no AI art or fic can be submitted for inclusion in the AO3 collection

at least one character should be from One Direction, and that character should be a girl. There’s no limit to how many characters you genderswap– they can all be women! It’s up to you :)

Since this rec list will be posting on February 1, aka the first day of Femslash February, I wanted to take the opportunity to highlight some of the wonderful genderbending that goes on in this fandom! Submit your fave Girl Direction fics using this form. Any and all ships (or no ships!) are welcome to be submitted.

I am defining Girl Direction as having at least one member of One Direction identifying as a girl -- it can be all five (or as many as are in the story), it can be just one, it can be anywhere in the vastness between. Trans girls/women and non-binary characters that at least sometimes identify with femininity are included; trans boys/men and non-binary characters that identify solely with masculinity or other/no genders are not (though I have trans/enby characters as a potential future category -- fill out the theme suggestion form if you want to boost that theme up the ranks!). Cis men who explore femininity are also not included in this category.

Her body was tense from the sudden touch on her knee, and she wondered if something was up. Louis normally goes looking for her hand or arm during their movie dates, that's unusual.

Louis smiled mischievously as Harry gave them a quizzed gaze. That smile sent an electric feeling through Harry's body. Then Harry remembered. Louis was very much aware of her teenage fantasy.

Harry has been a waitress at the Waffle House in Pigeon Forge, TN since she was nineteen. At twenty-five, she's settled into the routine of it enough that it feels like home, but for the past few months there's been something making it feel even better: the return of Louis Tomlinson, her high school crush.

On this particular Summer night, Louis stops by for a visit and the two of them share a table in a slow moment as Harry does a bit of side work. It's sweet in more ways than one, so much so that Harry has a hard time letting herself believe that it's real.
