Ok. I am on holiday and it’s been said I am not able to follow Sanremo in its ending nights but HOW WAS IT ALLOWED for THIS duet to not win yesterday?????!??!!!!!!!!????
youtube
I mean… in whatever universe anybody with ears and decency should have just realized this was utter perfection, hence no debate over its coronation as the best put of whatever was its competition.
Mengoni was stellar but no better than this peak of harmonious and commanding grace. No way (although he saaaaaaaaaaaang and he truly did, he was amazing)
A proper list would have been
Giorgia / Elisa
Mengoni
Lazza / Emma
Elodie / Big Mama
And then the rest, with Ultimo nowhere near the top 10 as he looked like the 1 plus of Ramazzotti in a singing class presentation (Eros, I like tou but you must admit your partner barely sang anything).
Televoto will RUIN this Sanremo. When televoto was this important, Sanremo chose as its winners jokes like Marco Carta or Valerio Scanu.
Italian music scene is WAY better than that. Don’t let idiotic and deaf fandoms prevail please, we have rights to not be considered uninventive, old sounding, overrated but the way yesterday ended left me worried the shame of blind fan groups will send to Eurovision the worst of the possible bad choices.
Giorgia, Elisa… you were simply HEAVEN❤️: forgive those who just couldn’t grasp your gift because they use to listen to garbage and call it good 😩

Meloni blasts Macron for getting rich off child labor
Meloni blasts Macron for getting rich off child labor
France exploits child miners In a fiery tirade, Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni blasted French president Emmanuel Macron for raking in millions from child labor in African gold mines. France is still forcing Burkina Faso, the independent country it once controlled, to hand over the money it makes from the mines where 1,000 children toil every day. Meloni held up photos during a live TV…

Yo what are your thoughts around Juri? Particularly around the whole ‘have you ever wondered what it would be like to be of the opposite sex?’ line. (Btw I’m going to referring to Juri with he/him pronouns for the sake of consistency and my personal headcanon). I wouldn’t say outright that he’s an uncracked egg since his ideas surrounding gender are very limited, and I think the line should be interpreted with that in mind, so it’s possible that he wants to be GNC and imagines how being the opposite sex would allow him to express ‘weakness’ or other forms of expression more freely. I think back to that one line where he’s afraid of being seen as ‘girly’ and struggling to express how he doesn’t like Mr Burton shouting at him
I feel like Juri’s constant need to assert his masculinity and superiority over the nerds is partially due to him not feeling like he entirely fits in otherwise (because first-generation immigrant and I head canon that he only recently joined the jocks) as well as his father’s social conditioning
But if we were to interpret Juri as transfem, what would you say their relationship with Cornelius would be like? I’d imagine that Cornelius’ family is way more accepting than Juri’s but idk what impact that would have
why hi you!! i'm so happy to hear your thoughts???
so yeah, to begin with totally agree with him being first generation immigrant from russia; i do think this also contributes, because, and i might be wrong here since my knowledge is mostly based on online reports and just a few friends of mine that come from those geographic areas, as far as i know they are still particularly struggling for civil rights and in particular queer people. so yeah, i do think this perception of gender has stayed with him from there. (not that many other countries are that much better tbf. hello giorgia meloni called out about queer rights by literally everyone in the world)
i really like the interpretation of him that you suggested there?? it makes sense really. a way of sort of trying to look out of this imposed binary of expression. personally, i headcanon juri as bigender (he/she)!! he's terribly insecure about it though, because even though it is a sentiment and a perception of gender that she relates to, that he feels even comfortable into, there's that doubt gnawing inside, that internalized sentiment of how gender is supposed to work, and a sense of inadequacy at not making it work just right like the other jocks do (or at least seem to do, especially in her amplified vision where she is the only one who's wrong about it, where he is the defective one) (have i already mentioned how gender performance is a terribly strong theme of the jocks? god i love them)
and cornelius, mmh... that is in fact an interesting question. as long as they are both in school, i see their interactions to be quite hard honestly. mostly because there again, cornelius is a nerd and juri is a jock; the nerds' force runs on resentment after all, and juri as a jock would have her reputation ruined if he were to meet cornelius and someone found out about it.
