Sasuke Uchiha : It’s not only been a week since you left for your secret mission. It was so secret that only you and Tsunade knew when you’d probably come back. Sasuke didn’t like this passion. He was careful not to tell you, but he went to see Tsunade and insisted at considerable length. Justifying himself by saying that he was your fiancé and that he had the right to be kept informed. She didn't accede to his request and he left in a rage. Though as he was blowing off some steam at the training grounds, trying to release all the tension he felt knowing you were out of his protective zone, he felt your chakra. He raised his head, looking around and suddenly he saw you. A huge weight lifted from his heart and he made his way towards you. You turned around sensing him as well. When you locked eyes you couldn’t help but run to hug him. At first he didn’t move nor said anything though after a moment to compose himself he stroked gently your hair saying “I’m glad you’re back”

Naruto Uzumaki : He doesn’t hold back when he sees you again. It could be after a month, a week or a day he can’t help but spread his feelings out in the open “Y/n ?!? Dattebayo ! Is that you ?!?” he screamed from the other side of the street, rushing towards you. His body collided with you as he effortlessly lifted you from the floor, and started twirling again and again. His eyes shined bright as he was looking at you. Giggles and genuine laughs escaping his lips as he hugged you tighter. He was so happy to be with you again - he forgot literally about how much he craved a huge bowl of ramen. Yamato : He didn’t really like it when you were called without him on a mission. Though he knew damn well that you were a fierce and resilient kunoichi. So instead of being stressed all day he decided to prepare your return. So that he’ll be able to celebrate it with you if he wasn’t himself called for a mission. He prepared a whole schedule for that day. Helping you take a nice and soothing bath, then help you prepare for the night, go on a date, and give you a good massage - as much as he could - once you were back in your shared home. Each time you leave like this makes him discover a new depth of his love for you. Hopefully he knew when you were going to be back home. So when the day came he prepared a nice outfit for you and the most important, a warm bubble bath with scented candles. Though when he saw you coming home he knew he’d had to reschedule the date for the day after. He helped you in the bath and almost chocked when you asked if he could join you “O-of c-course Princess. Here l-let me just” he undressed and sat behind you in the bath, his cheeks tinted with a rosy colour. As he held you close he couldn’t help but marvel at how soft and warm you were. He ended up being the one falling asleep first in the bath.

You could feel that he was trembling as he held you under the strong emotions running through him - your friends stepped aside to give you some privacy. It's so strange" ( "it's so strange" as in to be this happy ) he murmured the last part with uncertainty in his voice. Now all he wanted was to be able to cuddle with you while he drifted off to sleep.

Sasori : You’ve missed him so much while you were on your mission, but you knew things weren’t going to happen the way you always dream they will. When you entered your shared place he didn’t even acknowledge your presence. His face still turned towards what he was crafting. Even if you know he wasn’t really vocal on his feelings it still hurt a bit. But as you were about to go mind your own business you heard his groggy voice behind you "I hated waiting for you to come back" And just this brought a huge smile on your face. You walked back towards him and kissed the top of his hair. A Sweet and gentle smile appeared on his lips as he softened slightly, feeling his heart swell with love. Maybe it was time to take a little break and lie in bed with you… maybe you could tell him about your mission. 

Shikamaru Nara : Usually very calm and relaxed, Shikamaru couldn't help the trembling of his knee or the way his foot was bouncing on the ground. After 2 months you were finally back and he just missed you so much. He couldn't even catch a break and take a nap. He had to keep himself busy with work until he wore himself out and fell down from exhaustion. Today you were coming back and he couldn't stop being so excited to be with you again. When he saw you standing there he thought first he’d manage to wait for you to greet your friends first and let you walk up to him. But he couldn’t, his legs took long strides, with one arm he pushed Naruto and pulled you against his chest. You lifted your head up and looked behind you to see who it was, even though you had an idea when you heard his voice "Even when you just returned, you can't help but be troublesome, woman" You quirked an eyebrow at him making him swallow hard "I'm o-only joking" After all you always knew how to trouble him.  

Gaara : From the moment you left, he was worried and concerned about you. He was always thinking that the worst could happen. At night he usually slept very badly when you weren't there. Knowing that you were far away, and on a mission on top, was enough to keep him up at night. He wanted to be informed of your whereabouts but was always afraid you'd take it as a lack of trust. So he waited. And then one day you came back as beautiful and radiant as the day you left. He, usually so reserved, even in the privacy of your house, rushed over to you and engulfed you in a bone crushing hug. His eyes widened and he quickly stepped back to check for any wounds. Then, once satisfied as he saw nothing, he took you back into his arms. Blushing deeply at his public display of affection. He hid his flushed face against your neck, taking the opportunity to place a few kisses and whisper "I'm so glad you're safe"

