Bio je drugi generalni sekretar Islamskog džihada Palestine. Na čelu tog pokreta otpora je naslijedio šehida Fethija Šeghaghija i dužnost generalnog sekretara obnašao dvadeset i tri godine.

Ramadan Abdullah je rođen 1958. godine u vjeri i otporu agresoru posvećenoj porodici u mjestu al-Šudžaija, u Pojasu Gazze. Šehida Fethija Šeghaghija koji ga je upoznao sa svojom inicijativom usmjerenom ka osnivanju organizacije posvećene poštivanju osnovnih principa zalaganja na Božijem putu, džihada, upoznao je u Egiptu. Ta organizacija će kasnije ponijeti ime “Islamske prethodnice”, a Ramadan Abdullah je među prvima prigrlio Šeghaghijevu ideju zalaganja za oslobođenje Palestine, brojne palestinske studente u Egiptu motivišući da učine isto. Upravo ta grupa palestinskih studenata će biti glavnom okosnicom i sržnim jezgrom docnijeg formiranja pokreta otpora Islamski džihad Palestine. U opsežnom novinskom izveštaju Kluba mladih novinara o Šalahovom životu navodi se da je Ramadan Abdullah nakon formiranja Islamskog džihada Palestine odlučio vratiti se u Gazzu i prihvatiti položaj profesora ekonomije na Islamskom univerzitetu u tom gradu. Njegovi iskrenošću motivirani govori u tom periodu pronalazili su put do čistih srca palestinske omladine što je unijelo nemir među čelnike okupatorskog cionističkog režima. Cionisti su nedugo potom Ramadana Abdullaha postavili na metu svoga gnjeva, zabranili mu rad na univerzitetu i stavili ga u prinudnu izolaciju, odnosno kućni pritvor.

Ramadan Abdullah Šalah 1986. godine koristi priliku da napusti Pojas Gazze te odlazi u London, gdje upisuje postdiplomske studije i četiri godine kasnije, na Univerzitetu Durham, doktorira ekonomske nauke. Iako je u potpunosti bio posvećen studiju i vlastitom naučnom usavršavanju, nije zanemarivao svoje vjerske aktivnosti kao ni djelovanje usmjereno ka širenju i jačanju ideje pružanja otpora okupatorima palestinske zemlje. Iz Londona je otputovao u Kuvajt i tamo je zasnovao porodicu. Iz Kuvajta se s porodicom vraća u London da bi se potom preselio u Ameriku. Onamo je, na Univerzitetu Južna Florida, od 1993. do 1995. radio kao profesor na Katedri za bliskoistočne studije.

Vođen namjerom da se vrati u rodnu Palestinu, Ramadan Abdullah Šalah 1995. napušta Ameriku i seli se u Siriju, gdje provodi određeni period iščekujući formiranje uvjeta za njegov konačni povratak na rodnu grudu. U tom periodu se susreće sa šehidom Fehtijem Šeghaghijem i s njim zajedno šest mjeseci radi na izradi opsežnih planova vezanih za širenje džihadskih aktivnosti u Palestini. Tada je uslijedio atentat koji su na doktora Šeghaghija izveli agenti špijunske službe cionističkog režima (MOSAD). Nakon šehadeta doktora Fethija Šeghaghija generalna skupština pokreta Islamski džihad Palestine je na dužnost generalnog sekretara jednoglasno izabrala Ramadana Abdullaha Šalaha. On je na tom položaju ostao od 1995. godine pa sve do 2018. godine. Dakle, pokret Islamski džihad Palestine je uspješno predvodio dvadeset i tri godine.

Najsnažniji borac protiv nepravde cionističkog režima

Cionisti su ga tokom Druge intifade Palestinskog naroda targetirali kao jednog od glavnih pokretača i inicijatora džihadskih operacije i predstavili kao jednog od najvažnijih neprijatelja cionističkog režima, te su ga zbog njegove političke ličnosti i uticaja koji je uživao među palestinskim narodom proglasili militantom i stavili na listu najtraženijih osoba. Amerika je, slijedeći politiku cionističkog režima, 2003. godine Šalaha stavila na svoju crnu listu.