on the other hand, though... i mean, i think cornelius, especially after coming out to the clique, would be fairly cmfortable in her gender expression, dare i say confident? i mean, they are still a nerd and years of being bullied and picked on does Things to a Brain, but. let's just focus on the gender euphoria there. especially since i still think her parents look at her kind of sideways about it (when they come out at least- but yes they never had problem with her playing juliet and her interests)
and juri, being as receptive as he is in this situation of his, would probably figure that asking to cornelius for even some advice might be a good idea? in secret of course!! like no other student must find out about it ever!! but. it can't hurt to try.
so yeah them getting close from here would kind of... change many things about the way they see humans at all, i guess? realizing that beyond the prejudices of a pea-brained gorilla or a stuck-up egghead there's a complex person, with fears and thoughts and feelings, just like them, because after all there isn't really an "us" and "them" but a multitude of people not really knowing what they're doing, thinking everyone else is doing it better than them, but at the end of the day just trying their best to go through life.

Oh hi! Hello! Very weird italian gal here, and you've just given me enough reason to rant about artists that I like.
Ramazzotti, Måneskin and Pavarotti are GREAT! You have very good taste.
Biagio Antonacci is another favourite of mine, and of course Laura Pausini and Tiziano Ferro.
Zen Circus is another great band. Than there is Elisa, Giorgia, Zucchero and Negramaro.
Mahmood, Levante and Elodie are other artists that I like very much.
Big classics are De Gregori, De André, Vecchioni, Lucio Dalla, Mia Martini.
Now I believe I have listed enough names for a year. Have a good day <3
Ahhh thank you for the Italian music recommendations! 😃 I also like Zucchero; completely forgot to mention him! Excited to listen to the rest.

4. What was your longest fic? Your shortest fic?

5. What was your most popular fic? Your least popular fic?
Most popular: i owe you a black eye and 2 kisses (5k hits)
Least popular: A Beginner's Guide to Fixing a Heart You Didn't Break (568 hits) Also haven’t abandoned this fics but have to edit the two chapters I already have written first.
6. What fic didn’t perform as well as you thought it would?
Hmm, maybe I’m just a self-doubter bcs all of my fics perform better than I think they will 😂 Always posting new fics with the idea that this may be some highly specific plot that only I like so I’m always pleasantly surprised.
Guess if I have to choose I’d say A Beginner's Guide to Fixing a Heart You Didn't Break for the low hit count but she’s just a baby so I believe in her.
7. What fic performed way better than you thought it would?
Lol just choosing my least/most popular for these I guess bcs I would say i owe you a black eye and 2 kisses
It’s been MANY years since I was in high school, so I was hesitant that it would flow naturally but the response was great. Honestly got overwhelmed by the reception from chapter 1 and had to crush so many insecurities to write chapter 2.
8. What was your favorite fic you wrote from 2022?
Definitely Let’s Try This Again Maybe it’s because it’s a gift but it’s the only fic of mine I can read back and enjoy.

scenes on a couch;or, the best orange juice in southern california by @actnatural-ly In a shock to no one. Will forever be amazed at the way is held my heart for all 1,451 words.
to bring you home by @stannisfactions  I talk about it enough but this really is such a fantastic work. The Fezhotel is a national landmark and I’m chaining myself to the doors if it’s ever in threat of being torn down.
God’s lonely man by @fiera-di-scarborough Could really pick like three different ones from Giorgia bcs I’m never done with a fic of hers without at least 3 favorite lines that made my heart stop, but what Lexi makes for Fez in this fic is just 🥺
Taste by @myfemininedivine Devoured it all in one night because I couldn’t stop reading. This one…this one leaves me breathless and the angst hits so good.
