MGADD SPOILERS
Y’all remember in ep 9 (Skip this Ad...olescense) when the Skipster shuffled skips? With season 1 complete I decided to look back and y’all, I found some cool stuff!!
Of course, in the first skip Lunella goes back too far. But something I missed the first time was little Casey! (Left side)
Tumblr media
Next skip shows Torg from ep 13 (Devil on her shoulder). Also, this is when shuffle mode was activated.
Tumblr media
We got Lunella’s 16th birthday! I’m pretty sure she’s 13 in the show so it’s nice to think we’ll get enough eps to see her grow the next 3 years
Tumblr media
Next skip we get the infamous Eduardo and Lunella dance date. Idk about you but I personally think they went as friends (I want Eduardo and Lunella friendship for the ADHD and Autism solidarity)
Another note: When Lunella says “Eduardo?!” he looks confused as well which is different from the other skips where no one reacts
Tumblr media
When I saw this one I was shocked! It’s the fight with Morlak/ Maris ep 15/16 (OMG Issue #1-2)
Tumblr media
Then we go back to ep 13 where Devil is tiny. Little cutie!
Tumblr media
Now onto future spoilers (?) In the finale Lunella goes into the portal to shut it down, so she went into another dimension. A dimension with another MG!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next skip we get karaoke from ep 7 (Goodnight, Moon Girl)
Tumblr media
Not sure what’s happening here but looks like MG is fighting a huge robot! Does this look familiar to anyone in the Marvel universe?
Tumblr media
Then we get Future! Lunella/ MG who looks just like our beloved Mimi (Any Rise fans here? funny how similar the future designs are. We got the robot arm, cape/scarf combo, and cool looking tech)
Wonder what’s happening with the wanted posters in the background, looks like heroes are wanted criminals
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s all I could get! I can’t wait for MGADD Season 2!!

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur: Now That’s Moon Girl Magic!!!
 One
Tumblr media
In my opinion, Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is one of the best new Disney shows in the 2020s and I’ll calmly make an argument for anyone who thinks otherwise. It has popping color, even poppier music, excellent characters, and strong storytelling all wrapped up in this fun, groundbreaking Disney show. With Season 2 coming out, I thought it was time to share what I got to say about its revolutionary ways and how it may even set the bar for future Marvel projects and even MCU ideas.
The Characters
Tumblr media
Lunella Lafayette, played by former X-Factor contestant Diamond White, is one of the most bombastic but relatable super-genius black girls at the time I write this. I love how her intelligence isn’t just her sole personality trait as she’s confident, sassy, and optimistic. Lunella is still a young teen who worries about fitting in, cares about her family, and tries to be the best person she can be.
I liked that they don’t make her into a bullied nerd like Peter Parker, which would contradict the whole message about protecting her community. She’s still pretty social around her fellow students but doesn’t have that social finesse which makes her have a lot of friends.
She’s a flawed character: she’s over-competitive and obsessed to the point of disregarding her work and other people. She does overcome and learn from those issues in order to become a better person in the end.
Tumblr media
Devil Dinosaur is more than a pet sidekick meant to be cute or the comic-relief. He does get his time to shine from his insecurities of being too big to a fear of jellyfish. With basically growls and snarls made by Fred Tatasciore, Devil conveys a huge range of emotion from joy to sadness to anger.
Tumblr media
Casey Calderon is the best friend and manager of Lunella whose savvy with fashion and social media. She’s pretty much what you expect from the girl who’s into social media as exuberant and charismatic, but never shallow or vain. She genuinely wants to use her skills to help Lunella’s message spread. She’s the support to the superheroics of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur in making the heroes more human in the eyes of the LES.
Tumblr media
Many other characters have not only impacted the story but also the main cast itself with the Lafayette family and various members of the LES.
The Lafayettes have their times to shine in their own ways whether as shoulders for Lunella to get support from or voices of reason that plays into the lesson that she must face. Adria Lafayette acts as a strong moral compass for Lunella to follow like protecting the LES from gentrification. Both James Jr. and Pops aren’t as big as the Lafayette women, but they do get there times to shine throughout the show.
In the finales “O.M.G. Issue 1 and 2”, we get the reveal of Lunella’s grandmother Mimi, played by MCU alum Alfre Woodard, is the Original Moon Girl or O.M.G. who helped build the portal generator that Lunella rebuilt years later. It gives us a deep look into how the super-genius doesn’t fall far from the tree.
The Beyonder, voiced by the famous Laurence Fishburne, is a fun and interesting character that acts more of a reality warping nuisance to Lunella than an actual villain. Combined with Fishburne’s comedic delivery and stylish  animation, the Beyonder is a hilarious trickster learning about humanity the best way he knows: messing with superheroes.
The Villains do create a dynamic with Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur by creating various conflicts both externally, internally, even symbolically. The first villain of the show Aftershock was an electrical villain who literally stole power from the LES, putting businesses at risk of closing, which can be interpreted as someone taking away others’ autonomy from their homes. Another set of villains were the Muzzlers, basically high-powered tech giants wanting to gentrify the LES and take away anything unique from the people. They even “silenced” the people with their tech and rendered them voiceless, but the people prevailed together.
The show not only showcases obscure Marvel characters in new, refreshing ways, but also creates their own stellar ones that put together what it can showcase.
The Animation Style
Tumblr media
The most eye-popping way it stands out is the animation. The colors and style beautifully blends with the music. Every time a fight scene happens, the colors become much more vibrant with heart-pumping music from various artists. You can really tell that the animators put a lot of love and passion into making something both familiar but also standout with its fight scenes.
One of my favorite scenes is in Episode 3 “Run the Rink” with Moon Girl fighting Gravitas to a Childish Gambino song. A Childish Gambino Song! You know that you got a hit when you get a hit song from a famous rapper.
All the musical scenes play into the story in an entertaining way while fueling the animation on a higher level.
The Stories
Tumblr media
Almost every story plays into Lunella’s development throughout the first season from self-love and self-acceptance to fighting for one’s community. One of my favorite episodes is “Hair Today Gone Tomorrow” that perfectly addresses various issues about one’s hair. I think a lot of people, especially black women, can understand how we can get insecure about themselves. “O.M.G. Issue 1 and 2″ highlights how people of color, especially those in STEM fields, were essentially erased from the work they did and all credit was taken from them by the higher-ups. The main villain of the finales Maris Morlak is both a terrifying and relatable person whose motivations are sympathetic in how his work was taken from him and was erased.
What’s Next For Moon Girl?
Tumblr media
With Season 2 coming out of woodworks, I’m hoping to see more adventures, heart, and fly music that elevates Moon Girl to a different level and even set more bars in terms of storytelling and animation for both Marvel projects and even the MCU itself.

