You know, despite the fact that Megatron himself is an ample fighter, one thing that always interests me about him and Starscream is that, Starscream was the one who was built as a weapon, not Megatron. Starscream was the one who was created for war and bloodshed, and created to be used by Cybertron for war. He is a weapon, regardless of what side he is on, Starscream is a weapon by nature. Whereas, Megatron is not. 

When I write post war for these two, it’s always something Starscream comes to terms with. Megatron’s coding at the end of the day, when he sheds his weapons and becomes peaceful, doesn’t designate him to be a fighter or to be violent. Starscream, however, deals with that coding post war time. His weapons are still hot, his mind is still waiting for another war, it’s hard for him to be peaceful because the only reason he ever existed was to fight. 

In a way he needed the war because it gave him a purpose. When megatron is an autobot, his frame has no need for the war. He can finally be quiet and peaceful and go about his writing. Starscream doesn’t know what to do. Even in times of peace, when he’s supposed to be calm, he has anxiety. Anxiety for another war, anxiety for the fact that he’s useless. And he didn’t want this. He didn’t want to be a weapon and to be naturally violent…it just happens.

He tries to tell Megatron but he also knows biologically, Megatron cannot understand. Really, no one can understand.

Why even kidnap a medic when you don’t even listen to his advice

I’ve been thinking about how birth happens for sparklings with no physical bodies, I’d imagine it would be a lot easier?

Ahh classic Megatron having a more difficult time then he has too because he won't listen to other people

Newborns feed directly off their creators spark which will be slightly modified to accommodate something feeding off it, they also can move freely on their parents armor, if placed on the ground they can’t move and will eventually fizzle out of existence if left alone long enough

Sparklings grow from a ball of electricity to a ball of electricity with limbs that can move without their parents, eventually forming a soft frame when they’re old enough, that armor then flakes off over time for bigger armor or they do it all at once, like a crab (I still haven’t decided). Once they shed into their final size it is totally safe for them to modify their frame

You know what would be funny, Megatron trying to give an announcement to the decepticons but his kids get in the way. Like you expect the information about main jobs that had to be done but you just hear your leader arguing with his three children and talking about Starscream who is also their parent and the whole thing escalates. Like:

Megatron: Today's announcement will be AGNA DON'T TOUCH THAT, DARK START SABER IS NOT A TOY!

Agna( small sparkling 3y.o in human age) is shiny!

Agnos(Agna's twin brother) DAD Look what I found*holding a live scraplet*.

Megatron:PUT THAT DOWN! Ahm- where was I, So today's announcement is...

*Interrupted by a loud crash*

Megatron: YOU TWO WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT NOT TOUCHING MY SWORD!

*Gets up and picks up the twins*

Megatron: and where is your Father?

Agna:He has a day off.

Agnos: yeah and he said that if that idiot can't handle his own children that it's his problem.

Megatron*fake smiled and annoyed* Really that's what he said?

Agna: He also said he told you yesterday and he doesn't care if you are fighting Unicron and Primus himself you are taking us with you.

Agnos:CAN I CARRY YOUR SWORD!?

Megatron: STOP IT, NO ONE'S FIGHTING ANYONE!

*Whispering* Frag he was right, it is his day off.

Megatron:Agna, stop it, and Agnos put that scraplet down.

*Another sparkling enters covered in mud and energon*

Megatron afraid: ATHENA WHAT HAPPENED!!!

Athena:DAD I can fly! And I found this!

*Pulls out a big scraplet with blue eyes*

Athena: I'll try again!

Megatron: YOU ARE GROUNDER AND STOP FALLING FROM THE ROOFTOP!!! And put those scraplets down.

Athena: Better! I was on a cliff! I'll try again higher.

*She ran off and twins followed her*

Megatron processing what she just said:NO!

Everyone hears dragging of metal and twins fight

Megatron annoyed: Stay here until Starscream gets back.

Athena: Looks like father was right!

Megatron: What did he say?

Athena: That you are just an idiot that doesn't care about his family and only reacts when kids make a problem.

Agnos: and that we only make problems so we get your attention.

Agna: and that you don't even know us.

Megatron: HE WHAT? How did you know?

Athena: Everyone knows dad, especially now since you left the broadcast on.

Megatron after realizing that the whole ship heard them and that his family drama is out: Athena you are the oldest and smartest out of three, please take your siblings away and I'll call your father to talk.