Hollywood and Vine by @fantasydee The characterization in this one is just off the charts insanely good.
It’s also the fic i also credit with getting me writing fanfic because I made a tumblr to follow for updates then started following others then was like fuck it let me write this weird kidnapping fic that I’ve mapped out in my head and have been praying for someone else to write
10. Tag your friends to do this year-end fic review as well!
@fiera-di-scarborough @macadeliks @sunshinebunnie
HUGE thanks to all Fexi writers for bringing me out of dark spots many many times in 2022. You are all so kind and special and hope to highlight many more works with more fic collages in 2023!

you probably aren't going to respond to this but it's funny that you judge artists like rosalia or lana for doing sth indeed problematic yet you keep stanning a woman who at 20 years old was calling herself the n word, cosplaying geishas, mocking people with down syndrome and muslims among other things. Yet you deemed her forgiven because she's D's gf and none of these affects you personally. But yeah she "apologized" = blamed the milanese society of 2016 for not teaching her better.
Tumblr media
why wouldn't i respond to this? cuz you think you "got me" or something? lol. lmao even
i don't stan giorgia, let's start there. some of y'all really don't know what words mean. and i don't deem her forgiven, because her apologies weren't mine to accept. the people who should decide if they forgive her or not are the people she hurt, and i'm not one of them. i don't know if she learned from her gross past and is doing better now because, i'm gonna let you in on a secret, i don't fucking follow giorgia on any social media. literally you'll only see me post about her now if it's with damiano, or if i'm reblogging one of my own old gifsets, with the exception of that cozy girl post because i thought it was funny, so it's baffling to me how, just because i don't hate the woman with every fiber of my being like your miserable self (because lets be real, you only sent this ask because you hate her. you don't care about the topics at hand, at least not right now. someone sent an ask about måneskin and racism and you threw her in the middle like she had anything to do with it to begin with), y'all think i stan her and i worship the ground she walks in. like, i don't even do that with måneskin, please be serious
you also seem to ignore i brought those things up because the ask was specifically about racism, so why would i mention diego rivera and frida kahlo, which, for your information, because i must tell you specifically about all of my thoughts 24/7 apparently, makes me really uncomfortable when damiano posts about them with little heart emojis
and where did i ever say i was judging them for accepting being a part of the soundtrack? my words were "i wasn't excited". reading comprehension is a great skill to have, i really recommend it
and i'm gonna keep judging vic for taking that pic with a pig, yes, glad i can clear that up

Hm, an Anglican, the son of a Catholic convert, and a Catholic convert. Isn’t the advantage of being Italian that you can drink from the pure well of the Church undefiled?
I am the child of Italian immigrants, reared and educated in the Church but also in the more pagan milieu of Catholicism as actually practiced by people who had come down to America out of the stony hills of Abruzzo where even in the middle 20th century electricity had not arrived and the serpent-goddess Angitia still rode as a rumor on the wind. Like the controversial Camille Paglia, whom I started reading in my teens and instantly understood, I believe this pagan bedrock—or not bedrock but watery womb—to be the true advantage of my Catholic education and am suspicious of the mere moralism of the Anglo convert, the seeker after some stable truth beyond the petty purlieus of English empiricism—itself culturally appealing to me as a longtime student and even teacher of British literature, a domestic anarchism that rises right out of the earth, trailing roots and soil, whether in Chaucer or Shakespeare, Wordsworth or Hardy, Lawrence or Forster.
But, while Scruton and Tolkien mean nothing to me, I do like Chesterton. I’ve never read his fiction, though, give or take a Father Brown story. Just the magisterial Orthodoxy, the biography of fleshy Aquinas subtitled The Dumb Ox, and the underrated literary criticism, those pocket-sized panegyrics on Chaucer, Blake, Dickens. Would The Man Who Was Thursday—subtitled A Nightmare—be a good book to read for Halloween? I think I have a copy somewhere amid all the printed matter in this apartment.
