The channel 5 interview with the Qanon shaman is genuinely so fascinating. Not necessarily for the interview itself, but for the comments.

Andrew really does treat this dude with a level of humanity I don't think he got from the rest of the media. Andrew just kinda allows him to speak his piece while knowing that the Channel 5 audience is primed to listen to the interview through the very specific lense of "this dude is a fucking weirdo and we shouldn't take him seriously."

The comments are shockingly empathetic. There are so many people lamenting "Man, he seems like such a nice, normal guy until he goes off the rails." Or "Man, I had a friend like him who went this exact sort of insane once he fell down the conspiracy rabbit hole."

Andrew even gives him some small but direct pushback on the antisemitism, very gently probing him with "hey a lot of this stuff is based in pretty horrid antisemitism, you seem like you're aware of that, but how do you square that?" And you can watch his brain route around the contradiction in real time with "Well, people accused the Jews of doing what The Occult Elites have been doing for centuries." And then you can watch him try to get as far away from the topic as possible by launching into a rant on the Black Cube of Satan conspiracy theory.

Within a Conspiracist mindset, all things are connected. No two data points are unrelated. One of the effects this has in practice, is that every belief you add to Your Personal Conspiracy Belief acts as another pressure relief valve for cognitive dissonance. I think Qanon hit some sort of critical mass, in which it's so comprehensive that it becomes significantly harder to escape, even by the standards of conspiracy theories.

Considering they've announced multiple time-jumps for season 5, and how they've repeatedly showed pictures of military vehicles/towers/barracks (as well as photos of the Radio Station and Hawkins Memorial Hospital), I'm suspecting S5 will be structured like an actual war.

By that, I mean the conflict between the Upside Down and the U.S. Military/Hawkins will happen over the course of multiple months instead of the traditional week that previous seasons have adhered to. This means we're probably going to see mass casualties compared to before.

I'm sure the Hospital setting will play a major role in Max's story (since she's still in a coma), but I also predict it'll be used both as a base of operations in the fight against the UD and to house the wounded/injured. I'll speculate in a separate post about which main characters are safe vs in danger of dying, but considering this is the last season and they need to up the stakes, I could see the possibility of the Duffer Brothers killing off several main characters for narrative effect.

As for the Radio Station: Same thing with it being a base of operations. One of my mutuals @spaghettificationandpretzels also suggested the idea of there being a "shock jock" character (like the title for one of the episodes) running the radio station who spreads misinformation/conspiracy theories (similar to real-life figures like Alex Jones) and could act as a hindrance to the main characters. They did a similar thing with Jason in S4, so I see that as a possibility, as well as a way of adding relevant social commentary to the show.

On a final note: I'm curious if the teens will still be attending school in S5. Hawkins High School didn't look damaged when Vecna opened the Gate, but I have a hard time imagining the military would be okay with allowing students go there (or to Hawkins Middle School) if it posed a hazard and a security risk. If anything, I'd imagine they would quarantine Hawkins and relocate the residents to a safe location while they dealt with the problem.

Firstly, thanks so much for your patience! I wanted to give a really comprehensive review, but therapy kicked my ass yesterday. Then, I left my computer charger at home, so I did most of this post on my phone. Oof!

Alright.

The claim that endogenic has been used to fakeclaim DID systems is, perhaps, a bit of a misnomer on my part. Has it been used that way? Yes. In medical spaces, however, it has been more often used to fakeclaim trauma based disorders in general.

The sources here are a combination of what various people have found on this topic, as well as my own research -- predominantly these sources are from others, as they’ve done a LOT of research that I frankly don’t have the chance for right now. (Also, apologies if I don’t have everything italicized or formatted correctly for citations -- I’m not used to APA. MLA for life, sadly).

The Trinity of Trauma: Ignorance, Fragility, and Control by Ellert R.S. Nijenhuis: This book goes into detail about how trauma has been viewed throughout the centuries, discussing topics such as hysteria and how people fakeclaimed trauma via endogenic theory. It’s a really comprehensive view honestly! I unfortunately can’t find a good accessible copy at the moment (the price point of 109 dollars on Google Play is a bit hefty), but here’s a few choice quotes with their pages listed:

(Page 38-39) “Freud’s theoretical conversion of a predominant endogenic interpretation of trauma and hysteria (sexual abuse → sexual overstimulation, deferred action, repression → hysteria) in an extreme endogenic view (Oedipal sexual wishes → fantasy, repression → hysteria) had major clinical implications. Not sexual overstimulation, but sexual desires were being repressed; not the free-floating unconscious sexual affect, but Oedipal sexual desires had to be brought to conscious awareness. And because these desires are essentially of a biological nature, the essence of hysteria would also be biological.” This is to say, Freud popularized the theory that people were traumatizing themselves due to their own biological desires to fuck their parents; this view of trauma was saying that the disorders we know today to be caused by trauma were all biologically caused. It’s the basis for the Fantasy Model.

(Page 157) “Many World War I psychiatrists also took a one-sided endogenic explanatory route by claiming that soldiers who broke down had a weak mental and moral will.” This is to say, endogenesis, as an idea, was being used to explain away the effects of trauma on the brain, deeming those who were struggling with their traumatic experiences to be weaker than those “normal” people.

(Page 158) “Another revived historical idea involves a contemporary variety of a particular mix of endogenic and exogenic causes, that is, the idea that dissociative symptoms and disorders are due to the patient’s fantasy proneness and suggestibility (endogenesis) in combination with suggestive, illness-inducing or illness-reinforcing actions of other therapists and the media (exogenesis). These thoughts have been influential, but individual views and facts can be opposite (see Chapter 15). An attempt by some proponents of the so-called sociocognitive model of DID to erase DID as a mental disorder in DSM-5 failed.” This is to say, the sociocognitive model of DID (that lovely, lovely model that assholes like to try to use to complain about people with DID existing online) is based on the idea of endogenic (biological, “from within”) fantasy proneness (the fantasy model of DID) and exogenic (influence that is not from within, but is not traumagenic) factors led to dissociative disorders existing.

