I don't know if y'all noticed, but Colin Bridgerton is a match-making mamma!
In season 2 he pushed Anthony and Kate together, when he knocked Kate's ball next to Anthony's. And he did it with a SMIRK.
In Benedict's story he told Benedict to get his shit together and marry Sophie right away, no matter her status.
In Francesca's story he told Michael basically the same thing.
In Gregory's story he literally sat in a tree by Greg's side, spying on his brother's match.
The mammas should give him an honorary doctorate at this point.
Too bad bitch is so blind to his own match, lol.

Thinking about the weird camaraderie that exists between demons but not angels in GO.
Have we ever seen two angels who are actually friends? Or even friendly to one another? We have met angels with a capacity to be friendly in general, but I think the closest we've come to two angels actually getting along would be Gabriel making a point to laugh at Sandalphon's terrible "can't have a war without War" line in S1.
Most scenes between the angels actually seem to have an undercurrent of absolute hostility. Teeth-clenched teamwork. No wonder it took them so long to notice that Aziraphale wasn't on the same page as the rest of them! The rest of them are barely on the same page as one another, either! When Gabriel goes against the majority vote, no one bats an eye at demoting him and wiping his memory. Michael and Uriel immediately begin vying for his job. The only times we've seen angels team up is when they're working together to bully someone else, like when they're trying to intimidate Aziraphale in S1 or going to the aftermath of the bookshop raid in S2.
Saraqael's overall neutrality towards Muriel is the closest we get to two angels in Heaven getting along, and it's more a lack of hostility than any kind of friendliness. At least until Gabriel loses his memories and Muriel shows up to spy on Aziraphale, and Aziraphale decides to be kind to both of them.
Demons, on the other hand, actually seem to form alliances and even friendships among one another. Hastur and Ligur are awful, but Hastur seems genuinely distraught over Ligur's death, not just fearful of suffering the same fate. Shax and Furfur conspire together and even though the 1940's investigation into Crowley's fraternizing doesn't work out for Furfur, it's not due to any double-crossing on Shax's part. Unlike the angels, who stick almost exclusively to making threats until the Metatron decides to try dangling a carrot at the end of the season, demons actually offer rewards to other demons when trying to work together. Beelzebub offers Crowley a promotion if he can bring them Gabriel, Furfur offers to back Shax up politically if she goes for the Duke position opening, and Crowley successfully stalls Hastur in S1 by pretending everything was a test and he's going to be put in charge of a legion as a reward for passing. They're still not great at socializing, but they're significantly ahead of the angels.
Of course, it's a fact that demons are awful to one another (Eric's treatment is really bad, they throw that random demon into holy water just to test it, "it'd be a funny world if demons went around trusting one another", etc) but they still seem more capable of forming friendships than the angels do.
I think that's because Hell cramps and crowds everyone together to try and increase their suffering and hostility, whereas Heaven isolates angels to decrease the odds of questioning or rebellion. Hell's methods are unpleasant, but it still ends up putting demons together, and some of those demons inevitably forge alliances and make friendships. Because as Crowley and Beelzebub demonstrate, demons are still social creatures with the capacity for love and affection, even if it's strongly discouraged and buried under nine million layers of trauma and a cultural mandate against kindness.
Angels are the same, but isolation makes is harder to form connections than overcrowding. Muriel and Jimbriel are both so eager to make friends, but Muriel's spent the past millennia shut in an empty office, and Gabriel has been distanced from his peers both through his position and also through Heaven's culture of fear and surveillance. He only breaks away from it when he finds something that's stronger than "choosing sides" (stronger than the fear of being rejected by Heaven and Falling, in fact strong enough that Falling seems worth it if he gets to be with someone he loves). Both Muriel and Gabriel are only able to start forming connections when they're away from Heaven.
I just think it's interesting that demons, despite being supposedly devoid of love, have an advantage in forming relationships compared to angels. Angels are supposed to love, but have far fewer opportunities to actually do so. Demons aren't supposed to love, but they make connections anyway.

