The Long-Ass Walk of Shame

Jennifer Walters/Hela (and off-screen Bruce Banner/Thor) for @marvelrarepairbingo 2024!

Jen’s afterglow is fading as she walks down the dim, draughty corridor lined with flickering torches. Even so, she can’t help smiling as she hugs the black satin dressing gown against her body. It’s not hers, but she might just keep it.

There’s only one downside to hot sex with an Asgardian goddess: the long-ass walk of shame down endless Asgardian corridors. Her feet ache from a night of dancing, her face aches from smiling so much, and… everything else aches in a very pleasant way.

Bruce probably noticed Hela flirting with her. Actually, everyone probably noticed. The Avengers had been summoned to a long, boring, official meeting that boiled down to “yeah, Loki took out half of New York but he’s very sorry and he won’t do it again”. He’d been imprisoned (for now), but Odin clearly didn’t think Earth was his problem. Tony sassed the crap out of him and Steve struggled to keep the peace. Meanwhile, Jen had stared at the gorgeous gothic princess sitting opposite her and entertained some filthy daydreams.

Hela, the goddess of death, had long black hair and eyeshadow that belonged at a rock concert, with a deep and sultry voice. She seemed equally bored by the proceedings. Perhaps that was why those grey eyes had finally locked onto hers. Then her pale lips curled into a smile.

A/N: I know absolutely nothing about the regency period so please take everything I say with a grind of salt. Also, this is a very mix of fluff but it’s definitely not whump (I don’t think) it is certainly different. I enjoyed it all the same and I actually think I like the Peter Quill/Bucky pairing.

Bucky’s not in love with Tony Stark, he refuses to be, that’s unlikable it’s unreasonable to be in love with somebody of a much higher class. Instead, he sits across from his best friend, his hand held into Sir Peter Quill’s hand in the formal lounge.

There are smiles on their individual faces trying to convince one another that this is fine.

“Your house is quite lovely, Sir Quill,” Tony says in that sweetly sickening voice that out of the four of them in the room only Bucky understands. Stephen, Tony’s partner who he actually loves, nods along with his newly wedded husband, “I suspect you must have brought it for such a sum,” Stephen enquires.

The strange thing is now Bucky and Tony are in the same class, they are no longer little kids fighting with dirt and getting told off by their mothers. They are wedded men, the next perfect housewife who doesn’t clean because they have a staff who does that, and they certainly don’t assist their husbands with work because that’s not their job. Instead, they have times like this, drinking champagne and tea, while maids flitter around and collect dessert plates and the mess they leave. 

 Quill smiles at his new groom after only getting down on one knee merely weeks ago, Bucky happily said yes because there wasn’t quite any other way to respond to such a proposal. Peter happily complimented Bucky anyway, “well James had quite a lot to do with it, I wanted to put a pretty roof over his head that he could decorate, he has quite the eye for colour palettes.”

James hears Tony scoff at the way Quill uses his real name and Stephen must hear it too from the way he visually tightens his grip on Tony’s forearm. 

Tony knows that the reason Bucky understand colour is because of his brother's passion for art, the passion Steve never got to pursue because he didn’t get as lucky as Bucky, marrying instead to his wife so they could have a next of kin to continue to support the household needs. A small backyard wedding that Bucky got invited to but never did make it to. 

As Stephen straightens his posture he tries to make it so Tony’s previous mutters mean nothing indecent, “will have to have James over to see what we can do with our humble abode,” the humble abode Stephen talks about is actually Tony’s mansion that was left to him in his parents will, which since marriage is now Stephen’s property. 

Bucky stands up with a smile still on his face because he knows Tony loves Stephen, infatuated still despite Stephen’s protective nature, “I would love that, what are friends for after all.” He plays it off politely kissing Peter’s cheek and grabbing his bag, “I have to pop out to do some things for the house but I hope we do this again.”

With that, he steps out of the lounge room and hastily moves towards the front door once there he sucks in the fresh air and breathes.

He pulled her up from the blanket, Gwen giggling as she fell into his chest. He laughed into her neck as she clung to his sweater. “Dance with me,” he whispered. She tipped her head back to look into his eyes, blinking heavily against the dim evening light. Peter grinned at her and began to sway, and she let him move them in slow, sleepy circles. “But Peter,” she whispered back, crossing her wrists behind his neck, thinking about anything and everything but tomorrow. “You can’t dance.”  He gave her an offended look, and she couldn’t help but laugh again. Peter sighed against her lips. “I just want to forget, Gwen.” He brushed an Eskimo kiss against her nose. “I just want to remember you.” The sun was setting over the lake in front of them. The music from her radio was an echo haunting the air around them. She acquiesced. Gwen let herself fall into his arms, one final time.

Pitching a Tent

Bruce Banner/Thor for @marvelrarepairbingo2022​ (I3: Things That Go Bump in the Night)

Summary: Bruce sneaks into Thor’s tent on the Avengers’ camping trip. Neither of them are good at keeping quiet.

Rating: Explicit

‘Ah, Banner.’ Footsteps approach. Bruce looks up to see Thor, wearing a red chequered shirt and jeans and looking like a woodsman who just stepped out of a fairy tale. He nods at the tent. ‘May I assist you with your erection?’

