शालू आर्य अल्मोड़ा जिले के बग्वालीपोखर स्थित डोटल गावं की रहने वाली है, शालू आर्य के पिता गोपाल आर्य जो कि मजदूरी करते हैं ने बताया कि शालू काफी मेहनती है और बचपन से ही गाने का शौक रखती थी।