Utakata : He was quietly doing his laundry by a river when he felt a presence behind him. He was immediately suspicious, tensing slightly at the thought of anyone coming near your shared house. His sharp ear listened to every sound. And then suddenly he felt arms grab him from behind. He quickly gripped them and pinned the person to the ground. When he heard you giggles as you met his belligerent gaze, his eyes widened. He froze an instant, his hair dangling above your face,  and you took the opportunity to steal him a kiss. He blushed furiously and released his strong hold on you. A small smile appeared on his face as his eyes swept across your face. He saw a small scratch and instinctively ran his finger over it. Iruka Umino : It has been almost 3 months since you left on your mission. As he was closing his classroom he wondered, like everyday if tonight you’d be back. but as he neared the gate of the school he saw a figure he recognised. When your eyes locked he feels tears well up in his. He rubbed his eyes as he ran towards you and took you in a oh so gentle embrace mirroring the depth of his love for you. You knew how he was and tried not to give much importance to it. Though when you said that you missed him you only heard him growl from his office. “Okay…” you thought. You saw him slightly turn around and quickly check out for any noticeable injury you may have got. When he saw nothing he turned back on his paper. Frustrated, you told him that you were going to take a nap. He could sense the sadness in your voice and he just wanted to slap himself for this. So he waited until he was sure you were fast asleep and he joined you. He lied behind you and pulled you against his body, breathing in your scent “I hope you know damn well that if I proposed to you it’s because I care about you. I love you like crazy. SHISUI UCHIHA

Shisui is usually the calm and collected one no matter the situation. He can take out any enemy. Always has a plan and can lighten any situation with a lighthearted quip should it call for it.

But this, oh god nothing can prepare him for this.

You're not supposed to be able to get hit. Your entire jutsu is supposed to be impenetrable. More so than that, he's supposed to be your eyes in case things go wrong, your back up.

The enemy found a weak spot though—pulled a thread in the seam everything falls apart right in front of him.

Shisui feels so powerless as he calls your name.

'I've got you.' He says, catching you just before you hit the ground.

He ducks for cover as kunai come at him from all sides. The rest of the squad focus on the guy who got you. Taking down the rest of the enemies is a sinch in comparison. He can't even think about anything else except getting you out and alive.

When he makes it through the thick of the trees he feels you tremble in his arms.

'Shisui.' You call his name, same as you have a thousand times before but this time it's so quiet, almost ghostly.

❥︎ working as the hokage was an extremely tiring job. i mean, taking care of the entire village was no simple ordeal and could cause a lot of (understandable) stress if not handled carefully and so you sympathised for your partner who’d come home late and exhausted. 

❥︎ minato was definitely surprised when you greeted him at the door with a kiss and a cheeky grin. you worked quickly on removing the outer layer of his clothing so that he only remained in his shirt and trousers.

❥︎ i see minato as the type to follow whatever his partner does first and then ask questions later so he’d comply with your actions, confused on what the rush is all about when he you finally arrive at the bathroom and he’s greeted with the sight of a bubble bath prepared and candle lit around the bathroom.

❥︎ you’d leave him in the washroom to enjoy his relaxing time without your interrupting and prepare so food for him after handing him to read his favourite book while he soaks his body in the warm water.

❥︎ “follow me, my dear.” a soft chuckle escapes his lips as you take his hand in yours and lead him to your shared bedroom where you have prepared for him his clothes that consist of a new set of pyjamas. he’s definitely confused on why you’ve done all of this but is only quite used to going along with your randomness. you’d tell him to change before coming to the kitchen.

❥︎ once he’s there, he’s surprised by how much of his favourite is placed on the dining table and he starts to feel a bit of nervousness creep into him as he begins to believe that he might’ve forgotten your anniversary but he was so sure that it was in a couple of months.

❥︎ obviously you got a little worried with the silence and thought he disliked it but he was quick to notice your expression and so he pecked your cheek, pulling you in by the waist to thank you. a smile would settle on your face and you’d pat his chest and tell him to hurry now before the food gets cold.

❥︎ minato would make sure to not leave the table unless he’s finished most of the food as a way of thanks and would absolutely insist on helping you with the dishes (you’d obviously say no but man’s the hokage and he takes his dishes seriously so to avoid jail you let him wipe them dry and put them away).

❥︎ once the two of you were done, you brushed your teeth and then sat minato on the bed as you pulled out a tray carrying all of your skincare products.

❥︎ needless to say, minato practically clear skin except for the little stubble growing on his face due to his busy hours in the office.

❥︎ minato enjoyed doing skincare with you, he would often do it whenever he was free. it was great time to ask you how your day was and have meaningless conversations as you’d engage in some gossip. (being hokage also meant that he has a shit ton of information on everyone so you’d pry the details out of him whenever you felt bored)

❥︎ he especially enjoyed it whenever you had masks on your faces and you’d have to wait for them to take effect so you’d like back in bed, with your head resting against his left arm as he uses his right one as a pillow for himself. the comfortable silence you’d sit with soft music playing in the back never failed to make him feel so relaxed and content with his lover by his side.

