How is drugs and people on them seen in France? Like is weed seen as "meh" or something awful? If a famous person was outed or admitted to having an issue with drug use, how does the public react?

In France, drugs are strictly prohibited by law or strictly regulated:

No ads on TV for alcohol + ID check when buying alcohol to check if you're over 18.

ID check for buying cigarettes + no advertisement.

Prohibition of commonly known drugs : weed, cocaine, meth, heroine, etc.

For drug perception, I'd say it depends on the drugs, and of course, on the person's views. But more generally :

Weed is strongly debated: more conservative people consider it a source of delinquency and traffic accidents; more liberal ones acknowledge its medical uses and consider it should stop being prohibited so the police would spend less time going after drug dealers. They also consider that the taxes for legal sales of weed would represent a proficient source of revenue for the state.

10% of the French population between 14 and 64 consumes cannabis at least once a year. From my personal perspective, I'd say it is mostly considered a "harmless drug" (in the same way as tobacco), but the state communication strongly emphasizes on the problem of addiction.

Regarding other drugs, it's more difficult to tell: drugs like meth, cocaine, and crack are not used at parties or to a very little extent. Paris has had a problem of crackheads in the north neighbourhoods for a while now, and debates are sparking about shooting rooms and how we should help people who suffer from addictions.

Hello! Fic Writer here! I have a character who discovered that she's not only a Succubus, but the descendant of Lilith, who I understand is also in the Torah as Adam's first wife (I think? I could be mixed up). Anyway, my character has a physical change, she has horns and a tail; she feels uncomfortable with it since she was adopted by a Jewish man (Hungarian, specially) and raised Jewish (Culturally). I understand that it was believed that Jews had horns and tails. My OC addresses it to her...

friends, who have sympathy for her and try to help her feel comfortable in her skin. She has no problem with her sexuality, it's just her appearance. Also, her estranged sister, who has a special power, was taken by the church to become an exorcist, but she had to convert. When my Succubus OC and her friends hear about it, they're upset by it. I was wondering if this is offensive. Does addressing the issue and how the characters feel about alright?

Well, I want to see our Werewolves, of course. The small downside to the show is that a lot of the characters are underdeveloped or we don't get to know them. But I do kind of like Alyssa and I like Kyle (Yes, he's an ass, but I still like him. I like the actor and I have thing for guys with curly hair) Also this is my HCs, Kyle's last name is Prescott. Hamish is the type of guy that would take you on a Nerdy Date - if you were into that sort of thing. I mean, have you seen this guy? He is most definitely going to say you are the nicest piece of art in the museum before breaking out in a grin and admitting that he should not have dropped such a cheesy compliment on you. But before any place fancy off of campus, Hamish is going to take you to the Blade and Chalice - something familiar, for a relaxing drink and a small bite to eat, a chance to make sure that you really are comfortable being alone with him while not really being alone.

It’s also the place that, you know...Randall and Lilith and Jack can also make sure that you’re Up To Snuff for their fearless leader, while he uses the opportunity to see what his closest friends think of you. He really values the opinions of his friends, especially on something that he, himself, is so nervous about - putting himself completely on the line for you.

Don’t sweat it. Lilith doesn’t spend the WHOLE time glaring at you. In fact, she tells you what Hamish’s favorite exhibit is at the museum you end up going to. For your sake.

Boy does THAT work out in your favor (i.e. he is DTF on the first date if you two hit it off THAT well. Which. Let’s be real. He asked you out. You two hit it off THAT well already).

Have you met Randall? Of course you have, you’re going on a date with him! “Going” is....overselling it, however. If you agree to a date with Randall, he’s not planning something elaborate, but something casual and relaxing. The man lives in sweatpants for fucks sake, I highly doubt that he actually owns a pair of Slacks.

So, the first date is at his place - that room/apartment that he has for being an R.A. He orders some food from a nice place, grabs a variety of drinks for you to choose from, and makes sure that the place is clean. He cleans for you. Cleans. Give him a break.

