Fandom: Kamonohashi Ron no kindan suiri/Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions

Things had changed ever since Toto met Ron. Or, the forbidden detective had always had the latent sense of style that was unleashed after five years of self-imposed isolation. The police officer realised that Ron was fond of wearing beaded trinkets now. The leather necklace that adorned his neck highlights his 96 scar. Toto couldn’t help looking at it. In fact, he was mesmerised by it.

Ron, in turn, sensed the effect of him wearing these ornaments with the way Toto’s face flustered whenever he caught him looking.

Toto, out of whim, bought the set of leather beaded necklace and bracelet when he was briefly in Aichi a week before Ron’s birthday. Kawasemi-san would have wanted the police officer to stay a few more days but Toto explained that he didn’t want to miss his friend’s 24th birthday celebration.

Scouting for possible souvenirs on a spring sunny day in Aichi, he ended up walking along the long line of shops selling mostly menswear items when he saw a couple of youths loitering around an imbiss across the street. One of them was obviously a mixed race. It made him turn his head twice. The particular man, tattooed and bejewelled, had the same pair of blue eyes and the bushy black hair that changed bluish when reflected in the sunlight. It was Toto’s Eureka moment.

The older police officer was not happy. He knew he should let go. Toto would never betray Ron Kamonohashi.

“I would love to see you again, Isshiki. Preferably sooner and outside of our jobs. However, it is probably moot to convince you to do that. Likewise, temporarily replacing Yamane for the time being…”

Toto shook his head. It was true that he admired his superior’s unique talent, also he didn’t look bad at all. He could ensnare anyone he fancied. But among the options Toto had, which was not that many, he already found his one and only. The question remained if his feelings were also requited.

When the police officers said their goodbyes at the train station platform, with Kawasemi-san’s downcast eyes and melancholic smile, he shook Toto’s right hand and asked not to forget him. Toto said yes and boarded the train going to Tokyo.

What Toto started became Ron’s hobby. He now had an awful lot of collection of accessories that he mixed and matched with his outfit.

“I love them, Toto. You have a good eye, surprisingly, for these things,” said Ron. “You don’t know how happy they made me.”

“I am glad,” Toto laughed nervously.

They were seated on the futon floor when Toto felt Ron’s hand touch his shoulder. It slipped upward striking his nape, and ended up toying with his undercut. Toto shivered, he couldn’t help closing his eyes, wasn’t even aware that he let out a moan.

How strange the universe is. How fickle. Last year, Toto didn’t know that Ron Kamonohashi ever existed. He must send Kiku-san his personal thanks. Perhaps Toto should ask his Oma if she could help him bake her own rendition of Sacher Torte. Kiku-san had a sweet tooth after all, his sweets addiction was well-known in the whole department.

The hand exploring his head stopped and it now landed on his face. Toto opened his eyes. Ron was smiling. His eyes shone the bluest of the blue.

“Will you stay here again tonight, Toto? Found a trick to make that hamburger steak blend in with kuromitsu and red wine.”

“Uh, yes, sure…I-I don’t mind you soaking food with brown sugar at all,” the police officer replied, grinning now.

“Good. I always prefer you here next to me. So, come, Toto!” He gave his hand to his friend and pulled him up. Their hands not letting go. Both satisfied, they headed to the kitchen.

The police officer, red on the face, was delighted to hear the answer to his question. His heart was now full.

I think Rihanna should monetize her messiness instead of just being regarded as 'robyn the bird' by the general public. She should do a reality tv show about the love triangle (square?) with her, breezy ❄️, drake 🦉, asap pebble 🪨 , sophie brussaux 🐌🇫🇷, and karrueche 👘🪭

Drake and Asap will continue their fight for paternity over Adonis 👱, forcing Drake to finally make a diss track towards Asap AND Kdot defending his family.

Asap and Rocky have been friends for awhile, so Chris forgives Asap for saying "I don't beat my b**" and make up again. Asap and Chris start bonding over their love of drugs. Asap introduces Chris to shrooms and Chris introduces Asap to crack. Chris has an epiphany on shrooms and realizes he needs help. He goes to rehab and Asap comes out the closet and realizes Chris was the top to his bottom. He will quit the crack and follow Chris to rehab. Just to be closer to him. But he's not ready to tell Rih he's not just into fashion but also into Chris.

Meanwhile, asap and Chris are both still cheating. Karrueche's restraining order expires and she gives Chris one last chance. He throws her down the stairs again and she renews her restraining order for another ten years. Rih gets online and throws subliminals with rice cakes but adds sushi this time. Asap goes back n forth between Rih (playing the family guy) while dissing Drake and having orgies with white women in beds he created solely for that purpose. He even makes a spring so the bed will snap shut if Rihanna walks in the room, and open again when she walks out of it.

Bec Asap and Chris have reunited, they now both go at Drake in one big song, where they also convince Sophie to add a verse. They also find Drake's hidden child in the forest of Fiji and surprise Drake with a verse from his own hidden child dissing him.

Rihanna will continue selling her underwear throughout this ordeal. and putting on makeup. But when she reaches for a pink speedo she has begun selling in her menswear underwear line, she realizes it has been used. She starts having flashbacks of all the times Asap has asked to borrow her skirt. He said he was using it as a kilt, but at the time, it was still a skirt. Rihanna sells five times the amount of underwear she would normally bec the reality show is a success. Rihanna gets help for her baking addiction. Powder is no longer a part of her fabric. Tune in next time to see if Asap will come out to Rih, if he wore the underwear or someone else in her life has, if Drake will now claim his hidden child or will throw diss shots back, will Asap steal fenty money to make Chris gay for pay, will Chris relapse and accept the money, will one of Asap's orgy partners get caught.

I think it’s morbidly interesting how Demna has centered his creative language around taking anything that might be seen as subversive or avant-grade in fashion and sterilizing it as fast as his design team can work. The fashion cycle moves so quickly now that any look or scene or cultural moment that pops up and becomes relevant to some “alternative” group of real people can be immediately filtered through the Balenciaga design team and made banal. The most common pushback I get to my criticism of Demna/Balenciaga/Vetements is that I don’t “get it” and that the irony is lost on me but I think he’s just engaging with the ironies of the industry in the most surface level way imaginable that isn’t anywhere near as compelling as what’s already been done by designers like Shayne Oliver or Victor Barragán or Glenn Martens or Martine Rose (who is responsible for the only good parts of contemporary Balenciaga menswear). Demna has this Seth MacFarlane approach to design that’s just trawling pop culture for anything edgy that is going to elicit a reaction from the widest demographic possible. This is a long way of saying fake-edgy “high concept” designer clothing is a thousand times less interesting than what internet addicted antisocial middle school boys are actually wearing.
