mind wanders to you every free second.
Even though you might be dead by now.
“I will leave after tonight”, he announced into darkness, your moonlit features making it hard for him to focus on staying serious.
Your lip began to tremble, glossy eyes darting towards him.
“What? But why do you have to leave? You just arrived…”
“I came here because I have a mission to accomplish, (y/n).”
“But you will return when you’re done, right?”
The hopeful tone in your voice killed him from the inside. Oh, how much he wished he could just take you with him, how much he’d love to have more time with you. But this is simply not possible.
His cold eyes glared at you through the darkness, desperately trying to keep his composure.
“I might never return to this place, (y/n).”
You felt like someone pulled the ground from beneath your feet. Within the last few weeks, you learned that Levi’s hard façade isn’t more than a trick. No, in fact, he carries a character made of pure gold.
You started to like him.
“Then I’ll find you wherever you’ll go.”
And you did. You never missed to write him letters. Levi can’t help but wonder how you did that, your elegant handwriting following him through the darkness of the night, lighting up his mood despite the situation he’s in. Yes, he looked forward hearing from you every single day.
Until the rumbling started.
Until he didn’t receive any letters from you anymore.
It broke his heart, waking up from his coma with all that was on his mind being your stunning smile.
“Did I receive any letters from her?”
“You mean (y/n)? No, not until it all started. She lived in the northern area of Marley so it’s very likely that…”
His heart shattered into a million pieces, dead eyes staring into the distance. Your beautiful smile, that promise you gave him the night before he left. The thought of you getting trampled to death…
“Don’t say it.”
“Hey, maybe she did it somehow. (y/n) is a smart woman. I’m sure she found a way out.”
“Don’t be ridiculous, shitty four-eyes. She’s dead.”
He has seen it all, countless people died in front of his very own eyes. Why would it be different this time? Why shouldn’t you of all people be taken away from him? A little spark of luck, a minor ray of sunshine in this sheer darkness.
He leans back in his wheelchair, darkness consuming him all over again. You deserved so much better, your whole life was still ahead of you. In a world that never wanted you, you always kept your smile as bright as the sun. Despite the fact that they treated you like the dirt underneath their feet, despite how poorly the circumstances were, your smile beamed brighter than anything else.
“What would it give me to burry myself in sadness? I only have this one life, why not making the best of it?”
The best…
“Fuck!” he cries out, slamming a nearby book against the wall in frustration.
Why you? Why out of all the people, you are the one who had to lost her precious life? He never had the chance to tell you how he feels, how you turned his world upside down, that he survived for you.
Dear captain Levi (I love to call you that),
How are you? I hope your mission is going well and that you’ll return soon. I have some exciting news to share with you! After working so much over the last few weeks, I was finally able to buy myself a new dress! Although I wanted to get a white one because I know you love the colour, I bought a dark green one in honour of you. When you come back, we’ll be matching!
I miss you and our conversations late at night. Please tell me you and the others are okay.
In love,
(y/n)
That dark green dress he never got so see, the joy you fuelled inside of him despite being hundreds of miles away from him. God, how much he misses you. How much he fucking misses talking to you through the darkness of the night, to hear from the world through the unwavering veil of your optimism. What would he give to stretch out his hands after you for once, holding you tightly against his chest? It truly kills him from the inside, knowing he will never be able to hold your hand or kiss your lips tenderly, that you’ll never tell him old fairy tales anymore.
You were special. An angel in a world full of devils. Your word alone should have been enough to end every war in the blink of an eye. It definitely was enough to end the war inside himself.
“Captain Levi, will you assist me?”
“Stop calling me that, Onyankopon”, Levi mumbles, silently following the taller man into the heart of the city.
The war made the remaining 20% realize how precious being alive is only after their lives hanging on a thread. While the others carried on with their lives, Levi himself got stuck in this cursed city, the city he last saw you in. Returning to Paradis would mean giving up on you, giving up on the spell you put on him. And he simply can’t take it. Even though the whole town got destroyed by the merciless feet of titans, despite numerous people telling him than no one was able to escape, he always looked out for that dark green dress you described to him.
“Thank you”, a little girl giggles at him, eyes widen at the delicious sight of the lollipop in her hands.
All he can do is stare at the ground in front of her tiny feet with empty eyes. How nice it must be to have something to hold onto in times like these, after losing everything and everyone.
“Hey, can I get another one?”
“Don’t get greedy, young lady!”
That voice, that angelic voice almost reminds him of you. How long has it been since you last spoke to him? So long that the sound of your speech slowly fades in the back of his mind.
But that woman, that woman almost sounds like you. His gaze wanders up her dirty shoes, the hem of her green dress…
A green dress. Dark green, to be exact.
“Levi?”
His eyes widen, his heart stops beating.
No, this can’t be. Is it a dream?
“Levi Ackerman? Is that you?”
His gaze darts towards your face, time stands still. Your facial features, your joyful eyes. It’s you, it has to be you. Without any doubt.
“(y/n)”
He can’t catch his breath, his orbs lingering over your delicate figure, your dark green dress.
That dark green dress.
Before he can stop himself, his eyes get glossy. It is really you. You’re standing in front of him, uninjured, just like you did before.
“Levi!”, you cry out.
In the matter of seconds, you kneel in front of him, hungry arms holding onto his frame for dear life. Oh god, how much you prayed to see that man again, how much you longed to finally be able to hold him in your arms.
“I never gave up hope. I always believed in your abilities and that you’ll return to me someday”, you mutter against his chest, your salty tears soaking through the fabric of his shirt.
“I thought you were dead.”
His voice isn’t more than a fade away whisper, hand running through your soft hair. He always wondered how it would feel against his fingertips. And now you’re here. In his arms, alive.
You are alive.
“I’m fine. I did leave this town just in time because I wanted to see you again. It was a close call, I almost got crushed but…I made it. I couldn’t leave after telling you the fairy tale about the fox and the rabbit, right?”
Silent tears stream down his face like a waterfall while you cry rivers against his chest. His whole life Levi was haunted by loss and grief. As if he was cursed, everyone around him seemed to die in front of his very eyes. Just after letting himself fall, after trusting someone, after gifting them his feelings…They just lost their lives like flies.
But you’re safe and sound, you look just like you did in his memory.
“I love you, (y/n). I should have told you this way sooner and I did all of this just to return to you.”
Your heart sinks in your chest, body overflowing with feelings. Without thinking twice, you press your lips against his scarred ones, letting yourself sink into his lap while your hands hold onto his face for dear life. This man right in front of you, the man who never left your mind, the man who risked his life to save yours. He survived. He survived and came back to you just like you always dreamed of.
“I love you too”, you shriek, smiling at him so widely with tears overflowing in your eyes that you make his world whole again.
“But as you see, I’m not the man you met back then…”, he begins, looking down his disabled body.
You shake your head vehemently, gently taking his hands into yours.
“All I see is the man I love and waited for”, you reply.
You wipe away your tears and a trail of snot in the most unladylike and precious way Levi ever witnessed before standing up and straighten your skirt with trembling hands.
“So now, what do you think? How do you like my now old new dress?” you croak.
You twirl around, making his life complete. This. This is exactly what he fought for, why he never gave up even after Hange dedicated her life. You standing in front of him in that dark green dress, smiling widely after he told you that he loves you.
This is all he ever wanted.
“You look lovely. Absolutely lovely, (y/n)”, he replies.
And for the first time since forever, a genuine smile is formed on his face.

“How Do I Breathe” by Mario for Eren Yeager - Angst
How Do I Breathe
Tumblr media
Pairing: Eren Jaeger x reader (gender-neutral)
Word Count: ~0.9k
cw: angst, mentions of anxiety, depression, and panic attacks, established relationship, hurt/comfort, modern day setting
Summary: Eren makes a big decision to move overseas to Marley for a new job, away from all his friends, his family, and worst of all, you. He realizes the hard way that this might have not been the best decision for him.
Author’s Notes: Thanks for the request for the y2k karaoke party, anon! This song is sad, perfect for some Eren angst! I dug deep for this, pulling from some personal experience I had with my partner not too long ago. Hope you like it! Likes, reblogs, and/comments are always appreciated, thank you for reading!
Tumblr media
Eren stares up the ceiling, lying in the bed of his tiny studio apartment. The faucet drips slowly; he must’ve not shut it off all the way, causing it to leak. Every now and again, police sirens blare past, fading in the distance to whatever routine crime is happening a couple blocks down. By two in the morning, college kids return from their late-night parties, slurring their words loudly in the hallway, slamming their doors shut without any care for their neighbors. It doesn’t matter though; regardless of the surrounding commotion, Eren can’t sleep.
It takes him one month to realize the vast differences between Marley and Paradis. It’s one thing to read about it in books or magazines, it’s another to experience it personally. Here, everything moves in fast forward, constantly in motion, no time to stop and smell the roses. Sometimes, he doesn’t have time to think, always pressured to make a rash decision. Work is the same; people always on the go, hasty to make deadlines. It’s even worse because it’s dog-eat-dog, no sense of teamwork or community, everyone trying to compete with each other for that raise or promotion.
Life on Paradis was simple. Small towns, tight knit communities, the type of place where everyone knows everyone and you were never alone. Eren spent nearly his entire childhood glamorizing the world beyond the sea. He stayed in Paradis throughout college and when a job opportunity came to relocate to Marley, he didn’t hesitate to take it. When he made that decision, you were nervous about doing long-distance. “It’s only an hour away by plane, two hours by boat!” he claimed, excited. How could you deny him of this? The dream he had since he was a little kid? So, despite your concerns about it, you agreed to stay together.
Two months in, you start noticing changes in his demeanor. His voice on the phone becomes more docile. His face during video chats looks tired, dark circles under his eyes, gauntness in his cheeks, as if he hasn’t been sleeping well. No matter how hard you try to pry it out of him, he’ll never admit that he’s starting to feel depressed, desperate to cling onto this dream of his. A dream that has gradually turned into a nightmare.
Four months in, unable to sleep, mind racing, he grabs his phone, dialing your number, praying that you answer. The air is thick, making it difficult to breath, throat tight and chest heavy. After three rings, you pick up, your voice concerned. “Eren? Are you okay?”
Tears stream down his face, breathing labored, barely able to talk. “No, I’m not,” he manages to say.
You sit up in your bed, fully awake now, giving him your full attention. “Sweetie, breathe, okay? Just breathe for me.”
He sniffles, choking on his spit, trying his best to calm down. His fingertips are tingling now, body cold and rigid, heart racing wildly. He’s convinced he’s about to die, here in this dinky apartment. Alone.
“Eren, breathe with me. Please. Listen to me and do it with me, okay?” You inhale deeply through your nose, exhale slowly out your mouth, loud enough for him to hear. It takes him a bit to collect himself, but when he does, he copies you, pausing only a few times to wipe his face on his blanket.
“Good job, baby. You’re doing great,” you encourage him, listening to him carefully.
It continues like this for several minutes, until his breathing returns to a normal pace. Eventually, he murmurs, “I can’t do it anymore.”
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t want to be here anymore. Away from family. My friends. You.” He swallows hard, sinking into pillows. “I’m miserable. It’s nothing like what I imagined.”
Your heart sinks, tempted to say whatever you can to bring him back, bring him home. But you don’t. Instead, you say, “Give it more time. You can make friends there.”
He snorts. “The people here don’t want friends. They want allies. People they can use. You know how much I hate that.”
You remain silent, listening to him, unsure what else to say.
He continues, breathing normally now. “I thought this is what I wanted. To be free, to explore my horizons, all that cliché bullshit. I thought the other side of the sea would bring me joy. But here, I’m so lonely. I miss you so much.” He pauses for a beat, eventually adding, “This place sucks.”
You laugh at his crassness, tears welling in your eyes. “I miss you too, Eren. It’s lonely without you here. It doesn’t feel like home anymore.”
He smiles into the phone, warmth returning to his body, wishing he was with you. Wishing he could hug you and kiss you and cuddle with you until he falls asleep peacefully in your arms. “I’m sorry for being a selfish idiot. I should have never left.”
“You’re not a selfish idiot,” you assure him. “It’s good that you tried it out. And who knows, maybe in another universe, you would have really loved Marley.”
He scoffs, rolling his eyes at the ridiculous idea. “I think in all possible universes, I would still hate Marley.”
You giggle, glad to hear him back to his normal self.
Six months after his move to Marley, Eren returns home, safe and sound.