Pokret Islamski džihad Palestine je pod vodstvom Ramadana Abdullaha Šalaha prerastao u jednu od najbitnijih snaga palestinskog otpora uopšte. Islamski džihad Palestine je svoju snagu demonstrirao tokom sveobuhvatnog cionističkog vojnog napada na pojas Gazze tokom 2014. godine. Islamski džihad Palestine je uspio uspješno se oduprijeti brutalnim cionističkim napadima i konačno uzvratiti istom mjerom.

Stup borbe Palestinaca

Tijelo rahmetli Ramadana Abdullaha Šalaha je pokopano pored mezara šehida Fethija Šeghaghija u palestinskom izbjegličkom kampu Jarmuk, u Siriji. Aktualni generalni sekretar pokreta Islamski džihad Palestine, Zijad al-Nakhalah, na dženazi i ukopu svoga prethodnika, rahmetli Šalaha, u Jermuku je rekao: “Obavezujem se i zavjetujem da ću nastaviti s otporom do konačnog oslobođenja Palestine i časnoga Qudsa!”

Razne palestinske grupe su po primitku tužne vijesti o preseljenju bivšeg generalnog sekretara pokreta otpora Islamski džihad Palestine, Ramadana Abdullaha Šalaha, na bolji svijet, objavile zasebna saopštenja u kojim Šalahovo preseljenje ocjenjuju kao veliku tragediju koja je zadesila palestinski narod i ogroman gubitak jednog od lidera pokreta palestinskog otpora, a palestinskom narodu su se zavjetovali da će njegov put nastaviti sve do konačnog oslobođenja Palestine iz okupatorskih kandži.

U saopštenju pokreta otpora Islamski džihad Palestine, između ostalog, istaknuto je slijedeće: “Ramadan Abdullah Šalah niti jednoga trenutka nije sumnjao u odbranu Palestine. On je bio odvažni junak, čovjek otpora koji je cijeli svoj život posvetio džihadu i podršci Palestini i časnom Qudsu, veliki čovjek i istaknuti lider koji je na najdostojniji način čuvao povjerenu mu odgovornost i zastavu otpora svim svojim bićem čuvao visoko iznad naših glava.”

Muhammed Dahlan, jedan od lidera palestinskog pokreta otpora Fath, o Šalahu je rekao: “Ramadan Šalah je jedan od stubova palestinske borbe u savremeno doba, a Palestina je bila sržnica njegovog života za koju je njegovo srce kucalo svom snagom i za koju se borio cijeli svoj život.”

Čelnik Političkog ureda pokreta otpora Hamas, Ismail Haniya, o bivšem generalnom sekretatu Islamskog džihada Palestine je kazao: “Najistaknutija karakteristika njegove ličnosti oličena je u njegovoj predanosti i istrajnosti na putu džihada i otpora. Uprkos svim požrtvovanjima, mučenjima, atentatima i drugim oblicima terora kojim su bili izloženi i zvaničnici Islamskog džihada Palestine i drugih palestinskih pokreta otpora, on je i dalje ostajao stamen, odvažan i ustrajan na svome putu te je kao takav uspio se uspeti na najviše vrhove palestinskog otpora. Naspram okupatora je ostao dostojanstven, hrabar i odvažan, a palestinski narod je bodrio i poticao na pružanje otpora okupatoru s ciljem obistinjenja ideala Palestine i očuvanja palestinske misli. Druga istaknuta karakteristika njegove ličnosti ogleda se u njegovom objediniteljstvu, jer je težio ujedinjenju svih pokreta na putu pružanja otpora okupatorskom režimu.”

Saopštenje s izrazima sućuti povodom preseljenja bivšeg generalnog sekretara pokreta Islamski džihad Palestine izdao je i predsjednik Palestinske autonomne oblasti, Mahmud Abbas. U tom saopštenju se ističe: “Gubitkom Šalaha mi smo izgubili jednog velikog nacionalnog heroja.”

Izraze sućuti i suosjećanja povodom preseljenja bivšeg generalnog sekretara pokreta Islamski džihad Palestine objavili su i lider Islamske revolucije, predsjednik, ministar vanjskih poslova i brojni drugi zvaničnici Islamske Republike Iran.
