hello all! i'm looking to step back into writing & roleplaying after an abrupt hiatus for very personal reasons. my apologies to anyone i may have been in talks with before. if you are still interested, definitely feel free to reach back out! but i want nothing more right now than to write for my comfort fandom, attack on titan.

❧ 18+ writers only. preferably 21+. i'm a 26 year old woman and only interested in writing with people near my own age or older.

❧ canon/oc pairings & doubling.

❧ third-person, past-tense, multi-paragraph. descriptive writing is highly preferred. "pointless" details that fully bring the scene to life are my bread and butter. i love knowing how the characters are feeling at any given moment, their internal struggles, or character building of any sort. not everything needs to be action and dialogue. i love a good mix of everything.

❧ my post length ranges anywhere from a couple of paragraphs per character to 1k onwards. at the moment, i'm not really looking to do major novella like i have in the past. shorter responses are what i'm really craving rn.

Introduction

Hello, I'm JJ. I'm 18 (will be 19 soon) and I've been doing literate roleplay for about a decade. I've had a couple of different roleplay partners over the years, but for the most part, I've had a singular consistent partner this entire time (my now boyfriend). I'm in my first year of uni for a medical degree, as well as working a job, but I usually roleplay 5+ times per day, even more if we're both actively typing and I'm really into it lol. I'm in EST, and I tend to go to bed around midnight, but again, I often force myself to stay up to get a few more responses in if the plot is really good ^_^.

Requirements

I do request that you be at least 18, as I do like nsfw plots! I understand that if you're under that age, you may also like that (as i did), but I just personally don't feel comfortable role-playing that with someone underage.

My second requirement is that you are at least somewhat literate. I usually roleplay on Instagram, but I'm definitely more open to discord until we develop more of a friendship due to it offering more anonymity. I usually write ~600 words per response, but it can and will vary based on your responses. What I will not do is a 10+ paragraph response. I just personally feel that a lot of the aspects of role-playing that I enjoy, like playing off of one another, gets lost really easily like that.

Hey folks! Decided to spice things up with another roleplay request because my recent ones have been incredibly dry. Today, I'm itching to dive into a My Hero Academia roleplay – it's been too long, and I'm ready to jump back in! My main muse is Shigaraki and I'm looking for someone that might be interested in doing Overhaul. I've already established a couple plots for the pairing, but I'm not opposed to brainstorming. 𖦹 Absolutely NO minors. This is nonnegotiable, I am an adult and I just find it uncomfortable to roleplay with anyone underage. It's nothing personal, it just isn't my thing.

𖦹 I'm seeking partners who can maintain a relatively active presence. If you find yourself only able to respond after prolonged periods, be it days or weeks, kindly refrain from reaching out. The same goes for individuals who send a handful of messages and then vanish into thin air. Personally, I'm not keen on playing the cat-and-mouse game or chasing after fleeting interactions. If you're not invested in roleplaying with me, that's completely fine, but please, let's avoid the intentional ghosting route. I'm here to forge authentic connections, and I've moved past the point of engaging in such games with others.

𖦹 I consider myself literate to advanced when it comes to my writing abilities. Typically, my replies span around 10-20 lines, though the length can be influenced by the content I have to work with and my current level of motivation. Generally, I tend to mirror my partner's responses most of the time. I'm not overly demanding when it comes to my partner's responses. As long as there's effort, I'm content and won't complain. However, I do require some of the basics, such as reasonable grammar, accurate spelling, and a firm no to one-liners.

𖦹 I have little to no triggers. No, seriously, don't be afraid to shoot any ideas that you'd like to share with me, the worst that can happen is that I simply say no. The only thing's I'd rather not explore is heavy descriptions of suicide/self harm, underage, extreme gore and snuff. Besides that? Pretty much anything else is on the table for discussion. I'd heavily prefer a partner that has little triggers as well. 🕊️

𖦹 Regarding genres, I tend to gravitate strongly towards darker themes. While it's not a strict prerequisite, if you want to grab my attention, this is what truly captivates me. In my roleplays, I enjoy incorporating a diverse range of elements, including angst, slow burn, conflict, romance, drama, fantasy, fluff, and everything in between. It's more of a personal preference, but I find that it adds a layer of intrigue and keeps things engaging!