enemies to lovers but it's southern reiner and you're both prize winning cow farmers competing at the state fair ((u make out on the ferris wheel and bicker in front of the official 4-H judges))
oh this request is so mf goaatteeddd!! i just know you care me. you love me sooooo much. this is lifes greatest gift and you have literally bestowed it upon me. i kiss you witj open mouth!
It’s Everyone’s Game — Southern!Reiner x fem!Reader
word count: 3.2k+
content: enemies to lovers, happy ending, slight yan!reiner, reader is quite confrontational
Every single year, he did this — Without fail.
It’s been impossible to attend a peaceful Marley’s Grand State Fair without the most irksome competition known to man attending too.
He wasn’t fearless, or a nasty cheater, or even someone who paid behind door bribes. It was simply because he was just as competitive as you. And annoyingly, he chose your beloved niche to be competitive about.
“Betty’s definitely gonna beat yer Tyler II again this year. Your old boy ain’t got shit on us.”
With a roll of your eyes, you turned around in a huff as you were met with none other than the notorious Four time MGSF winner — Reiner Braun.
“Quit ya talking, Braun. We don’t know jack for certain so we’ll let the judges be judge of that.”
A smirk that was as sweet as summertime honey graced Reiner’s face. He quickly spat the toothpick that was in his mouth and squeezed the crown of his hat before sizing you up. You definitely noticed how his frame was so immensely empowering over yours.
“Oh, don’t worry. I plan to let them judge because then it means I’m winning again.” He teased.
You opened your mouth to rebuttal but before you could, the man walked off.
With an annoyed clench of your hands you made a short and quiet scream.
It just wasn’t fair. For five years in a row, you had won the state fair’s competition for healthiest cow. Tyler the First used to be your breadwinner, until his son Tyler II surpassed him, but you didn’t mind because the competition was between you and yourself.
That was until, Reiner Braun came onto the scene with his Beloved Betty and started dominating each time after that.
If he won again this year then his title wins would be tied with yours — but you couldn’t have that, nor anymore losses or second places. This was the last year of Tyler II’s prime meaning it was probably also your last chance to become a six time champion — and youngest contestant in the history of Marley’s Grand State Fair to do so.
None of your other cattle were matching to Tyler II’s standard so it was all or nothing.
If only Reiner Braun and Betty weren’t in the goddamn way!
“I-it’s a tie.”
“What?!”
Both you and Reiner rose from your seats.
The judges looked towards the both of you with solemn faces. Each and every one of them have been judging long enough to know the feud the two of you had and that this decision was trouble.
“It’s a tie.” Another judge spoke up with a cleared throat. “Based on all the criteria, both Betty and Tyler II’s match neck and neck. There’s nothing else we can do.”
“That’s not fair!” You instantly object back.
There was a moment of silence as most of the people present were too stunned to speak but with a sigh, Reiner spoke up next.
“I hate to say this but I agree.” Everyone looked to the man in shock. Even you made a surprised face at him as you watched him fold his arms over his chest and shake his head.
“This ain’t no fair. There’s got to be an anomaly somewhere. There has to be a set winner.”
You were so close to agreeing with his statement but there was something in you that just wouldn’t let yourself be in harmony with him.
“Wait, what d’you mean ‘you hate to agree’ with me? What, you think I’m wrong all the time?!”
Turning in your direction with a nonchalant attitude, Reiner shrugged.
“Matter of fact, I do, yes.”
Squinting your eyes at him, your jaw dropped as you stepped into his personal space.
“Why, I oughta—”
“Either way!” The judge loudly spoke over you both as they stepped in again. “We’re not going back on our decision. We’ve decided to crown you both first place and that's final.”
“What happens to the prize then?” You ask.
“Well, we’ll split the money between you each and then you’d both have to share a free ride ticket at the state fair.”
"Share a ticket?" You question.
"As in, take a ride together?" Reiner finishes.
The judge nods accordingly, the resolute decision shown clearly on their face.
"Yes, exactly that."
Both you and Reiner look at each other in mild shock at the judgement. Could this really get any worse?
You really jinxed yourself with that one. This got so much worse.
It never occurred to you how little rides were available for two people who didn’t require to be sardined right against each other.
Upsettingly, the ferris wheel was one of the only rides which could accompany a shared yet distanced pair. It definitely wasn’t your first or favourite choice but at least it meant you got your ticket’s worth.
Right?
“God, can this ride go any slower?”
You moan out loud as your head hits the side of the ferris wheel frame. You can’t help but slouch in your position as your hand slides down the window.
Reiner on the other hand sat quietly on the opposite bench. He hadn’t said much the whole ride, only pensively have his macho arms folded over his burly chest. You would have found something to complain about, like how he was assertively manspreading or tapping his going-out timberlands against the metal floor board, but you weren’t in any better form yourself so you didn’t mention it.
“Maybe the slowness can get you to reflect on your behaviour.” He hummed.
With a surprised expression, more at the prospects those were his first words the whole ride, you quickly sat up in offence.
“I—What behaviour?! I’m pretty well behaved thank you very much.”
Reiner looked at you with a face of perplexity. Usually he’d bite back or say something to provoke you more, but for the first time, he didn’t.
A small sigh left the blonde’s mouth as he looked out the ferris wheel’s view. His hand came up to slightly pinch his hat by the front and tip it further of his eyes.
“Look, after today’s competition, I’ve been thinking. Why don’t we just call a truce? There’s no point fighting over this petty shit, it’s tiring.” He said in a low voice.
His words made you frown.
You know you weren’t the most receptive individual when it came to being the ‘bigger person’, but even this seemed bizarre for Reiner to address.
From the moment you met him, he was against you. There’s never been a good day of friendly fire between you — it’s always been fire and opposition. Like yes, he was a good looking guy, and you’re sure he was nice to everyone else — but that's just not the relationship you two had.
If this was a joke, it was a very distasteful one.
Sitting further back onto your side of the bench, you mirror his stature by folding your arms over your own chest. Only difference is that you folded your legs instead.
“I’m not in a laughing mood, Braun. This isn’t time for any’a these games of yours.”
Reiner shook his head as he shrugged.
“Okay, but I’m not pulling your leg, I’m being serious. We’re big enough adults, aren’t we? — I think we’re capable of calling a truce for the sake of peace.”
“Peace?” Your voice went an octave higher. “Between me and you?”
Reiner looked at you expectantly, his face unwavering. With how solid his resolve was, you knew he wasn’t joking and in all honesty, that truly and utterly confused you.
If you were in a any goofier mood, you would have laughed.
“Braun, last time I checked, you hated me — and quite vehemently, may I add. So tell me, why on God’s green earth would I suddenly call a truce?”
With a face of confusion and hands cupping his knees, Reiner bends forwards in his seat.
“Wait, you think I hate you?!”
That caught you off guard. So much so that your throat made a short circuiting noise.
You sure as hell hope this man wasn’t trying to gaslight you right now because now he’s even gotten you questioning every interaction you’ve had with him the whole five years you’ve known his sorry ass.
Holding your hands up in front of you, momentarily squeezed your eyes shut.
“I—Is that a trick question? Of course you hate me, Braun. You always have...”
A louder sigh than before left Reiner’s mouth. Leaning back, the man slowly removed his hat from his head, the other hand ruffling his blonde hairs.
All you could do was watch in shock as Reiner looked at you with eyes you've never seen him look at you with before. The man placed his hat down on the bench next to him before standing up with an exasperated expression. With his hands on his hips, he stood within the middle of the carriage and pensively looked out of the ferris wheel view.
Several seconds passed but they all felt like excruciating minutes. Something about this conversation, Reiner’s attitude, just all felt so off.
Looking up at his towering figure, you couldn’t help but let your expression sour. With his short sleeved muscle t-shirt and Levi jeans, the man looked healthy, but you couldn’t help but think he was sick in the head for pulling such a joke.
“Reiner, I asked you a question.” You tried to assert.
With a pained squint of his face, the blonde turned his face to the side.
“I know!” He almost whined. “Just… give me a second, alright? I’m tryna formulate what I wanna say.”
Your body language slumped against the bench but it was a mask for the suffocating feeling of your heart drumming hard against your chest — more than it has for any contest.
All of this felt so surreal right now. The outcome of the competition, the fact that you were in this stupid ferris wheel, whatever it was that was going on with Reiner — it just seemed like such an out of body experience but you knew you were present.
Pressing his hand up against the roof of the ferris wheel, Reiner sighed before looking down at you.
“Woman, I have never hated your guts for the life of me. If anything I envied you. You seem to do everything so flawlessly and effortlessly and I’m jealous of that. I gotta work real hard to get Betty to beat your boys, you know that? When I win, it feels good. Why? Because it means I’ve worked hard, not because it means I get to see you lookin’ all despondent.”
You thickly gulped as you looked up at the man and in return meet his eyes. There was so much more he wanted to say, you could just see it in the way his mouth twitched every time he looked to you.
But after hearing those words, the situation was becoming more clear. You didn’t care that Reiner thought you did things with no effort. Your whole life had been people thinking the exact same thing, so to you the presumption was uninflecting. But right now, you’re sworn enemy, was telling you how they never hated you or liked seeing you sad.
That he was jealous of you? Envious of you? Inspired to do better by you?
All of this could easily be used to power on rivalry but that’s not what Reiner was saying. Right now, this man was admitting to hating how winning made you sad — and how that, made him sadder.
“So…you saying you never had anything against me?”
You ask unsurely.
The blonde man made a hazy face as he twisted his hand to show contemplation.
“Aside from a lil friendly competition fire, I’ve never had anything against you. Well, at least nothing negative.”
He mumbled the last part but it didn’t go unheard by you. For such a life changing subject, you couldn’t afford to miss out on any information that could help you understand what this was about.
“That last bit, whaddyou mean by ‘at least nothing negative’?” You pointed at him.
Reiner looked as if he’d been caught off guard. He grumbles beneath his breath as he turns his head away from you again, but all it revealed to you was the tale-telling signs as the tips of his ears blushed rosy red.
“It’s nothing important.” He retorts.
“Doesn’t matter; repeat it. You’ve decided to lay everything out into the open so you might as well say what you mean.”
With a lethargic groan, Reiner wiped his hand over his face. You could tell whatever he was going to say was going to be deep considering the uncertain glance gave you.
However, when he let out a dry laugh and placed his hands onto his hips, you knew that was his ‘fuck it’ moment.
“Okay, fine. I didn’t have anything negative against you but I guess the only reason why I was so determined to win each year was because it’d at least mean you’d notice me and I wanted you to notice me because I had a silly crush on you. There. I said it. Happy now?”
His voice was so calm but you could tell he was nervous as hell due to how he spoke in one breath. The way his fingers flexed and his footing constantly swapped, he was anything but confident revealing what he just did. But you don’t blame him, confessing your feelings to someone would always feel daunting, regardless of age. You even felt nervous for him.
But alas, Reiner had taken courage to say what he’d been hiding for all this time. You guess the least you could do was take his ignited fire and turn it into a flame.
Clearing your throat, you patted the seat next to you as you scooched up closer towards the wall. Reiner instantly got the message and sat himself besides you.
The tall man downsized himself to be seated next to you. However, as soon as he sat down, your thighs were warmly touching. You tried to shuffle over but it was to no avail, you were already stuck to the wall. What was even worse was that Reiner’s arms had nowhere to rest. The both of you tried to squeeze each way to make more room but nothing worked.
“Damn, these things real tight.” He lowly joked and you couldn't help but laugh along.
Inevitably, the both of you tried to stick round it but it ended up with one of Reiner’s arms draped around your shoulders and one of your arms leaning on his thigh.
When you initially invited him down, you didn’t think the fitting would be that tight but you guess for a large man, most things weren’t tailored to his size. Imagine how bad it would have been if you chose a rollacoaster ride?!
“How long?”
After a minute or so of silence sat in that position, you spoke.
Reiner looked down at you once he heard you speak. He had his own head being tomb raided with so many thoughts already so he was glad you said something to finally break the cycle.
“How long for what?”
“That you’ve had a crush on me.” You reiterated.
“Since the day I first laid eyes on you.” Reiner instantaneously replied.
With an upset face you looked up at the man. You couldn’t help but notice how that phrase seem like he’d finally released a long breath he’d been holding. He must have felt that way for a long time.
Poking Reiner’s chest you jutted your lip out.
“All that time? How did you expect me to know you liked me? Especially with all that competition shit we had going on, it’d be impossible.”
Scratching the back of his neck, Reiner looked away from you. Although that wasn’t for long because instantly he was back looking straight down at you with a face of admiration — blushes and all.
“Yeah, well I guess it’s my fault in a way. Makes sense you wouldn’t have known concerning how we always seemed at each other’s throats.”
“Yeah. Guess so.” You mumbled.
Although the air was thick with a new fodder of feelings, neither you nor Reiner were able to keep your eyes off of each other. If anything you’re not surprised; Even within these conditions, you were still going head to head to see who’d look away first.
“I know this’ll sound sudden but is it okay if I kiss you? It’s fine if you say no.”
Reiner eventually mumbles.
You knew it was coming because the way his thumb was soothing over your shoulder could only illicit to such things, but nevertheless, it still caught you off guard.
Blinking rapidly, you quickly glance out at the view behind him. You hadn’t noticed but the both of you were nearing the end of your ride.
“And what if I did say no?” You tease as your eyes glance back to him.
With a shrug, Reiner replied.
“Then I’d back up.”
“Without a fight?” You ask.
“Without question.”
You were glad Reiner had concern for how you felt. For now, it had only been him to confess his feelings so it was encouraging that he was still aware that you didn’t owe him anything.
But even whilst being slightly skeptical of these new revelations, you still wanted to indulge just this once.
With your hand on his thigh slowly inching towards the inner part of his leg, you looked up at Reiner from beneath your lashes.
“Don’t back up.” You whisper, your words feather light.
And that was all the access Reiner needed.
With a delicate swoop, the blonde bent down to softly press his lips against yours. His hand that wasn’t already behind your back came up to lightly press against your cheek, the kiss all consuming as the man practically sucked you up.
If you hadn’t believed Reiner had liked you for ages before, then you did now. The amount of desperate panting yet wholesome restraint in not to devour you then and there was so evident in how he kissed you.
Its not like you haven’t been kissed before, but the experience felt so new and fresh to you that it couldn’t help but feel like it was your first.
Your own hand tentatively came up to wrap around the nape of his neck and you couldn’t deny how hot the growl he made in you doing that, was.
No one could say for sure how long you two stayed like that. Especially not when the both of you were practically gasping for air when you pulled back.
With his lips blood and flushed pink — slick with a mix of both your spits — you couldn’t help but occasionally glance down at them as you spoke to Reiner with blown eyes.
“I’m starting to feel like you called a truce just so you could kiss me.”
A low chuckle left the man’s lips. He couldn’t help but to lean forwards and land another kiss to your lips before quickly pulling back.
“Oh, I’m planning to do much more than just that.”
He said whilst pulling you closer to tug you onto his lap.
Maybe, just maybe, coming joint first place wasn’t as bad as it seemed.

So close and yet, so far.
Levi x fem!reader
Modern AU, CEO Levi, fluff, romance, established couple, phone calls
Levi goes on a business trip to Marley for a few days. You both swap hoodies so you can keep something close you both wear a lot. However, the hoodies are not enough. Levi calls you and you talk for hours.