One thing about a gender swapped Sophie that I don't think a lot of people are talking about is how it changes their background and plot line.
A male Ward, who is the Lord's bastard, is a much bigger threat to Araminta. It is not only proof that her husband can father a child but a boy. Would she honestly keep a male bastard around just to make him suffer? Would her husband have claimed him and asked that he be made heir in his will?
Then we have the issue of what is their job? Because male!Sophie can't be a housemaid Lady's Maid or Governess. So no easy way to stash them with the family while trying to woo them. At least with the female members. I can't see Anthony hiring anyone to an important Steward or Clerk job just cause Benedict asks. Maybe tutor for Gregory?
Even Sophie's public sexual harassment at a party is severely different if she was a man. They can just get rid of it altogether, but it is how they're reintroduced.
And finally, the issue of being a Mistress and having a Bastard. The main reason for Sophie not to give in to Benedict. Maybe her male counterpart would have similar issues with being unwed partners, but that has different issues between two men in this era. (Don't know how to phrase that last bit better)
There are too many changes to the character's background and history.
So I say keep female Sophie and maybe give her and Benedict a boyfriend in the future. Otherwise, it's a brand new character, not a gender bent version.

I'm a sucker for the idea that after Chuck is defeated and once Michael and Adam are reunited Michael just leans heavily into the protective trope, bordering on possessive.
Of course they have their initial rush of emotions when they first reunite but slowly about a week after everything is resolved Adam starts noticing that Michael insists that they don't leave the house which, yeah that's strange, but Michael never been one for interacting with any other human aside from Adam, so he shrugs it off.
But he also notices that Michael's been getting touchier lately, Michael's never really been big on physical touch and yet Adam finds that whenever he's making something in the kitchen Michael's always right there hugging him from behind. Or when they're watching something late at night on the couch, they no longer sit just next to each other like they usually would, now their cuddling in every cuddling position that was ever made. When Adam goes to bed, Michael joins him instead of his usual 'doing other things until Adam wakes up' thing. Now he crawls into bed with Adam and holds him tightly, as if he was afraid that if he let go then Adam would fall out of his grasp forever.
Adam hasn't felt this kind of warmth since he was a kid and would crawl into bed with his mother when he had a nightmare, so he accepts it and rolls over to hold onto Michael as well. Michael shifts and pulls Adam's legs up by the thigh and around his waist, willing to be even closer to his Adam. He wraps his arms all around the humans torso and tucks his face into Adams neck breathing in his pulse, knowing that he's alive and protected by Michael. As Adam falls into unconsciousness Michael opens his eyes to watch the man breath deep and slow breaths into the silence of the night. Adam looks so peaceful, so innocent and...so breakable. His mind wanders into thinking about loosing Adam again, having him be taken away somewhere Michael can't reach, having the skin of his flesh be tortured and filled with suffering pain when he shouldn't ever have to suffer, having him be killed
Without realizing, Michael tightens his grip around Adam.
Silently, Michael promises to never allow anyone, no matter how powerful, to take his Adam away ever again. He brushes the hairs that fall onto Adam's face back and places his lips on his forehead in a gentle kiss. How Michel wishes to keep him here like this, to bask in their shared love together until everything ends.
But alas, Adam does eventually have to wake up. That little job of his makes him so happy, and that's all Michael now wants, Adam's happiness.

If we start talking about Donna being a shitty parent, the first thing we should admit is that she actually took good care of her children's health and education. They're very well educated and still have all their limbs and eyes. Carmen could draw as much as he wanted and we know for sure that all drawing supplies are expensive.
But she failed miserably every time it came to their emotional needs. When they needed support or someone to calm them down and help them understand their emotions. Who could make them understand that it wasn't their job to make sure their parent was okay. Who could give them unconditional love and someone who could be attentive to their needs. Someone who could tell them that there was nothing wrong with them, or their desires, or their feelings. Someone who wouldn't treat them as if they were a burden. Someone who understood that children were also allowed to be angry or sad. Someone who wouldn't use their kids to satisfy their emotional needs. But it was really a lot to ask of Donna. She can bring Natalie the ice chips, but doesn't listen to her when Nat asks her to stop doing what Donna's doing and tries to make her mother understand that her actions make her feel deeply emotionally uncomfortable. She just doesn't hear Nat. Every emotion that her children have ever felt were always about Donna, and not about them. She's incapable of putting her kids first. She has that instantly recognisable talent of any immature parent for making everything about her. And the saddest (or the happiest?) part of it all is that she actually genuinely loves them.