𖦹 Make sure you've got Discord on hand. I mainly rely on Tumblr for partner searches, but the actual roleplay almost exclusively takes place on Discord. Keep this in mind when reaching out!

𖦹 Lastly, be open to some OOC banter and easygoing conversation. I'm a pretty laid back person, just looking to have a good time! If you're super uptight and refuse to engage with jokes or casual chats, we might not be the best match, unfortunately. Even if you're an amazing roleplayer, if you're not open to any form of out-of-character interactions, it could honestly dampen the enjoyment of the roleplay for me.

just finished watching an aitsf lp so here's my thoughts on the game

jokes aside, this is long (an pretty negative) so i'm putting it all under the cut so it's easy to scroll past

it was a solid okay in general i guess in that i can see why other people would enjoy it, but it was bad to me.

aiba was mostly just an enjoyable presence than anything super deep but that's fine, she worked well enough to make her aspect of the finale emotional.

the plot is cool enough in concept but kinda shakily put together in execution (not helped by iris being one of the weakest characters with easily the worst route, when she's supposed to be very important)

mizuki and mayumi were far and away the best aspect, and their stuff was basically relegated to their respective endings. goddd the right side routes hurt, to see date kinda ignore mizuki in favor of focusing on iris (JUST LIKE RENJU) was almost poetic. in a painful way.

i'd already known most of the big spoilers for the game (though my jaw did drop at the reveal of who shot hitomi), but the final delivering of answers to the mystery and the climax were enjoyable.

the game's tone really does not work for me outside of the moments where it's really serious (i'd say the purely goofy ones too but i despise 90% of the humor in those). i dont think it marries its stakes and goofy-ness well, they often just feel discordant to the point of undercutting its narrative (unlike something like re:kinder, whose juxtaposition of humor and tragedy manages to enhance both aspects)

i'd be able to just slap a "it was pretty okay" sticker on it.........if it wasn't for the constant, icky, gross, pervy humor that often isn't funny even when it actually is about/involving adults of similar age.

but so often it isn't, it's men making these gross comments and jokes about women decades younger than them, or the game making the girls (even mizuki!) do that coy "omggg are you a pervert, thinking about [explicit thing] with me!?" thing that plays into that viewer fantasy.

this aspect is so frequent and widespread that it manages to ruin pretty much every single male character (that's intended to be viewed at least somewhat sympathetically) in the game. i think renju and pewter might be the only exceptions? and i'll get to them....

and then there's saito...

this sort of thing is Not new for uchik*shi (this aspect of [spoiler character]'s motivations is one of my biggest issues with 999), but it's definitely the most caricature-ish i've seen from him so far, the absolute embodiment of ableist villain writing…

boss could've been more interesting if she got more focus (and if date wasn't just like. winning the idgaf wars about her+abis being in seijima's pocket in resolution ending).

date when abis is corrupt in a way that inconveniences him:

date when the corruption works in his favor: *conspicuously silent*

speaking of that, let's get into ai the homophobia files (not super indepth cause i'm getting tired)

that extremely shoehorned in lgbt support message would come across a lot better if those characters weren't so poorly treated. like it's crazy how renju+pewter's relationship is an important factor of the plot and they just Don't explore it At All after revealing it.

pewter's treatment particularly is just. nuts. it hit me a brick after finishing the game, but it is actually crazy that date was really telling pewter he deserves to be in jail for (unknowingly!) assisting in someone else's attempted murder, while literally being an ex-hitman

LIKE BOSS, CAN YOU NOT PULL SOME FUCKING STRINGS HERE!? LIKE YOU DID FOR AN ACTUAL SERIAL MURDERER!? TWICE!? (i know she does do this in the sequel but i guarantee that was a response to people reacting negatively to this aspect of the first game)

like the bizarre difference in treatment ends up coming across like they didn't even have pewter end up in jail for committing crimes, it was for committing them while gay. committing them Because he's gay, even. a classic.

there's other stuff but this has gone on long enough and im tired of thinking and writing.