All this to say, Freud’s endogenic theory led to the mass fakeclaiming of DID systems. Freud’s pseudosexual theories, which relied on endogenic causes of trauma, led to the idea that it was the traumatized individuals’ own self (their endogenic body/mind/person) that led to them being traumatized, rather than the world around them being inhabitable (an exogenic factor).

This shows clearly that the term endogenic has been used against DID systems since Freud’s time, since before DID was even a term. Endogenic theories were used to try and remove DID from the DSM for crying out loud -- that’s pretty severe. This idea is also based particularly in the ableism of the time and the desire for Victorian abusers to hide their actions; after all, if Freud stuck with his original trauma theories, that would be outing a lot of abusers as being the way they are. His theories shifted with the political and social norms of the time. It’s a shame to see the term come into resurgence, then, and stumbling across it as a medical term fakeclaiming my trauma when I try to research my disorder. It felt strongly, when I first encountered it, that the term endogenic was being used to claim that non-traumagenic systems were experiencing the same thing as my disorder, but they were doing it through fantasy -- the idea that one could develop DID through just… imagining it. This is an incredibly harmful reiteration of the fantasy model, so you can understand where some of the hurt and pain comes from.

Of course, this was not the intention of Lunastusco when they “coined” endogenic. It’s a really very unfortunate case of someone not doing a lot of research into a term, and I will say, I fully don’t expect someone to know this unless they’re actually… y’know… seeking this information out. Unless Lunastusco looked specifically into how endogenic had been used in medical spaces, I highly doubt they’d have found anything. They’ve also gone on record to say that they regret not being more proactive with the label, and that they only did about 30 minutes of research into the label before applying it (I would cite that number, but it seems the original post where they stated this has disappeared into the ether. I had no luck finding it.)

The issue being that, rather than acknowledge that endogenic has absolutely been used to fakeclaim DID and trauma-based disorders, many major pro-endo syscoursers push the idea that this is an “anti-endo lie.” But the sources are right there, so… take what you will.

At the end of the day, it’s very clear that the term endogenic isn’t meant like that, at least not in its modern majority usage in the community (more on this later).

But Freud didn’t say “endogenic!”: A common argument I’ve seen is that Freud didn’t use the term endogenic. And, well. Technically, I guess you’re right — he spoke and wrote in German, so he didn’t use endogenic. He used endogen (and various conjugations of the term based on the tense and gender of the discussion). The translations appear as endogenous frequently, as endogenic and endogenous are the same thing; Endogenic causes are endogenous in nature. The terms are used interchangeably.

Personal Connection: There are more sources than this, obviously, which SysmedsareSexist has compiled on a post of mine about this topic. It’s actually where I found most of the quotes already from this post, as he and (I assume) the mods there did a lot of this legwork around October. This has actually been a discussion for some time in syscourse spaces, passed off as an “anti-endo lie” by major syscoursers. I was told repeatedly that I was making this up for attention, that the term was never used, that I was moving goalposts by translating things from the original german, that I hated endogenic systems for using the term endogenic, and that I was demanding apologies from people for using it.

… Yeah. I have something of a personal connection to this argument. Here’s a link to the post from October when I summarized my points, and where SAS laid out all of their sources. It’s far more comprehensive than my explanations here, and shows the usage of the term for decades, well before Lunastusco coined it in 2014.

Slightly To The Left of Fakeclaiming: This is more tangential, but I wanted to include modern versions of the way endogenic systems or pro-endo systems have utilized articles about multiplicity to fakeclaim DID, intentionally or otherwise. This isn’t quite the same as them using the term Endogenic to fakeclaim trauma-based DID, but there’s similarities that I’ll go into.

This post as well as this post go into my debunking of Normal Dimensions of Multiple Personality Without Amnesia. This article is commonly cited as “proof” of endogenic plurality, but what people who don’t read it don’t realize is that it’s fakeclaiming DID systems. The entire end of the article fakeclaims a diagnosed case of DID, suggests she imagined her trauma, and falls back on false memory foundation ideals. Seeing this touted as “proof of endogenic plurality” is similar to saying “DID systems are secretly endogenic and are imagining their trauma.” I doubt people are trying to do this, but… as a DID system, it fucking sucks to see. Given that this idea is based off of the Fantasy model, which… is based off of Freud’s endogenic hysteria theory… Not a great resource to use.

This trend of people seeing the term endogenous/endogenic and thinking it immediately means non-traumagenic plurality being proven continues, as A Jungian Perspective on the Dissociability of the Self by Brian R. Skea is the next article on my debunking series list. It’s another one that’s been given to me to prove endogenic systems exist, and… frankly, it’s been hard to get through. The quote I often see passed around is: “In actual fact, Jung, early in his work, minimised the impact of exogenous trauma on complex formation, emphasising more the endogenous trauma caused by conflictual fantasy. He also focussed on the capacity of the psyche to split into different personalities or systems of consciousness as an aspect of normal, that is, supposedly non-trauma-related complex formation.” The… endogenic trauma “caused by conflictual fantasy.” You mean. Fantasy model? Woohoo.

This… whatever it is, came up while I was trying to research the models of how DID can form -- you know, how the disorder, unrelated to endogenic plurality in the slightest, develops -- only for the argument here to be “we need a multi-factor model that doesn’t use trauma as heavily because the Fantasy Model makes some good points.” Ough. I can only access the abstract, sadly, but the reason I put it here is because I then promptly tried reading over this article that was given to me as “something written by an actual plural system, who was actually recognized as a system in the authorship!” and it struck me as. Eerily similar. I don’t think it’s intentional that these authors use the same language as the more fakeclaimy “the false memory foundation had good points” article, but it’s unfortunate again how much these languages overlap.