Ironically, as Giorgia Meloni cites Chesterton the better to thunder against contemporary gender ideology, I found Chesterton through Gaiman’s Sandman, where he appears ruddy cheek by rouged jowl with all the appealingly drawn gay and trans characters. Like the currently besieged rulers of Iran, Chesterton would, I suspect, not be unfriendly to binary transgenderism as it retains the separateness and hallowedness of the two sexes. He might scorn radical feminism and genderfluidity alike, on the other hand, as vitiating this metaphysical distinction. He identified Blake as a gnostic; wouldn’t he say the same about a woman who inspired Blake: the founding feminist Wollstonecraft? In the derogatory parlance of the Tumblr trans activist, he would be a truscum, not a TERF; it is Hunter Schafer, not Giorgia Meloni, who ought to be declaiming his words from a dais. To add woman to man might, anyway, be redundant, if we believe this memorable passage from Orthodoxy:
The man who lives in contact with what he believes to be a living Church is a man always expecting to meet Plato and Shakespeare to-morrow at breakfast. He is always expecting to see some truth that he has never seen before. There is one only other parallel to this position; and that is the parallel of the life in which we all began. When your father told you, walking about the garden, that bees stung or that roses smelt sweet, you did not talk of taking the best out of his philosophy. When the bees stung you, you did not call it an entertaining coincidence. When the rose smelt sweet you did not say “My father is a rude, barbaric symbol, enshrining (perhaps unconsciously) the deep delicate truths that flowers smell.” No: you believed your father, because you had found him to be a living fountain of facts, a thing that really knew more than you; a thing that would tell you truth to-morrow, as well as to-day. And if this was true of your father, it was even truer of your mother; at least it was true of mine, to whom this book is dedicated. Now, when society is in a rather futile fuss about the subjection of women, will no one say how much every man owes to the tyranny and privilege of women, to the fact that they alone rule education until education becomes futile: for a boy is only sent to be taught at school when it is too late to teach him anything. The real thing has been done already, and thank God it is nearly always done by women. Every man is womanised, merely by being born.
Giorgia, they tell us, is a fascist. But until the liberal center is willing to do anything serious about the economic and social dislocation its preferred policies cause—the hollowed-out industrial core, the metastasis of bureaucracy, the reduction of all culture to calculus, empire’s blown-back brutality—we will continue to lose sympathy for its partisans as they find themselves beset by fascists and communists and reply with little better than moralist bromides. Loyal to the liberalism that sheltered my immigrant forebears as well as to the non-liberal mystique they carried with them across the Atlantic, I have made my own humble proposals—so far, alas, ignored.

Every day I sit with my thoughts, looking at them and trying to understand what they want to tell me......
I live my life in third person because I have understood that I am neither my mind, nor my thoughts, nor my body.......
I see people for who they really are, I can see people beyond their masks that they wear every day, it's a skill that I woke up one day and had, after having spent and been brought down by a kind of pain that makes you feel a desire not to wake up the next day......
Everyone puts on a mask every day to hide their fears, insecurities, weaknesses, uncertainties, imperfections, who they really are, for fear of not being enough......
There have been people who have changed me into a better person, there are many names I would like to say, but fuck it I will say them......