❥︎ after washing off your faces and applying all the creams and toners, he’s ready to get into bed (which i don’t blame him, after a long time of stressing followed by relaxing activities i’d be out in a second) he’s surprised when you force him to sit in front of you with his back to you.

❥︎ by now, the question is definitely at the top of minatos tongue but it fades along with the knots on his back, neck and shoulders as you begin needed the tensed muscles that formed over the constant peering at papers and the signing of them. you worked your way down to his muscled arms and waist before repeating the massage once more. you could tell you were doing a good job by the way he’d sigh and groan and soon enough his eyes were fluttering open with much effort.

❥︎ an endearing smile would work it’s way on your face and you resist the urge to squeeze him but you softly tap him awake and he gives you a tired smile and a forehead kiss before offering you a massage despite his worn out state.

❥︎ obviously, you’d softly flick his forehead and pull his down with you before you plop on top of him with a content smile on your face.

❥︎ “was today my birthday?” he asks out of genuine curiosity, he wasn’t one to care about his own birthday so it wouldn’t be odd for him to forget all about it.

❥︎ you notice his eyes are closed and so you verbally answer him with a no and enjoy the little frown between his brows “i decided to give you a treat since you work so hard for us, mr hokage.”

❥︎ with that, he forces his eyes open and you can see the sincere gratefulness on his face as he pulls you closer to him and gives you a meaningful kiss.

❥︎ “thank you, my love.” he’d say and you feel yourself heat up slightly, it was nice to feel appreciated especially when he was a man that held so much power and so you made sure to pamper him the same way he still does despite carrying much pressure on his shoulders.

❥︎ “no need to thank me, honey.” you place a soft kiss on his nose and giggle as he scrunches it slightly.

The mission wasn't supposed to go this way. It was a B-ranked mission that took the two teams four days in the middle of the Earth country to complete, and they were just on their way home.

Kakashi should have foreseen this somehow, despite being just a Chunin with no Dōjutsu to see into the future. He still should have been prepared.

They all should have.

The enemy had strung on them when they were at their lowest, chakra exhausted from a previous battle.

Kakashi hadn't seen the man grab you, nor had he seen the blade covered in poison being stabbed into you, all he saw was the expression of pure terror Rin had on her face as she witnessed the scene.

He heard though, the screams of Kushina as she raced to you. The cried of Gai as Genma held him back from running after his sensei. Minatos calls to head to the cottage a mile back.

Now here he was, standing in the doorway of the Cottage as Rin and Kushina frantically tried to save you.

Obito, Genma, and Gai sat on the porch, eyes trained forward in horror. If you died… you'd be the first friend any of them had lost.

Kakashi, he didn't turn away. He watched as Rin, with tears streaming down her face, dug through all her medical bags searching for her antidotes.

He watched as Kushina grabbed a kunai to cut open your shirt and sports bra, and he watched as Minato held your hair back as you leaned over the shitty old kitchen table to throw up your own blood.

Your face, sweaty and flushed from the fever that was beginning to rise. Your pretty eyes that he had caught himself looking at were blinking tiredly. Your hair was wet, stuck to your face and knotted around your head.

Kakashi couldnt look away.

You were still pretty, he thought. Even if you looked like death.

Minato had to force him, pulling him away from the scene as Kushina pulled the fabric from your front, exposing the wound.

“You don't want to see this.”

Good Minato, who despite dealing with three kids in the middle of the war, still tried to keep them somewhat pure from the horrors of this world.

Kakashi, as soon as he turned away, knew you were going to die.

You had been insignificant to him for most of your lives, just another face in the classroom you two had shares.

You were nice, he knew that, but being nice got people killed and he was certain you'd die if you ever got into a battle. Back in the academy, you were quiet, nice, and friendly but insignificant to him.

You had changed since he had graduated before you, and left you to grow.

You turned into a fighter, not as good as Gai but you were above average. You fought with everything, all you had and it impressed Kakashi how much you grew.

Being Kushinas student must have done you some good, because you also held a fire similar to hers.

Maybe that’s why you had rushed to Genma, fighting the enemy that had knocked him out.

Maybe that’s why you had cut the man’s face, scarring him.

Maybe that’s why you were grab by your throat, held down and stabbed with the poison covered blade.

Maybe it was because now you were dying on a rotting table inside of an abandoned cottage in enemy woods.

Maybe it was because you were stupid, rushing to save your friend with no consideration for your life.

Maybe that's why he had grown to love you more than a teammate.

You used to be so insignificant in his life, but now you were everywhere.