Hushed sobs filled the room as you and Levi clung to each other before the front door. It was hard to let each other go, but it was needed. Levi had work to do and he was a busy man but he always made time for the love of his life.
With his strong hands, he cupped your face and gazed at you. "You're making me cry."
You whined a little. "Sorry."
He kissed away all your tears. "Don't be sorry for feeling, okay?"
"Yes."
He smiled before kissing you. "I love you so much. I will miss you, but we'll message every day and I'll call you at night. Deal?"
You sniffed a bit as you nodded. "Yes." You fixed his coat for him and kissed him over and over. "I love you. I'll keep in touch." You gasped and hurried to your room. "Wait!" You ran back with a bright smile. "My favourite hoodie. Take it with you."
Levi gently took your hoodie and inhaled deeply. "Mm, perfect." He opened his suitcase and put it in before taking out the hoodie he was planning on taking. "Here, this is my favourite."
You hugged it tightly. "I will treasure it forever."
"I'm only gone for four days and then I'll be back."
You smiled brightly. "Have a safe trip!"
He took his suitcase and waved to you. "See you soon!"
The journey was long and hard for Levi because you were not by his side. It'd been a while since he had travelled without you. The two of you were joined at the hip, but now you were not. He used to love being in a hotel room with you. He messaged you as soon as he got to his hotel, but the desire was strong to be with you.
When the second night came, he had enough. He hugged your hoodie tightly and grabbed his phone. He supported his phone on the bed and called you. He smiled a little as he waited for you. He lit up as soon as your face appeared on the screen.
Levi gasped in delight as he said your name. "Evening my darling love!"
You hummed a laugh. "Evening handsome." You climbed into bed and lay on your side. "Are you okay?"
"I missed you."
You welled up. "I miss you too!" You wiggled closer. "Other than missing me, is everything okay?"
He sighed. "No."
"No? What's wrong?"
He whined. "I miss you! I just miss you."
You blew him kisses. "I miss you too. I'm wearing your hoodie right now."
Levi lifted your hoodie up. "I have yours in bed with me."
"Levi?"
"Mm?"
You pouted. "Don't go away for a long time again, please?"
Levi chuckled. "I promise I won't. When I come home, I'm gonna squeeze you so hard and shower you in kisses."
"Me too!" You smiled a little. "So, how was your day?"
Levi unloaded everything that was going on with him and the things he'd been doing. He felt so much lighter telling you the things going on with him. He felt great at the end but a bit of guilt crept inside him when he realised he'd been talking so much.
He blushed a little. "S-Sorry, I've been talking your ear off."
"I asked. I love hearing you talk."
"Mm, thank you." He chuckled. "You're sweet to me."
"Because I love you and you're handsome."
Levi chuckled. "Thank you. I love you too. So, tell me about your day."
The two of you talked all night long until you fell asleep to the sound of each other's voices. When the sun rose in the morning, Levi was the first to wake up and see that the call was still going. He couldn't stop smiling when he saw your cute sleeping face. He adored waking up in the morning to you. Levi knew as he gazed at you that you were the woman he was going to marry.

Tumblr media
read part 1 here
pairing: werewolf!Arthur Morgan x reader
word count: 2.5k
summary: After your mating bite, Arthur offers you something else-- his body.
a/n: I got a lot of requests for a part two with smut! I really like this little series, lmk if you guys want more! Heres the lore to keep in mind because everyone writes werewolves differently:
-mated pairs can feel each others emotions and pain/pleasure -mated pairs are nearly irresistible to each other during the full moon, it's like sex pollen, but can be painful for one or both parties, i.e. a burning sensation or a fever-- the moons way of keeping her werewolf population from dwindling.
warnings: nsfw, smut, a touch of a/b/o, 18+, minors dni

That tether, the unforgiving ache in your chest that had pulled you to him is gone. But it’s replaced by a new feeling. A burning fire, raging in your core. You look up to Arthur’s red eyes, gasping for breath as pure need overtakes you. It’s as strong as the tether was, and your knees buckle as Arthur catches your arms.
“I need– Arthur, it hurts.” You moan, hands gripping at the fire in your stomach as Arthur holds you up. You radiate with need, and he can smell it coming off you so strongly that he can barely restrain himself. His eyes slip closed and he breathes through his mouth to keep a clear head.
“If you’ll have me, I’ll make it go away.” Arthur mumbles, dizzy with the way your scent swirls in his head. His strong arms are tight around you, holding you upright as you frantically nod. He’s the only thing grounding you, making you feel whole and empty just the same because you’ve never felt a bond so raw in your soul, or an emptiness so deep in your core.
“Please, I need you.” You whimper, clinging to him like he’s the oxygen flowing in and out of your lungs.
“I’ll take care of you, I promise.” Arthur whispers. He scoops you up into his arms as if you weigh nothing, carrying you towards your bedroll. Ares and Marley are near the treeline, far away from the sight you two are likely to make.
Arthur lays you down on the cot with a tenderness that no human has shown you before. His eyes glow red as fresh roses as he lines your body over top of you.
"You're so perfect." Arthur growls, leaning down to catch your lips, "N' you're all mine."
You've read about this too. Arthur's an alpha, meaning that he's equally possessive and protective. You're his, and you have no quarrels with that, you'll gladly shout it from rooftops.
His lips crash onto yours, wanting and needy. He takes your lips like they're something necessary to his survival. It's so different from your first kiss just moments ago. There's a hunger behind his eyes, and this time when he nudges his nose into your neck and inhales, the scent is sickeningly sweet. He can smell how much you want him, he can taste how ready you are.
Your body aches as he runs his fingers down your stomach to your thigh. He nudges your thighs apart, reaching down to run his fingers over your entrance. If anything, his teasing makes the fire burn hotter and you groan at the way it consumes you. You need more of him, all of him.
You gasp as he presses a finger into you, curling it. The fire quells, but it's not nearly enough. You groan, wincing as sweat runs down your forehead.
Arthur's fingers work inside you, pumping as he kisses and bites your neck. He growls occasionally, overcome with the need that's raging in himself. His fingers equally help and hurt you. The more he teases you, the more pleasure you feel, but the longer he's not in you, more fever overtakes you. The moon is pulling you together, and her patience is wearing thin. Arthur's fingers continue to slide in you, and you buck your hips as pleasure ripples through you. It's short lived, as the bubbling heat takes over,
"Arthur, please no more teasing, it hurts." You wince, face scrunching up as your body screams for his own, "Alpha, please."
At his title, something in Arthur snaps back, and when he realizes you're in pain he apologizes immediately.
"Shit, I'm sorry, I'll make it go away. You just hang in there, alright?" Arthur asks of you and you nod. You can do that. You need him so desperately, it's unlike anything you've ever experienced. He's your water, your oxygen, your shelter. He's right with the things keeping you alive, you know that you can't live without him now.
You swallow thickly when you glance down. He’s an alpha, and so he’s big– really big. You hesitate, and even the fire in your stomach pauses for a moment. Arthur can smell your fear, and he immediately pulls back a bit.
“What’s the matter? You’re scared.” Arthur points out, scenting the cool night air and finding again the unmistakable, strong scent of fear. You shake your head, pulling him back down to you.
“You’re big, alpha. Just be gentle.” You ask, some of your anxiety quelling when his eyes soften on yours. They bleed back to that familiar ocean green for just a second as he nods, a strand of his soft hair falls down over your face and you gently push it behind his ear.
“I won't hurt you.” He swears. Werewolves never break their promises. It’s a code, one of their strictest.
“I trust you.” You murmur, allowing him access as your fever picks back up. Your hands cling to his body, pulling him down as he lines himself up with your entrance. Your head tosses back as you wait for the release, shuddering underneath him.
Everything falls away when he pushes into you. It's like pieces of a puzzle finally clicking together and all the pain and the heat falls away. It's replaced by pure ecstasy. The forest and the fire, the wind and the moon are lost on you as he rocks into you. There's nothing but him in this moment. You gasp, never having been so full, mind and body, than right now. Arthur's eyes flash red as he groans deeply, keeping a slow hard pace as you gasp underneath him.
"Feel better?" Arthur grunts, nose tucked into your collarbone as he inhales your scent with every thrust. You smell so damn good. It's driving him mad, driving him into you. You're the most addictive drug he's ever tried, and he knows no matter how much he has you it won't ever be enough.
"It feels so good, Arthur. You make me feel so good." You moan, wrapping your arms around his torso. You hang onto him like a ship at sea, and he surely rocks you like one. His hips roll into you in the most delirious way imaginable, and before long you're a moaning, mewling mess underneath him.
The stretch is almost painful, but the pleasure is indescribable as your tether returns. It's not painful, just a buzz reminding you that you're mated to the man above you. It adds to your growing pleasure, vibrating through your core. Arthur's arms strain as he holds back, grunting and groaning as he fights his nature.
"You're holding back." You point out in a breathy whimper. Arthur's squinted eyes open, and his red orbs lock onto yours.
"You're human…" He groans, "Don't wanna hurt you."
"I can handle it." You mewl, needing more of him. He shakes his head, hesitating before you reiterate, "Alpha, I trust you. Please."
Arthur snaps, and at your admission, his instincts take over. His nose digs into your neck, and he bites the skin there lightly as he drives into you hard. He's not holding back anymore, and your body rocks against the bedroll as he drills into you, growling into your ear.
Its raw, animalistic and incredible. Arthur leaves bruises on your hips and yet his lips leave kisses on your neck. Even when he gives up control, he's still a gentleman, still making sure you're comfortable and feeling loved.
The moon shines down brightly, casting you both in a colorless glow. The deep contrast of red irises bore into your soul as you claw at Arthur's chest, losing your composure. You've never felt such an intense pleasure. It builds and builds until you fear the snap, you're not sure it can get better than this, but you push the boundary nonetheless.
"Don't stop, Arthur." You moan.
"I won't. Christ, you smell so good." Arthur growls, surrounding himself in your scent as he pumps into you. He can feel your approaching orgasm, making this an almost otherworldly experience. The juxtaposition of two people's pleasure in one body is unfathomably good, and you nearly scream as you peak.
You yell out a slew of his name until he silences you with his lips. You moan into his mouth, tasting the blood on his lips from his earlier bite. He holds you tight, hips sputtering and quickening their pace as he finishes in you.
You both climax together, and it seems to last a lifetime. Feeling each other's pleasure makes for a long, powerful finish. His lips are still on yours as his eyes glow brighter than you've ever seen them, and then with a heavy pant they bleed back to that familiar blue/green.
His forehead rests on yours as he catches his breath, beads of sweat sliding down his nose as his instincts leave him somewhat. Immediately he's worried that amidst his loss of control he'd hurt you.
"You're okay? I didn't hurt you, did I?" Arthur asks, looking down over your body as he slides out. You wince from overstimulation, shaking your head.
"No, you didn't hurt me. That was incredible." You smile, gripping his hand in yours. There it is again, that buzzing. It's content now, comfortable. Arthur lets you rest for a moment, peppering kisses along your neck and chest. He runs his tongue over the bite marks on your neck, soothing the sting as you rest under him.
The wind howls, giving you a chill as goosebumps ripple over your body. Arthur notices this, and he stands from the ground, scooping you up again as you yelp. It's nothing for him to carry you. He also grabs one of your shirts from the ground, holding it in his hands as he begins to carry you away from camp.
"Where are you takin' me?" You ask, feeling suddenly sleepy as your head lulls back on his big strong arm. He carries you down the bank, ducking under pine trees as he walks bare through the forest.
"Goin' to get you cleaned up. I told you I'd take care of you. It's my job now, my responsibility. " Arthur hums, seeming satisfied with his new title.
He carries you down through the woods, following the scent of a path he'd taken before. There's a deep pond down here with crystal clear water, a perfect spot for a bath. Naturally, Marley follows, keeping a comfortable distance behind you both.
You almost fall asleep in his arms. He's wholly satisfied you tonight, both mind and body. You feel so safe, so connected to him. The dirt is soft under Arthur's feet as he pads down to the pond. Insects chirp in the night and owls hoot, but the sound you focus on is Arthur's heartbeat under your ear. It's faster than a normal one, must be a wolf thing.
You hear when his feet splash into the water as he walks down the slope. You expect it to be cold, but the water is warm as he lets you stand in it. He helps you down until you're on your feet in clay and sand with the water lapping just under your chest. The full moon shines brightly, casting a white glow over the water. Arthur's hand remains around your waist as you take in the night's beauty.
You dip under the water, submerging yourself fully in the warm pond. You stay under for a few moments, listening to your heartbeat in your ears as your body sings with a fulfillment and a purpose. When you emerge again your hair is slicked back with wetness and water clings to your eyelashes in little droplets. Arthur's hand cups your cheek as you look to him, and he leans in to press a soft kiss to your lips.
His lips are tender and loving as he showers you in aftercare. You lean into his kiss, licking his bottom lip with a groan. When you pull away, Arthur begins to wash you up. He uses his hands to pour big handfuls of water over your shoulders, tenderly wiping the sweat and the dirt away from your face with the shirt he’d brought. His hands are soft despite the callouses that adorn them. Arthur is careful in his actions, wiping and washing your skin until it is all freshly cleaned.
Once he deems you cleaned up, he gathers you into his arms again, and begins carrying you back to your camp. You smile at the fact that he seems to carry you everywhere now, but you don't mind. Poor Ares has some competition it seems. Arthur walks back up the bank, his chest humming under your body. You lean into his endless pool of warmth, nearly falling asleep again. Arthur places you carefully down on your bedroll near the fire. He gives you time to get dressed, and you pull your shirt over your arms.
You hear him shift behind you, and as his instincts take over, he runs the perimeter of camp, checking for any threats or potential harms to you. His nose is on the ground as he picks up the scent of a coyote, but the scent is old enough that he's sure it won't bring any harm to you. If anything does, he won't hesitate to kill it.
You find yourself drifting off, curled up tightly under the stars. You're close to the fire, but still, you shiver from the cold night.
You smile as Arthur lines your back, his thick fur warming you as you turn and lean into him. He licks your cheek lightly, sighing contentedly as you pet his soft coat.
What a day it has been. It's changed the course of your life. You never would have imagined yourself mated to a werewolf, that's for sure. The stars shine nearly as bright as Arthur's eyes as he watches you drift off through wolf's eyes. He's so warm, you can't help it. Everything about him makes you feel safe and comfortable and loved. You know he loves you, you can feel it through your shared emotions. You love him too, you're sure, but neither of you make a move to say it yet.
The moon shines proudly, watching over her new mated pair. She has pulled two together again, worked miracles and formed one of the rarest pairs known to the earth– a werewolf and a human.
You nuzzle into his fur, feeling whole– complete. You've found your other half, and he's found his.

Pair: Reiner x Reader
Warnings: Smut. Reiner being a flirtatious bad boy—popular with the ladies—cute fluff. Flirting. Flirtation at Reiner’s part. Fluff at first, angst and smut come later. Spice is nice. Mentions of serious topics and more. And serious flashbacks from season 1 in Reiner’s POV. MDNI, NSFW.
A/N: Other than Levi, my other favorite character is Reiner. He kinda grew on me since season 4 of Attack on Titan, and I’m not going to lie, he’s gotten hotter. So does Eren with long hair. But overall, every anime character is hot—Like Toji and Gojo. That’s all I’ve got to say on that. I just realized I got sidetrack. Aside from Levi and Eren, Reiner got hot. Really hot, and has great character development. Please enjoy this fanfic. :) I’m sorry that it’s long. Reader’s singing is inspired from me listening to Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. For Reiner fans, this one’s for you.