Lastly, as little as this counts as a “source,” there are so many systems with the personal experience of being fakeclaimed as “being endogenic.” I’m one of them and have spoken about this frequently on this blog. I was pressured for years to identify as autigenic and was told repeatedly by pro-endo systems that I “wasn’t traumatized enough” to have DID. This isn’t the term endogenic being used medically, but rather, the fact that people use endogenic plurality as yet another way to fakeclaim DID systems. Now it’s not “you’re faking because your trauma isn’t real” -- it’s “you’re an endogenic system because your trauma isn’t real.” Thankfully, it’s not much of the community that’s like this anymore, from what I’ve seen, and usually, it’s people in denial of their own trauma that I see telling traumatized people that their trauma isn’t real.

BLACK HOLES ARE THE SOURCE OF DARK ENERGY??

A controversial new theory suggests that supermassive black holes that lurk at the heart of most large galaxies could be the source of dark energy, the mysterious force driving the accelerating expansion of the universe.

Black holes could explain a mysterious form of energy that makes up most of the Universe, according to astronomers.

The existence of "dark energy" has been inferred from observations of stars and galaxies, but no one has been able to explain what it is, or where it comes from.

The stuff, or matter, that makes up the familiar world around us is just 5 percent of everything in the Universe. Another 27 percent is dark matter, a shadowy counterpart of ordinary matter which does not emit, reflect or absorb light. However, the majority of the cosmos – around 68 percent – is dark energy.

The new evidence that black holes could be the source of dark energy is described in a scientific paper published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

The study is the work of 17 astronomers in nine countries and was led by the University of Hawaii. The collaboration included researchers in the UK, based at STFC RAL Space, The Open University, and Imperial College London.

Searching through data spanning nine billion years of cosmic history, the astronomers have uncovered the first evidence of "cosmological coupling", which would mean that the growth of black holes over time is linked to the expansion of the Universe itself.

The idea that black holes might contain something called vacuum energy (a manifestation of dark energy) is not particularly new and in fact was discussed theoretically as far back as the 1960s.

But this latest work assumes this energy (and therefore the mass of the black holes) would increase with time as the Universe expands as a result of cosmological coupling.

The team calculated how much of the dark energy in the Universe could be attributed to this process. They found that black holes could potentially explain the total amount of dark energy we measure in the Universe today.

The result could solve one of the most fundamental problems in modern cosmology.

Our Universe began in a Big Bang around 13.7 billion years ago. The energy from this explosion of space and time caused the Universe to expand rapidly, with all the galaxies flying away from each other.

However, we expect that this expansion would gradually slow down because of the effect of gravity on all the stuff in the cosmos.

This is the version of the Universe we thought we lived in until the late 1990s, when the Hubble Space Telescope discovered something strange. Observations of distant exploding stars showed that, in the past, the Universe was actually expanding more slowly than it is today.

So the expansion of the Universe has not been slowing due to gravity, as everyone thought, but instead has been accelerating. This was highly unexpected and astronomers struggled to explain it.

Big shit theory time as I take an all nighter from internship, horrendous health for the past 3 months and in general just not having energy to even draw.

Is Asta an Anomaly or The Universe's Lifeline?

Allow me to elaborate.

Lucius has been HELLA adamant about Asta being a flaw/anomaly/abomination but all of this is based on Asta being manaless and Asta not being seen in all of the timelines Lucius saw.

The thing is, we saw from chapter 360, that Lucius, while in stasis while Julius went around doing whatever, CANT see the events that transpire in the 20ish years that he's away. Ironically, this being chapter 360, it essentially shows that Julius isn't all seeing and his future visions aren't 360 degrees. It's likely that, rather than seeing the WHOLE future, he sees the future he will experience, not the futures of others.

Julius mentions his magic is to "steal" futures/time as well. Essentially, it sounds a lot like weaponised life span stealing, which Licita has.

However, Julius remarks that this is his magic, whereas Licita has it as a body condition. Whether this condition is because she has a hereditary curse like Henry or because she believes it's that because she has no other explanation, we don't know.

There might be a distinction between life/magic and futures. In the case of Julius, rather than stealing someone's lifespan, he might actually be stealing looks INTO their futures. The reason I bring up Licita is because its likely Licita isn't necessary a human who HAS a future, and Asta might be the same. Or rather, a future that happens more often than not.

The thing is, Lucius' assumption of Asta being a flaw isn't wrong, but its not correct either.

Asta has no mana yet continues to live. Mana has been often times seen to be intertwined with fate, especially as Vanessa's Rouge has been shown to tamper with fate.

If Asta has no Mana, he has no connection to Fate, meaning any future he has will never have the same outcome. As a result, Asta is always in near death scenarios, many of which could go wrong at a moments notice.

Lucius can't see into a future with Asta because no future Atsa has is the same, and thus Lucius can't get the common equivalent of his fate. Asta could've died in MANY scenarios and any battle he was previously in. Many major developments in his life could've happened, not happened or replaced by different scenarios, leading him out of the timeline he's in into a new one.

Right off the bat and prior to the Star festival at 90 fucking chapters, Asta could've died at the grimoire ceremony by Revchi, in Saussy, in the dungeon, in the attack on the Capital, in Nean, in fucken Raquey against Vetto and in the Witch Forest at least THRICE. Against Lucifero ALONE, HE COULD'VE DIED 5 TIMES OVER.

Asta is EXTREMELY prone to near death scenarios. The possibility of him dying in each one is high and it wouldn't be ridiculous for Lucius to see timelines where Asta died early, and thus, affecting the people he'd fight against.

