Salty fandom asks: 1, 5, 9, 14 (for any fandom), 23?

I'm a one fandom person so this is going to be about Oxventure. It also turned into such a rant, I'm so sorry but also that's probably the point of this ask game.

1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

Barnaby/Lilith. Don't understand it at all. Why are you burdening a fantastic, devoted and intelligent woman with an absolute trainwreck? Lilith doesn't deserve this! Barnaby is such a fuckhead and truly does not get better throughout the series (he gets more capable, but is almost the exact same level of shitty at the end), and I think Lilith deserves better.

5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?

Okay, I do still like it, kind of, but it's just everywhere and I don't think it's interesting enough to justify that. There are so many options and I don't understand sticking to just one.

9. Most disliked character(s)? Why?

Recently? Dob. I don't like the guilt arc. Whenever it was featured it really ground the episode to a halt (Hunter Pressure and early Orbpocalypse being good examples of this) and it felt like such a clunky decision from Luke rather than naturalistic character development.

Also, the Katie arc was funny, but I cannot stand and have never enjoyed the Liliana nonsense. It wrecks any tension/suspense which, given that this is primarily a comedy, would be fine if it was funny, but I don't think it is. It's especially annoying when you combine with Dob's guilt arc, because he was just getting all uptight about murder before forgetting that and loving a full supervillain!

I think we're quick to make excuses for the show because it's "just a comedy" but a) lots of comedy becomes very heartfelt and complex (Dimension 20 anyone?), and b) they are clearly putting in more serious elements and we are allowed to critique those. I really like the show but I haven't been keeping up with the latest season after the start of episode 2, because Liliana showed up and it completely killed my interest.

The Oxventure is, and always has been, funny, but it used to have heart as well. I think there's less of that than there used to be.

14. Unpopular opinion about your fandom?

I don't think I have one, it's too small. Sometimes I feel like headcannons are a little stereotypical, but that's just fandom baby! It's not hurting anyone. Also put read-mores on long posts please. Or at least tag long post.

23. Unpopular character you love?

I don't think that there are unpopular Oxventure characters, I've seen pretty balanced spreads across the whole fandom. In terms of other stuff i.e. my beloved Monster Prom series, my favourite characters are Aaravi, Joy, then Valerie, which, from a cursory search, doesn't seem to be the most popular opinion.

chuckles evilly…. satoru’s the kind of omega that knows that other people want him, knows that he could date or sleep with pretty much anybody he wants, but there’s only one person he wants and it’s you, and he’s stubborn and insufferable about it. you seem to be the only alpha in his life that’s immune to him and it drives him crazy—it doesn’t matter how much he flirts, how good he smells, how many times he pouts and blinks and calls you alpha, you just smile and ruffle his hair and it kills him. he doesn’t get it. even nanami has had to take a step away from him when he’s close his heat, but you’re not phased by him at all. 

it’s bordering on pathetic bc you’re not even mates, not even dating, not even close to being anything really—you’re friends and have been for a while, but that doesn’t stop satoru from throwing himself onto you, from pouting, and from proudly declaring that you’re His alpha. he brags and brags and brags to anyone who will listen about how he’s in the best pack in the world, how you’re the best alpha of them all, how he’s the luckiest omega ever, but every time he’s hit with the reality that he’s not yours, he gets unreasonably upset. sometimes, he even tries to take it out on you, gets himself sick or drunk or lets his pheromones run wild while he clings to you and slurs about how you’re supposed to be a good alpha, and take care of him. gets himself all worked up, pacing the floor and pouting and ranting incoherently about how he’s always been yours and it’s not fair that you’re not his and he’s being irrational and he’s definitely not sober, but still, all you have to do is call his name and barely nip at his wrist and it’s like his entire body resets. he freezes and goes slack and he’s scolding himself internally because he’s so weak to you and he can’t do anything to make you succumb to him. 

it’s not like he’d change that tho. it bothers him that he has no sway over you, but, truthfully, he loves the control that you have over him. he likes you can tame him, he likes belonging to you like that. he just wants to have you like that, too. and so yes he’s desperate, yes he’s pathetic, yes he’ll do anything for your attention, but he doesn’t care, satoru wants you and he will do whatever it takes to have you

at first I was thinking about drawing them teaching Wayne to skate (guess it makes sense given that Tyler was canonically on a hockey team at some point) but then I realised that although Lindsay and Tyler are both dumb as shit, they'd at least have the common sense (or not be as fucked in the head.. either one works fine) to know it would be a bit too extreme to try and teach their son to skate before he could even walk

teaching him to catch was probably tamer (not for Tyler though)

Vague modern AU vibes abound! Kinda a fun funky exercise thinking about the two of them away from the others, quite sweet.