Chapter One
Angel in the Gardens
Next Chapter
In the year of 854, things haven’t changed anything in Marley except Reiner. Although the change in Marley is a little more advance than the last time he resided before the mission. In his younger years, he was assure of himself, life is impossible with the life of prosperity with his family and relatives, and with his Armored Titan powers, anything is possible that could be reach, even his dreams beyond.
But now, with the retaliation and Eren’s endless cycle of hatred in his heart, Reiner wouldn’t and couldn’t blame him. As he came back, the rose-tainted windows shattered, and its colors wilted to stale and darkened. Everything he dreamt of, of being a hero, was his fault.
His mission with Zeke was no challenge; he has done this—entirely trained this since he was a young boy, born with an Eldian mother and a Marleyan father. Most of his childhood has brought up by his mother, his father was absent, even when encountering his father, he felt a struck of shame clutching and became a heavy heart. Reiner up skill his knowledge and agility in the military. He could recall the rain—drenched and heavy, carrying a loaded weapon in his arms as he ran to keep up the running course.
Realizing he has no childhood to conjure, only the days of the preparation for the upcoming years to hold his reputation. His days on being the candidate to inherit Armored Titan sounded like a victory. All the gatherers and onlookers at the parade, showering the Warriors with celebration. Reiner waved before the crowd, unknowingly what lies ahead. Everything was simple for him. Except now, it felt like a feverish dream, a good one, perhaps, but—maybe it wasn’t so. As soon as he got older, his young mind refined into a conclusion that inheriting a Titan power was nothing but an extreme burden.
For years he fought, he felt pain at first, but he has become immune, so immune he hasn’t realized he has two personalities—as a role of a soldier and a warrior.
What has become of Reiner, if not besides as a potential and a born-product for Marley’s representation of strength?
Was he even born to be as himself in the first place?
He had a moment, whether it’s up for him to still continue. Until now, he’s still breathing with a coursing veins with a thirteen-year curse.
What then if he hadn’t survived from Paradis? Power of Armored Titan will, no doubt, pass onto someone else has greater potential than Reiner. Yet, somehow, he’s still here, alive, in the flesh, not as a pure ghost. Though he maybe because his lively soul went numb.
Zeke has done it’s final job on the mission at Fort Slava, and led them to go home happily, reuniting with his family. He hasn’t said much to his mother other than a simple greeting. And when his relatives came and chat, when his uncle asked him regarding to Paradis, Reiner could describe anything but negative—the negativity lacks, but kept uttering. Some were shocked at Reiner’s statement of the potato girl. Each day has begun a turmoil in his mind. In sleepless nights, he tried to drown out the sounds of screams and cries and treachery. Each time he closes his eyes, white flashes overtaken, his memories of the greatest fighters and soldiers in Paradis—the Ackermans.
Then Eren’s toothy smile went into scorching rage.
He’d never forget the look on Eren’s face when Reiner unveiled his injured and regenerated.
The twist of nightmares felt real. Maybe because they are. Reiner couldn’t handle nightmares. People who thought of nightmares as useless dreams have a heart of steel. He hasn’t told a soul since he returned.
His mind snapped. And his heart thumped.
There’s one thing Reiner wouldn’t erase.
You.
He remembered you. He could still hear the sound of your voice calling to him, singing to him, lull him to sleep each time he came by and conversed with you. With rising daylight and glowing moonlight, he yearned to stay by your side forever.
Did he have to leave you for good? He couldn’t bear a hurtful look on your face, and the battle between Paradis and Marley couldn’t contain countless emotions running through him. Reiner was a coward, not knowing what to say to you. Or perhaps he’s afraid because he knows what your reaction and words are going to be. He soon to be longing for your touch, your voice. Your voice resonated him, as if he’s lost into a trance, lost his goal and objective and drowned into your arms and a song adorned upon your smiling face.
Then he tried to hum the tune, but couldn’t replicate it; he wasn’t a good singer. Hearing your laughter after him attempting to tune your voice, he find himself laughing soon after.
Realizing you’re not here, Reiner’s tear drops fell.
He wished to see you again. But how will he? If he attempts to be a deserter, it’s a final sentence for him.
He wouldn’t care.
Deep down, he’d rather stay with you, run away with you, from Eldians and Marleyans and live in another deserted island to start anew. No more playing soldier or a servant to his homeland.
His tears drowned in pillow sheets as his somber eyes replaced his vision with darkness and listless dreams.
Anything would be better than life’s silence in Marley.
~~~
~Year 850~
Fierce concentration due to training has been difficult for a young Warrior. Reiner, along with his companions, Bertholdt and Annie, came into Paradis for one thing. The Founding Titan. With the possession of the Founding Titan, it could end the lives of their enemies in Paradis for good. War hasn’t been kind to them since the day they took their first breath as their sworn oath. They took the mission without question; they—three Warriors—must contribute to their land, Marley.
For the greater good, they all said.
And hoped—prayed, even.
Reiner had countless doubts in his mind, despite his chosen status as a Warrior. Until Bertholdt told him that there are other things need to be occupied. Their infiltration was a success on their part, but seeing thousands—possibly hundred thousands of civilians in Paradis were at their swift end. Many mourned and fought. Others, fought against their livelihood, whether they want to fight or struggle.
He could hear their screams—their agonies, hate and cries every night since the first time he and his friends came. Everything was in shambles, and the crowd grew wilder with food supplies and good shelter during difficult hours. Adults starved themselves to feed their children with good consumable bread, sometimes with a bit of cheese and dairy to drain while others kept the food and space to themselves—all cramped with melancholic and upsetting atmosphere. Shortcomings went by when the meat supplies are strictly limited, and the law abide the rule to eliminate several folks after their failed years of attempting to crop and grow rations in the stubborn and dry field. Whether rain or shine, nothing prevail. They all kept trying until they found themselves exhausted and drowning in further to despair and anger.
This wasn’t the life people wanted. They wanted a lifelong prosperity and their properties to be in order. Even if it means to be locked away in a 60 meter wall from Titans.
Marley’s guidance to the future Warriors must be advanced and clever if it means for the predecessors to amplify the example of becoming a greater threat that contributes to annihilate the history’s nightmares. A spark of evolution, an ignited ideals and source of persuasion of the Marley lands to set the world rock to the core.
Paradis, on the other hand, hadn’t set the world alight. Paradis was as quiet as a tomb—untouched.
Once.
It was once pristine and silent, surrounded by trees and animals and mountains and quiet lakes.
A newly world from theirs—Reiner’s, Annie’s and Bertholdt’s.
A newly world to which they must merge as one of them.
~~~
Wearing a uniform and staying motionless under a torrid weather was a torture.
Commander Shadis kept an eye to the new coming trainees—104th Training Corps. With wide eyes fatigued and a bald head is enough to scare others. Not Reiner, though. Gladly, he doesn’t need to do the introductions. So does Annie and Bertholdt. The grim look in their eyes says it all.
The only Reiner is amused of is when the girl was eating a hot potato in her hand. Though at the end of the day, she was punished to run for hours until evening. Supper between trainees was another thing Reiner had to attend like the rest. Though his attention wasn’t on him; but his heart pounded when a boy with teal eyes and brown hair mentioned of the Titans that attacked and destroyed Shiganshina. A boy named Eren Yeager described their appearances. It was vague, but, Reiner knew what Eren meant. Maintaining his reaction, Reiner kept sipping his drink in stilled and calm pace, watching everyone being so oddly fascinated with Eren’s story until the rivalry with another boy, decided to jump in and argue. They somewhat reminded Reiner of his chaotic niece, Gabi, along with her friends, Falco and Udo and Zofia.
Like Gabi, Jean and Eren are a bunch of rowdy brats, fighting for power, and their perspectives are vastly opposites. One wants to be in a Military Police Brigade and the other wants to face the Titans alone, as if Eren’s destined to destroy every last one of the gigantic creatures.
As soon as Reiner finished his drink, he went up for a goodnight’s sleep. A soft yelp came below him. His golden eyes looked down and saw a young girl collapsed on the floor.
Abashed, Reiner held his hand outward as his height crouched down to the girl’s level.
“Sorry, little lady,” Reiner said with a smirk. “I didn’t watch where I’m going, but I didn’t mean to hurt a pretty lady like yourself.” He sent a wink at her direction.
“Th-that’s no problem,” she said, blushing, unable to return the gaze. She got up and went beside her friends, who are giggling at Reiner’s charm. One friend slapped her hand at the blushing girl’s back shoulder.
He smirked as he watched them afar until completely out of sight with a fold on his arms. Until a heavy hand fell onto Reiner’s shoulder blade.
“Remember what we came here for,” Bertholdt reminded, then moved past Reiner.
Annie hasn’t looked at Reiner’s direction, focusing in her own world.
And that Reiner’s mind recollected regarding to the real reason and obtained a lifelong achievement to an acknowledgement not only for himself but the safety of his family.
Marley.
In the land of Marley, Reiner must always remember two things: knowing one’s place, and the line of betrayal and trust must never to be cross.
~~~
Eren had the most difficult time with the gear strapped to his trousers. Shadis kept yelling at him, while the trainees snickered at his attempts to pass the test. He fell down clumsily again. Stuck like glue. Reiner, on the other hand, thought he has given enough lesson for Eren to pass with flying colors. Needless to say, today wasn’t going well in his favor.
He shouldn’t worried about Eren’s intentions, right? If he fails, he wouldn’t have an insignificance of him discovering their secret. Seeing Eren’s determination and fury against the Titans would mean one thing—revenge against who’s the main responsibility of Shiganshina’s Fall. A dead end. Reiner’s ability to shift had him on edge. Bertholdt noticed this, but said nothing; comforting and reminding Reiner in public, or even an air of whisper will cause suspicion from the outsiders of Marley.
“Wagner, give him the belt,” Shadis commanded.
“Y-yes!” Wagner complied.
By the end, Shadis concluded that Eren’s gear belt is broken. And the trainees were shocked at Eren’s ability to balance while his gear was broken and uncooperative that led him to failure in the first place. Eren went from failure to success. He’s going to defeat the Titans. Mikasa was relieved for Eren, and Armin believed in Eren. Reiner was stunned.
Eren’s revenge will proceed.
~~~
In most days, the trainees went onto the next step: using the Maneuver gear. Though this one dark day, they trained under the rain, carrying loaded bags while everyone, even Reiner, overheard Shadis shouting, lecturing over Armin’s slow pace. Reiner went over Armin’s side and slung Armin’s bag over Reiner’s shoulder. Albeit Armin retrieved it back and ran farther.
The people in training, his newfound friends, called Reiner the big brother—helpful and kind to everyone. But he wasn’t a big brother when it comes to girls’ side. He’s just as charming when he’s helping them unloading heavy items. And even encourage them during the one-on-one fight. Every girl had their hair covered their flustered eyes and smile. Each wink and touch he gave sent them flinging with squeals. Some boys were jealous because the girls they had a crush on were focused on Reiner.
Though Reiner had benefits of gaining admiration; to keep under and away from suspicions.
During supper, Eren and Jean argued again. Reiner grew tired of it. So he quickly eat his meal before bedtime. But the people before him took long to exit—filled with chatter about anything that’s unrelated to him.
Looking for another exit, he went at the right door, but cold darkness greeted him. The long night has caressed him with soft wind as he stepped out. Moonlight shone above the heavy pine wood trees. Exhaling, he watched the others saying goodnight to each other. The smoke-scent wafted through his nostrils, as he spotted the flames flickering.
Their life is different, after all. Using candles and fire and torches is an obvious, clear sign that island of Paradis is way far behind from the rest of the outside world. Hence the walls they built and buried themselves in for security and comfort from the hungry eyes and teeth from gigantic creatures.
In resolute state, Reiner marched onward onto the clear path, while pebbles crushed beneath his steps, ready to repose for tomorrow’s another course on defense.
But the noise shot nearby at his left direction. He stopped and inspected the crowded scenery. Only a few left, but all face at the opposite direction. A chance for Reiner to sneak into the forest. But with the Maneuver gear, his doom will come sooner than later. Though he entered in the forest, but not too far deep in.
Through the gusted wind, a melody entered.
Reiner was sure he wasn’t dreaming, he went in a little further, shoving the tree branches aside. A soothing melody came once more. His eyes fluttered, then shut. He took the song with him like the air he breathes. His legs numbed as he swayed.
Who’s voice was that? Reiner thought. Am I…dreaming?
“REINER!”
Behind him, the violent rustling from bushes became louder.
“What the hell are you doing there? The titans, remember? Without a defense weapon, you’d be dead!” Bertholdt lectured.
“I just thought…”
Bertholdt’s head tilted to the side. “Thought..?”
“Nothing, I thought I heard a deer coming by,” he lied.
“Everyone’s sleeping at this hour. We shouldn’t be waste anymore time than this.”
As they progressed into the clearing area, the grounds were completely empty.
“What’s up with you today?” Bertholdt scolded.
“Nothing,” Reiner replied. “Nothing at all. I’m just…bored. I don’t want to stand outside.”
Bertholdt sighed, hands behind his head. “Just don’t get carried away with the girls, alright? If you get too close to one of them, you’ll soon forget you-know-what. We’re here for one thing. And one thing only. It’s for the sake of—”
Reiner nudged Bertholdt with his elbow roughly. “Don’t say it, you idiot! People are still here! They could be hiding for all we know!”
They soon stopped at their mid-walk, found out that the boys were sneaking out from their cabins, based on their mood and direction they came from. Reiner greeted the boys goodnight before rushing into their cabins before taking a slight jog.
“Sorry, you’re not in a right mind,” Bertholdt remarked. “That’s why I’m here as your reminder. If you’re here alone, you’re doomed. And Annie won’t help you the way I did.”
Reiner’s brow twitched. “Why don’t you say that sentence to her face and see what happens?”
Bertholdt’s cool demeanor diminished. “Hey, I didn’t mean it like that,” he said with his hands flailing. “Annie won’t remind you like I do. She does things in her own way—does her own kicking and whatnot.”
Reiner face forward, entering the cabins. “If you say so.”
Then he hopped inside the bed after he had taken off his shoes. In a loud groan, he said to himself, “Another day, another struggle.”
“You can do this,” Bertholdt said before blowing out the candle light and tucked himself in the sheets, already snoring and had his leg twitched.
His heart beat pumped each time he breathed aloud into the darkness. Thus, he appeased himself as his eyes fallen and his body motionless, his loud heart became softer to hear.
The sky was dark, and heard nothing but a song echoed in his dreams.
~~~
The one-on-one fight was no problem. Reiner found himself defenseless to Eren. He can fool Eren as a big and slow fighter, but when it comes to Mikasa, the role of being big and slow became real as it can be. He found himself flying and landed on top of Eren’s body.
The rest was a blur. A fight between Annie versus Mikasa. Both with great skills and their cold eyes turned against each other. This the world that Reiner is acquainted with.
~~~
The boys were crowded once they had their break from their training while Reiner and Bertholdt remain restful under the shade by the massive tree. Boys didn’t talk anything other than girls. But as soon as they mentioned girls, Reiner couldn’t bring himself to stay still as Bertholdt eventually gave up and accompanied Reiner to others.
“So what’s this about girls?” Reiner uttered.
“What’s happening?” Bertholdt’s awkwardness came through.
The boys exchanged glances with each other for a second. “There’s this girl, she’s really beautiful.”
“Her height’s too petite,” another boy said.
“And really pretty,” the third boy said.
“And gentle,” another boy commented.
“Who was it?”
“Christa Lenz,” the first boy answered. “She reminded me of a princess for some reason.”
The third boy cackled. “That’s too much of a stretch! I’d say she reminded me of a goddess to give us blessing.”
“If she were a goddess, she wouldn’t even you a look and give you a blessing without a second thought,” the second boy said.
“Hey, I’m not that hideous! It’s just the uniform that makes me feel sweaty.”
“From the sun, I hope.”
“Then you might as well join the people wanted to work in the fields instead.”
And soon fell into a laughter.
“Where is she?” Reiner asked in firm tone.
The boys all gawked at him now.
“She’s at the training grounds with Mikasa,” the first boy said.“Why?”
Reiner turned to see Bertholdt having a look at him in the eye with a silent caution.
“No reason,” Reiner replied, shrugging. “We just want to join in on the fun. We’ve been training hard for the last couple of days—my legs are getting all sore.”
“I agree,” the first boy said. “I wonder when the graduation will be. No one knows until we’re notified, right?” Then laid his hand on Reiner’s shoulder. “See you later.”
“Where are you going?” Bertholdt asked, mortified.
“To the food supplies inside Shadis’s building,” one of the boys answered.
“But we’re not allowed to be there,” the second boy scolded. “We’ll be hanged or shot if we go there. Or run laps until we’re starving.”
“Relax,” the first boy slung his arm over the second boy’s shoulder. “We’re just going to see if the potato girl is there.”
“I wonder if she’s going to run laps again,” the third boy said.
“Or not eat anything for tonight again,” the second boy added.
“Shadis really knows how to humiliate someone in front of the crowd,” the third boy said, snickering. “Remember the last time she ‘farted’?”
“Ah, who cares? As long as we have entertain, nothing else matters,” the first boy replied with a smug.
Three of the boys disappeared from Reiner and Bertholdt’s sight.
“You’re seriously not going, are you?” Beetholdt lectured.
“I’m not going to the food supplies,” Reiner replied.
In that moment, Bertholdt’s eyes went grim. The boys’s howling cackle echoed behind them. “I wasn’t talking about the food supplies.”
~~~
Down at the steepest hillside, the birds flocked near at a radiant sunset hung low between the clouds.
“Are you even listening to me, Reiner?” Bertholdt said. “If you fail, we—”
“I know, I know,” Reiner dismissed. “A little break won’t hurt.”
“I never said anything about a break. I hope you understand what you’re getting yourself into.”
“Yes, Mother,” Reiner remarked. He looked at Bertholdt over his shoulder.
Bertholdt sighed. “You’re a Warrior, playing as a soldier. Your heart belongs to Marley. Nowhere else.”
“Keep it down,” Reiner warned. “We’re almost there at the training grounds! We’re about to see them soon enough.”
Unimpressed, Bertholdt said, “It’s only Mikasa and Christa.”
Reiner’s lips curved. “Exactly.”
Bertholdt scratched his head. “You like Mikasa, too?”
Reiner shuddered back. “There’s no way I like Mikasa that way. Not in a million years. If anything, I’m glad she likes Eren more. I wouldn’t even let her near to anywhere near me or my bed.”
Bertholdt’s hand slammed against his face. “You—uh!” He slapped his face again. “You never change. Though you aren’t slacking from your mission at the start, so I suppose you need a break.”
Reiner’s head snapped with his ears perked up and his eyes twinkled. “Really?”
His friend’s shoulders sagged. “Do what you want as long as it doesn’t hurt the mission.”
“Speaking of mission, where’s Annie?”
“She should be with the others. But if not, I wouldn’t be surprised of her having some alone time. She sticks with us for so long she might be tired of looking at the same faces.”
His shoulders shrugged. “Guess so,” Reiner said.
Bertholdt screamed.
“What, is there a bug on you or SOMETHING?!”
Both boys jumped and fell altogether at the sight of glaring Annie.
“We’re here on this island, and you boys are surprisingly well-guarded,” Annie stated with her arms crossed. “Interesting progress. Is that how you boys trained nowadays?”
“We haven’t seen you,” Bertholdt said, clearing his throat. “For a while now. His face is smeared with blush once he hoisted himself. “Hi, Annie.”
Reiner smacked himself in the face. Of course he wouldn’t erase the fact that Bertholdt likes her.
Without giving a second glance, Annie walked ahead, approaching downward at the training grounds.
“Was there a reason you want to be at the training grounds?”
Bertholdt scratched his cheek. “Well, that’s—”
“If you’re here for training, we could use an extra hand,” Reiner answered.
Scoffing, Annie’s hair flipped over to the side. “What are you saying? You’ve been training long and hard since when you were a child.”
“She has a point,” Bertholdt supported.
“Maybe, but it doesn’t mean we’re slacking off. We’re here, training as them. We just need more time for more preparation. I’d be frightened if we keep ourselves down. We’d be dead in the ditch. As much as I hate to say this, but, one of these days we’re going to betray them someday. If someone finds out our true intentions, I’d rather be…be…”
“Be?” she said, her eyes unblinking.
Waiting.
“Brave,” the blond said. “Rather than be shameful.”
All of them stayed quiet.
“I agree,” Bertholdt said. “We have to be brave. We all have to, if it comes to that.” He patted his hand over Reiner’s back. “Don’t stress yourself. We’ll deal with it if we have to.”
Reiner dipped his head as an acknowledgment in return.
“It’s settled then,” Annie said in quiet determination.
Soon they met up with Mikasa, who was helping with Christa with defense mechanism with wooden weapons—all kinds. So far it has been going accordingly. But Eren was beaten badly, so badly Armin stitched Eren up, watching them from the sidelines.
“It hurts,” Eren whined.
“You should probably learn a thing or two from Mikasa’s skill,” Armin suggested with a faint, encouraged smile. “At any rate, you should start. It’s better to be beaten up than to be disarm by the Titans.”
“He’s right, you know,” Reiner intruded.
“Reiner,” Eren grinned, stretching from ear to ear.
“Don’t mean to pry, but, you’ve beaten down, only this time it’s Mikasa, and not the maneuver. Still, I don’t get what’s the point of fighting against people.”
“Beats me,” Eren responded. “Besides, it’s better to have knowledge than nothing.”
Then the boys overheard Mikasa’s harsh, but soft tone.
“Wrong,” she said, watching Christa, who was out of breath, ready to fall. “Your hands and arms need to be in a correct form when performing an attack. And your legs and feet need to be balanced—don’t step on a wrong foot.”
Reiner’s brows furrowed, eyes squinting.
Eren and Armin leaned forward, studying Reiner closely. “Something the matter, Reiner?” Eren spoke.
“She’s too harsh,” Reiner said. “Not everyone can be like Mikasa.”
Armin gulped. “True, but…”
“Was she always like this?”
“To who?”
“Everyone.”
“She’s always been like this, even before the Shinganshina’s fall. Why?”
Reiner noticed Armin gave him watchful eyes—curious, no doubt, but watchful.
“No reason,” he said to Armin. “She threw me across the field, remember?”
“Ugh, don’t remind me of that,” Eren intruded.
He went to Christa once she’s dismissed by Mikasa. Reiner knelt down before her, and offered his hand for her to grip. She’s indeed beautiful, no doubt. Petite height as he got closer to her, her watching him with frightful expression.
So gentle and fragile. Too perfect for the unjust world.
“Are you okay?” he questioned.
“I’m…” she cleared her throat. “I’m okay. I wasn’t seriously hurt. Mikasa did what she had to.”
Reiner chuckled. “That’s quite alright. Here, I’ll help you.”
Before Christa could touch Reiner’s hand, another hand showed up, splitting the concentrated mood. Both gazed at Ymir, a tall girl with brown hair with freckles, adorned with a scowl.
“I can take Christa from here, if you don’t mind,” she seethed, and carried Christa in her arms, fading into the sunset’s light.
“Wow,” is all Eren said.
~~~
He hasn’t seen Christa since midday. He supposed that Ymir has taken a certain liking to her. If Reiner crossed the line with temptation, things will ugly with Ymir. She had no doubt to report him if she discovers of his Titan form. With that, he decided not to pursue for Christa’s reciprocation.
Often so, his mind changes whenever there’s love and affection. But with Christa, he felt enamored, like the walls had broken down on him. Shaking it off, he cast his feelings aside.
After that, they went back to their cabins, but just before long, he heard the melody in the wind again. Suddenly, he had forgotten about Christa and the girls he flirted.
There it is again. The melody arises. The voice carried again into the wind and whispered in his ears.
Without consciousness, he followed the sound into the woods once more.
He never once heard sounded so unearthly and beautiful. The song felt real—resonated and clutched him in the heart.
When he finally reached into the forest’s center, and there she was singing, lying underneath the green grass, facing away from the moonlight, surrounded by fresh oblong leaflets and forget-me-nots, wearing her white nightgown reached up to her feet and her white puffed sleeves adorned her flawless skin. Her long manes splayed against the ground.
Reiner stopped himself. He couldn’t see her face. One wrong move, she’ll stop singing. He was no fool. Yet he was; he has no weapon with him.
Should I tell her? Should I not and stay here and watch?
As he was about elevate his foot, the twig crunched. You stopped singing, exhaled a soft gasp, promptly rose forward with her back turned.
“Who’s there?” you demanded.
Crisp leaves rustling as the cool air embedded onto your skin.
He heard your voice, saying, “Don’t come any closer.”
Anyone who would see you in this state will get in trouble. You’re defenseless, broke a curfew, and alone, no less. You needed a bit of guidance to help you for self-protection. Though he had closer inspection on you; you held a pocket knife.
“It’s not safe here,” he said aloud. “Head back to the cabins.”
“I hate it there,” you said. “I have to forget the militia life, even just for a moment.” You successfully hid behind the thick tree without relying on navigating your footsteps.
Reiner sauntered in careful pace. “Trust me, anywhere is safer than these woods. Titans lurk these parts every night.”
“I can take care of myself.”
“There’s nothing wrong with help,” he said, stepping closer to a thick tree she concealed herself with.
“You don’t have to show your face to me,” he said. “Come out, and I’ll help you.”
His ears caught your gentle sighs.
Surrendered, you walked backwards and shortly felt his hands rest atop your shoulders.
“You can trust me,” he said, ironically.
Pausing, Reiner felt you shivering under his touch. Reiner pulled his jacket out and placed it above your head.
Trust me, he said.
Underneath the jacket, he saw the shy glint your eyes. Although he’s joyous, his shadow nearly covered up your entire face.
“Don’t worry, I’m here,” he whispered aloud.
Both of you and Reiner giggled in relief.
A deep groan sounded through the trees, and there, the titan appeared. Reiner took your hand and ran as fast as he could, making way towards the cabins. The titan chased them, and your panic rises. Reiner appeased you as he retraced his steps to which direction he entered from. With the trees swayed violently and the birds flew, they knew they’re in deep trouble.
It took them long enough to reach the exit, and the scouts were alerted at the Titan’s heavy stomps. From there, the Titan has been annihilated, Reiner had his arms around you the whole time. When Commander Shadis saw what’s occurring, Reiner knew you and him in deep trouble.
Shadis spared no time to scold Reiner and you.
“What the hell are you doing in the forest? Didn’t I say that you are prohibited to stepped over into the woods?! Not only you left yourselves defenseless, but you also chose to be a Titan meal!”
Reiner’s neck slightly bowed. “We apologize, sir.”
“Apologies are unacceptable. For one week, you two will be in the stable duty for your disobedience and your incompetent performance! Until then, you’ll have to train harder and faster. I expect you won’t make the same mistake again!”
“Understood, sir,” Reiner complied as you softly said, “I understand.”
Even your head is tucked, Commander Shadis looked at you as an insufferable insect. Perhaps this is what calls a duty, or a certain care in order for you to be prepared for the events like this to make sure you don’t fail. Though it didn’t stop there.
“Go back to your cabins and get up early. You two will be doing duty as a soldier. But at night, you better damn well know how to handle the stables. Dismissed!”
~~~
“I’m sorry I acted stupid. I’ll make sure it won’t happen again,” you said in a fainted tone.
Reiner watched you in sadness. “Don’t be. A mistake can be fixed.”
He watched you halting your tracks and give him back his jacket. “Thank you.”
He chuckled, his golden eyes are shut. “No problem. If you need any help, you come to me.”
“I will,” you responded with bliss. As you took the first step on the wooden staircase leading up to your assigned cabin, Reiner grabbed your wrist and watched you turned around, but only your manes shielded your entire visage.
“Goodnight,” he said. And left, leaving you wondering.
~~~
Everything was perfectly usual in broad daylight, but everyone knew what occurred with Reiner. Everyone asked Reiner of the details, but he delivered none, saying that he wanted to stroll because he was bored. For Bertholdt and Annie, their reactions had made things difficult. Reiner has to keep up with a good image, otherwise, it’ll be stained. Then he thought about you, wondering if anyone asked.
Reiner wanted to see you again. Thankfully, Shadis both punished you and him. After the training and the exam sessions, Reiner paid you a visit in the cabins, but instead the girls he randomly once flirted were there.
“Reiner,” the girls were calling out to him, reaching down the steps to meet him.
“I hope you’re doing okay. That titan is unbelievably stupid,” the first girl said.
“Who are you looking for?” another girl asked.
“Have you seen Annie?” he said, lying.
“Annie isn’t here,” the third girl said. “Why? You need something from her?”
Reiner shook his head. “Suddenly I forgot what to say to her.”
“We’ll relay a message to her, if you want,” fourth girl insisted.
He settled a dismissal wave. “No need. I can say it to her myself.”
“We’re entirely familiar with Annie, but she looked scary,” the first girl commented.
Though Reiner ignored her careless remark and said his goodbye before he left to search for you.
The heat in his chest felt tighter as he goes farther to meet you. He felt unsure for a moment until the melody came.
His heart danced with relief as he followed the sound of your voice from the grounds to the stables. He went inside first, then as the melody grew louder, he went at the back of the stables, and behind the fence, Reiner saw you admiring the flowers nearby under the midday light as your lips tugged into a smile beneath a long cloak of hair. As you stood up, your eyes met his; your humming stopped. In a moment of abate, Reiner watched you. The cool breeze unveiled your face, still standing far apart. Reiner gripped his hand on the white fence as the sheepish look in your eyes weren’t there, replaced with a spark of confidence and familiarity, filled with spry and beauty basked under the afternoon sun. Like an angel basked in radiant sun.
Little did he know, Reiner found himself smitten in the hands of an Eldian.