It's very clear in chapter 360 that the reason the magic Knights are holding up a lot better than Lucius expected or ever foresaw is because ASTA has lived long enough to affect the world on a grander scale.

The thing is, Asta affecting the world and the people around him on THIS big of a scale isn't something natural. Hell, him being summoned by a mass Fate Gate from Hino may imply that, the longer Asta lives, the stronger his effect on Fate itself.

Asta, because he's not tied to any concrete future, has the ability to passively/actively bend Fate with his actions. The longer an unseen variable exists, the more the equation changes.

The question is, is Asta's longterm effect on Fate an anomaly or an inherent trait? If Asta's fatality rate before he turns 18 really THAT high, what's keeping him alive for so long in this case, other than his own stubbornness?

There's 4 ways this can go:

1. Asta is Black Clover's Madoka, in which his death is so tied in with the stability of the world, that him dying just resets the timeline over and over.

2. Asta's survival in this timeline is entirely based on the fact that he is manaless. In other cases, if Asta was born with magic, his fate would've been set in stone as he had mana and was connected to Fate. Asta being born manaless may let him narrowly avoid death BECAUSE his death can't be written into fate as he has no mana for it to be tied in.

3. LICITA is the real anomaly, and her giving birth to Asta is a butterfly effect of unbridled proportions. There's a reason why there's so much fog around the circus that is Astas conception and birth, and if Tabata is using Licita as a Chekhov's Gun to reveal some fucked up shit, its gonna be due to how he was born.

4. Asta physically cannot die. He can be near death as a physical person, but he straight up cannot die from his injuries. Asta had been told by Mimosa that it was a close call when he got stabbed in the stomach but Asta also had a whole HOLE in his chest and then floated around the ocean until he washed up on Hino and then laid in the sun for fuck knows how long. Asta not having mana means he physically cannot die, and the reasons surrounding that might be more demonic than not.

All in all, it's just a lot of questions in how Asta managed to survive this long, outside of his own refusal to die. Is it simply a trait of his soul, an inherent trait, a fucked up ability or just straight up being wrapped in a whole bunch of weird shit? If anyone knows, it's Tabata.

Ok, a theory about how Doll actually could theorethically come back in the show by entirely normal means, no Solver fuckery needed.

I have seen on quite a few times the statement that she is definitely dead because her core got eaten but I don't think that's right.

From both J and N getting their heads blown off we can see that they're actually dead from it. The heads aren't just sensor platforms for them, if they were just that you would be blinded but very much still capable of moving since their both of their cores were very much undamaged. They were not moving. The heads is where the part of them that does the thing is, just like with humans.

What we can also see from J is that the Solver-infected core isn't even controlled by them but by seemingly a local copy of the Solver AI. From how easily N was restored and the Eldritch J hoping to restore her host I assume there is at least a complete back up in there but that's still a back up, a thing you pull out when the primary thing stops working. Nori I think may be the special case here, since the Solver got patched out of her I gather the back up in the core was in full control of herself the whole time.

We can also see on quite a few occasions that the exact same applies to Worker Drones. One of the Elliot butler drones get apparently killed via stabbing to the head in EP 5 while in EP 4 V also headshots a student to the same effect. In fact, Doll's own parents(ie. known V handiwork) pretty distinctly also got a shot to the head each, pointing to how it very clearly is the place to go for a fatal shot. The Solver-infected core seems to just be an extra option of survival for DDs and Solver Drones.

Quick sudden new theory intermission; V's psycho persona really started from her being keen on taking out both the processor in the head and checking on the core. It started as a paranoia thing disguised as sadistic play and then it became sadistic play with a practical aspect she kept secret.

So Doll's actual processor, her actual mind may still very much be intact since her head was not eaten up. She could simply need a new power source, a new core.

It is also just now, while writing the above triumphant paragraph that I realised I should maybe check that scene and from the looks of it; the head was undamaged after Skyn munched the core and jumped N and Uzi as I remembered, later however I can't spot the corpse and it's possible it got dragged in by the Solver? IDK, since if it did, it got into the same spot Uzi is in, so by proxy I think my point that Doll's head is recoverable stands.

I gotta adress the spooky snake crab in the room here; If it's do easy then why all the classmates, WDF troops and other drones who didn't get their heads outright obliterated are dead? I admit that this kinda gives me a bit of a whoopsie because I sort of realised the issue half-way through this essay and idk how to approach it.

Maybe they're not dead at all? Mass fakeout death doesn't sound to me like the style of the show but who knows. I don't think there was any definitive statement that this is impossible. Sure Uzi acted certainly like she killed all of her classmates but she was speaking in the heat of the moment, maybe she was shocked and it simply wasn't on her mind that recovery from what she did to them is possible. Since I just linked it from my main blog anyway, I guess this would be a good time to do a State Of The Union for the colony. I usually do some kind of summary a week or so into each colony, but never got around to it for this one.

The fine seaside orphanage of Robot's Ocean is fucking huge now.

We've got multiple nested layers of defensive walls, a world-class temple and rec room, three geothermal generators, a tidal generator, a solar generator, a full natural gas helixien system for heating and cooling, a greenhouse, a genetics lab with an extensive gene bank, space for 5-6 prisoners to live in comfort, and enough freezers to keep about a year of food on hand at all times. And an in-colony hot spring, most importantly.

The colony's currently worth is about $400k, which is $50k more than any of the previous ones have hit, so it probably isn't a coincidence that I've needed to burn two antigrain warheads on recent attacks. That growth has stagnated a bit, which is fortunate, because as combat goes we're about at our limits. On the upside, we now have something like seven combat owlbears, a Scyther, a Tunneler, a Tesseron, a Centipede Blaster on the way, and of course Yoshiko's pet thrumbo Chiyo.