Victor, Massimo, Andrea, Rocco, Britney, Fiorella, Diego, Ludvic, Valentina, Beatrice, Chiara, Asia, Abiola, Silvia, Giuseppe, Antonella, Eva, Giovanni, Guglielmo, Esther, Lulu, Elisa, Giulio, Ian, Jemi, Linda, Abigail, Davide, Alessandro, Beatrix, Konrad, Alberto, Sam, Pascal, James, Abraham, Gaia, Calvary, Promise, Mike, Edwin, Jeremiah, Lawrence, Luca, Stefano, Joshua, Marco, Pedro, Ulysses, Vittoria, Ruth, Valeria, Roberta, Barbara, Chanice, Giancarlo, Lorenzo, Valerio, Armando, Haytem, Chichi, Karen, Kuba, Angela, Emma, Giorgia, Riccardo, Roberto, Manuel, Edoardo, Francesco, Luis, Mattia, Paolo, Antonia, Candita, Martina, Sabrina, Daniel, Coco, Antonio, Emanuele, Aurora, Justice, Ebuka, Prezioso, Kyle, Adam, Ibrahim, Mohamed, Vlad, Sergio, Sebi, Zack, Alex, Victory, Yabo, Rhoda, Hannah, Oduwa, Matteo, Luke, Divine, Regina, Jessica, Thomas, Willy, Ozioma, Brian, Blessing, Gift, Alban, Kevin, Wesley, Presley, Prisley, Tobi, Ezinne, Shanice, Pietro, Brian, Rebecca, Connor, Ruud, Michela, Daniele, Eric, Amedeo, Omar, Owen, Mounir, Merem, Andrei, Claudio, Claudia, Justin, Stephany, Antonluigi, Ejiro, Yuya, Luigi, Iacopo, Karolina, Bernadetta, Michele, Jake, Larens, Emperor, Redhiel, Giovanna, Edu, Philip, Fidele, Ivie, John, Sheldon, Nathaniel, Alia, Adam, Melissa, Felicia, Neil, Gemma, Ilyas, Rebecca, Dimitri, Daniele, Isaac, Maya, Ann, Jennifer, Gabriele, Janleon, Nour, Vincenzo, Kurt, Sara, Charles..........
Many names unsaid but hugged tightly in my heart.....
Names of wonderful and special people...... My sister and I sat in the room talking about life and one thing we understood is that when we want something and then we get it, that something loses its value over time and then we want something else thinking that, that something will make us feel happy and emotionally satisfied again, but it will always and only be for a short period of time, because the things that really make us happy in life are things that money cannot buy......
My mouth is dangerous, my words are dangerous, I have learned and am getting better every day at talking to people, understanding people, being in their shoes, I am dangerous......
I can get whatever I want from a person with words, and it's not just because of my way of doing things, but rather my energy, how I carry myself, my elegance, calmness, charisma, how I am, who I have become...... This way of mine attracts many girls, my way of speaking makes them feel vulnerable, listened to, understood, seen, and all these things are things that every girl would like to receive from the person she loves and cares about...... .
Words have power, words can cause a war, words can stop sufferings, words can change lives, words can heal emotional pain, words can bring together two friends who haven't spoken for years, words can break a love that seemed indestructible, words are the most lethal weapon a human being can have, and if a human being knows how to control and use them, he will have the world and human beings in the palm of his hands.. ....
I will never be able to fully know my family, parents, brothers, sisters, friends or my girlfriend and vice versa, and even if knowing this thing should make me feel scared, I am not, this world in which I find myself In works like this, and since I can't change this thing, I have to immerse myself in it and let myself be carried away by its current called "Life".........
In 2020 the old version of David died and a new David was reborn whom even if he is not yet in his complete phase, I am very proud of him and whom he is becoming.....
He wants to be an inspiration for those who feel different and strange just because they don't feel or see themselves like other people.....
He wants to be an inspiration for those who do not believe in themselves, in their abilities and talents......
He wants to be an inspiration for his future children.....
He wants to be an inspiration for himself, and for the little David in him.................................

Uranium is being mined near the Grand Canyon as prices soar and the US pushes for more nuclear power (AP) The largest uranium producer in the United States is ramping up work just south of Grand Canyon National Park on a long-contested project that largely has sat dormant since the 1980s. The work is unfolding as global instability and growing demand drive uranium prices higher. The Biden administration and dozens of other countries have pledged to triple the capacity of nuclear power worldwide in their battle against climate change, ensuring uranium will remain a key commodity for decades as the government offers incentives for developing the next generation of nuclear reactors and new policies take aim at Russia’s influence over the supply chain.