It’s a night of good food, good booze, and shitty movies, each one worse than the one before it - but that could just be from the copious amounts of alcohol that you two partake in. Whenever you leave the couch and the comfort of his warmth, he sends message after message to the Swearwolves Group Chat (you look me in the eye and tell me that’s NOT what its called) telling them how EXCITED he is, how much FUN he’s having, until his texts aren’t making any sense because he’s so smitten and so drunk that he can’t stop smiling.

There’s a kiss, or two, and some gratuitous groping, but he will WAIT until, at least, the second date to get really into it.

Maybe.

Lilith is a nervous WRECK. From asking you out to actually meeting you the day of your date, she’s much more prickly than normal. But it’s okay!! Don’t let it phase you (if it does, should you REALLY be on a date with Lilith?). She will relax the longer you two are alone together, until its Business As Usual, and she’s wondering what the hell she was nervous about.

It’s a small place off campus that she picks - mostly because she does NOT want Hamish, Randall, or Jack to show up and ruin things. She says ruin, but if it’s anything like when she asked you out, then they would probably make faces at her until she just threw the whole date in the trash. But that’s why she picks a small diner off campus! So that she can have you to herself, so she can BE herself, and not worry about anything else.

It’s a movie afterwards. And there’s very little appreciate of the movie to be had, because as soon as the lights go down, she’s distracting you with small kisses and teasing touches, and boy does she enjoy being able to see you blush in the dark.

You two wouldn’t even make it back to a bed. If everything goes according to plan, the two of you are GOING to fuck in the back seat of the car.

Jack thinks he’s smooth, but he’s really not. He practiced asking you out in the mirror, and was repeating it to himself as he was on his way to meet you, but you found him first, and overheard the whole thing and said yes. He invites you out to some event that’s happening in town - something outside, and fun, like a carnival, or a fair. He knows that its relaxing, and fun, and it’s the one place that he can really get you alone if he needs to, because of the rides.

He would also send off messages to the Swearwolves Group Chat to let them know how it goes, and immediately decides to take you somewhere else when he hears three separate phones going off around the fair grounds.

After anything he has planned for you - be in the carnival, or the fair - he takes you home for dinner and to meet his Gramps. He may get embarrassed by some stories that Gramps shares - I mean, why wouldn’t he share these stories? It’s the perfect time! - but he’s so excited for you to meet his family that he’ll get over it.

It really is a sweet first date, and he even drops you off at your door with a kiss.

Granted, that doesn’t mean that he won’t come back later to visit because he just can’t stop thinking about you.

It’s not the first date anymore, now is it?

Does Alyssa do dates? Does she really? Not if you look at her track record. But it’s okay! When she decides to ask you on a date, it’s at the same time as you, and you both end up stumbling over your proposals and laughing a little because of it.

She cooks, and invites you over for a wonderful spread of food that she put together herself, and it’s all surprisingly easy - you two talk about magic, you talk about classes, you talk about anything and everything and it isn’t until the candles that she lit are practically stumps that either of you realize the time.

She lets you stay the night, stumbles over offering to give you the bed, and both of you turn a little pink when you agree to share it with her. It’s fine! It’s okay! You’re both adults, right? So when you both climb into bed, it’s safe to say that neither of you are jumping into the other’s arms.

But as you’re falling asleep, you do feel her arms around you.

Breakfast the following morning very much is a second date, and earns a little more than just a kiss from either of you.

Kyle, Kyle, Kyle. He really is full of himself, isn’t he? He asks you out MULTIPLE times, each one more pompous, and a little egotistical than the last, and every time you turn him down, if only because he keeps looking back at his friends like “hey, check it out, I’m getting a date”. 

But, hey, when he actually gets the nerve to ask you out WITHOUT his friends hovering in the corner is when you actually agree.

And he pulls out ALL the stops: a fancy restaurant, a limo, fine wine, etc. But it isn’t the glitz and glam that get you, but the laughs. He’s surprisingly easy to talk to, and it reminds you why you were even friends with him to begin with, let alone why you studied magic with him. He was smart, and funny, and sweet when he pulled out your chair, and opened the door, and offered you his coat when you said you were cold.

Given his track record with you before your date, he doesn’t dare TRY to kiss you when he drops you off at your front door. So you kiss him. And, maybe, drag him inside.