“Yup..” cough ”that’s me.” You just chuckle as you’re starting to sit up him up.
“how are you feeling?” She asks him with her two braids with the ribbons.
“Could be better to guess.” He grumbled sitting up, and flinched when you have an egg in your hand. “You’re not going to squash that on my head right??” you just chuckled.
“No, I’m going to cook you and feed you to Los pollos.” She laughs and shakes her head rubbing the egg all over him slowly saying a prayer. “Why so tense?”
Jean was always tense for real. Maybe it’s the pressure of the military police, or is that how he is after witnessing death so much. “Why so nosy?” He thought it would be adorable to be such a smart ass. You rolled your eyes. “You have a lot on your plate…” she mumbled as she’s now cracking the egg into a cup of water. “Ahh I see now.” Jean looks at y/n with a dumbfounded face
“Let me guess i got a curse placed on me.” He snorts, starting to wheeze. And then cough. “No. You actually have empacho. A blockage.” She explained and made the young man prop up as she poured him some water into his mouth. As he’s just been feeling queasy. Nodding. Then hacking because of how much mint is helping him breathe through his nose.
“Gah!! What the hell!” You then respond ”is something wrong?”
“You mad mad woman you’re supposed to make me feel better not try to kill me!!” There he couldn’t help to hear you giggle, and then that giggle would turn into a cackle. A true laugh a man hasn’t heard.
“What? What’s so funny?” He cocks his head. As you calm down and sigh wiping your eyes. “This.” You breath as you make your finger into a circle. “This is funny.” You then just sit down in the tent. Reading and performing your prayer rituals. “I will be here for at least two days. Three days including today.” She smiled winking at him and then grabs the the big plants to smack him.
“Lay down.” You command him, and you sounded like you were on top of his case. He smirks at you. “Or what, Missy??” He gives you that arrogant smile haughty laughter. You just slapped him with the leaves since they are palm leaves. Stinging his skin..
Then it happened day after day. During those three days. He’s felt a connection with you. Mamacita. Homeboy even loves your cooking. So when he finishes. And it’s your last day. “So um. I wanted to say thank you.” He coughs out his thanks.
“Did I hear gratitude?” He rolls his eyes as a playful scoff escaped his lips. “W-what no.” He crosses his arms frantically like he’s panicking. And then reveals his flowers of tulips in his back pocket.
“These are for you.” You blush smiling all sheepishly and hop up to your step and kiss his cheek. He stammers and looks at you with a sheepish look that made him all smitten. “S-say, I was wondering… since you saved my life…? How about I get you a job on the force??”
“Is this your way of asking me to come with you?” You giggle, and you also said yes.