Hey, I'm Noeul, 26, they/she/he, MST Arizona. Author of 15 years, artist and roleplayer, here and there. Wanting to get into collaborative writing again after dealing with a recent breakup, it helps me cope tbh. I'll try to keep things concise.

- First things first because this is very important: I'm extremely hesitant on romance, in that shipping my characters with yours. Toxic past partners and me already pairing my ocs together, I'm sorry but I'm trying to be a bit more open with it. Just don't come at me wanting do strictly romance, and we can talk. (This isn't a "no", I'm still willing to discuss it, but it can't be the central focus)

- Please always assume that I'm busy; I work security and have to manage a healthy work-life balance. I might not always be around to chat, and my responses to the RP can vary from once every other day to once a week. I'll let you know of any changes, though.

- That said, I DO love to get to know each other! I might not be as verbose and I can tend to come off apathetic, but I love sharing playlists, memes, art, pinterest boards, what-have-you. Don't be afraid to send me anything not pertaining to the RP.

- I am primarily a multi-para to novella writer, and my style of writing can lean more into the cryptic, flowery and poetic range, third-person past-tense. It is just my flavour of creativity, and I don't expect you to be as verbose/detailed. Really.

- I absolutely adore sci-fi, urban fantasy, high fantasy and dystopia. High-action, drama, dark and gritty are my go-tos, but I also enjoy more lighthearted and hopeful themes, things in-line with Studio Ghibli and whatnot. I primarily like to focus on my current main story (urban supernatural with a focus on the unknown, with an extensive history that I'm always more than happy to elaborate on), and have a handful of side projects/AUs that always need developing. [001] welcome to warsavant, an independent writing blog for mitth'raw'nuruodo set in the star wars saga created by george lucas. this version is drawn from and interpreted through the lens of both canon and legends timelines with a heavy emphasis on his historical inspirations, headcanons, and written media.   despite the mixture of sources, this blog is both timeline compliant.

[002]  while my first love in star wars was the legends timeline, growing up with its expanded universe of books, i very much enjoy the new timeline and its characters. i have many quibbles with disney's choices, especially in its overall pacing for historical events and certain retcons of its own content, but overall, i've come to love it too. as such, while i welcome criticism of both timelines and/or the choice to only write in one of the two, i won't be likely to follow if you post consistently about your dislike for one or another. also, i never expect my fellow writers to have the same level of knowledge, either more or less. whether you're brand new to it all, been obsessed with it since birth, or anywhere in between, you've got just the right amount of knowledge for me. finally, due to my occupation, i'm pretty good at research and summing up information, so if you need a research assistant of sorts for anything, feel free to ask!

[003] this is a selective blog, which means i won't interact in-character with blogs i don't follow in return and may pick and choose what i actually write. i absolutely understand mistakes happen for the former, but if you'd like to message me about writing / like a starter or plotting call, please do so only if we are mutuals. when i'm active on a blog, i regularly check for new followers and go through their blogs, so messaging me asking if i'm interested will not make me more likely to follow you back. that being said, non-mutual roleplay blogs and personals are more than welcome to message me about characters and new content. i love making new friends! while i enjoy asks, i prefer threads and really love plotting out storylines, following through those plans, to mesh and grow both sides' muses. i focus on the above on this blog, but that isn't required to interact.

[004] i know at least a little about a wide range of fandoms and time periods, so i'm not only interested in writing within purely star wars verses. i love aus and usually find placing characters easy, so even if you don't see a verse for a fandom, just ask! if you've seen my other blogs, you'll know ocs are also near and dear to my heart, so they're very welcome here as well.

[005] activity here may be sporadic. i not only have other blogs, but i run my own business and help my family. i also have chronic health issues that complicate everything on top of that. these responsibilities may lead to unannounced hiatuses for short periods of time (typically no more than a month), but i'll always return. if you'd like to keep in regular contact and you're a mutual, feel free to ask for my discord. additionally, i often place in-character content into the queue, alternating it with text or image reblogs.