On the other hand, after investing about $15k into building and upgrading Spencer only for it to die trying to get to its bedroom, we're pretty strapped for cash. And we need some, because the map is just about mined out, and all of these robots and endgame weapons require a lot of materials. Unfortunately the map being mined out also limits our options for producing trade goods. The current plan is to mass-produce... corsets. If you haven't played the game just trust me when I say that this is a sensible plan, but we'll need to do a lot of hunting to make it work.

Following the terrible Tactical Nukes In The Hospital incident, I've rearranged things a bit. The short version is that we've only got one outdoor orbital targeting beacon now, and it should steer most drop pod raids to a less terrible location. Will this help much if another group shows up with a dozen rocket launchers? Hell no. Eventually I'd like to set up one or two extra beacons as decoys.

The population is currently 8, which is just about the lowest it's been in years. These kinds of things happen when four colonists get blown up in one evening.

Yoshiko "Happy" Russell

is, of course, a forever-22 psychic cyborg vampire foxgirl who controls robots with her brain. (Her actual effective age is now 34, but the game doesn't care about that.) She's currently undertaking her Dark Slumber in her Chambyr of Bloode for the next day or two, as one must when they are a vampire.

She's good at fucking everything now. (And good at fucking too; she's got an implant for that.) Her lowest skill is Plants at a 9, or 'solid professional.' She's rated as Expert or better in Shooting, Melee, Construction, Animals, Crafting, Art, Medical, Social, and Intellectual. She has 827 kills, 34 mechanical implants, maxed psychic potential with 10 psychic abilities, and wields a sapient EMP sledgehammer named Nalorgargur. Thanks to being a vampire, the only way to permanently kill her is to destroy her brain. With so many implants, I think the only other ways to even incapacitate her in combat are with an EMP or by destroying her liver. In theory you could make her bleed out too, but she's effectively immune to that. (You should go for the brain thing anyway, because she has pretty good body armor under that parka, but still insists on wearing a beret instead of, like... a helmet.)

Truly she is... the ultimate lifeform.

Toby Lang

Man, this makes for some real mood whiplash. I mean, look at him. There isn't much to say about Lang.

He was found in the wreckage of a space battle a few years ago. He spends all of his time cooking, doing doctor stuff, or handling the colony's pet rabbits. He's no good in a fight. Yoshiko adopted him and he adores her as much as is physically possible; her opinion of him is 7/100.

Actually though, Lang does have one solid accomplishment under his belt. During the last Diabolus fight, all of the blood bags prisoners staged an escape. Everybody who was good in combat was off doing that, and Lang was the only person nearby. So, he grabbed a shotgun and did surprisingly well at controlling the situation. By which I mean blowing their brains out. Can't get any blood out of them like that, but it's better than having them set the base on fire on their way out.

Saburo Richards

Listen, I can't stress this enough. He was like this when I found him. Unlike everyone else, he's an Animusen, a natural foxboy by birth. What benefits does this give? Well, uh. Not any, really. He's fast in the cold and slow in the heat, which was nice before the climate's average temperature got bumped up by 18F.

Richards is still 12 and I'm really hoping he gets some fantastic growth at 13, because he isn't good at anything. For whatever reason, he apparently gets really abusive when he's in a bad mood, because every mental break he's had has been an insulting spree. So most of the colony has opinions of him like

In fact, Olga and Yoshiko are the only two who would even be sad if he died, I think. Yoshiko, of course, adores him.

Raymond "Raywolfen" Wolfen

... has to be the most colorful kid here, as a slug person who was raised by wolves and then crashed outside during a space battle. Don't let the sprite fool you; the game just doesn't know how to render how fucked up she looks. According to her genes, she's got the body of a slug, but covered in scales, with the face of a fox, slug-style eye stalks, and constantly secretes a foul-smelling substance that decomposes corpses. You'd think that being a hideous slug/fox amalgam who smells like rotting bodies would be horrible for her social life, and you'd mostly be right, but Yoshiko adores her. She didn't even adopt her or anything. This happened naturally.

Raywolfen's only really good at combat, but that's okay, because we desperately need that right now.

Ben "Bush" Nitsiza

... is another adopted son who recently turned 13. He's great at melee combat, and got two mechanoid kills while horribly sick with the flu last night. He's... decent at crafting, art, and research. We're working on it. He's not decent at social stuff, but he's the preacher anyway. For now, at least.

Bush actually gets along with everybody else pretty well, which is surprising for somebody with the traits of 'snob' and 'too smart.'

Cindy

... is a sapient mech (it/its) that has only been around for half a year, as part of Yoshiko's ongoing quest to find true love. (This isn't working out very well.) As a hunter-killer mech, Cindy's only really good at combat, and is incapable of... most other things. It's decent with animals and research though, and is slowly learning how to do medicine too.

Cindy is currently flirting with Yoshiko about once every few days, which would be cute if it would just wait until Yoshiko considered it more than a passing acquaintance. It'll work out some day though. I'm sure of it.

Dae-up "Nerd" Kim

Is it fair for me to blame Nerd for the fact that he was chased here by pirates with rocket launchers? Probably not. But it still happened, and it got four people killed. And Nerd's a completely amoral kid who tortured small animals when he was little, so I'm not gonna pretend that I like him. I genetically modified him to be good at mining, so he could mine out the collapsed rocks that trapped Sora as he burned to death. Take some responsibility, you little prick.

Most of the colony likes Nerd, but he's really rooted in his intensely xenophobic ideology, so he hates almost everybody in return. The one person he actually likes is Yoshiko, and that's only because she's ridiculously pretty.

Nerd's actually pretty competent, unfortunately. He's great at mining, crafting, and medical. He's pretty decent at construction, and he'll pick up art fast if we find the time and resources for him to do much of it.