I love moon girl and devil dinosaur so much.
This show was literally made for me. Everything I love in a piece of media is found in it and the animation is top notch. Not to mention that the combination of Lunella’s and Casey’s personalities is literally me. I hope this show gets 10 seasons.

Ok wtf. She knows Moon Girl is a literal child. She knows she’s up against rich white people throwing around money and going
Tumblr media
At the entire neighbourhood. And she’s literally guilt tripping a child who is ALREADY TRYING TO PUT A STOP TO IT.
I DONT CARE HOW UPSET YOU ARE YOU DONT PIN THE BLAME ON A CHILD THATS FUCKED UP.
“I thought you were supposed to speak for us and defend us. I guess I expected too much of you” dude. She’s a kid. A super smart kid but a kid nonetheless and you think she has the same impact as Tony Stark or Reed Richards or Suri(?) or T’challa?
Adults always hold more authority even, and especially, when they’re in the wrong. Plus funny how you go after the young girl with the ceremonial role and not, say, the fucking mayor dude of the area greenlighting this shit.

MGADD spoilers for ep 14
This is one of the most underrated shows in existence, but this episode truly blows me away.
Basically Lu, Mimi, and Case go to Coney Island and Lu is struggling with her fear of the rides. Throughout the episode, The Beyonder is testing her fear and evaluating whether she is a good hero and such. He can't seem to get her to admit it, so he looks for her biggest fear.
He rewinds back in the episode and shows Lunella's memory of losing Mimi in Coney's circus-like attraction.
Lunella was much younger and crying, but she still feared the giant clown inside. It had malfunctioned and fallen on Lu, making her think it was attacking her, until she found Mimi and went back home.
The Beyonder takes advantage of this and puts Mimi in the circus attraction, threatening Lunella that if she doesn't find Mimi in 10 minutes, he will take Mimi to another dimension forever. Lunella has several anxiety attacks about it, when Devil and Casey inspire her to go in to save Mimi.
The Beyonder continues to test her fear, when Lunella arrives to the room with the clown. The clown rips from the ropes keeping it up and comes alive, chasing Lunella throughout this already terrifying experience. Lunella runs through the entire area looking for Mimi, when she defeats the clown. She reaches The Beyonder and saves Mimi, and goes on the rollercoaster she had been scared of from the start.
Let's start at the beginning of how beautiful the episode's plot is. Many people say it's a cliche just about the amusement park trope, but this simply isn't true.
While the episode does start with that, it's more so about the anxiety of losing someone you love. The Beyonder also represents high expectations of fear-tolerance.
When looking into Lunella's memory of Coney, it really shows an example of childhood trauma and anxiety.
My favorite thing about this episode, however, is the illustrated example of an anxiety attack. Lunella starts talking about how she believes it was all her fault.
Anyway, this episode is legendary.
Please watch it 😭

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Episode Guide Season 1
Since some people may getting into Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur soon i thought it would be a good idea to make a guide for the first season of the show.   Note: that i’m not fully sure if the series is intended to be plot driven or character driven, but i’ll go with it being character driven for the moment. This means the core of the show is the characters and their relationships. This could change a bit once Season 2 airs. Also, some episodes that don’t seem important for now could become important later on during season 2.That’s why i still recommend watching all the episodes of the season just in case.
Now that that’s cleared up, here is the guide:
Episode 1- Moon Girl Landing- Introduction to the premise of the show, its setting and characters. Impotant mystery involving a character that went missing in the past. Obligatory episode to get an idea of the show and how Lunella meets Devil and Casey. Don’t skip Episode 2- The Borough Bully- Lunella episode. It helps establishing the dynamics a bit and setting up the formula of the show. Not the most solid episode so i would suggest skipping it. Episode 3- Run the Rink- Lunella episode. This episode does a decent job at exploring the Lunella’s family dynamics and their business. A better option to start over ¨The Borough Bully¨. Episode 4- "Check Yourself"- Lunella episode. A good exploration of Lunella’s competitive side and a memorable secondary character. Episode 5- "Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow"- Lunella episode. A very interesting exploration of black culture and black