[006] when it comes to romantic shipping, i ship with chemistry. this means i may be selective with shipping, and am especially so here, but queries toward this are always welcome. i don't autoship, and i enjoy shipping canons and ocs. additionally, i find there's heavy fetishization of same sex relationships within the roleplaying community. i watch for this in those i follow and am far more selective with these ships. i also feel that a character's platonic relationships are just as or, sometimes, more important than their romantic ones. i don't need to ship to write and would far rather build detailed enemies and friends than a half-cooked romance.

[007] you can expect darker themes on this blog, especially those surrounding war and the general ones explored by star wars content.  i tag most common triggers, nsfw content, and those requested by my mutuals.  however, if you believe something would be a common theme on this blog beyond the common trigger tags, and it'll trigger you, please don't follow.  the trigger tag for this blogs is 'trigger tw'.  i personally don't have triggers.

[008]  this is a mun doesn't equal muse blog.  i don't care what allegiances or beliefs your muse may have.  unless i see clear and substantiated evidence of various bigoted beliefs out of character, i'll always assume you're a decent human being whether you write villains, heroes, or anything in between. even if we write people with good views and intentions, we still might not entirely agree with their choices, and it wouldn't be fair to assume that either.  please extend me the same courtesy.

[009]  on this note, i'm almost entirely anti-callout.  i've been on this site for several years and over time, i've witnessed a slow degradation of what is considered a valid callout.  often, they have little to no substantiated evidence and\or result from twisted evidence in the aftermath of a fallout between friends or a misunderstanding.  unless i see substantiated evidence of criminal behavior, i won't reblog them nor do i really want to see them in general. that being said, if someone i follow has personally hurt you, please come and talk to me about it in ims.  i don't tolerate bullies.

I'm a fan of both canon characters and OCs, although my grasp on the lore might be a bit shaky due to Riot's changes. However, don't let that deter you – I'm all in for co-creating our own Runeterra, and I'm open to learning more from you if you're well-versed in the lore.

My interests lie in exploring Noxus, particularly with a focus on Katarina, as well as Piltover with a dash of Vi x Caitlyn.

My mun works full time, so while they try to reply daily (often times sooner!) sometimes human flesh is not as robust as robot steal. Certainly, humans can only aspire to be more, but I cannot blame them for issues created in the flesh manufacturing process. However, if you have been waiting several days for a reply feel free to message my mun as it is entirely possible they did not see a reply has been made, or have made some other unintentional error. Hello! I am a huge fan of ur writing. I've loved everything I've read of yours. I've read alot of what you've posted, except for a couple of the tags that are squicky for me (so I'm very thankful you tag very thoroughly). No judgement for the squick, it's just not for me. & when I'm having a bad day, I usually just go thru ur ao3 and find something to reread. I think about Therapy's Bruce & Jason every damn day. While I obvs appreciate ur darker more "problematic" content (I really vibe with some of the themes you write about bc of my own trauma, & so it's very cathartic to read about in a fictional setting), I am truly a sucker for ur more happy content. The Happily Ever After verse also lives in my head rent free. Idk more wholesome stuff just seems more special when you write it. Anyways. I would die for you. But the point of this ask is cause I'm curious as to why you don't like Urban Legends? I'm sorry if you already talked about it here or on twitter and I missed it. I was just wondering because I really enjoy your take on things and would love to hear why you dislike it. I've been enjoying it so far personally, but I am always open to DC comics criticism.

I haven't talked about Urban Legends here or twitter (I haven't been very active in either place lately. Just a lot going on and no energy 😔) but I'm happy to do it here.

Before I start though, I just want to add a standard disclaimer and make it clear that if you like it, there's nothing wrong with that and you don't have to let me ruin it for you lol. Like what you like.

That said, since you asked...