Olga Keuneke

... is 11 and a pretty recent arrival, so there isn't much to say about her. Unlike certain assholes, the trouble that she brought with her was a machine that warmed up our Siberian-ass climate, so I already like her. She's got a huge passion for animals, but she isn't learning much about it because she's not skilled enough to work with our animals. You can't start out by training predatory owl monsters that weigh half a ton.

"In his 2002 dissertation, Dr. Pan Yue, the current commissioner of China’s Ethnic Affairs Commission, proposed that a mass migration of 50 million Han people to Tibet and Xinjiang would simultaneously address three major problems confronting China: overpopulation, demand for resources, and the problem of ethnic and religious difference.4 Pan, who became the first non-ethnic minority commissioner of ethnic policy in the history of the People’s Republic of China in 2022, suggested that Han migrants should be considered “reclaimers.” The “backwardness” of the frontier he suggested had become a danger to national security, fostering terrorist and extremist activities. He called on China to learn from a trifecta of contemporary colonizers: the United States, Israel and Russia. Taking elements of each as a model of how contemporary China should further colonize Tibetan and Uyghur lands, he suggests that the Western expansion of settler colonialism in the United States and Russia’s imperial settlement of Siberia, should be combined with the more contemporary example of Israel’s controlled deployment of West Bank settlers and infrastructure in Palestinian lands. 

Finally, drawing from a model that draws on China’s post-Maoist legacy of state-managed economy and export-oriented development, and I argue, coincidentally mirroring aspects of the economy that provided a paradigmatic example of racial capitalism, Apartheid South Africa, Pan proposed that minorities should be proletarianized through assigned industrial labor. In his study, it was clear that Pan wanted to combine a land grab with the dissolution of the Maoist system of ethnic minority autonomy within a socialist political and economic system. He was thinking comparatively about the world system of global capitalism not as an object of critique, but as a way of understanding mimetically what China’s place should be with in it. 

Part of what this implies, I argue in this book, is that Pan’s “post-ethnic” framework called for the abolition of the limited protections of difference that the Mao era had fostered, and—as to some extent in the U.S., Russia, and Israel—the replacement of civil liberties and autonomous claims for Muslim and Indigenous citizens, with markers of an imagined evil, the figures of the terrorist and the proto-terrorist, the non-secular “backward” other. Recalling Apartheid South Africa’s “color bar,” Xinjiang’s Muslim reeducation and assigned labor system should be thought of as a kind of “Muslim bar,” a legalized racialization of ethno-religious difference that holds in reserve the majority of positions of managerial and ownership power for Han settlers. 

Pan was explicitly looking to the capitalist-colonial past and present, because taking this comparative move seriously is also to take seriously China’s position within the global world system. In what follows I will think comparatively with Apartheid South Africa, and the Marxian world systems theory elaborated by Cedric Robinson (1983) and others that emerged from analysis of it, to show that racialization is an essential part of the global process of on-going original or primitive accumulation.5 This suggests that racialization—as an institutionalized process supported by the police, the law, the school system, and so on—is not simply an organic outcome of transhistorical process or an effect of particular political formations.6 On the contrary, it is a historical feature of global capitalism and the imperial economic expropriation—or legalized theft—on which it depends. 

Produced as a Terrorist

The account of one of my Uyghur interlocutors, someone I’ll call Abdulla,7 and the way his life path was redirected and shaped by the structural factors I describe above demonstrates what all of this means in everyday life. Abdulla was just one of the dozens of Uyghurs and Kazakhs whose stories shape the narrative of this book. Though many of the other Muslims I interviewed and observed came from lower class positions and had less formal education than Abdulla, many of the things I observed in Abdulla’s story happened to them too. His fast transfer from the camp and unfree labor system to neighborhood arrest and a return to medical school, are the primary differences between him and others. And these differences, which can be directly correlated to his near perfect Mandarin elocution and his practice as a physician’s assistant who was just two semesters away from receiving his degree as a medical doctor, demonstrate how finely graded the system of Muslim racialization and how it is reproduced.

Abdulla, like nearly all Uyghurs I met in the city, came from a rural village in Southern Xinjiang where Uyghurs formed a supermajority of over 90 percent of the population. For his first 18 years, all of his life happened in Uyghur. Then he arrived in the city as a college student and was confronted with world of Chinese. The first born of a village teacher, he knew from a young age that he wanted a life that was different from the farmers he was surrounded by. This is why he poured himself into learning Chinese and English, watching the entire Friends TV show on repeat. He wanted a Uyghur version of that fictitious life. To do this he understood that he had to present as urban and secular, he had to shave his moustache, wear clothes from the Chinese shopping mall, and speak in jocular Chinese with Han colleagues. At the university he studied biology and science in Chinese, preparing for a career in in the Chinese medical system. But at night, he and two other friends from villages near his hometown, studied English. In the space of several years, they became so fluent in American pop culture that they started their own English school training hundreds of other Uyghur villagers to speak the language of American TV and imagine a world outside of both the Uyghur and Chinese one they grew up in.  

His students and friends gave Abdulla the nickname “suyok,” meaning he moved like water, flowing effortlessly from one social scene to another, codeswitching, mastering the multiple consciousnesses that are necessary for a minoritized person to succeed in a racialized world. He was a smooth operator. But he was also influential among Uyghur young people, and over time the police began to take notice of him. They sent informants to the night school where he taught to report on things students said and how the Abdulla responded to them. But Abdulla anticipated this, so when he discussed the biography of Nelson Mandela he was careful not to make direct comparisons to the Apartheid conditions that Uyghurs experienced in the city.8 In the private-public space of the classroom they did not discuss the way only around 15 percent of Uyghur college graduates were able to find jobs regardless of how well they spoke Chinese and English.9 Nor did they discuss the stories his students told him privately of the way they had witnessed police brutality and how the same police protected the non-Muslim settlers that had inundated their villages as part of the large-scale migration Pan Yue had called for. 