the day marley declared war on paradis island was surely a day everyone would remember. with the way eren jeager rose from beneath the stage in his full titan glory, it was almost as if marley finally would understand how the "devils of paradis" felt when they attacked first. the chaos all erupted so fast hardly anyone had any time to react before eren began fighting the warhammer titan. believing on marely territory they would win the battle, but they only ended up getting beaten to a pulp by the scouts of paradis with no help whatsoever from anyone else. that meant using all the titans to fight against eren, including the girl you were in love with, the warrior that was pieck. and nothing could have prepared you for what was bound to happen.
"gabi! falco! stay close with me!" you yelled to the two kids, running around on the cement while looking around at all the fighting happening above and around you. "shit, shit, shit!" you cursed, continuing to run.
the two preteens ran behind you, gabi with a rifle in her hands and falco trying to keep his head straight instead of looking all around like you were. thankfully, you were also equipped with a rifle you stole off a body, running while hearing the screams of civilians as the three of you ran towards the fight instead of the opposite way where everyone else was going. your knuckles were turning white from how tightly you were gripping the gun in your hands as your hair began to stick to your forehead from sweat building up on your skin. you couldn't believe this was happening. the people of paradis had attached on marely territory, meaning they had no fear of them having more titans, more military, more strength.
"y/n! where are we even going?!" falco yelled over the commotion around you all.
"we have to help the warriors!" you yelled in response, turning the corner and seeing the fight from the little alleyway you three were at. "damn it," you cursed under your breath.
gabi and falco were staring at the fight with wide eyes, in shock when you heard screaming from above, making your head shoot up at the rooftop above you, seeing fire and your eyes widened quickly.
"pieck!" you exclaimed, seeing the woman's titan fall from the rooftop as falco and gabi followed your eyes and yelled after you.
you quickly ran up to the titan as captain magath found gabi and falco, checking on them first before cocking his own rifle and firing up at the scouts from above who tried shooting down at pieck. when the girl emerged from the nape of the titan, all of the color in your face drained upon seeing her.
"pieck! we have to get you out of here!" you told her, hooking your rifle over your shoulder and wrapping your arms around her waist to pull her up and out.
"you need..to run," pieck said to you, looking up as the others shot at the scouts on the roofs.
"we're not leaving you!" you exclaimed, pulling her out of the titan and tightly holding onto her, "you're gonna be alright, i swear."
"don't shoot! please!" you heard falco yell behind you, causing you to turn your head and see a scout come at you with some sort of long weapon in his hands.
covering pieck with your body, the steam from pulling her out released and the scout missed the shot, making you let out a sigh of relief before jumping down with pieck still in your arms. "falco! gabi! get in a building now!" you yelled at the two kids.
both quickly nodded, about to run into the building before seeing zeke collapse in front of them. all of your eyes went wide at seeing the beast titan fallen, catching a glimpse of a scout landing on him and tossing a grenade onto the nape of zeke's neck. "get inside!" you told the kids, making them quickly run into the nearest building and hide inside.
captain magath had followed you four, telling you to watch pieck while he stayed with the two kids. you laid pieck down on the wooden floor, seeing the blood which made you worry if she would heal fast enough, not realizing how evident it was on your face until she spoke.
"it's okay...i'll be fine," she told you quietly.
"i know, i know. i'm still going to worry, though," you responded, sitting down next to her, trying to ignore the fighting outside.
a light chuckle came from pieck, making you turn your head and look at her confused. "you worrying about me? that's new."
"i always worry about you," you mumbled under your breath, assuming she wouldn't hear.
suddenly, you felt her hand grab ahold of yours, making you look over at her confused again only to see her smiling.
"always? that's definitely new. but why?" pieck said, tilting her head to the side. "if i'm about to die i would rather know now than never."
now you looked at her with light shock. knowing you had just accidentally tossed yourself deeper into this hole, you bit down on your tongue before sighing, using your other hand to grab onto hers before answering. "because i love you. i have since we were kids and we were warrior candidates but when you got picked and i was sent to be in the marely army, i gave up. i figured there was no way a warrior would want to be with someone normal in the military. but, the reality is that i was never able to forget you. so i rose in the ranks as much as i could so i could be on the battlefield with you. even if i could easily get killed, just being in the same presence with you was enough for me." you explained, looking down at the ground to avoid eye contact with her.
when you finally looked at pieck after a few seconds of silence, you were surprised to see her suddenly sitting up beside you. her grip on your hands tightened slightly and she smiled at you.
"well, if i had known that a while ago then i'm sure you would've figured out i feel the same," pieck said to you with a small smile.
now you looked at the girl confused, not wanting to believe what you heard. "you wha-"
you were cut off of your sentence by pieck leaning in and pressing a soft kiss onto your lips, resulting in your eyes going wide whilst kissing back a split second after you realized what was happening. when the two of you pulled away, you smiled at her brightly and pieck chuckled, patting your shoulder.
"don't get too excited, now. we still might not survive this," she told you.
"yeah, but at least if i die, i would die happily," you replied with a smile, your hand still holding onto hers.
"so cheesy," pieck gently pushed you, "are you gonna be like that now?"
"oh for sure, i've been holding it in for too long," you laughed lightly.
"great."
suddenly, you two heard someone clear their throat, and when you both looked over you saw both gabi and falco staring at you two with wide eyes like they had just seen a ghost.
"what was THAT?!"
"i don't know!"
"y/n and pieck LIKE EACH OTHER?!"
"APPARENTLY!"
the kids went back and forth bickering with each other, making you sigh from annoyance before pieck gently squeezed your hand, and you looked back over at her.
"let them have their moment, it'll only get worse with the teasing later," she said to you, leaning her head on your shoulder.
"good point," you grumbled under your breath.
"hey, y/n?" pieck whispered quietly.
"hm?" you hummed back.
"do you think maybe that, we're the devils and not the people of paradis island?" she asked.
"honestly...yeah. we fucked up. this is our punishment now."
"yeah, i guess you're right. even if we're eldians." she sighed, closing her eyes.
"yeah, but as long as i got you i think we'll be okay."
"cheesy, again."
"you love me, though."
"...i do."