Questions are mounting over whether ‘unprecedented’ U.S.-Israel intel sharing is contributing to civilian deaths in Gaza. (WSJ) A secret memorandum that expanded U.S. intelligence sharing with Israel after the Oct. 7 Hamas attack has sparked concerns in Washington, according to people familiar with the issue. Among the worries is that there is little independent oversight to confirm that U.S.-supplied intelligence isn’t used in strikes that unnecessarily kill civilians or damage infrastructure. The intelligence-sharing agreement has received less public scrutiny than U.S. weapons sales to Israel. But it is prompting increasing questions from Democratic lawmakers and human-rights groups, even as alarm mounts within the Biden administration over Israel’s war conduct.
A Rio councilwoman’s killing was a mystery. Corruption kept it unsolved (AP) Two days after Rio de Janeiro city councilwoman Marielle Franco’s 2018 assassination, her widow sat down with the chief of the state’s civil police, Rivaldo Barbosa, who pledged to do everything in his power to hold the guilty parties to account. In fact, the man Veja magazine once exalted as “Rio’s Sherlock” had the exact opposite intent, according to newly revealed allegations. Federal Police arrested Barbosa on March 24—over six years later—for allegedly helping orchestrate Franco’s killing and taking money to obstruct the very investigation he would oversee. The explosive revelations in the nearly 500-page Federal Police report offer an unprecedented glimpse into how organized crime has undermined Rio’s institutions and reveal the extent of corruption in a city where militias allegedly pay police to look away.
What Happened When This Italian Province Invested in Babies (NYT) Full houses have increasingly become history in Italy, which has one of the lowest birthrates in Europe and where Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, as well as Pope Francis, have warned that Italians are in danger of disappearing. But the Alto Adige-South Tyrol area and its capital, Bolzano, more than any other part of the country, bucked the trend and emerged as a parallel procreation universe for Italy, with its birthrate holding steady over decades. The reason, experts say, is that the provincial government has over time developed a thick network of family-friendly benefits, going far beyond the one-off bonuses for babies that the national government offers. Parents enjoy discounted nursery schools, baby products, groceries, health care, energy bills, transportation, after-school activities and summer camps. The province supplements national allocations for children with hundreds of euros more per child and vaunts child-care programs, including one that certifies educators to turn their apartments into small nurseries. All of that, experts say, helps free up women to work, which is vital for the economy. As in France and some Scandinavian countries, it also shows that a policy of offering affordable day-care services has the power to steer Italy from the impending demographic cliff as the birthrate falls.
Passport checks for air travellers lifted as Bulgaria and Romania join EU’s Schengen (Reuters) Airports in Sofia and Bucharest on Sunday removed passport check points for those departing to or arriving from most European Union member states as Bulgaria and Romania partially joined the Schengen open-travel zone. The two countries reached an agreement late last year to join Europe’s free-travel area by air and sea after Austria opposed full membership, including land crossings, saying Romania and Bulgaria needed to do more to prevent illegal immigration. The Interior minister in the outgoing government, Kalin Stoyanov, told journalists on Sunday that Bulgaria should become a full member of the Schengen zone by the end of this year, meaning border check points will be removed for people and goods travelling by road and by rail.
2 dead as Russia launches attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure (AP) A Russian cruise missile strike on infrastructure in Ukraine’s western Lviv region killed one man, while another died in an attack in the northeast, officials said Sunday. Hundreds of thousands in Ukraine’s Odesa region were left without power Sunday after debris from a downed Russian drone caused a blaze at an energy facility, Gov. Oleh Kiper said. Some 170,000 homes suffered power outages as a result of the attack.