hair. Highly recommend watching it since it is one of the most iconic episodes of this show so far. Episode.6-¨The Beyonder¨- Plot arc-Introduction to a recurrent antagonist and character, the Beyonder. Also, some good development between Lunella and Eduardo. Don’t skip this one Episode 7 ¨Goodnight, Moon Girl¨- Body swap episode and comic reference- Interesting development of Lunella’s character. I suggest to not skip it. Episode 8 -"Teacher's Pet"- First Devil Dinosaur centric episode. Introduction to a new villain, the Rat King. I recommend watching to have a better idea of Devil as character. Episode 9-"Skip This Ad...olescence"- Episode developing Lunella and her father’s relationship. Some important foreshadowing. Higly recommend watching it. Episode 10- "Moon Girl's Day Off"- Good development between Lunella and Casey. Some development for Mimi, Lunella’s grandmother, too. Important foreshadowing of plot points. Don’t skip it. Episode 11- ¨Like Mother, Like Moon Girl¨ Episode tackling gentrification. Development between Lunella and her mother. Highly suggest to not skip it. Episode 12- "Today, I Am a Woman"- Casey centric episode. Good development for Casey and her relationship with Lunella. Highly suggest to not skip it. Episode 13- ¨Devil on Her Shoulder¨- Devil Dinosaur centric episode. Nice development for Devil. Not essential but worth of watching Episode 14- ¨Coney Island, Baby!¨- Beyonder second mayor appearance. Development between Mimi and Lunella. Plot point and setting up for the Season finale. Don’t skip it. Episode 15-16- "OMG Issue #1"/ "OMG Issue #2": Important revelations about Original Moon Girl revealed. Plot, backstory general development. Don’t skip it since it the season finale.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur season 2!!!
Alright so episode 12 of mgadd was the school dance episode and I have some thoughts.
This applies mostly to this specific episode but some of it applies to the whole season so far. I understand and appreciate the overall message being conveyed by the episode. About how you should start dating when you're comfortable and how there's no rush.
However the message gets undermined by the simple fact the Marvin exists to be Lunellas love interest.
I don't dislike Marvin but him being exactly like Lunella is annoying. I don't like it and this happens a lot, when shows introduce a love interest who is exactly like the main character.
Tumblr media
Once again nothing against Marvin but it's just annoying. Especially since it is the second season. If you want a character to have a love interest introduce them in season 1.
I get it they're both socially awkward and Don't understand social ques but still they're the same person only difference being one is a boy and the other is a girl. Marvin being an alien with daddy issues was interesting until it gets resolved immediately. Other wise these two have no conflict and no obstacles to overcome they're boring.
Now onto my personal gripe about the episode in question.
They did my boy eduardo dirty.
Why???
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eduardo has been a reoccurring background character since the very first episode. Now I've never shipped him with Lu but it was established early on that he had a crush on her.
If ed was a bully type character then I wouldn't care about him. But that's not his archetype he's a misunderstood class clown.
This is episode 12 of season 2 and this is our first time even hearing him speak. Reminder Marvin was introduced in like episode 4 or something. In the episode Lunellas friends tell her she should go with them as a group to the dance, but when they all end up with dates Lu feels left out and also tries to find a date. And she asks out Eduardo who tells her he's already been asked.
Tumblr media
It has a very cute sequence where he images them as sailormoon and tuxedo mask.
Tumblr media
In the end Lunella goes alone which is fine. Her outfit is very cute. Then Marvin shows up and we get jealous Eduardo. I also want to say that Mar didn't show up to be her date to the dance he needed help. Anyway Ed is jealous and upset everytime we see him on screen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which I really hope isn't what his character is going to be boiled down to especially after they developed him so well in season 1. I don't want him and Lu to end up together I just want this character to have the respect that it had in season 1 instead of making him miserable.
Just look at who he's at the dance with that terrible blonde girl who insulted Lunellas hair in season 1.
Tumblr media
I just can't get behind Lunella and Marvin because it feels forced and rushed. It's annoying that they just made a carbon copy of Lu for a love interest. That's kind of lazy.
Otherwise the season has been fun so far.

