Just read Hyacinth and Gareth's story for the first time and loved it! Such a playful story, with a cute romance and many fun Bridgerton sibling moments.
But looking back on my highlighted notes, it turns out my favourite part was Lady Danbury! Hyacinth's relationship with her was hilarious so I'm not surprised.
Hyacinth opened her mouth, but thankfully, Lady Danbury didn’t seem to desire an answer. “He’s a rogue, it’s true,” the countess sailed on, “but it’s nothing you can’t overcome if you put your mind to it.”
“I’m not going to—”
“Just yank your dress down a little when next you see him,” Lady D cut in, waving her hand impatiently in front of her face. “Men lose all sense at the sight of a healthy bosom. You’ll have him—”
“Lady Danbury!” Hyacinth crossed her arms.
- Julia Quinn, from "It's in His Kiss"
i recognize that simon and edwin meeting and parting in hell is narratively very good and provides closure for all. but imagine if simon had agreed to try and escape with edwin. and charles doesn't have time to really question it, because anybody who likes edwin is aces in his book and it's hell, they need to leave. (edwin, out of courtesy to their third companion, puts his plan to confess on hold until they've escaped.)
suddenly the edwin harem of "supernatural boys who all hate each other but are attracted to that negative rizz" gains another member, and at some point edwin is going to have to mention that simon was the boy who sacrificed him to hell.
the chaos. crystal's bitchy commentary. charles going from friendly smiling to clutching his cricket bat. niko's whispering "200k slow burn schoolboy rivals to lovers" with heart eyes. it'd be chef's kiss good. edwin fleeing to his books and praying that nobody, but especially not the cat king, finds him because there has been SO MUCH emotion already. hysterical.
I think the thing that really gets me about the Poseidon and Sally scene in episode 7 is the fact that there is zero resentment between the two of them. Poseidon comes running when Sally calls, acknowledges continuously that Sally is a good mother and validates her feelings. And Sally smiles when she asks Poseidon if he wants to talk to Percy, wants to hear his voice just once. There is no resentment there, no matter the dangerous and dramatic circumstances between them. Just the remembrance of a deep love that can no longer be, and the union of a common goal in keeping the product of that love safe from harm.
Yes, yes, claws. Big bad werewolf, so very scary, yadda yadda. Whatever. Not important.
You know what is important? Derek Hale's fucking booty pop.
Holy Jesus, the bounce on that ass is like the distance to the moon and back!
God damn. I wonder if he has chonic back pain carrying that thing around. I mean, I know I fucking would if I had to lug around two Jupiters made of Jello every day.
Now, notice how he doesn't shake his hips or twerk his pelvis in any way? Like, his back and legs show his perfectly still skeleton?
This means that that is all just supple butt flesh involuntarily rippling under his sudden movement like setting down a plate of flan.