But then in late 2014 three of his students disappeared from their dorm room, leaving behind their belongings. They didn’t tell their families where they were going until several weeks later when they re-emerged in Malaysia at the other end of the underground trafficking route that took them across the hills of Myanmar where they joined North Koreans and Rohingya fleeing state violence. The police questioned Abdulla for days. Abdulla vowed that he had no knowledge of their plan.

That incident, and the arrest of the parents of his students, the way the police began to search Muslim homes on a regular basis, and the new prohibitions on any form of religious speech, made him quite concerned. He started plotting his own escape. Utilizing all of his connections, in 2016 he managed to obtain a passport and visit Europe and me and other friends in the United States, thinking through the logistics of an international move and what it would take to get his medical training recognized abroad. It would be hard he realized, but it seemed like the only path forward. All he had to do was find a way to get passports for his wife and children and sell his apartment in the city. But he never did. 

In 2017 he was detained along with hundreds of thousands of other young Uyghurs and sent to a closed concentrated education and training center. His travel history, his association with students who the state now regarded as international terrorists, was more than enough for him to be regarded as untrustworthy. Yet unlike most other detainees, all of whom had similar digital dossiers of thought crimes and “abnormal” behaviors, Abdulla had an advanced degree in medical science, he spoke perfect Chinese and could recite all the laws and regulations related to ethnic policies. If the political and economic goals of the camp system were to train Uyghur villagers to speak Chinese and work in factories, why detain and train someone already working in a Chinese institution? 

Fundamentally, Abdulla and the hundreds of thousands of other migrants and farmers had been detained for particular political and economic reasons that had less to do with their past individual actions, though the digital footprint of these actions were collected and assessed, and more to do with their ethno-religious and generational status as young, rural-background Uyghurs. But simultaneously, the cost of producing them as workers was also being externalized to the village communities that had trained them, the families that had sacrificed their livelihoods to send them to school. Even workhouses need doctors. It appears that Abdulla was destined to become a rare Muslim doctor tasked with maintaining and reproducing the system of racialized carceral care. His devalued assigned labor was not in the factory, but for the factory workers and their child. He could never leave the city, instead his future was a permanent state of probation. He could always be sent back to the camp or demoted to the factory or worse. 

2017 Xinjiang :: 1972 South Africa? 

In many ways, discussion of what has happened in Xinjiang resembles discussions of Apartheid South Africa in the 1970s. Among conservative and liberal proponents of the capitalist world order, both cases are often seen as exceptions rather than limit cases of capitalist logics. 

 However as radical historians such as Martin Legassick (1984), Walter Rodney (1972), and sociologist Michael Buroway (1974) have demonstrated, South Africa was in fact a capitalist state whose economy centered on the production and reproduction of difference.10 South Africa was a paradigmatic example of a state-managed capitalist order that codified a so-called “color bar” (Buroway 1974, 1054) that excluded black and brown people from certain forms of employment reserved for whites. This exclusion along with processes of removing native peoples from their lands and forcing them into external resource dependent, impoverished reserves resulted in two new modes of production. Subsistence living on reserves and a supply of surplus miners from those reserves. The color bar “fixed” in place the contradiction between capitalism and democratic politics, preventing black South Africans from preserving their own wealth, denying them social mobility in the workforce, and strangling systems of mutual aid.

It was from this example, among others, that scholars such as Cedric Robinson (1983 [1999]) and Mahmood Mamdani (1996 [2018]) began to build a general theory of the way capitalist-colonial development works through the production of difference—rather than homogenizing effect of “all boats rising” as national economies grow as a whole.11 By devaluing the labour and possessions of citizens and non-citizens deemed and legally categorized as different, state-subsidized and supported business interests and settler overseers are empowered to accumulate wealth in a fixed, ongoing manner. 

Fast forward five decades and the outlines of a similar “color bar” fix can be seen in motion operating through an anti-Muslim racial regime. As in South Africa, Xinjiang multinational and domestic corporations are deeply invested in maintaining continual growth. The system in Xinjiang relies on a dual mode of racialized capital accumulation in the form of labor and data. In a general sense, the labour theft element of the system relies not only on the theft of the individual worker’s life, but also a theft from the family and community that raised and cared for that worker. By stealing a daughter or son from an Uyghur family and community, the reeducation campaign externalizes the cost of producing an unfree worker. As the state hired 90,000 new non-Muslim teachers with high-school degrees from villages across China, the reproduction of this labor-force was further ensured by a residential school system that would produce the next generation of Uyghur factory workers.  

As with Apartheid South Africa, the world is the market for much of the prediction products and consumer goods produced by the unfree workers in Xinjiang. It also participates in the global discourse of anti-Muslim racism. These areas of convergence with the imperial North—through both memetic political relations and a shared global economy—point to the ultimate lesson of Xinjiang. In a world where the power of Chinese corporations and autocrats is unchecked they operate in much the same way as other colonial powers."

New black hole visualization takes viewers beyond the brink

Ever wonder what happens when you fall into a black hole? Now, thanks to a new, immersive visualization produced on a NASA supercomputer, viewers can plunge into the event horizon, a black hole's point of no return.

"People often ask about this, and simulating these difficult-to-imagine processes helps me connect the mathematics of relativity to actual consequences in the real universe," said Jeremy Schnittman, an astrophysicist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, who created the visualizations. "So I simulated two different scenarios, one where a camera—a stand-in for a daring astronaut—just misses the event horizon and slingshots back out, and one where it crosses the boundary, sealing its fate."

The visualizations are available in multiple forms. Explainer videos act as sightseeing guides, illuminating the bizarre effects of Einstein's general theory of relativity. Versions rendered as 360-degree videos let viewers look all around during the trip, while others play as flat all-sky maps.