Bruce grins. ‘Maybe later.’ He glances towards camp, but no one is paying them any attention. Natasha appears to be demonstrating how to kill someone with a can of beans. ‘Actually yeah, could you help put these pegs in? I can’t get them to stay…’

Thor unhooks Mjolnir from his belt, kneels down and hammers the pegs into the damp ground. Whilst he works, Bruce admires the way his jeans hug his ass. ‘Will that suffice?’ he asks, sitting back on his haunches.

Bruce peers inside the tent. Half of the interior isn’t quite resting on the ground. ‘Not sure it’ll stand up to much… punishment.’

‘No matter. It is not the tent I shall be punishing tonight.’ Thor shoots him a sultry look that makes Bruce’s pulse quicken. It’s going to be a long evening.

Malibu is different for Sam, especially in the winter, since the house rebuild and the remodelling Tony suggested they come out for a weekend trip, away from the tower and the team just purly Tony and Sam. Despite it being Tony’s idea Sam can still find him in the lab over the 3 days that they stay in the winter, they always have dinner and go to bed together but it is peaceful to do their own things during the day.

Just maybe not today.

“Come watch a flim with me?” Sam leans on the labs door, looking at his boyfriend with adoration in his eyes, as Tony walks through the lab, headset on, black shirt, musles on point (which is a physical gain for Sam).

It’s not their annivevasary, nobodies birthday, but yet it feels like a special moment between them as Tony looks toward Sam. It’s sweet that even when they are in malibu and away from work so Tony can do whatever they want Sam can still convince him out of the lab. “When did you become such a film consour?” Tony teases turning off the holograms infront of him, taking off they ear pieces that control the nanobots of his newest suit.

Smiling Sam moves closer Towards Tony, bith of them meeting in the middle of the lab, “I haven’t had much else to do while we are here, and I thought I should take advantage of the cinema.” Sam brings his arsm around Tony’s shoulder, “I think you should take advantage of it with me,” Sam smiles brgiglht brushing his noes against Tony’s. 

It doesn’t take much more convincing then that.

Tony smiles kissing him on the cheek, shutting down everything around him, “sounds like a plan.”

They sit down to watch Snow White as Sam declares that it should be their new years revolution as couple they should watch every disney movie, Tony just laughs. 

“So we are starting with Snow White then?” Tony questions sitting down on a recliner cinema chair, monovouring his popcorn and drink to make sure they don’t spill at the couple sits down. 

Sam corrects with a smile, “Snow White and The Seven Dwarves, actually,” it’s casual as he begins to munch on popcorn before it all even begins, leaning into to Tony’s embrace. The movie rolls without them even needing to ask JARVIS, opening on Snow White singing by the well.

Tony is shocked as Sam is crying in his arms as Snow White is placed into the glass coffin, but then something changes, the prince shows up and it’s not prince, well he is in prince gear but he looks a lot like Sam. The camera shift towards the coffin where Snow White is to lay but it isn’t Snow White, it’s a guy, a guy in very similar resemblance to Tony Stark. Prince Sam wakes up Prince Tony and the movie stops as Prince Sam gets on one knee, and Tony is so confused by the movie that he doesn’t realise that real life Sam does the same thing.

Tony on the screen seems frozen in time as he’s only just woken up and now the prince he had been destined for is proposing to. 

The screen zooms in, lonney toons style and Prince Tony winks at him as the screen reading, ‘To Be Continued’ and it takes until them before he looks down a hand flying to his mouth. Sam is on one knee aswell, a ring box in his hand, opening up to a gorgeous gold ring with a ruby jewel encrusted into it.

“Tony from the day I met you I saw a future with you, once Rhodey introduced you as a menace I knee that I wanted you to be my menace. I wanted you to annoy me everyday, and have the experience of attempting to get you to sleep and sleep beside you in a much comfier bed then a camp single.” Tony is crying now, because the ring is beautiful and the speech is gorgeous, and Sam put so much effort into the proposal and the movie and it is very much them.

“Tony Stark will you be my menace, my partner, and my best friend for life? Will you marry me?”

Tony nods with a whispered out, “yes!” Which leaves Sam jumping for joy into Tony’s arms placing the ring on his finger, “no we’ll have to get you a ring of you own,” Tony tells Sam, happy to have his finance in his arms, and the ring doesn’t way him down as much as he thought ut ever would.

Sam smiles kissing Tony once again, “sounds like a future plan.”

Sweet Dreams

Thor and Bruce regularly have nightmares. The solution: sleeping together. And if they accidentally wake up cuddling? Well, that's just fine too.

Bruce knew he wouldn’t be getting any sleep tonight.

It had been an utterly hellish day, beginning with an Avengers alert at 4am and culminating in a long and harrowing battle including an unplanned Hulk-out. Bruce had endured the post-battle lunch, and the debrief, and the movie night, feeling like he wanted to claw out of his own skin. But he smiled and nodded in all the right conversational places, and remained sitting on the couch until everyone else went to bed.

Well, everyone except Thor.