If he brags to his friends, though, you will turn him into something small and squishable. Until you see his friends earnestly asking about the date. Then, well...maybe you’ll forgive him later.

Amir just goes for it. He really is a “grab life by the horns” kind of guy, and when he realizes that there’s even a SPARK of interest between the two of you, he just asks you out - no planning, no real idea of what to do, just blurts it out while you’re laughing about one of his jokes.

He really is a broke college student, though, and he does his best to plan something that will really catch your eye - he does his best to convince the owner of the Blade and Chalice to give you two the whole bar for a the night, or at least an hour, or at least after close? And the guy agrees - if only because Amir says that he’ll clean the bar for a week for free in exchange for it. Afterwards, when you hear the owner flag down Amir and tell him that his debt is paid, whatever that means, the two of you head off to town for a late night movie of your choice.

Or, you would, if it hadn’t started to rain.

But it’s okay! Because Amir is a quick thinker, and remembers that Netflix is a thing. So you two head back to his room, where his roommate is gone (Thank God) and stream whatever movies you can think of until it’s even later and the two of you fall asleep propped against the wall.

He does buy you breakfast, and offers to grab your homework from classes when you tell him that you’re going to skip them for the day, and earns the largest, loudest kiss that you can muster with little sleep and a sore back.

He does do a dance. You do see him do a dance before he leaves. It’s cute.

Where do you get all of your information about China and Japan? I'm curious.

I have a long list of references that I use for my mahoutokoro-at-nagumo blog. The equivalent list on this blog is much shorter because I forget to update it, haha.

For the Japanese info, I draw a lot from knowledge I have accumulated over the years either from my own language studies, novels, anime/manga, articles (scholarly or informational ones), movies, youtube videos, books, or websites (I try to use university websites, or at least more credible sources). And when all English-language resources fail, I do my research in Japanese. Some magical creature stuff was derived from that latter method, given that English language resources are awful (re: they make stuff up sometimes or draw from really strange, isolated representations).

As for my China information, a majority of it has come from reading xianxia novels in English translation and watching wuxia movies and dramas, lol. Other information comes from websites; I look up what I can, but a lot of topics (especially the magical creatures) aren’t widely disseminated in English. I can’t read Chinese, so I do what I can with google translate. I have also dug into the depths of google books for published books on certain topics.

Can I have HCs of Bakugou, Kirishima, Yaomomo, and Todoroki having a s/o that can see dead people, like the boy from the Sixth Sense? S/o aids ghosts to finish their unfinished business. However, the ghosts look downright terrifying due to them looking how they died. Ex: a boy has the back of his head missing due to a bullet or a sick woman, crying and vomiting everywhere.

Bakugou Katsuki

-When they explained their quirk to him, he kind of brushes it off but on the inside he does think it’s pretty cool

-Lowkey asks questions but tries to act all nonchalant about it (everyone knows that he finds it cool but he doesn’t know that they know so he has to keep up appearances and such)

-There are ghosts that probably really make his partner uncomfortable or freaked out and Bakugou will threaten to blow up the ghosts which makes his partner laugh because “that’s impossible Katsuki.” “DON’T TEST ME I’LL FIND A WAY!”

Kirishima Eijirou

-He has a LOT of questions for them when they explain their quirk

-Constantly asks if there are ghosts in the room and if they can describe them (at first he doesn’t understand that the ghosts they see aren’t as clean as the ones seen on TV so he get’s a little confused if they cringe/grimace at his question)

-One time, he got upset at their quirk because “how can I protect you from things that I can’t see” but then they talked about it and he vowed to help them in any way he could (i.e. comforting them if they face a particularly horrifying ghost)

Todoroki Shouto

-Todoroki comments that it’s a very unique quirk and is immediately impressed that they help the ghosts as well

-He’s surprisingly very observant so he’ll be able to tell if a spirit bothered them somehow and will immediately try to comfort them by making tea and buying their favorite desert

-Basically makes it a rule that every night before they sleep, they tell Todoroki about the ghosts they encountered so that he can help soothe them if they need it

Yaoyorozu Momo

-When they tell her that there are ghosts that exist and that they can see them, Yaoyorozu gets a little scared because she’s always told herself that ghosts aren’t real whenever she was scared but now she can’t do that and oh god please don’t haunt me!