To create the visualizations, Schnittman teamed up with fellow Goddard scientist Brian Powell and used the Discover supercomputer at the NASA Center for Climate Simulation. The project generated about 10 terabytes of data—equivalent to roughly half of the estimated text content in the Library of Congress—and took about 5 days running on just 0.3% of Discover's 129,000 processors. The same feat would take more than a decade on a typical laptop.

The destination is a supermassive black hole with 4.3 million times the mass of our sun, equivalent to the monster located at the center of our Milky Way galaxy.

"If you have the choice, you want to fall into a supermassive black hole," Schnittman explained. "Stellar-mass black holes, which contain up to about 30 solar masses, possess much smaller event horizons and stronger tidal forces, which can rip apart approaching objects before they get to the horizon."

This occurs because the gravitational pull on the end of an object nearer the black hole is much stronger than that on the other end. Infalling objects stretch out like noodles, a process astrophysicists call spaghettification.

The simulated black hole's event horizon spans about 16 million miles (25 million kilometers), or about 17% of the distance from Earth to the sun. A flat, swirling cloud of hot, glowing gas called an accretion disk surrounds it and serves as a visual reference during the fall. So do glowing structures called photon rings, which form closer to the black hole from light that has orbited it one or more times. A backdrop of the starry sky as seen from Earth completes the scene.

As the camera approaches the black hole, reaching speeds ever closer to that of light itself, the glow from the accretion disk and background stars becomes amplified in much the same way as the sound of an oncoming race car rises in pitch. Their light appears brighter and whiter when looking into the direction of travel.

The movies begin with the camera located nearly 400 million miles (640 million kilometers) away, with the black hole quickly filling the view. Along the way, the black hole's disk, photon rings, and the night sky become increasingly distorted—and even form multiple images as their light traverses the increasingly warped space-time.

In real time, the camera takes about 3 hours to fall to the event horizon, executing almost two complete 30-minute orbits along the way. But to anyone observing from afar, it would never quite get there. As space-time becomes ever more distorted closer to the horizon, the image of the camera would slow and then seem to freeze just shy of it. This is why astronomers originally referred to black holes as "frozen stars."

At the event horizon, even space-time itself flows inward at the speed of light, the cosmic speed limit. Once inside it, both the camera and the space-time in which it's moving rush toward the black hole's center—a one-dimensional point called a singularity, where the laws of physics as we know them cease to operate.

"Once the camera crosses the horizon, its destruction by spaghettification is just 12.8 seconds away," Schnittman said. From there, it's only 79,500 miles (128,000 kilometers) to the singularity. This final leg of the voyage is over in the blink of an eye.

In the alternative scenario, the camera orbits close to the event horizon but it never crosses over and escapes to safety. If an astronaut flew a spacecraft on this 6-hour round trip while her colleagues on a mothership remained far from the black hole, she'd return 36 minutes younger than her colleagues. That's because time passes more slowly near a strong gravitational source and when moving near the speed of light.

"This situation can be even more extreme," Schnittman noted. "If the black hole were rapidly rotating, like the one shown in the 2014 movie 'Interstellar,' she would return many years younger than her shipmates."

Let's put the idea as a hypothesis and then prove it …..

Before the solar planets creation

The solar system energy was found in one wave moves by a velocity 300000 km/s

Means-

The solar system is one wave moves by speed of light (300000 km/s)

Now

The Solar System needs To Create A Stationary Point Its velocity Zero relative to the moving wave its velocity is 300000 km/s

This is the basic information in the solar system design-

The solar system needs to create a stationary point relative to the wave motion- by that – two velocities will be found which are (v1= the wave its velocity 300000 km/s) and (v2= Zero= the stationary point velocity relative to the wave motion) – these two velocities produce a relative motion with different velocity 300000 km/s– this relative motion is the solar system design cornerstone.

Now – let's create this stationary point in the solar system motion

The planets matters and their distances are created from one energy –this energy is provided by one light beam– and this light beam moves by a velocity 1.16 million km per second- the energy is consumed in the space and time creation- the energy consumption caused to decrease the light velocity and the rest energy is one light beam its velocity 300000 km/s (the known speed of light) 

The space and time creation is done by the equation (1.16/0.3) x 2π = 24.3

The equation tells, the space is created in curved lines (2π) and the time is created based on the solar day (24 hours) (later the reason will be explained)

Notice-the space is created from the energy (1.16 million km/ second) but the planets are created from the energy (300000 km/s)- the planets are created after the space.

Because Mercury day period = 2 Mercury orbital periods, that causes Mercury to rotate around its axis and to revolve around the sun starting both jobs from the same point in space- and when Mercury day period is finished, Mercury returns to its same point from which Mercury started – that means- Mercury doesn't change its starting point in the space for its day period (the Earth changes its starting point in the space to create it day) but Mercury doesn't change its point in the space

Means- Mercury rotates around its axis and revolves around the sun starting from the same original point in space which was used since thousands of years – NO change is done for the point in space and by that Mercury position in the space is not changed in history-

That explains why the solar system depends on Mercury clock- Because – Mercury save the same distance to the sun and Mercury starts its day period motion from the same point of space since the ancient times 

Mercury day period causes to save the ancient motion without change and by that the original geometrical design is still used and isn't changed through the history- that explains why the solar system uses Mercury clock.

The time is created in units, each unit is (24 hours = the solar day)

(One Second Of The Light Clock = 24 Hours Of The Planet Clock),

That tells the period (24 hours) is equivalent to the period (one second), and by that this period should not be divided-

Let's see this picture accurately- we observe one swimming fish in the sea- the fish hits the sea water by its tail and pushes some water and by that the fish can swim and move- we conclude the water moves by a velocity Equal the fish velocity because of the reaction force.