Heyy 👋 can i request Chubby!Levi Ackerman x F!reader if it’s possible ? And thank youu ❤️!!
Tumblr media
(It took me SO LONG to find a plot for this! Anyway, Hope you enjoy!)
Chubby!Levi x F!Reader: Pudgy is Okay
~Normal POV~
Three years after the Rumbling had ended, the Eldian heroes’ had gone their separate ways. Armin and his group were currently on a ship heading to Paradis Island to visit Mikasa at Eren’s grave, as Levi stayed behind with Gabi and Falco to help the volunteers feed and shelter the remaining survivors. Although wheelchair-bound with two missing fingers and a blind eye, Levi was currently passing out candy and sweets to the children at the refugee camp. Once the box was empty, he wheeled himself back to his tent, indicating that he was done for the day since the sun was starting to set over the horizon. His mind wandered back to the events of the war as he rolled down the smooth dirt path, not watching where he was going until he bumped into someone’s leg with the chair’s footrest.
“Ow!”
Levi blinked back to reality and rolled backward as the woman in front of him knelt to rub at the spot he had hit. “Are you ok? I wasn’t paying attention…”
“Yeah, I’m fine…,” she spoke until she turned to face him.
His functioning eye widened a bit at the sight of her, utterly surprised to see her again from his first time in Marley with Hange and the others. It was when Eren and the brats decided to drink with the Romans after one of the kids had taken Levi’s money. He had spotted her sneaking blankets to several tents as if she was helping the people living in them. Even though she is a Marlyan. He didn’t catch her name that night, nor did he want to, at risk of getting her into serious trouble. So, he kept his distance and just watched as she did her thing.
The woman’s eyes scanned him down before tilting her head a bit to the side. “Have we met? You look familiar somehow…”
“Not officially. But, I think I saw you a few years ago. Sneaking blankets to the refugee camp?” he raised a brow, hoping his intuition was correct.
She blinked. “You saw that..?”
“I did. You did well in doing that. Risking your life for others makes you brave.” A minuscule smile tugged at his lips when he saw her cheeks go aflame. “The name’s Levi.”
“I’m Y/n,” she smiled a bit. “Shall I help push you to your destination?”
Levi pondered the offer for a moment before giving a nod in response. She walked around to get behind him and grabbed a hold of the handles of the chair before proceeding to push him down the path. The walk was silent other than the distant chatter of people and children running about. She often glanced at his bandaged hand, noticing the missing digits as a frown made its presence on her face. She couldn’t imagine the hardship and sacrifice he endured for there to be a future for the world’s remaining population.
“Hey. My place is right here,” Levi pointed, snapping her out of her thoughts as she turned him to push him inside.
There weren't many possessions in the small space, other than a bed, chair, blankets, clothes, and a pillow. Although he probably had all of his stuff back on Paradis, he surely wasn’t planning on going back anytime soon. She noticed a small box in the corner with a fragile tea set sitting on top of it. Levi grunted as he slowly rose from the wheelchair to move onto the chair by his bed. Y/n helped by being his support, having him hold onto her arm so he wouldn’t fall over and injure himself any more than he was. He sighed as he got comfortable and looked at her.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. If I may ask, how did you get injured?”
“It’s a long story…,” he trailed off.
“I have time. Even though we’ve all heard the story of how the war ended, I’d like to hear your version of it.”
Levi looked at her in slight shock. No one had asked to hear his side of the story, though he wouldn’t blame them since they probably avoided him due to his scars. But her? She didn’t even hesitate to ask, nor did she show any reaction to his appearance. Gesturing towards his bed, he watched as she sat herself down next to him as he began to tell his story. From the day Paradis had discovered life outside the walls they hid behind, to the day the war had ended as she listened intently.
~Timeskip~
Months have passed and the refugee camp is slowly starting to become a village. Houses were being built, trees had been planted, the grass started to come back, and people were getting more resources like food, clothes, and spare blankets. Everyone seemed to be in good spirits and began to plan a small party for their massive milestone. However, Levi seemed to be in a sour mood the last couple of weeks while avoiding Y/n like the plague.
Y/n doesn’t know what had gotten into him and it hurt her deeply. One night, they were both in his new place having tea as they talked, and then the next morning, he completely brushed her off. It confused her to no end as to why he suddenly started giving her the cold shoulder. As the days went by, the more heartbroken she was becoming, for she fell in love with him. But he won’t even look in her direction anymore whenever she attempts to get answers as to why.
Y/n was making her way down the familiar path going back to her tent after helping the volunteers with food portions again, when she had stopped in front of Levi’s place. Her heart ached at the thought of him as she held back every urge to knock on his door, even though she wouldn’t get an answer from him. Swallowing a lump, she continued her walk until she spotted someone in the distance. And that someone being Levi due to the obvious object of his wheelchair being in sight. However, he wasn’t in his chair, instead, he was attempting to do pull-ups on a bar that wasn’t there before. She watched as he struggled to get his chin past the bar since it was probably straining the hand with fewer fingers.
He cursed as he lowered himself into his chair, sitting there in silence while his head hung low on his shoulders. Y/n frowned and made her way over to him until she was able to hear him scold himself for his failure.
“Fuck. At this rate, I’ll get even weaker and I can’t let that happen.”
“Levi…?”
Levi snapped his head up and blinked in surprise when he saw her. His eyes furrowed into his usual glare at her, making her flinch a bit as her frown deepened.
“What do you want?” His words were cold like ice.
“I… was walking until I saw you here. What were you doing?” She hesitated.
“It’s none of your damn business.”
His words stung, and here she was concerned for his well-being despite how he’d treated her these last few weeks. It wasn’t like he wanted to in the first place. He fell in love with the woman in front of him and had planned to tell her his feelings. However, that one morning he had gotten his usual check-up to monitor his still-healing injuries. And he had found out that he’d been gaining a bit of weight. He couldn’t do his usual exercises like he used to back in the Scouts due to his knee. So, the lack of movement and the foods he consumed in the three years had taken effect on his body physically. His muscles were nearly gone. He didn’t have that toned body he worked so hard to get anymore, he was practically pudgy now. Even his cheeks were rounder. He figured Y/n wouldn’t want that in her life. No one else he knew wanted that, saying it’d be too much for them.
So, he pushed her away and started acting cold towards her. It hurt him to do such things when she didn’t deserve it. But he had to do something about his weight, and he would just make her worry to death for pushing himself too much. Looking up at her, his breath nearly hitched when he saw her upset expression. She was on the verge of tears, and it was all his fault. Y/n turned her heels to walk away but Levi grabbed her hand to prevent her from doing so, forcing her to stay put but keeping her back to him so he wouldn’t see her cry.
“Y/n, I… I didn’t mean what I said…”
“If you needed space, you could’ve told me… instead you pretend I don’t exist or become mean for no reason…”
He could hear her voice crack as she spoke, tugging at his heartstrings more than they were. He gently tugged her back to him but she refused to budge. Levi sighed as he glanced over at the bar he was previously using.
“I’ve gained a bit of weight as of late… so, I’ve been trying to get rid of it so you wouldn’t have to deal with it since you’ve helped me so much..” he admitted.
“Why would I care…?”
Levi frowned at her response and tried to answer, but was cut off as she continued.
“Why would I care about your weight…? Have you ever stopped to wonder if I ever cared about how you look?”
“I…” he trailed off.
Y/n finally turned towards him as tears bubbled her vision. “I don’t care if you're muscular or if you're bigger than what you were before. I fell in love with you as a person, not your body. But that’s all you cared about and didn’t consider my feelings when you brushed me off.”
“Y/n…”
“I-I love you…. but you don’t return the feelings…” she sobbed.
Levi pulled her closer so he could bring her into his arms on his lap. The sudden move made her gasp in surprise as she looked at him through her tears. He reached up to cup her face with his hand, stroking her cheek with his thumb while wiping away the tears in the process.
“I do return the feelings.”
“But-”
He shushed her with a finger on her lips. “I love you.”
With that, he removed his finger and pressed his lips against hers. The kiss was surprisingly soft and sweet as her eyes fluttered shut, returning the gesture as she cupped his face in her hands. Levi sighed into the kiss while he held her closer to his body, his arms wrapped around her waist as he ran his hands up and down her back soothingly. When he pulled back ever so slightly,  he looked at her through half-lidded eyes as their breaths brushed against each other’s, which sent shivers up their spines.
“I do love you… would you mind spending the evening with me?” he questioned.
“Of course, Levi,” she smiled with rosy cheeks.
With that, Y/n carefully got up off his lap, aware of his weak knee, and walked around to grab at his chair's handles to push him to their destination. Levi watched as he rolled towards his home, glancing back at her now and then to make sure she was alright. Catching his gaze on her, Y/n looked down at him and smiled before getting to his front door. Levi watched as she opened his door and pulled him through the doorway backward. Once the front door closed, Levi rolled himself through the house, making her follow him until they got to his bedroom.
It was getting late, so Levi decided to get ready for bed a bit earlier than usual. Y/n watched as he got into his dresser and pulled out a t-shirt and a pair of pants then set them on the bed. Her cheeks flushed when he started to unbutton his shirt. She went to leave the room but his voice stopped her in her tracks.
“Don’t leave… I… want you to see what you’ll be dealing with…,” he hesitated.
At that, she turned around just in time for him to slip his shirt off his body. No abs in sight, his arms more softer, and his face looked squishy at the cheeks. He had, indeed, gained some weight within the last three years, but that didn’t mean anything to her. He was still the Levi she grew to love. She stepped closer and cupped his face in her hands, watching them squish together as she did while he gave a pout. A blush crept up her cheeks at the reaction she got from him as he half-heartedly swatted her hands away.
“Stop that.”
“But it was cute~” she giggled.
“I am not cute,” he huffed.
Y/n just smiled and helped him out of his chair and onto his bed before helping him with his pants. Levi’s ears flushed as she did so, not used to anyone helping him, nor had anyone seen him with no clothes. When she saw the scar on his knee where a titan had bit him, a frown made its way onto her features as she gently traced the edges of the scar. A shiver ran through his spine from the feeling, hence that the injury was still sensitive to the smallest touch. When Y/n had finished helping him, she cupped his cheek once more, stroking under the eye he could not see out of.
“You’re still handsome to me, Levi, and your weight is not ‘something to deal with’. But if you still want to lose it, I will help and support you.”
He hummed at her words until he took hold of her hands and pulled her down onto the bed with him. He wrapped his arms around her waist while burying himself in her chest, letting out a sigh of contentment when he felt her fingers run through his hair until he started to drift to sleep. Y/n noticed his body had relaxed as his breathing slowed as she carefully shifted to pull a blanket over them both. Kissing the crown of his head, she too, began to fall asleep with Levi in her arms as she hoped for a bright and long-lasting relationship in their future.

Drunk Words, Sober Thoughts? (Cassian x Reader) - Part 1
Summary: You and the inner circle enjoy a night out at Rita's; after numerous drinks, a small fight, and a flight around Velaris, some drunken confessions are made. But are they true?
Warnings: drinking, swearing, violence, bit of misogyny/grabby male
After a hectic few weeks, you and the inner circle had planned to take the night off by grabbing a bite together before making your way to Rita’s. However, as the clock clicked closer to dinner and your final meeting of the day was no where near over, you knew you’d be running a lot later than expected. With a sigh, you sent out a message to Rhys, telling him of your hold up and to go ahead with the night, you’d meet them all when you could.
Three gruelling hours later, you finally managed to get yourself to the House of Wind with the full intention of calling it a night, plans with your friends be damned; the thought of a hot bath and your cozy bed already lulling you into a sleepy state.
Those plans were quickly taken away by the sight of a note stuck to your bedroom door in Mor’s elegant handwriting:
You better not be thinking about ditching us tonight. If you’re not at Rita’s by midnight, I will come back here and drag you there myself.
Love you!
See you soon xx
- Mor
With a sigh you peeled the note off the door and entered your room, placing it on the small table beside your bed before collapsing onto the mattress. You wanted nothing more that to stay there and wrap yourself up in the fluffy blanket Cassian had gifted you last winter solstice. But you knew Mor would be true to her word, and after a few drinks she would be even more determined to get you out.
You squeezed your eyes shut before heaving yourself up with another sigh, making your way to your bathroom to freshen up for what was sure to be a long night.
*****
Twenty minutes later, you found yourself outside of Rita’s, the place already packed with dancing fae. You weaved your way through the crowd, heading for your usual booth in the hopes of finding your friends but the only evidence that they had been there was the clutter of empty glasses spread across the table. You turned to the dance floor, hoping to spot at least one familiar face through the throng of people.
Luckily, you didn’t have to look long before spotting Cassian towering over the groups of revellers. Judging by the sporadic way he was dancing, you were certain he had consumer a large portion of the empty glasses that sat behind you. Before you could take a step towards them, Cassian’s eyes met yours and he broke into a huge grin as he called out your name. Your suspicions of his intoxicated state were confirmed as he bounded over to you, completely unaware of the poor fae he accidentally pushed aside.
“Y/N! You’re finally here. What took you so long?” he exclaimed before pulling you into a tight hug and spinning you around. You couldn’t help but grin back at him as some of your earlier tensions ebbed away as you were enveloped in his comforting scent, slightly tainted by the strong presence of alcohol.
“We need to get some drinks into you” Was all he said before grabbing your arm and marching you towards the bar. He managed to quickly grab the bar tender’s attention, “Cass—” You started as the shots were poured but Cassian just passed you one, mischief dancing in his eyes, before downing the other and signalling for another round.
You grimaced at the burning sensation in your throat, causing Cassian to let out a deep laugh before placing another in your hand. You raised your eyebrows, but he just grinned in response, clinking his second shot with your own before subsequently downing it. You followed suit, placing the now empty glass on the counter and pulling Cassian’s attention back to you before he could order any more drinks. “Let’s go dance!” You shouted over the music and raised voices. He gave you a look and opened his mouth, clearly about to dispute not getting you another drink, so you grabbed his hand and started towards the dance floor in search of the rest of your group.
Mor’s excited squeal resonated above the crowd as she pulled you into a tight hug. “You’re here!” she exclaimed, dragging you towards where Azriel, Rhys, Feyre, and Amren were dancing, Cassian following closely behind.
It didn’t take long for a high fae male to come up and start dancing behind you. Giving Mor a pointed look, she grabbed your hands and started dancing obnoxiously with you, offering an excuse to ignore and step away from the intruding male. He didn’t seem to take the hint as he stepped closer, grabbing your arm and turning you to face him.
“Let me get you a drink!” He shouted into you ear, you shook your head and went to turn away, but hands grasped at your hips, and he pulled you closer. “Come on, dance with me. I’ve been watching you all night, I reckon we can have some fun together.” The suggestive smirk he gave you had you recoiling, “No, I’m fine. Thanks” You tried to make your voice as flat as possible, making another shot at escape but still those hands were on you. “I said no—” but before you could get another word out, the male was pulled away by a furious Cassian, Azriel close behind him with his mouth pressed together and fists clenched at his side.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing? She’s clearly not interested,” The male just sneered up at him, a very brave thing to do considering the vast difference in both size and strength, “Well? Get out of here.”
The smug look on the male’s intoxicated face had you tensing, “I think, we can let the lady decide for herself.” He raised an arm and draped it around your waist, pulling you into his side. Your look of disgust as your shrugged away from him was enough for Cassian as he hauled the male further from you, the punch to his face sending him back a few steps. With worry etched across his features, Cassian turned back around just as the male lunged forward with an attempted punch that was quickly intercepted by Azriel. “That’s enough” He snarled before pushing the male away through the crowd and towards the exit.
Cassian approached you again, the scowl on his face and the way he tracked Azriel and the male told you he was longing for a reason to follow them out. Once they were out of sight, Cassian’s hazel eyes lowered to you, scanning your face for any signs of distress.
“I’m fine Cass, really,” You tried giving him a reassuring grin but could tell he wasn’t convinced. “Stop brooding, you got your punch in and now he’s gone. This was meant to be a night off so we could all relax, not start fights. I’m getting another drink, are you coming or not?”
Not waiting for his reply, you made your way towards the bar, ordering a drink for you and Cassian and then headed to the table where Rhys and Feyre were sitting.
“Where are the others?” You asked, scotting across the booth seat to make room for Cassian, who still looked troubled. “Amren left as soon as she deemed it socially acceptable, I’m surprised we got her here in the first place. Az said he was going to head as well; I think he wanted to make sure that prick didn’t sneak back in.” Rhys said, brows furrowing at the thought. “And Mor?” You looked around for your other friend as Feyre laughed, gesturing to the dance floor where you could see her wildly dancing – how she still had the energy, you had no idea.
*****
You chatted for a bit longer as you finished your drinks, finally deciding it was time to call it a night. Rhys and Feyre bid you both goodbye as they headed back to the River House.
“Ready to go?” You grimaced as you looked up towards your home. It was cold enough just standing in Velaris so you were dreading the freezing flight back to the House of Wind. Cassian just laughed at you, before scooping you up.
You honestly hated flying at the best of times and knowing how much Cassian had drunk during the night had a bundle of nerves settling in your stomach.
“It’s alright, I’m not going to drop you” Cassian’s breath brushed against your ear as he grinned but before you could respond he had lurched into the air, causing you to let out a shriek as you grasped tightly onto him.
Purely to annoy you, Cassian unnecessarily flew around the city, suddenly swooping down or flying upwards as he gradually made his way home. Your shouts of indignation only spurred him on, laughing harder as you clung to him.
When he finally reached the balcony and placed you down, you shot him an incredulous look before walking inside and beelining it to the fireplace.
“You do that every time!” Looking over your shoulder, you watched as Cassian plonked into one of the plush armchairs. “And have I ever dropped you?” “No. No, you haven’t but you’re drunk so—” Cassian interrupted you with a groan as he lent back, placing his hands over his face. “Okay? And? If we’re just stating facts, I’m also hopelessly in love with you, what of it?”
You were about to argue back, not that it was a real argument, every time you flew with Cassian he gave you something to complain about because the back and forth that followed was always so fun. But his words caught up to you and stopped you in your tracks.
“You’re in…Wait, what?” You whipped around to face him, not expecting to find the sheepish and guilt-ridden expression on your friend’s face as he stared up at you with wide eyes. "Don't tell sober me that I told you that. It was meant to be a secret." You just gaped at him, struggling to find the right words to say. “Cass… you’re drunk.” “You’ve already said that.”
You cursed the small part of yourself that jumped at his words, the small hope you had been clinging to for years. But, as you said, he was drunk and Cassian was an affectionate person at the best of times so surely he didn’t actually mean any of it, right?
Letting out a soft sigh and squashing down the disappointment that reared its ugly head, you looked back at Cassian shaking your head.
“You’re really going to regret drinking so much in the morning if you’re saying things like that, Cass. Come on, don’t you have to be up in a couple of hours anyway for training? Let’s get you to bed.”
You helped pull him out of the chair, directing him down the hallway and towards his room. Before you could usher him inside, Cassian turned to you with a look of contemplation.
“It is true though. I do love you. You're so perfect. How can anyone be so perfect? How could I not fall in love with you after being around you for so long?” A part of you ached at his words, still not daring to believe they held any truth, but as he lent down to place a soft kiss to your cheek, offering you the most sincere smile you’d ever seen before saying goodnight, you let a small part of yourself hope.
*****
You awoke the next morning to the sun streaming in through the window, cursing yourself for forgetting to shut the blinds the night before.
Throwing on a dressing gown, you trudged out of your room towards the kitchen in hopes of making yourself a cup of tea. Judging by the overall quietness of the house and the lack of clutter from a rushed pre-training breakfast, you knew Cassian and Azriel were likely still fast asleep.
You made your way towards one of the smaller sitting rooms, tea in one hand and your latest read in the other, opting for one of the armchairs closest to the fireplace with a view of the sprawling city below.
You tried not to let yourself think about last night, about what Cassian has said in his drunken state, but his words kept bouncing around your head.
So deep in thought, you had completely lost track of time and of your surroundings but the sound of someone clearing their throat behind you made you jump.
You turned around and found Cassian leaning against the doorframe, the dark circles under his eyes and his slight blinking as he came into the bright room was a telltale sign that he had seen better days.
You watched him, not quite sure what to say, or if you should even mention what he had said.
“Y/N,” Cassian’s voice was still heavy with sleep, and you tried desperately to not let it distract you as you sat up a bit straighter, waiting for him to continue. “About last night, can we talk?”

