Requiem Scully leaves the conference room where Mulder, TLG, Skinner, Krycek, Marita, and Diana all game plan about Oregon. Mulder insists on joining her, reiterating his loyalty; and is there to catch her when she faints.

 Requiem Mulder only wants Scully; and Scully finally admits to wanting him to stay. both are happy to be together for the news.

Requiem Scully passes out at the Bureau; and Mulder, TLG, Skinner, and Marita all jump into action to take care of her until the ambulance arrives. (I adore this fic, too.) Mulder's intent doesn't end there, dropping a bombshell of his own.

Resignation

Requiem Mulder resigns on the plane (to Skinner's own resigned frustration), returning to Scully's side and happily soaking in her announcement.

AU-- Requiem Scully is abducted instead of Mulder. He carries on through the events of S8, trying his best to find her and finally accepting the help of Doggett and Reyes as well as Skinner and TLG.

Requiem Scully tells Mulder in the FBI hallway. He wants to stay, but she insists he go.

Requiem Mulder is called by Byers in the airport; and Skinner has to steady him as he sways from the potentially bad news.

""He is breathing heavily himself, probably more from panic than from the four-block run, and slaps his palm against the wall as though that will make the elevator rise faster. He is too manic, even for him, and I remember all the caffeine he's ingested in the last several hours. I wonder if I should take his weapon away from him.""

 Requiem Mulder creates havoc and mayhem after panicking in the airport; and Skinner corrals him (and later TLG) into orderly behavior all the way to the hospital.

The lifeless tones are such a contrast to my spirits that I can't help but laugh to myself, and with the laughter comes a fresh round of tears. It seems I just can't stop them from streaming down my face, and right now, I don't care. With my head bowed, my hands buried in my hair, and my elbows propped on my knees, no one can really see my face anyway. I need what privacy I can muster, here in this public hallway, to come to terms with this all.

Requiem Mulder bolts after he and Scully are told she's pregnant. Maggie finds him in the hospital hallway, relieved he is just overwhelmed with happy, anticipatory nerves.

Requiem Mulder is replaced at the airport by Doggett, getting back to Scully as fast as he can. He, however, does not react positively to the pregnancy news, afraid it might be caused by CSM tampering.

AU-- Scully wakes in her car, amnesic and unknowingly pregnant. Mulder at first doesn't believe it's her; and it's not until Maggie verifies and Diana Fowley leaves evidence for the duo to find that he can fully accept that his partner, who was "dead" for a year, is back.

AU-- Scully has been a spy since the Pilot; and she finally confesses it to Mulder after she gets pregnant with their child. Mulder MIA, Mulder returning for a case then ghosting, Mulder arriving in time for the birth of their son, and Mulder crawling back to a form of trust in Scully unfolds painfully slowly.

Chapter 7: Interlude

It was supposed to be against the bureau policy. Or maybe, in this case, it was one of Scully’s own rules. At that moment, he didn’t really care. He reckoned that she created these rules just to break them. And that was just fine by him.

First Line Challenge

thanks for the tags, @baronessblixen and @i-gaze-at-scully!!

RULES: List the first lines of the last ten stories you published. Look to see if there are any patterns that you notice yourself, and see if anyone else notices any! Then tag some friends.

1.  They’re walking through Arcadia Falls together, practically arm in arm like a couple of perfectly happy newlyweds. Scully wants to laugh at the irony of it, when they couldn’t be further away from the picture they’re creating. (x)

2.  They’re living together. Mulder’s stuff has gradually migrated over to her apartment, her closets and shelves and dressers; his fish tank sits in her living room. There’s a clutter of unpacked cardboard boxes in the hall, but the baby’s room is painted, crib set up, star mobile hanging from the ceiling. (x)

3.  They’re both nervous as hell. Scully in no way regrets asking him to go along, but it’s undeniably an awkward situation, showing up at the airport with her partner in tow, to the complete surprise of her mother. (x)

4.  Mulder almost forgets his own birthday. (x)

5.  Mulder gives Scully a small green vial in the middle of the night outside of Emily’s hospital room, and he goes back to a hotel and sleeps like the dead. (x)

6.  Mulder comes for her. It shouldn’t surprise her so much, but it does, the wonderful relief that washes over her when she hears him shouting for Pfaster to put his hands in the air. (x)

7.  It seems fitting that the whole thing happens after Scully saves his life again. Somehow he always figured it’d happen that way. (x)

8.  She holds him on the floor of the bank with all the trembling movements she’s imagined in this moment, in the moments when she’d pictured Mulder dying and hated herself for it. (x)

9.  Normally, Scully would make a doctor’s appointment for something like this. She doesn’t trust store tests, a superstition that goes back to the IVF procedure, her fear of a false positive, false hope. (x)

10.  They took Scully away and brought her back shortly after, and put her, briefly, in Mulder’s cell before separating them again. They take Mulder away and They don’t bring him back. She should see it coming, but she doesn’t. (x)

Now that you’re viewing the blog for our Ghouli collab, I’m sure you may already have some questions. The truth is out there… (under the cut)

The SCP Foundation is a fictional collaboration archive; the full description of the archive’s entries on the website is as follows: “In-universe, the SCP Foundation is a secret organization entrusted by governments around the globe to contain and study anomalous individuals, entities, locations, objects, and phenomena that defy natural law (referred to as SCPs).”

The Ghouli submissions will not follow the structures of the SCP entries. Instead, the Foundation will be used as a major plot device. The responsibilities of the Foundation, as described above, is to contain and study many different kinds of anomalies. Subject Ghouli, SCP-446854, is one of these anomalies, and has– so far– evaded capture and containment. 

The plan is for us to make multiple submissions, ranging from such content as transcripted interviews, various audio recordings and emergency call logs. Some will be structured as emails, text messages, or journal entries; others can be official Foundation reports, or other accounts such as missing persons reports, police reports, autopsy reports, and so on and so forth.

Additionally, I would like for some of us to add comments to these submissions, posing as different “characters”. I will give examples of such replies once the first idea for a submission is agreed upon.

There will be more information to follow in the coming days. I hope that the plan I have set out for the Ghouli submissions are interesting enough for those who agreed to join me on this journey; that said, I will understand if the idea is not to your liking and you choose not to participate.

In conclusion, I know that the submission proposal might be a bit confusing– please do not hesitate to ask any questions you might have, and additionally, feel free to offer any changes or ideas in the comments as well. I will assure you that, though the SCP Foundation will have a major role in our submissions, Ghouli and bits of the X Files universe will be the main subjects of each piece of fiction and posted to the Ghouli website only.