A storm had been brewing all evening, and Bruce gazed out of the window, watching the rain fall. ‘Something on your mind?’ he asked eventually.

‘No.’ Thor had been pacing up and down for the past hour or so, twirling Mjolnir. The faint whistle was doing nothing to help Bruce’s growing headache.

He rubbed his eyes in irritation. ‘Do Norse gods sleep, or are they usually too busy drinking and celebrating?’

Thor looked up sharply. ‘Of course we sleep. I thought you were supposed to be intelligent.’

Bruce blinked back at him.

‘That was rude. I’m sorry.’ He stopped his pacing. He sighed. ‘I… have slept little of late. It tends to make me ill-tempered.’

‘Bruce tapped a finger on the back of his hand. If he kept tapping, he couldn’t doze off. In theory. ‘I don’t sleep much either.’ Even though every inch of his body was begging for rest, he couldn’t give in.

Thor’s scowl softened. ‘Why not?’

A/N: I actually loved this, and joining the marvel rare pair server was incredibly inspiring. Somehow it's day 4 and I've written nothing else but what I've previously posted. I am okay with that.

Rhodey convinces his boyfriends to join him in replying to Tony’s mother's note to join them for Thanksgiving. At least the bed is big enough for the four of them until they can get a hotel that is.  | James 'Rhodey' Rhodes/Tony Stark/Steve Rogers/James 'Bucky' Barnes

“You want to do what?” Rhodey thought Tony was crazier but is becoming apparent that his boyfriend's boyfriend is trying to kill himself. Steve Rogers is skinny as a pin and is always shivering in classes yet, “it is snowing outside and you want to sneak out! There is a snowstorm going on the roads are closed, Steve!” All Rhodey is trying to do is get the subtle point across that no, he does not want to freeze to death in the middle of November.

Tony and Bucky the two other boyfriends in their interesting quadruple situation have going on are both lying on Tony’s ridiculously large bed, under the covers clearly trying to get sleep. “Can you keep it down? Howard will hear you and then we might actually end up in the blizzard.” Rhodey knows Tony is right because unfortunately he’s seen Tony’s father do it before to them both, it was especially hard when Tony came out. This time they were actually let into the house which seemed like an achievement to both, especially seeing as Rhodey dragged along Steve and Bucky with them. 

Bucky sits up, resting his head back on the plush headboard, that Mairia had replaced Tony’s old wire one when they changed it to be another countless guest bedroom. He sighs running his hand through Tony’s hair “can you remind me again why we didn’t just go to your mum’s place James?” That’s also something that is taking a bit of use to, James and James, for once Rhodey is thankful for Tony’s excessive use of nicknames. 

“Maria wanted to see Tony,” “that didn’t mean we had to come,” Tony reminds them all for what seems the millionth time and they only got to the Stark mansion at 10 am that morning. Rhodey pulls Steve away from the window and drags him to the bed getting underneath the covers with the others two, the four of them only just fitting. 

The bed lays Steve, Bucky, Tony and Rhodey from left to right and despite how cold and the snowstorm outside it’s extremely warm between them all. Tony rolls over to face Rhodey in the bed kissing his head, “thank you for the thought,” despite it the cold and the journey and the very fact that there was still a part of them all that thought they wouldn’t make it in the door it’s fine. It’s slightly encouraging to think that when Howarsd saw the 4 of them he wasn’t immediately sent away packing again like they expected him to be. 

Maria’s letter to the dorm room didn’t mean much to Tony, but to Rhodey it felt like that maybe she was accepting them. 2 Christmases ago when they were both freshmen Tony didn’t think it was such a big deal because he had been bringing guys home for years but apparently Howard had thought it was a phase and MIT might teach him something. It didn’t work and they were turned away at the door.

Rhodey thought this might have been an apology. It just turned out to be a really bad idea. 

“I can try and book a hotel?” is really the only solution that Rhodey has for solving the situation he has put them all in.”

Steve just rolls on snuggling into the mattress more, “isn’t this already basically a hotel?” He asks sincerely because it is incredibly cozy and Jarvis promised to bring them all coffee and breakfast treats in the morning. They laugh because it’s true and because there is nowhere else they’d rather be.

Marvel Rare Pairs Secret Santa 2022

Looking for a little holiday cheer to give and receive this year? Do you love Marvel and all of the potential rare pairs you can play with? We still have a day left to sign up for the Secret Santa gift exchange. Fics starting at a minimum of 500 words, fanart, mood boards, creative ideas! Come have fun making someone's heart happy this winter, and be made happy yourself!

Autumn is upon us and our very first Marvel Rare Pair Bingo 2022 is still going strong. Winding down from the summer fun, we enter into the month of September bustling with activity as our participants are full of creativity and sharing these great works for September. But I switched out the color aspect, instead  your world remains gray even when you meet your soulmate, but you can see flickers of color...but it's often triggered by a strong emotion or trauma.

Marvel Rare Pair Valentine's Mini Bingo

I always enjoy writing rare pairs that are especially close to my heart. This whole community is brilliant and I loved working with them and bouncing ideas off of each other the sprints we completed made me 20x more productive. I am ecstatic to start working towards my full-size bingo card and this was a great mini-taster for that.