-Basically, her partner has to reassure her that the ghosts won’t harm her because they’re there to help them move on

-All in all, she actually thinks that it’s a really noble thing that they’re doing because not only do they have the ability to see the ghosts, but they also dedicate their life to helping them move on

Can I have HCs of Bakugou, Todoroki, and Midoriya having a Quirkless S/O or crush, who is basically like Natasha Romanov/Black Widow, Atomic Blonde, and Hit-Girl in terms of fighting, intelligence, and weaponry (just without the killing). They can take care of themselves, use anything as a weapon, sneak up on people without making a sound; and doesn't give a damn if their Quirkless; they'll give their enemy a deadly look that says, "Come at me," and "I dare you to f*ck with me."

Bakugou-

He’s h̶i̶g̶h̶k̶e̶y lowkey jealous of all the amazing stuff you do

It takes a little while for him to understand that when you two get into an argument over something, you’re not gonna back down

Often they turn to fights (which does not in any way signal an end to the relationship, fighting between you two is akin to a little spat between other couples) and you both argue over who’s won more fights, though it’s split evenly

When asked by others, he often lies and says his injuries were caused by a really tough villain that he beat up, because his pride hurts more than anything when he loses a fight to you

But he is also insanely proud and amazed by everything you can do, and to top it off, you do it all quirkless! and even though he doesn’t show it, he has the utmost respect for you

Will spar often with you, and to this day, it’s still 50-50 in terms of wins and losses for both of you

He also mentions several times a day, in his own Bakugou way, how glad he is that he doesn’t have to cover your back all the time on the battlefield, he knows you can take care of yourself just fine

“(Y/n)! Get your head out of your ass and take down the elemental quirk user! Honestly, I’d prefer it be anybody else, but you’ll have to do!” (which is Bakugou speak for: “(Y/n)! Please hurry up and take down the elemental quirk user! I really don’t want to send you up against that guy because I couldn’t bear it if you get hurt, but you’re our only hope and I really need you to do this!”)

Midoriya-

He is absolutely dumbfounded at how you’re able to do all this without a quirk, and you’ll catch him taking notes on your strategies on actions pretty often, to which he’ll blush and explain he finds you really cool and wants to improve himself as a hero, and that hopefully he’ll learn from the stuff you do

If you offer him lessons he will take you up on them then and there, and he won’t improve too much right off the bat, but if you work with him he’ll be extremely grateful

Honestly you’ve had to protect him more than once, because he means well, but sometimes he goes overboard with his quirk and ends up screwing himself over

He’ll eventually tell you the secret of his quirk, only on the grounds that you promise not to tell anyone, and if he hasn’t already, he will explain that’s partly the reason why he’s so fascinated by your abilities

He’ll probably try ask way too many questions about how you got your skills, where’d you learn them, why, did someone teach you or were you self-taught? Did you ever get frustrated over not having a quirk? How have you worked past that limitation and if you’ve turned it to a positive? so on

 He’s very very lowkey scared of you sometimes, but he knows you’d never hurt him

Todoroki-

At first, he’s a little depressed because your hard fighting, logic, and intelligence remind him of his father a bit, in a sort of abstract way, your drive to accomplish goals…. it’s kind of… cold to him, in a way

But he soon gets over it, and you both bond over your backgrounds, because you probably wouldn’t be that adept at fighting and killing if you grew up in a good household with two wonderful parents and sunshine and roses all along the way

You two spar sometimes, but not too often, because Todoroki is worried that since you’re so adept at fighting, he might become overwhelmed and hurt you on accident with his father’s quirk

He’s happy you can take care of yourself on the battlefield, but he’s even more glad that although you’re a great fighter, you show kindness and mercy to those who deserve it, unlike his Dad, who would probably roast his enemies alive if he was allowed

He is extremely impressed by your ability to move swiftly yet silently towards enemies, and you two have made a rather successful plan of attack by taking that into account:

It involves him freezing the floor of a building where a criminal is hiding, and you sneak in and either restrain or incapacitate them while they’re slipping and sliding everywhere

Headcanons for Eddie having a violin playing significant other...

