ULTRAKILL CHARACTER LORE: Aisling the nun (the abbess). The woman who was damned alongside the angel Asbeel.

Aisling lived during the time that humans had to completely evacuate and were living on the Earthmovers, towards the End. As one of the few remaining spiritual/maternal figures, she became responsible for many of the children that were left. Because of the chemical hazards/radiation/unclean air, all citizens wear hazmat+gasmasks, an attempt to avoid contaminated dust/air. Aisling does all she can for her people, but knows that they are doomed. She tries regardless. By the councils definition, Asbeel is 'weak' to the suffering of humans. Her outrage at the fact that the angels are standing by has to be repressed. She is drawn in by Aisling's desperate prayers for the survival of her dependents, for their safety, for a better tomorrow. Aisling's determination in the face of inevitable starvation after the long war made earth unsuitable for human life is compelling, her passion for her people drawing Asbeel like a moth to a flame. They grow close, and over time communicate in a series of letters, to conceal their interactions, each more drawn out then the last. Despite this, Asbeel is eventually caught for 'favouring' the community with 'unlawful' use of Holy Light. The Watchers (the snitches) track every usage of holy light, it's difficult to avoid their inspection, and every one of her infractions was recorded. She tried to intervene in quiet ways to avoid detection, blessing their struggling plants; just barely enough that they fruit. She would cleanse the irradiated, chemically contaminated rainwater the skies wept. As the Earthmover began to prioritize it's own systems for survival in the face of dwindling light sources, human associated systems are categorised as NON-ESSENTIAL to the AI's survival. Their water is dependent on what they can collect. Aisling was not a young woman and would been long-dead without Asbeel's intervention. Her radiation aggravated tumours were only held at bay by Asbeel's Blessing. When Asbeel is confronted by the Council, all of whom are staging outrage at her for going against God's supposed Will of humanities demise, Aisling is accused alongside her. She has to fight accusations of Bewitching Asbeel for blessings, for leading her Astray. This is designed to make Asbeel launch into denying this claim, in turn the Council uses the denial to accuse her of being Compromised with Affection (for a lesser being, a mortal, no less.) Asbeel cannot deny this, and cannot deny her rage before accusing the Council of their willful disregard. She is of course, immediately accused of blasphemous heresy. Alongside whatever litany of sins the council gleefully assigns to her actions. She pleads with Gabriel that he knows this to be wrong, blinded as he is by the Councils lies, led into their frenzy. Asbeel pleads to her Brother to understand.

Gabriel severs her connection to the Light and Asbeel falls alongside Aislings Soul into hell, succumbed to the absence of Asbeel's blessing.

i’m actually so obsessed with your exo art and exo ocs to an extreme degree, is there anywhere you’ve written more about them?

first off, thank you for the interest in them!!! quick note, i only own one exo, everyone else belongs to my friends (i will note which belongs to who!). i've actually braced myself for the day i get this kind of ask because frankly i never write, i like making pictures on vague concepts alone. we all don't have a concrete 'story' or setting for them, these exos exist and we put them in situations and mash them together like barbie dolls for fun in discord DMs

stubborn, grouchy and blunt. despite his battered and exhausted look, he's extremely resilient. he could take better care of himself though. he has a strained connection with the light, some limbs (left arm and leg) don't regenerate well on rez and his control of the light is unwieldy.

audax is a lightbearer but not associated with the vanguard. instead, he's employed under spider's syndicate as a mercenary. coworkers with vespula.

The Baddest Bitch in the Tangled Shore™, hired muscle for spider's syndicate, intimidation is her middle name. has opinions on her favorite soap operas.

standing at 6'10 and a brick shithouse, she's an effective bodyguard. if that doesn't make her menacing enough, her thumb, middle and pointer fingers are sharp talons from the Karnestein armlets integrated in her forearms. you can hear her arrival by the loud as hell engines on her illegally modified sparrow.

in our minds, nell and casey both exist in the universe of vanishing point (the "project" thingy caseys supposed to be part of i promise shes actually in a story and doesnt just spend all day fucking around with nell)

so how they actually meet is after the hypothetical not real first volumes of their comic books that dont exist (vp and ladybug volume 1- MILLIONS sold, the people want more)

so theyd actually officially meet in ladyba vol 2, cuz caseys story in vp just ends with her being arrested and then she doesnt show up again

they meet through a prison pen pal program and nells like enraptured by caseys inability to keep her fabricated tragic backstorys to gain sympathy straight,...? or something? so he takes them home like taking home a dog about to be euthanized at the shelter and they start living together right after casey gets outta prison. not really out of the kindness of her pure noble heart, she really sees casey like a science experiment or pet project in rehabilitating a "super"villain. or like mold

Im gonna try and articulate a thought here so forgive me if this is nonsense but like..... i dont think shipping is the evil of all evils like some people on tumblr like to pretend it is. So many people gripe about the "shipping culture" in fandom like its literally the only thing fans do when that's just like. Patently untrue.

For God's sake, discourse about the themes and writing of different fandoms is like one of the biggest subcultures, not only on tumblr, but on the internet as a whole. There are a litany of video essay youtubers who spend hours talking about the themes, politics, and underlying messages in fucking vampire diaries and The Extended iCarly Cinematic Universe.

Like, kids have been mashing their barbies together since they were in single digits. I for sure made my barbies and kens get married. My first ocs (which were dragons and were very cool thank you very much) were a couple who were in love. That doesn't mean i wasn't ALSO crafting the most fucked up politics and plots that my eight year old brain could think of. Liking it when fictional people kiss doesn't preclude anyone from also understanding the nuances of the source material. Do they always engage with it? No, but that's also not exactly a crime. There's no wrong way to be a fan of something.

If you think fandom culture is solely about and focused on shipping, i don't think you're looking very hard.

Hey Friedrich!! I’m actually gonna use your ask as an excuse to make my feelings on the subject known. So if you’ve followed me for a sec you can probably tell I read almost anything. Ghouls, papas, reader insert, OCs—I love it all. I think Terzo x Copia x Reader was some of the first Ghost fanfic I ever read and it’s still one of my favorite dynamics. I’m greedy. Sue me. (Regression is probably the only thing I don’t jive with but you truly could not pay me to yuck someone’s yum. Won’t ever do it.)

I don’t make papa x papa rec posts solely because I do not want to open myself up to anonymous hate. I honestly feel really guilty about it (because the writers/artists deserve so much better) but I am just not in a place where I could handle that kind of negativity. Hopefully that will change down the road. Maybe people will start to calm down about papa pairings—especially when it is almost always explicitly stated that they are not related hellooo? This is not the Supernatural fandom? There is no Wincest happening? Don’t like; don’t muthafuckin read?

These old Italian men and their ghoulish underlings are our barbies to mash together as we see fit. Sometimes Ken is Barbie’s boyfriend and sometimes he’s her brother. I truly do not understand the discourse/hate. If you find it icky just use tumblr’s filtering feature or exclude the tag on ao3. It’s not that complicated. I would like to remind folks that it’s also canon that ghouls are former papas. We are allllll picking and choosing what “lore” to believe at this point.