Athena: Oh No I'm not a babysitter and I have things to do! You are stuck with us dad.

Megatron exhaling: Today's announcement is simple, day off for the whole ship and don't interrupt me because I'm stuck with my kids that want their heads chopped off- ATHENA LEAVE MY SWORD ALONE!

Athena: But I wanna try some cool moves.

Megatron:Not with that.

Starscream: I'm back!

Everyone: THANK THE PRIMUS!!!

Starscream: Megatron, for the love of mine and the whole universe, TURN OFF THE BROADCAST!

hear me out tho like

a scenario in which the decepticons and autobots have to team up for whatever reason (unicron, quintessons, whatever — take your pick)

and it becomes common knowledge among the autobots that megatron and starscream are together. it isn’t overt, just lingering touches, stares held between the two for just a moment too long, starscream gets away with things that would leave a lesser mech begging for megatron’s mercy while starscream gets the equivalent of a slap on the wrist and a stern glare.

but during a botched raid, starscream is injured. nothing terrible by megatron’s standard, so he elects to forgo seeing to starscream himself until after they debrief

ratchet doesn’t though. he’s the medic after all, has to make sure that every mech on their shoddy team is in the best shape possible if they want any chance at winning this.

so imagine his surprise when he discovers that starscream is sparked, nearing the end of his carriage. and imagine his rage at megatron as he marches his way up to the command center to give megatron hell for sending starscream - still unconscious and unaware of the absolute shit storm that is about to transpire - carrying megatron’s sparkling, into such a dangerous battle

helms fly up when he thunders into the room and there’s a collective hush that falls over them as ratchet goes straight for megatron and decks him square in the jaw

megatron flexes his jaw, optics bright with barely concealed rage as ratchet stares him down, fuming

“did you know?” ratchet hisses dangerously.

“know what?” megatron glares.

“that he’s carrying?”

“who’s carrying?” jazz says bravely from across the table, where he’s sitting with his fellow autobots.

“jazz,” optimus reprimands, having already pieced together what the rest of the room hadn’t.

“starscream,” ratchet snaps.

megatron is up and shouldering past ratchet, knocking him off balance in his hurry to get to the medbay

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I remember you made a fic where only seekers can spark another seeker so Megs got to kinda be in bed with his whole command trine. Along the same like, idea, of Megs getting irritated that he can't get his Star pregnant, have you ever done anything with the fact that Starscream was cold constructed in IDW? Could be that all cold constructed bots are infertile, because why would anyone bother making sure a cold forge bot could procreate?

I got this ask a few days ago and I've been mulling it over and I honestly think if Starscream was in a situation where he wanted a sparkling but physically wasn't capable of creating one... he would steal someone else's. Just straight up baby theft.

A confused Megatron can't even remember Starscream being sparked but that just makes him look like a negligent partner and a bad sire because Megatron THIS baby who looks nothing like you OR Starscream is definitely your son stop asking questions

With how often everyone is taking a new partner how was Megatron sure centron was his bitty? Did he exclusively keep starscream to himself from starting to conception? Do they have paternity tests and it was a gamble until megatrons cna was shown s the other combining code in the processing sparkling?

Just wanna know if there was baby daddy drama when the facton discovered starscream was child bound.

There was actually no sire drama when it came to Centurion. Starscream was (consensually) secluded to a sparking chamber, where the only 2 authorized personnel into the chamber was Megatron and 1 medic- Knockout. It was made extremely clear that if Knockout were to advance on Starscream, he would get his limbs ripped off and the rest of his body would be thrown into Cybertron orbit. His duty was ONLY to make sure Starscream was in perfect health for the entirety of being in the sparkling chamber. Soundwave was on surveillance duty the entire time.

Starscream was promised expansion of power if he was to give Megatron a sparkling. Sure it wasn’t that much that was promised… but you know how power hungry Starscream is.

I lowkey want to draw the sparkling chamber. It looks pretty cute and cozy. Shockwave designed it, keeping in mind Starscream would be in the chamber for a while and making it a comfortable area would help him not get so quickly restless, as he would have to be grounded for the entire time too and be prohibited from transforming.

It took Starscream and Megatron 46 tries to successfully conceive Centurion. After about the 15th try, Starscream’s patience was absolutely gone. Frustration paired with uncomfortable chemical and body changes, being a caged bird, and now having to patiently wait a full cycle to give Megatron a sparkling- Starscream’s temper was through the roof.