I watched the first 7 episodes of this show and I have both good and bad thoughts that I would like to share.
NOTE: While I will be discussing other shows in this analysis, this is not a comparison. The show hasn't had enough development to be compared to shows like TOH, Amphibia or even Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
The Pros:
The Story overall has a really great setup. It was able to clearly establish the conflict(s) of the show, and the plot has a clear direction.
The show has enjoyable characters. I already love Hailey so much and I also love Scott. And Beta slays so hard.
The animation is pretty good and I absolutely love the character designs.
IT HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL. It has an overall great plot setup that could lead to a great overarching plot, and I'm pretty sure that is the intention.
The voice acting is really great especially from Hailey's VA who is slaying with her character.
The Cons:
I cannot express how much I HATE that part of the main conflict is that she has to kiss her best friend and that there’s a love triangle. This is mainly a preference thing because I don't like it when romance is deeply involved in shows, and it's literally a major plot point and I hate it. But again this is just a preference thing.
Other than Hailey and Kristene, none of the characters have really had any character development and their development has been very subtle and minimal. Granted, we're only 7 episodes in but I feel like there should be more. EDIT: I was just informed that we're actually only 6 episodes in to like a 30 episode season which means we're only 1/5th ways through the 1st season, so the lack of development makes complete sense.
I feel like there should be a little more development with the plot by now and lore should be revealed.
This has nothing to do with the show itself but every time I hear the phrase just a friend I think of miraculous and it gives me war flashbacks because every time I watch that show I'm in destress about how bad the writing is but the writing is pretty strong in Haileys on it so i think I'll be fine.
Overall, it's a pretty solid show. I didn’t get the same feeling off of this show as I did with Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, but I think it's because MGADD has more of the elements I like compared to this. But also I feel like I'm gonn be surprised by this show. I don't think it'll get as dark as Amphibia and TOH did, but that's fine because the vibe is so much different.
Rating: 7/10