He finds it super cool (and pretty hot) that you can play violin. He knows how difficult it is and knows how much skill it means you have so he's pretty impressed when he finds out, he'll also absolutely make some horny joke.

"What else are those fingers good at, Princess?"

He likes chilling, smoking a joint, whilst you play violin. He thinks it's pretty awesome to watch and hear you play even if it's songs he doesn't really like when you play them, they're his favourite songs.

He loves the way you frown in concentration, love the way you close your eyes and get so into the music. He feels that as a fellow musician so it's nice to share the same passion.

He'll rant and rave about music to you and you'll do the same. He loves that the two of you share this interest.

As a surprise, you start to learn some of his favourite songs on the violin. It takes months and it's not easy but you half have an idea of asking to be in his band. Surprisingly, metal with an added violin sounds fucking insane and you think it would help the band progress since it would give them a new, interesting sound (not that they're uninteresting of course).

When you suggest that you could play violin for his band, he laughs. Then he feels bad because he realises you're serious.

"Violin? At my concert? Babe... I love you but I don't think that's the right demographic."

Eddie's only ever known a classical violin playing, playing classical music and nothing else, but when you tell him that you've been attempting to learn Metallica for the violin, he's intrigued. So he asks to hear it.

When you get your violin and put on Metallica, he's amused. He doesn't think it could work. All he's known is classical pieces but when he hears you, when he hears the combined metal mixed with the classical of the violin... he can't believe.

"Fucking Ozzy... It sounds- You sound incredible. How- How does that even go together?! Holy shit, babe, yes. You can be in the band. I've never heard anything like that before!"

He apologises profusely afterwards for ever doubting you. He loves that you'd learned some of his favourite songs to play to him, he makes you play them multiple times that night.

He also finds it insanely hot. Like absolutely would just be rock hard a minute into you playing that first song. You're so talented and the fact you've went out of your way to learn his favourite songs on violin, it's a big deal and makes him feel so damn loved so of course he'd be turned on.

When he tells Gareth and Jeff, they too say no, that it wouldn't work. Then Eddie makes you play for them and they have the same reactions that he did (though without the boner and the making out that ensued). They're amazed and they immediately say yes to letting you join.

Eddie's so excited. He can't stop raving about how good you'll be at their concerts, about how you add such a unique sound to the band that has the potential to sky rocket them to success.

He's the one who kisses you before the gig, tells you that you're going to be amazing and introduces you with the biggest smile on his face.

He watches you pretty much the entire gig, smiling and grinning like a fool.

"Give it up for my wonderful, sexy, perfect partner (y/n)..."

After the gig's done and once the adrenaline's worn off, he has you in bed, wrapped around each other as he whispers a promise to you.

Your meeting goes very well, and you walk out of the office with a premises and enough for a few months’ rent while your business gets going

whenever he walks past your little shop on one of the lesser known streets of Birmingham, he makes sure to tip his cap to you as you wave through the window. 

It’s all going well and you’re paying back the loan in weekly installments- he loves coming to your shop because of the warm, friendly atmosphere you’ve built there

he takes off his cap as you disappear into the back room. when you return with a few crumpled notes, he’s sweeping some of the bigger pieces of wood away. “I don’t want your money,” he said firmly. “You need it more than me until you get back on your feet,” 

“Mr Shelby, there is no ‘getting back on my feet’,” you said, not looking at him. “You’re not stupid. You know why they did it,” you folded your arms and looked around, your life’s work and your dreams since you were a little girl melted and burnt at your feet. 

“I’ll send some men to help you clean up. Cock and Ox pub, you say?” you nod, and he’s out the door. 

True to his word, three men are sent to help you clear out the shop and store your unharmed products away safely 

“Sorry about your shop, Miss,” one of the men says gently. “If it’s any consolation, Tommy and his brothers went to that pub and found out who did it. Moss is on the case now, and Tommy’s cut them a new smile,”

It depends on the specificities of the region and the class, really.