Valentines Day
Tumblr media
Danny x Reader (f)
Warnings: none
Opening the door to your little girls’ room, Danny walks in and softly says, “Happy Valentines my beautiful princesses!”
The girls sleepily sit up and rub their eyes. Looking at their dad through tired eyes, they see him holding out two roses for each of them. They gasp and jump out of their beds.
“Happy Balentie Day Dada!” The three year old says.
”Happy Vanetine’s Day Daddy!” The five year old shouts.
They both run to Danny, taking their roses and throwing their arms around him. He chuckles and hugs them back. “Okay girls, let’s get you dressed. Do you want to help me make a special Valentine’s breakfast for Mommy?’ He asks.
“Yeah!” They exclaim excitedly.
“Alright! Mommy is going to be so surprised! Let’s hurry and get you changed so we can make her breakfast before she wakes up!” He says.
Danny helps your girls get dressed in their special pink dresses with little white hearts. Once he got them dressed, he took them to the bathroom to do their hair. Marley, the three year old, got piggies and Aubrey, the five year old, got bunnies. Taking them both by the hand, they head to the kitchen.
“Okay, kiddos.” He says, clapping his hands together. “What are we thinking? Pancakes? Muffins? Omelette?”
“Muffins and omelettes!” Aubrey says.
“Muffins AND omelettes?” Danny asks. “Let’s do it!”
“Let’s do it!” Marley repeats, clappimg her hands.
For the next hour, they’re busy in the kitchen. The girls love helping mix the muffin batter and pouring it into the muffin tin. While the muffins bake and he makes the omelettes, Danny has them each color a Valentines card for you. When everything is cooked, he takes the girls outside to help pick flowers for you. It ranges from weeds to gorgeous lilacs. Bringing in the flowers, they put them in a vase for you. Plating the food and putting it and the flowers on the kitchen table, they all go to wake you up.
Creeping down the hall, they carefully and quietly open your bedroom door. Marley crawls up into the bed with you and plants a wet kiss on your cheek before saying, “Wake up Mommy!”
Slowly opening your eyes, you look at her and say, “Good morning baby!”
“Happy Valentine's Day!” All three of your loves shout.
“Happy Valentine’s!” You say with a smile.
The four of you all go into the kitchen and you see the feast made especially for you and the beautiful flowers hand picked with love.
“Oh wow! Look at this yummy food! Did you make this all by yourselves?” You ask, looking at Marley and Aubrey.
Marley nods and Aubrey says, “Well Daddy helped.”
You smile and say, “Well thank you so much for making me breakfast. Are you hungry?”
They nod their heads yes.
“Well then let’s eat!” You say before taking a seat.
Breakfast is filled with love and laughter. The girls telling you all about their morning and Danny chiming in every so often. When the girls finished eating, Danny sends them off to go play in their playroom.
“Thank you for letting me sleep in and for breakfast.”  You say as you gather all the dishes.
“It was my pleasure. You deserve to be pampered.” He says, taking the stack of dirty dishes from you.
“I do, don’t I?” You tease.
“Absolutely! So what would you like to do today?” He asks as he sets the dishes in the sink.
“Hmm, well I thought I’d take the girls to the Children’s Museum. Oh, and I was going to treat my Valentine to dinner at his favorite restaurant. But, he hasn’t asked me to be his Valentine yet.” You tease, wrapping your arms around his waist.
Turning around, he faces you with a smile. “I didn’t know I’d have to ask. So, darling, will you be my Valentine?”

Flufftober Day 5 - Domestic life

Tumblr media
Reiner doesn't remember when he started sleeping well, feeling safe, feeling good about himself. The only certainty he has is that it all started after he met you.
Marley and Paradis' war consumed him and wore out much of his life, from his childhood until he became a young adult. At first, Reiner could not adjust to his new reality after the rumble.
Clearly everyone was having a hard time starting from scratch, but for someone who had served as a weapon of war since childhood, it was much more complicated.
He recalls that he felt he had no purpose, even again he had begun to appear to be something he was not.
He was damaged, and the end of the war began to give him time to introspect. Damn, he really hated it when his mind decided to make him think during the nights.
He was falling into a deep pit and felt suffocated.
One day, after finishing those grueling hero tours of the world, he ran into you while walking to where he was staying.
That day marked a real before and after in his life.
He never thought he would end up married to you, but fate has always played unexpected tricks on him.
First it gave him the armored titan, then the right to a long life, now, who Reiner faithfully believes to be the love of his life.
You.
When Reiner began to realize that he really enjoyed sleeping, it was when you woke up next to him, maybe even before.
He remembers those nights of introspection, where his brain made him think that maybe, just maybe, he was falling in love. The famous butterflies he heard so much about had finally appeared inside him.
I could say that he started sleeping pretty well when he fell in love with you.
Remember also that cooking stopped being tedious and dreary, because sharing the habit of cooking with you even got him back into good eating habits.
Of course, Reiner's mornings were his favorite time of day. He would wake up and love to realize he slept well, but more he loved to feel you snuggled in his arms.
The best feeling he could ever feel in his life.
"Good morning" you say sleepily to him, you stir in his embrace. Your favorite place to sleep.
You feel lips resting on your forehead, unconsciously you smile.
Reiner begins to stroke your back, enjoying every moment.
After you were both fully awake and the morning cuddling was over, breakfast followed.
You were the reason Reiner was able to reconcile his eating habits and his relationship with the kitchen, so breakfast became one of the most important moments for him since he married you.
It was nice to be sitting next to you, both enjoying your coffees or teas, eating a delicious plate of fruit, toast or those delicious pancakes that Reiner had never tasted until the war ended.
Sometimes he lives with you in an intimate and serene silence, other times they talk in a relaxed way. Without the need to hide anything or make appearances.
In the dusty memories that Reiner does not like to recall, there is the constant of having lived locked up in a dreary and cold house confined in a grayish city and deprived of happiness.
Now, he walks in a small garden full of life in his own house made of wood. It is not very big or ostentatious, but it has everything he needs. It is warm, cozy and vibrant.
The hands he once used to get blood on his hands now weed the soil and prepare it for planting a fruit tree. Reiner snorts and wipes the sweat from his brow, he has been since early morning working in the garden.
His head turns looking for your figure, you have your back to him pruning the rose bush. He can't help but smile, he simply feels too much peace at being aware of the direction his life has taken.
His body slightly crippled from having been bent over for so long, he stands up, stretches a little and approaches you.
"Let's go to lunch" he surprises you with a kiss on your temple, his hand encircles you and ends up on your belly which he caresses causing you to tingle slightly at the softness with which his fingers run over you.
You smile and turn around to give him a short kiss on the lips. "I'm coming after you"
Reiner spreads his lips and turns around walking into his house, that cozy house he could firmly call home. He grooms himself wiping off his sweat and changing his clothes, then heads to the kitchen. He feels excitement every time it's his turn to prepare and serve lunch.
You appear behind him as he takes care of the dishes while you take care of the silverware and set the table in the dining room.
The two of you make a great team.
Then a few minutes later you are sitting around, chatting about the progress your garden is making. Reiner feels his chest swell with love, he still can't get used to this.
Is it real?
"I love you" he hears, the words echoed in his mind. His mouth closes and silence hangs over you.
His amber eyes and decorated with the wrinkles that age and war gave him rest on yours. He cannot read your face well, nor does he feel able to formulate a sentence. His heart begins to race.
"I love you, Reiner" you repeat. Your face smiles with a melancholic expression, after a few seconds of keeping your gaze on your husband you move your chair closer to be even closer to him. Your two hands rest on the hand that Reiner had resting on the table. You caress it and look closely at his wedding ring, the one that binds him to you.
Reiner watches your movements and gestures closely, not realizing that he has been holding his breath.
"Maybe I wasn't in a war like you, nor did I see people die" you continue with your crestfallen gaze on the wedding ring on Reiner's hand. Your voice seems almost whispery. "I didn't go through any of that, definitely. But... I was hurt, too much. I know you were just as hurt as I was"
Your breathing feels shaky, but you still continue. You finally turn your eyes to the man in front of you, you know he's nervous. You smile sweetly at him.
"I started to heal when I found you. I started to be happy" you finish.
There was a time before where Reiner only felt the weight of his crimes, of having murdered people, of failing to protect. Of snatching and being snatched.
It has been years of being tormented by those regrets and ghosts, but now, he experiences something new. You were the first person who filled him with sincere love, the first one who listened to him without judging him. You embraced him and took him out of that dark room in which he was trapped.
Now, he is becoming aware that he did the same with you without realizing it. He was the first to love you with sincerity, he listened to you without judging you, he embraced you and protected you from that darkness that haunted you for so many years.
"I love you" you say again. Your hand clings to his.
Reiner feels a tear slide down his cheek, your eyes are crystal clear as well. His hand momentarily releases from yours and then he takes it in both of his. He gently brings it to his lips and kisses your knuckles, caressing the back of your hand with his thumbs.
His face lifts up into yours, he smiles at you and finally moves closer to you.
Your mouths meet and you kiss slowly letting your emotions flow.
"I love you, you can't even imagine how much" he answers you.
You both laugh knowingly before kissing again. Your eyes begin to swell after a few stray tears.
It's real.
The two of you finish your sentimental lunch, clean up and tidy up. You have the afternoon off.
Reiner is sitting on the long sofa in the living room, reading a book, a habit he picked up not long ago. The sunlight filters through the window, giving it a pleasant illumination. On one side of him is you, semi reclining on the sofa and leaning against his chest. His arm is around you and keeps you tight against him, he has become accustomed to having you leaning against him, so the discomfort after a long time is less frequent.
You take your nap peacefully wrapped in your husband's arm.
And Reiner is simply happy.

In the year 845, four young adults are chosen to go to Paradis on their first mission. These four young adults consisted of Marcel Galliard who is the leader and the Jaw titan, is 18 years old. Reiner Braun, the Armored titan is 18 years old, Bertholdt Hoover, the Colossal titan, 18 years old, and Annie Leonhart, the Female titan, age 17 years old.
Their first mission is to go to Paradis and bring back the Founding Titan. They were preparing for their leave, and they waved to their parents and the crowd who was cheering for them. They left the Liberio Internment Zone, their departure marked by the gravity of an impending catastrophe.
As soon as they arrived on Paradis, they set out camp since it was late at night.
“Okay guys, we aren’t sure how long this mission will last, but we need to act fast if we want to return home quickly,” Marcel stated.
Reiner brought back some wood while Annie poked at the fire to keep it alive.
“What’s the plan?” Reiner asked, setting the firewood down, and Marcel laid out a map that he had received prior to leaving Marley.
“Bertholdt, with your Colossal titan, you will kick down Wall Maria. This will give me, Annie and Bertholdt a chance to sneak in amongst the chaos-” Marcel’s words were cut off as he looked up and saw a titan behind Reiner.
“Marcel?” Annie asked but Marcel acted quickly, pushing Reiner out of the way. Suddenly, Marcel was grabbed.
“Marcel!” Annie, Bertholdt, and Reiner yelled in shock. They had never been trained to deal with something like this before. Marcel, being quick on his feet, bit his hand hard since he couldn’t reach his knife. Yellow lightning cracked to the ground, and Marcel turned into the Jaw titan.  Marcel managed to get out of the grasp of the titan, biting its head off. He dropped to the ground, and looked at Annie, Bertholdt, and Reiner.
He saw the titans coming and he grunted, motioning his head, telling them to get on his back. They climbed on his back after putting the fire out. Marcel started to run towards the wall.
After a few minutes, they outran the titans, and the three got off of Marcel’s Jaw titan. Marcel pulled out of the nape of the Jaw titan.
“Are you okay?” Bertholdt asked, checking Marcel, and Marcel nodded.
“I am fine, none of you are hurt right?”
“Considering we can heal ourselves, we are fine,” Annie said. Marcel nodded.
“Why did you push me out of the way?” Reiner asked, and Marcel looked at him with a soft smile.
“Because I have the fastest reflexes.”
“But…”
“Listen Reiner, I am sorry.”
“What?”
Marcel looked at Reiner as they rested.
“You weren’t supposed to get the Armor titan, that was supposed to be Porco. But I wanted Porco to live  a long life, so I sabotaged my brother and influenced their decision to choose you instead,” Marcel confessed.
Reiner stared in shock, and Marcel couldn’t look at him and things began to get a bit awkward.
“Guys, we should rest for the plan to work tomorrow,” Bertholdt said nervously. Everyone nodded and they took turns resting to make sure no more stray titans got to them.
When the sun rose over the horizon, they started to wake up. They went over the plan one last time.
“Okay so to make sure I understand. Bertholdt will transform into the Colossal titan, break down Wall Maria, and kick it in, and then I will break the gate once fully in. This will give you and Annie a chance to sneak in through the gates,” Reiner went over the plan to make sure he understood.
“That is correct, we will meet up on the boats where they will go,” Marcel said. They nodded their heads.
They made their move getting closer to the walls. Bertholdt turned into the Colossal and the plan started. He peered over the wall in his Colossal, and kicked the wall in. When he did this hundreds of titans came running in sending people into a panic running for their lives. Marcel and Annie snuck in and ran as well, making sure to stay out of the way of titans getting to the gate eventually. They were kids and were able to get on the boat. They peered at the gate and Reiner burst through the gate before they could close it. Marcel and Annie were a bit shaken up. Even though they knew what they were doing, they saw too many people die, getting eaten by titans.
After fifteen minutes, Reiner and Bertholdt join in on their boat. They spoke nothing of the walls. They all were silent as the chaos surrounded them. What was probably the most peaceful island was now a battleground with mankind versus titans. Their hearts heavy realizing this was their fault, but that was a secret they would take with them back to Marley, no one would ever find out here that they were the cause.