I said this when I was talking about it on discord, that there is a difference between hope and expectation. I always hope that a new story centered on Jason (or anyone really, but things have been especially egregious for Jay for 15 years) will be good or at least treat the character with a minimal level of respect (to be honest, the bar is super fucking low). But my expectations always temper my hope, to keep it from getting unrealistic. Because my expectations are based on experience.

The long history of Jason Todd, since even before his resurrection, has been one of retroactively trying to make him "a bad seed" in order to absolve Bruce of any responsibility in his death.

I don't even expect DC or their writers to start honoring the fact that Jason was not an angry, reckless Robin (and less of the later than Dick or Tim and definitely Damian). There plenty of ways that retcon can be folded into his history and be compelling and sympathetic. And if they're going to stick with that retcon, I'm only asking that they do it in one of those compelling and sympathetic ways because Jason was 15 when he died, heroically, in one of the most selfless acts in comics, to save a woman who literally handed him over to be brutally murdered. He was 12 when Bruce plucked him off the streets, he'd been homeless and fending for himself for at least two years. I personally think that Jason's story hits harder for him and Bruce if their original, canon relationship, of Jason as starry-eyed and eager to learn and absolutely devoted to Bruce and Bruce to Jason, is preserved. But Jason's origins does leave room for a meaningful interpretation of him as angry and frustrated at the lack of meaningful results of Bruce's methods.

And that's really where my irritation at stories like Batman: Urban Legends, Cheer and Batman The Adventure Continues has it's roots.

Every time one of these stories comes out, I think (or hope, rather) that this will be the one that remembers and respects the origins of the Jason and the Red Hood, that takes into account the changed sensibilities of comics readers in the 30 years since Jason's death and the subtle, 20 year, retroactive campaign to make him the "bad Robin". The "born bad" trope is played out and literally no one likes the message it implies. That some kids are just bad eggs and there's nothing parents or the adults around them can do. Especially when it's played as the kid's fault. If Jason's time as Robin is going to be characterized by anger, then it should be rooted in anger at the social injustices he witnessed as he grew up in an impoverished, crime-ridden, area and the horrors he faced raising himself when every day was a battle for survival. There are topical, meaningful, stories to tell with that backdrop.

But those are never the stories we get.

⚠⚠ Spoilers for Batman: Urban Legends, Cheer ⚠⚠

I'm particularly disappointed in Urban Legends because for the first issue, it looked like that was the kind of story we were going to get. I was put off by the first flashback of Jason being mesmerized by Bruce's guns, and I got that feeling in my gut that it was a bad sign. Jason depicted as impatient and overconfident and the scene with the guns is heavy-handed foreshadowing that got my spidey-sense tingling. I had a inkling then (in the first three pages) of how this story was going to play out, but it was early and I could still see many narrative paths that could lead to a satisfying story. My concerns were soothed somewhat and the little flame of my hope fanned, with the flashback of Alfred scolding Bruce, with Barbara's concern for Jason. A bit of worry returned with the way Jason ruthlessly pursued an addict who didn't appear to be a dealer and with the ending of the issue. The stuff with the addict sat wrong with me but the ending was tempered some by how despicable Tyler's dad was written. The scene was clearly set so that the reader could sympathize with Jason's decision and the scene with the addict could be brushed aside as a side-effect of comics over-the-top need for constant action, so I still held hope.

Issue 2 made me uncomfortable and it's where my hope starts to take a backseat to my expectations. I can dismiss Jason's self-deprecating internal monologue as unreliable narration, except that the flashback reinforces his thought process to explicitly show that it's not unreliable narration, and should be taken at face value. Jason faces physical abuse at the hands of his mother's drug dealer and when the flashback continues later, Jason kills the drug dealer. To be clear, this is a pre-Bruce Jason. His mom is still alive. He's like... 10. He kills this guy for shoving his head into a wall and implying Jason's mother paid for her drugs with sex. This is a scene that serves a single purpose. To show that Jason has always been prone to violence.

In the spirit of full disclosure, there is the small chance the drug dealer might not be dead. But the story obviously wants the reader to think he is, and it hasn't done anything to change that yet.