This has been knocking my noggin since Selkie YN came to be, but if Eclipse is hiding their seal skin, and he still needs to hunt that leaves out skinless selkie alone in human form. What would happen if Micheal and Vanessa found them? I feel like it would be really confusing considering it’s just this random human with barley anything on in the middle of the Arctic like “how have you not frozen to death”and maybe they take them back to base?
Michael and Vanessa would be stunned to find a human in practically nothing out in the Arctic. They'd act quickly to get Y/N back to shelter and warmth, and Y/N is very confused and skittish but ultimately goes with them. They get Y/N dressed and 'warmed up' while asking many questions that Y/N outright doesn't answer, preferring silence and simply responding with head nods or shakes.
Michael has his suspicions. Vanessa is just glad they found Y/N before they froze to death.
Unfortunately for the helpful humans, when Eclipse returns, seal skin in hand and his selkie nowhere to be found, he's panicked, then furious. He spies the footprints across the snow, leading inland.
Now he's on the hunt for blood and his selkie.

The audacity!!!!!
Book spoilers. Show spoilers, spoilers all around!

My expectations were low but holy hell! This Showrunner is awful, the skipping didn't do Polin any favor, they needed TIME to develop the friendship into more and not in like a scene snap, the friends to lovers of the book is well written and believable, this was... NOT. And why does it feel like they weren't the actual leads? Why make it about two leads per season when you write a million subplots?
She is like one of those fans that saw Benedict befriending a gay guy and said oh yes totally bi when CVD said explicitly that the storyline was to show how much he is tolerant about different kinds of love foreshadowing his future HEA. I have NO problem with anyone being queer as long as they don't change their book HEA, (this will be textbook queerbaiting to please a loud annoying internet minority) especially the ones who follow specific struggles, like infertility, not wanting their children to be bastards, the role and dangers of a woman in the working class, etc this leads me to the heartbreaking erasure of the best male written character on the whole Bridgerton series, you are not gender bending, you are erasing a whole book creating a fanfiction of what was the best and more complex Bridgerton book, Francesca married for love, she was completely in love with John and didn't develop feelings for MICHAEL until much later, she erase that, she'll erase the infertility struggle, of course she'll have John's baby, of course, of course it will be a boy who'll inherit the earldom.
And lastly I have no doubt that Jess Brownell will want to butcher TSPWL too... Maybe recast Phillip, maybe erasing him, who knows, but I know Eloise will also suffer from her awful writing.

Today we really get called homophobic /queerphobic for nothing these days.
Because I don't 100% appreciate (without completely hating it, I remind you, I still can't wait to see what Franchaela will give us) the gender change from Michael to Michaela in Bridgerton.
Because I hope we don't change Benedict's romance with Sophie with a man instead, by also changing Sophie's gender for example (although fortunately that shouldn't happen at all).
Because I don't like Rhaenicent (even though this queerbaiting ship doesn't even have a place in the dance of the dragons storyline).
Because I don't like Rhaesaria and I'm firmly against it (it comes out of nowhere and won't go anywhere and what's more it goes against both the character of Rhaenyra who would never cheat on Daemon and that of Mysaria who would never be sincere with Rhaenyra).
Because I don't like the identity and gender problems that the writers attributed to Rhaenyra who in HOTD wants to be a man (seriously, wtf ?), not to mention suddenly inventing her a bisexuality that she actually doesn't have in the original Fire and Blood canon.
The fact of making Jaskier in The Witcher also like men for a plot that serves no purpose ? It doesn't seem to me from what I remember that he also likes men in the books, however I remember that Ciri was on the other hand bisexual ?
So once again, why make a character who isn't queer in the books a character who is queer in the adaptation when you just have to adapt the ones who are queer ?!
Regardless, it kills me to be called homophobic / queerphobic because I disagree with some seriously questionable writing decisions.
Or worse, telling me that I'm homophobic /queerphobic for loving fictional problematic queer relationships... That's still a strong shitty argument.