The most common field trips happen locally for normal students (it's less expensive), so they can visit stuff in the region: your local castle, a museum, a forest, etc. In Paris, there are plenty of choices! There are obviously a lot of museums, but we also have easy access to places a little further out in the region, like the Fontainebleau forrest, some quarries for geology, and the Versailles castle and gardens, for instance.

Longer field trips often occur when the class is doing an optional class of some sort (intensive English, Italian or Latin, theater...); students then go to places related to those options (England, Ireland, Italy, theater shows...). They can also happen in link with classes, especially for science (going to a volcano, a mountain, a lake to observe biodiversity...). It is usually educative in some way.

Finally, schools can also organize longer trips that take place further away, such as a ski week, a week at the sea... It's more expensive and difficult to organize for teachers but it's the occasion for students that would never go to those places to discover them.

In public schools, the school trips are generally covered by local subsidies (e.g. the Mairie de Paris), and by the coopérative scolaire, which we talked about in a bit more depth here. The goal is to bring the price as low as possible, to ask as little money from parents as possible, hence enabling greater access to these opportunities.

Pt.1: Can I have HCs of Toshi and Aizawa having a s/o that has extrasensory perception? Their quirk can range from being easy-going to downright terrifying. Ex: they can smell the cigar smoke from a deceased man, taste the stinky tofu sandwich of someone eating it at the very moment and see a person dripping wet that later dies by drowning and they can feel hands around their neck, choking them, indicating that someone has been, is, or going to be choked. Sometimes they see crazy images like...

Pt. 2:…if the person who died from drowning was actually murdered, s/o can see them floating in a tree surrounded by water or see them in her bathtub filled with murky water. The “person” who was choking s/o always chokes them at a specific time, like 4:03 AM, indicating it has, is, or will happen at that time. More ex: they can feel the anger of a dead woman who was cheated by her man (s/o takes it out on their man) or touching a sword to see it will be used to kill someone. Bonus: they’re a homicide detective

Toshinori Yagi

-They met on the job, probably asking All Might for help after envisioning a very dangerous villain in action

-After that, they hit it off and Toshi would go over to her office to just check up on them because he saw how they seemed to struggle with something during the investigation though he wasn’t aware that it was their quirk

-They didn’t tell him until a few months after they started dating because their quirk had the tendency to scare people off, especially when it started to effect her emotions or woke her up screaming in the middle of the night

-However, it didn’t scare him off and he stayed by their side, ensuring them that he’d make sure that they were okay

-Tells them constantly that they’re strong for being able to deal with the effects of their quirk and that no one could make sure good use out of it as they could. Also will sit up with them after they wake up in the middle of the night or if they have a bad episode in general

Aizawa Shouta

-Coffee shop meeting because this dude is addicted to that stuff and the other probably needs some coffee if they wake up in the middle of the night anyway (plus their quirk drains their energy a lot and there’s nothing that they can do to stop it)

-Honestly, he’s fascinated by how their quirk works and the things that they see…he’s a horror book fan and they’re pretty much a walking horror book so he’s very much intrigued

-Aizawa does know when they don’t want to talk about what they see and instead will keep quiet but will offer a hand in interpreting the visions if they need it 

-Sometimes, their quirk gets so overwhelming and they’ll lock themselves away for a few days at a time but Aizawa manages to wiggle into their space and sit with them (it’s gotten to the point where their coworkers will call Aizawa to help them out if it’s an extremely bad episode)

-At some point, they tell him that they don’t want him to pity them or look down on them for not being able to handle their quirk at times but he assures them that they’re the strongest person he’s ever met (only,,,he does it more cryptically than that because it’s Aizawa)

-IF THE EPISODE IS REALLY REALLY BAD THEN AIZAWA WILL ERASE THEIR QUIRK TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY’RE OKAY

-Traditions between them include Friday movie nights where they switch off choosing movies to marathon

-When their partner get’s bad episodes, they both stay up with them and listen to what they saw and things like that

-CONCEPT: they’re also an artist and sometimes draws their visions. One day, the other two find the sketchbook and compliment on how amazingly talented they are