Hello sorry to bother you with this all of sudden ,and this might be coming out of nowhere, and I’m not trying to force you or be pushy but I m trying to get more people into this show with great potential. If your not interested it’s fine but Have you heard of or watched moon girl and devil dinosaur? Season 2 comes out February 2.
The main character i love she gives me autistic vibes I’m autistic. The show has interesting characters, action ,great music, and animation ,good themes and representation, Anime references, it even has an eyecatch season 2 is going to be more story driven if you find that interesting.
It be good if you watch the first 2 season 2 episode when they air so the ratings will be higher. And watch the other season 2 episodes when they air.
I think Disney might be trying to sabotage the show with them probably dropping 14 episodes on Disney + on February 3. They did similar with season 1 and the ratings where low ,please watch season 2 episodes when they air on. But more importantly also watch it on Disney + on feb 3 and when they air it on YouTube. Unfortunately they are dropping 14 episodes on Disney + so watch them all in one day but also when they air the first time.
I’m not just saying only cable just also. I’m saying please support this show. Despite that it still won 5 Emmys. Also if it’s no trouble could if it alright with you spread the word about this show to others you know like either online or irl. Time is limited!
Tumblr media
YESSS! Dude, MGADD is like a comfort show for me, and I can’t wait to watch Season 2! And I can’t wait to see Casey again! And I love this show for it’s comic inspiration, and we gotta be thankful for that.

I’m not sure you’re aware but ,Moon girl season 2 airs February 2. Are you watching it when it airs on Disney channel if you have cable the ratings where low last season , cause Disney sucks at marketing their animated shows. But we also have to  watch it on Disney + on February 3 the most, and when they air it on YouTube. I’m not just saying only cable I’m saying please support this show. They are airing 2 episodes a week just like last season. Please watch the episode when they air too.
Unfortunately they are dropping 14 episodes on Disney + so watch them all in one day ,then but also when they air the first time. I’ve been told it will help Season 2 is going to be more story driven ,it’s at risk of getting canceled after 2 seasons,If the ratings arnt better. Especially on Disney + Disney is judging the show views on how many binge the show on February 3. Please don’t Disney screw this show over like the others.we need all the views we can get so help spread awareness of the series and what’s at stake here.
Tumblr media
Thanks for informing but I’ve been well aware of this since last week, I honestly think it’s so unfair and with a show this good, It deserves to complete its story properly!
I’m a huge fan of this show and to know that this is the treatment it’s getting, it’s so damaging and I need to say smth. I’ve had Disney + since about 2020-2021 ish and I must admit I still use cable while also having streaming, I was so used to waking up each weekend to watch new cartoons airing their latest episodes! But since I’ve got D+, it’s became so damn confusing and I don’t mind them releasing episodes by occasional drop for a show but releasing so many at once, it made me so confused on when said episodes are being released on cable tv.
This is the exact issue I had with MGADD Season 1 because I’ve watched the first few episodes on cable but because of life I haven’t watched a few then suddenly when I get my motivation to continue watching the first season, I find out they released like the first 10-12ish episodes of Season 1 on D+ and then shortly after I find out it was dropped all at once, so I watched all those episodes but I lost motivation to watch the show again for a short while becuase it isn’t the same expirence as watching it on cable. I’m honestly still a fan and I do watch this show from time to time and to get the announcements that this show was getting a second season excited me!
But to now know that they are releasing the FIRST 14 EPISODES ON D+ AT ONCE baffles me because it’s basically ruining the chances for this show to succeed in the long run! It’s similar to the situation of TGAMM! The way Disney now does their marketing is absolutely bullshit. All this poor planing does it ruining the show’s chances to continue.

Where in the universe is Lunella?
With season one of MGADD officially over, I can finally share my theories on where Lunella could’ve ended up.
Note: I am not very knowledgeable on the comics, so some stuff I said about them could be wrong.
1. Devil’s home dimension
Tumblr media
I think it would be a neat parallel to the series premiere to have Lunella land in Devil’s original world. She could probably end up meeting meeting Moon Boy if he’s from there.
2. Devil Girl and Moon Dinosaur universe
Tumblr media
Considering that this was seen as something likely to happen in “Skip This Ad...olescence,” Lunella could be there and get help from Devil Girl to return home. Though, I think Devil Girl was evil from the comics, so probably not. She might have to steal resources from her instead if her underground lab is still in the same place.
3. Comicverse
Tumblr media
Lunella encountering the 9-year-old comic counterpart of herself would be interesting. Would they get along? Would they butt heads? How would she handle knowing that comic!Lunella was an Inhuman with the ability to switch minds with Devil Dinosaur at will?
4. Dystopian Future
Tumblr media
Since this was also seen in “Skip This Ad...olescence,” Lunella could end up getting help from her older alternate self to get back home and probably work with her in preventing any more horrible events going on there/give them a fighting chance in saving their future.
