queen doodles n some unrelated queen thoughts n ideas
For the Stone Queen, death, destruction, and revenge were the only ways to reach her goal. A goal she has long forgotten, but the cycle of wrath is one that she refuses to escape. Later in her reign, after her enemies have been long gone and forgotten, she sometimes finds herself thinking "Why am I doing this, what do I wish to achieve?" And while that thought is usually brushed away almost instantly, she is left with a feeling that all her actions have been done in vain.
That feeling grows and grows until her own eventual demise, rotting away in the middle of a desert. A solitary, motionless being left alone with her final thoughts. After a reign of terror and destruction, she feels as though this is the only realistic outcome for her. She's not proud of herself, yet still did not regret her actions. Her first "death" lead to this, the deaths of those who betrayed her fueled her wrath, and she continued to lead a legacy of death until her own, arguably, the most pathetic death she has had to witness
.
However, the Desert Queen (Queen 2) has a different view on death. To her, death is a natural process that all beings must go through. All but her, that is. She understands what death is, but feels completely removed from it due to her perceived immortality. In her mind; and many other desert grumps, she's a god, something totally different from everyone and everything she sees.
Death isn't something she should personally worry or care about. To her, there's no reason to waste her limitless life thinking of the possibility of not being around anymore. Which is why her death came as a shock for her and her subjects. Her body had been weakened after centuries of ruling, so the island's ruthless volcano took her out instantly. It was a quick, probably not painless, demise.
rip to these bug ladies lol

UMMM SNIPPET OF ANGSTY EDGY CHANSAW FANFIC BCUZ WHY NOT
Ok so suddenly I had lots of inspo and I wrote this, gonna finish it in a week or so, so do expect something from me after a whole damn year!!!!
For context in this AU Chandler is basically JD
The deafening whistling of the wind accompanied me through my ride to school, the pristine look that I wanted to have ruined by the morning climate. A soft sigh escaped my lips.
Westerburg High loomed in the distance, and as it came closer to me, the realization of the responsibility that laid upon me truly dawned on me. Hundreds of lives depended on the decision that I would make this very day, and if that wasn’t enough, that exact choice is the one that would end her.
For a long time, I wished for that charming, adventurous, and chivalrous prince – Or princess, I guess. – to come and whisk me off of my feet. Show me the real grandeur of this world, go on a monumental odyssey where we would venture into the wilderness together and get lost on eachother. Those dreams seemed to somewhat come true when she showed up.
This girl, beautiful blue eyes that seemed to glimmer with cleverness and eccentricness, the strawberry perfume that always followed her around, enveloping me in a warm cocoon of pleasant, familiar scents and the cunning smile that she always wore whenever she wanted to convince someone to do something that wasn’t particularly ethic. Oh so beautiful and oh so dangerous.
She managed to draw me like a moth to a flame even when the facade of kindness had inevitably cracked. One day, I noticed that when I looked into her eyes I didn’t feel that warmth that ran through my body and made me feel alive. Instead, those eyes seemed to contain something wicked and just wrong.
btw this takes so much inspiration from Food Network by ElmoOnCrack so also go check that out

people have been pointing out the way i write maddie's awareness of the narrators is a lot more serious (and lowkey scary apparently 😭) than in the show/books and i just want you all to know that this is going to be a recurring theme throughout the whole rewrite. it's going to be a very killjoy retelling im sorry

i was Just rewatching the first episode of bbc sherlock with my mum before seeing the new letters from watson email had been sent and even though it's just the first chapter it's already making me sad to see how much they changed just his Introduction
like he's so endearing !! and so clearly passionate about crime solving in a way his introduction in a study in pink just doesn't get across as well imo
if they were even aiming for that at all, which.... im doubtful ? i think bbc sherlock was a lot more concerned with making him seem cool maybe, and Definitely with getting across that he's Fucked Up or whatever and his giddy excitement here doesn't really work well with that intent. there's the scene later on in 221b baker street where they got a bit closer to showing his passion but in that scene the thing he's excited about is another murder happening which. changes it a lot i think.
he's finally shown to be passionate about his work in some way, sure, but i think it was done to, again, lean into the "ooo isn't this guy A Bit Strange" thing by having him get excited about a stranger's death. i wouldn't consider it a scene showing his love for his work, i think it's more about his hatred for being bored, because a study in pink leans more towards his passion for his work being a bad thing with how it makes his reasoning a lot more .... pessimistic maybe ?
like pink has characters talk about how he gets off on crimes in a jaded way when it's not just about it being something that stops him being bored while scarlet compares him to a child with a new toy to describe how passionately he feels and i feel like i'm using the word passionate a lot but it's the only word i think describes what it is i love about the sherlock short stories i've read so far and now the beginning of this novel that bbc sherlock (at least in it's first episode) just. doesn't really have. either that or love, maybe.
idk this is just the first chapter and i don't remember much at all of bbc sherlock after a study in pink so my opinion will probably change at some point but this is how i feel about the adaptation currently.
and anyway i wanted an excuse to show some screenshots of nice sherlock scenes bc i love him a lot

i like the fact that the end takes on an appearance representative of death and is different for everyone and that is why we, the players, see it as the moon, but.... wish we got some second form for it....

i love kirby super star fanfic or comic adaptations where marx and kirby are actually best friends during the course of the entire game and marx blindsides kirby, to the point where i want to do something soooort of similar with my kirbyverse, but i also just kinda love how in canon marx was just like “im gonna very specifically ruin this guys week”

soooooo in light of the fact that it seems like The Fandom Collectively Forgot About The Crimes of McShit, do you know anything about the rumors that they're apparently working on redesigns for the offensive stuff? (also literally who is sertif we have heard nothing of them since the callout dropped)
I'll be blunt with you, I don't think it's happening. I don't think the supposed 'Noise DLC' is happening for a good while anyways, so that whole redesigning the two shite enemies..? Don't count on it. If it does happen, I'll be happy. But I'm not having high hopes. It's a good thing that you can /technically/ skip one level in a playthrough so you can avoid one of them, but ehhhhhh. It's one of those cases where you sort of have to bite the bullet and go 'yeah, that's fucked up'.
Y0shi's Island & Crash Bandico0t has some questionable depiction of tribes, too. I still like those games, but I will admit those enemies make me slightly uncomfortable. You can make the argument that all three of these games don't harbor any 'ill will' with the designs, but it's still like. How did you think that was a smart thing to keep in the game. In 2023.
Also, Sertif is the 2nd half of Tour De Pizza, the publishing company. I've personally been trying to attribute the good parts of the game to them. Coder and such. Very friendly and never said the shit McShit did nor would condone it, which makes me wonder if they knew about the shit he said or just... Let it sweep under the rug because they didn't want to cause issues for their job.
Idk. To each their own. I don't think people should be shamed for simply liking the game or anything. They should be shamed for uncritically defending McShit, capeesh?
