February — what a month! We said goodbye to our apartment on Valleyheart (and LA altogether) and moved to SLO. A big, exciting, scary, fun, sad, happy leap. I keep reminding myself of the quote I saw somewhere forever ago, “If you want your life to change, you have to change your life.” It feels hard sometimes, but it’s what we actually want.

We had a good and busy month, seeing our friends a ton and packing and working and planning and, finally, moving. We started Feb. off with the final taping of Whose Line, which was a real treat and then kind of torture at the end. We hosted a big brunch for all our friends, which was so lovely. A perfect memory of our little place filled with all the people we love.

We went to a comedy show for Brett’s birthday and celebrated Bob’s birthday with the Super Bowl and just so much food (plus a funny tennis game). We went to a random brewery and ate too much salty BBQ, celebrated Valentine’s Day with a pancake dinner at home, and had classically too strong margaritas at Los Toros.

On our last night in LA, we braved insane weather to eat pizza and burrata, aka the “best deal in LA,” at Midici, followed by drinks with funny names at a goofy bar. The next day, Andrew and I SMASHED everything left into the car and drove to our new home in rain and traffic, past snow-dusted (!!) mountains to the right and the ocean to the left.

It still feels odd that this is “home” now. But we’ve been unpacking and organizing and setting things up and it’s feeling cozier every day. We can hear frogs singing every night, and we wake up to sunshine streaming in through the front window every morning. I miss my friends, and I’m glad we’ll see them soon, but I’m happy and peaceful here.

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve had pizza...but can you really resist pizza? While the red marinara pizza is the only explicitly vegan option at the @midici restaurant near me, it’s absolutely fantastic. 😍🍕❤️ There was also a house salad of mixed greens and cherry tomatoes in a balsamic vinaigrette (sans cheese), because health, you know? 🥗 Also, I’ve been taking the most days off of the gym in the longest time. So far it’s been two days without working out and I haven’t noticed a huge difference in energy levels and physical composition.
