Earlier this year the insanely talented Mike Krome was offering a commission opportunity through the fine folks of Clan McDonald Comics. Having gotten a piece from Mr. Krome three years ago at Baltimore Comic Con I knew how great his commissions were. But I wanted to get something extra special, something I don't normally get for commission, and when I went through my blank covers I found it. Heavy Metal! So I only had to decide who I should get. The choices were obvious; Druuna or Taarna In the end I chose Taarna. Druuna is all kinds of sexy, but Taarna is just so incredibly awesome. And looking at this cover. I think I chose wisely. Mike, thank you once again for the stellar commission. This is it, it's #aussies4comics. We are a collective of comic book artists and illustrators from all over Australia. Our mission is to raise funds for Australian comic shops that are doing it tough due to the impact of COVID-19. This support will be through a series of daily art auctions that will take place over the next few weeks, and once finalised, we will be splitting the profits evenly between selected brick and mortar comic shops across Australia. This will be a one-off no strings attached lump sum payment. Comic shops are an important part of our community. We’ve watched our peers and fellow creators, led by Jim Lee, pour out support for their shops across the United States. Our cousins in Canada have been doing the same for their shops, too. There was no way we could just sit back and not support our local Aussie shops!