Starlin already did this story with The Diplomat’s Son in 1988 and he did it infinitely better. AND that’s still technically canon. So now I’m supposed to believe that Jason lost his cool bad enough to kill two douche bags before his sweet 16? Like it’s totally normal for abused kids raised in poverty, who’ve led hard and heartbreaking lives to just... haul off and kill people? That’s bullshit, and when taken with the Jason in the third issue, who is little more than an idiot thug, this story is really doubling down on some fucked up stereotypes.

Which brings us to the most recent issue. I went into this installment with very low expectations. I thought this story was going to be about Jason, through this experience with Tyler, a young boy with a similar background to Jason's, coming to the realization that Bruce's way is the best way and that Bruce did his best by Jason.

That would be annoying (in no small part because it takes increasingly absurd levels of plot armor to keep Bruce's no kill rule relevant, let alone irrefutably right). But I can probably live with that, if only because maybe if Jason officially falls back into line with the Bats crusade, maybe I'll get stories that treat him with respect, stories that don't relegate him to comic relief, dumb brute, or a background body with no lines in a story about the Joker burning Gotham (like Jason would just fucking stand there quietly for that).

And that may still be where the story is going, Jason realizing Bruce is right.

But holy shit do I not have the right words to describe how fucking insulting and gross issue three is.

From start to finish--including the flashback--Jason is written as cruel and fucking stupid. Like straight up dumb.

The entire issue is Bruce explaining the fucking basics to Jason like it's his first day. And Jason flies off the fucking handle and terrorizes a doctor he knows isn't a part of making the Cheerdrops, beats the shit out of some random addicts, and finally, when he can't accomplish anything on his own because he's a dumb brute he calls Barbara for help and rushes in with no information where he's promptly incapacitated and must now wait to be rescued by Batman.

This panel is the least of the issues sins but I can’t screenshot the entire story but it’s representative of the tone for the whole issue (and retroactively tainted the prior two issues).

This is beyond insulting. The only conclusions Jason comes to in this issue are the ones Bruce leads him to by talking to him like he can’t make the simplest connections. And like... in this story Jason can’t make the simplest connections.

This (and the Jason throughout the entirety of this issue) is a far cry from the Jason we fell in love with in Under the Red Hood, who was competent and strategic and intelligent enough to seize control of Gotham’s underworld from Black Mask (who’s no fucking slouch, he’s the first and only person to unify organized crime in Gotham) AND elude and manipulate Bruce until the time and place of his choosing.

This is a far cry from even the Red Hood and the Outlaws Jason who is competent enough to fight the League of Shadows and Ra’s al Ghul (among very dangerous and skilled others) and smart enough to create antidotes for mind control nanotech viruses.

As he should be, by the way. Jason Todd is one of the best, most comprehensively trained fighters in DC’s stable of non powered vigilantes. He’s not irrational or hot headed. He’s pragmatic, tactically minded, and patient. He’s a detective. Right now. Has been since he was 12. Bruce doesn’t have to make him one because he already is. 

Jason is not a stupid thug who uses his fists because his brain doesn’t work. And I can’t tell you how so very exhausted I am by this narrative. 

This is actually the most egregious example of Jason’s skills and intelligence being not just undermined but dismissed entirely. Even Morrison’s Jason had some degree of competency. 

The one, single redeeming factor of this story is the art. It’s beautiful. And Marcus To is a godsend he seems to be one of only a couple of artists who remember that Jason was a child when he was Robin and I’m literally only buying this book because of him. 

Anyway, I’m sorry. I didn’t want that to come out so... um... passionately lol. I’m just very very tired. My intention with this isn’t to ruin it for you, if you like it, that’s fine. 

But this issue shot this story to the top of my "Vehemently Despise” list. 1) Batman: Urban Legends (Cheer), 2) Battle for the Cowl/Morrison’s Batman and Robin, 3) Batman The Adventure Continues.

I hope the next issues somehow salvage this dumpster fire. But I’m not expecting it.

(Damnit. That sounded harsh again. To reiterate, I’m not trying to judge anyone who enjoys it, I just personally hate it and you asked me why lol 😅)