Who buys the advent calendars?

I think they'd get two. Merilwen would pick the pictures only one (and I don't know if you can get handmade advent calenders, but she'd find them), and Corazón would have to have one with gifts. He'd switch up what type every year.

Who places mistletoe all around the house?

Corazón. Whore (affectionate). This guy can fit so much polyamory in him and you best bet he's gonna be taking any opportunity to have a smooch.

Who wraps the presents for other people?

Merilwen picks the presents, Corazón wraps them. I think Merilwen would hate wrapping presents. Cat thing maybe? She seems like she's get annoyed by wrapping paper and odd shaped gifts. Corazón likes making pretty things and is very aware that the effort invested versus praise received ratio for nice wrapping is very skewed in his direction.

Who’s the one that bakes Christmas cookies for guests?

Collaborative! Corazón would initiate this project (there would be a lot. Large scale projects only for this guy) and then run out of steam. Merilwen would finish the four bowls of partly-made mixture and put all of them through the oven. They'd both smash it out the park with the decorating.

Who knows all the words to Twelve Days of Christmas?

Merilwen, because elves have great memories. I absolutely refuse to believe that Corazón would ever sing Twelve Days of Christmas without making it about himself. TBH I essentially refuse to believe that Corazón really knows the lyrics to any song and always makes them up as he goes along.

Who’s the better snowman builder?

Merilwen, she's far more patient. Also I think she has water/ice manipulation spells. If it were posed in the context of a competition I think Corazón would do a lot better simply out of spite and refusal to back down.

Who starts snowball fights?

Honestly either. Corazón would certainly throw a snowball with the intent to start a war, but also Merilwen would throw the first snowball and then disappear in the wake of the chaos.

Who’s the one that wakes the other on Christmas morning by playing Christmas songs really loudly?

Imagining that Merilwen sleeps, then Corazón, 100%. If Merilwen remains elf-y, then still Corazón, except he's not waking her up, he's waking all of the neighbours up and she has to deal with them at seven in the morning.

i have a very bare bones notes page on how their meeting. there's more before this point. the gist of it is that miyamoto feigns almost passing out to scam delia out of some food before she closes her restaurant for the night. delia doesn't let her leave to make sure she's actually okay before hitting the road again and they get to talking

heyyy ;) so i use a shit ton but i did answer a similar ask here listing my fave skin details. adding to that, i also recommend these lip tints + this body blush (i only use dark) to give your sims more life.

i usually make sims in the order of:

1. sculpting the face 2. adding tints, depth/shadows, + highlights (usually in occult and tattoos slots) 3. adding overlays/blends + features (skin details) 4. makeup

Asjlkhdkgkd I'm so glad you liked it!! I had fun putting a little story into that one ^^

And, because I am normal and don't think about these guys for hours every day, here's some backstory:

When Cross first joined, Killer actually took to him pretty quickly (Dust and Horror did not get warm welcomes). Which is to say he immediately started flocking to Cross to annoy him and compete with him on missions. Cross didn't have the benefit of knowing Killer already to see these were affectionate annoyances, so to him Killer was just some guy who had a problem and wouldn't leave him alone.

During that mission, Nightmare was calling a retreat when he put a hand to his chest and realised the heart locket was gone. Killer saw him looking all around frantically and had a good idea what was lost, since it was the one thing Cross would absolutely not part with since he joined. So, Killer ran back out towards the stars to look for it, because why learn self preservation now. It was the first thing to convince Cross that Killer actually was being (relatively) friendly, despite all the annoyances.

because it's probably the only time he's managed to get Killer to shut up lol
