A fusion of classic craft and contemporary style, the Furlong Roll Neck is a casual lighter knit that's surprisingly warm.
We often look to traditional fishermen's knits for inspiration and know-how, and the Furlong is no different. Built from 100% mid-weight Merino, with roll neck for added winter warmth, the result is a modern classic: seamlessly blending both function and form.

Nothing worse than finally having enough yoke to try the sweater on and realizing ‘damn, this yarn feels fucking terrible’.
I’ll just wear a shirt under it and learn for next time cuz I already own enough yarn to finish the sweater lol

like [in re plastic article i posted earlier] i'm currently wearing one of my fave tees that's, god, i don't know, a good five years old now anyway, and it's a triblend which means it's got some polyester in it, and while i've appreciated the way that's enabled it to straddle use cases over the years—e.g. (1) bicycling to class and then (2) looking like a normal person once i got there—at this point it's starting to pill a little, as poly always inevitably does, and getting rattier and less comfy as a result? and like, i guess i'll try using a fabric shaver on it and see if that helps some, but like. not an issue with 100% cotton tees!

There are roughly 5 types of yarn:
Wool that is scratchy to death, i am touching steel wool why is it prickly the horrors are unending
Wool that is not scratchy, but has too many strands and feels like an unholy abomination created in a lab that should not exist. Second iteration of this: yarn of any material that also feels like that (example: some very fluffy acrylic effect yarns).
Yarn that just is. Most cotton yarns fall under this, it's not scratchy it's not weird it's pretty neutral. Might be lovely, might be boring, but nothing to object against.
Super soft yarn that feels perfect. A lot of merino, often silk blends, for some reason yak merino mixes, most alpaka, amazing cotton and linen ones. My beloveds.
Various other yarns that are not neutral and not extra soft but some other texture, that is however also not one of the bad ones.

Going to Nevada to see both my boyfriend and my brother, and I've been at the airport in Texas for hours. I am so tired. I've only slept for two hours on the first plane. I had to change my first flight to an earlier time because I wouldn't have been able to make my connection otherwise. So I've been stuck here for four hours. Kill me now.