-They also say that the visions look terrifying and they’re impressed that the other deals with them constantly

Back when I first read My Hero Academia, the idea of Quirk Marriages fascinated me. I had enjoyed the idea of mixing two Quirks together to see what kind of result they would have, especially with all of the unique and interesting Quirks that had been introduced in the series. It had gotten to the point where I had made some of my own, my ideas being enjoyed when I showed them to those around me. It had gotten to the point that I wanted to get them out there and made a blog make them and get requests for them. Since I wanted to do a little more then that, and there weren’t many blogs that talked about it, I decided to help people with making and reviewing their Quirks as part of the blog.

On April 29th, 2018, I made the first post on my corner of the Internet, thinking not many people would see my work because of how niche it was. Since it’s inception, I have expanded greatly on this blog. I grew my blog to include many Original Quirks and MHA Metas. I have made over 2,400 posts at the time of writing. And today, we reached a milestone I never thought I would get to in years.

My friends, we have made it. And thank you all for getting me this far.

Can you explain more about the “Arts” or Littéraire bac? I think you mentioned that it's the most difficult out of the three.

It's not the most difficult out of the three general Baccalauréat (Bac), no. Technically, there isn't one more difficult than another, though the scientific one has the wrongful reputation of being the hardest - but really, it depends on each person's affinities and facilities with the subjects studied in each type of Bac. However, it's the Bac that is the less picked by students out of the three general ones.

The two years for an Arts bac (called "Bac L" in French) are organised as such (again, if you've read the first post, this is for the "old" bac: there's a new one now that started last year, but considering the ML cast is supposed to be in 3ème in 2015, we consider they would have to pass the old bac and not the new one):

→ Première (1ère) (amount of hours / week):

Physical Education: 2h

French: 4h

Geography / History: 4h

Modern language 1 (most of the time English, but not necessarily): 2h30

Modern language 2 (most of the time Spanish or German, but not necessarily; note: if modern language 1 isn't English, then modern language 2 will automatically be English): 2h

Foreign literature in foreign language: 2h

Literature: 2h

Sciences (Physic & Chemistry + earth & life sciences): 1h30

Supervised personal project (abbr. TPE in French): 1h

Then, they have to pick one of the following subject:

Arts (fine arts, cinema, dance, music or drama): 5h

Performing / circus art: 8h

Ancient Greek or Latin: 3h

Extensive modern language 1 or 2: +3h

Modern language 3: 3h

Maths: 3h

It's also possible for them to pick an optional subject for 3h per week if they chose so (this is not compulsory). It allows students to get a few more points for the Baccalauréat, on top of the compulsory subjects:

✎ At the end of the year of 1ère, the students will have exams for the Baccalauréat for the following subjects:

French: 4h of writing exam + 20min of oral exam

Sciences: 2h of writing exam

TPE (supervised personal project): Report + 30min of oral exam

→ Terminale (amount of hours / week):

Physical Education: 2h

Geography / History: 4h

Modern language 1: 2h

Modern language 2: 2h

Foreign literature in foreign language: 1h30

Literature: 2h

Philosophy: 8h

Regarding the compulsory subjects students had to pick in 1ère, they will keep the same in Terminale. The only thing that changes is for those who picked Maths, they'll get 4h per week in Terminale instead of 3h per week.

Same for the optional subjects, if they chose to pick one, they'll keep the same in Terminale. They can chose to give it up though.

✎ At the end of the year of Terminale, the remaining exams they'll have to pass to complete the Baccalauréat will be:

Philosophy: 4h writing exam

Literature: 2h writing exam

History / geography: 4h writing exam

Modern language 1: 3h writing exam + 20min oral exam

Modern language 2: 3h writing exam + 20min oral exam

Foreign literature in foreign language: 10 min oral exam

PE: examined throughout the school year

Depending on your specialisation:

Arts: 3h30 writing exam + 30min oral exam

Ancient Greek or Latin: 3h writing exam

Modern language 3: 20min oral exam

Maths: 3h writing exam

Regarding the optional subjects, they'll be an oral between 15 and 40min depending the subject.