Istanbul Mayor Headed for Re-election, in Blow to Erdogan’s Party (NYT) The mayor of Istanbul was headed for a stinging re-election victory against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his ruling party early Monday, beating back a broad campaign by the president and his government and keeping Turkey’s largest city and economic powerhouse in opposition hands. The strong showing by Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu put him on track for his third win against Mr. Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party, solidifying his status as a star in the political opposition. Many Turks see Mr. Imamoglu as a potential contender for the presidency. The opposition was also on the verge of significant gains in other local elections across Turkey. Preliminary vote counts on Monday kept it in power in four of the country’s largest cities—Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Antalya—and gave it control of a fifth, Bursa, and a number of smaller cities.
Cambodia: Hundreds of Indians rescued from cyber-scam factories (BBC) The Indian government has so far rescued 250 citizens in Cambodia who were forced to run online scams. They were promised jobs but "forced to undertake illegal cyber work", India's foreign ministry said. Recent reports have said more than 5,000 Indians stuck in Cambodia were forced to operate cyber-fraud schemes. Hundreds of thousands of people from around the world are estimated to have fallen prey to human traffickers running job scams in South East Asia. Victims, mostly young and tech-savvy, are promised jobs and then lured into illegal online work ranging from money laundering and crypto fraud to so-called love scams, where they pose as lovers online.
Protests Against Netanyahu Intensify as Cease-Fire Talks Resume (NYT) Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faced growing challenges to power on Sunday as thousands gathered outside Parliament to call for early elections in what were shaping up to be one of the largest demonstrations against the government in Israel since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip. Some protesters carried signs calling for Mr. Netanyahu’s “immediate removal.” Others wielded posters calling for elections, saying “those who destroyed can’t be the ones to fix.” The protest came a day after thousands took to the streets of Tel Aviv, waving flags and carrying pictures of the Israeli hostages with signs reading “Hostage deal now.” Elad Dreifuss, a 25-year-old university student demonstrating in Jerusalem on Sunday, said that protesting against the government at a time of war was a difficult decision, but that “if the government can’t live up to its responsibility, something has to change.”
Israeli troops leave Gaza’s Shifa Hospital a wreck in sea of rubble (Reuters/BBC) Israeli forces have withdrawn from Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City after a two-week operation, the Israeli military said on Monday, leaving behind a wasteland of destroyed buildings and Palestinian bodies scattered in the dirt of the complex. The Israeli military said it had killed and detained hundreds of gunmen in clashes in the area of the hospital, and seized weaponry and intelligence documents. Hamas and medical staff deny that Palestinian fighters have any armed presence in hospitals. A spokesman for Gaza’s Civil Emergency Service said Israeli forces had executed two people whose bodies were found at the complex in handcuffs, and used bulldozers to dig up the grounds of the complex and exhume buried bodies. Footage circulated on social media and not yet verified by Reuters showed the bodies of dead Palestinians, some covered in dirty blankets, scattered on the ground around the charred hulk of the hospital building, many of whose outer walls were missing. Meanwhile, an Israeli air strike hit a courtyard in al-Aqsa hospital, killing four people and injuring 17 others, including journalists.
Palestinian Christians (Religion News Service) Palestinian Christians, a community that dates back to Jesus’ time, have long lived under the threat of extinction. This Easter, however, we bear witness to horrors never imagined. The church in the Holy Land, along with thousands of years of Palestinian culture and heritage, is disintegrating before our eyes. A pastor in Bethlehem and founder of Dar al-Kalima University, the first and only Palestinian university with a focus on arts, culture and design, I have invested my life in my community, which has played an outsize role both in Palestinian culture and on the global stage. Palestinian Christians founded 40% of the aid organizations and other NGOs in the occupied territories. Our schools, hospitals and advocacy organizations serve all Palestinians and represent our third-largest private employer. Church-related organizations run a third of the health services in the West Bank and Gaza. Yet, like all Palestinians, we have suffered the indignity of Israeli occupation and the crime of apartheid. Since Israel’s independence in 1948, our villages have been razed, our people ethnically cleansed, our lives, lands and stories erased. We have persevered through decades of disenfranchisement, military occupation and injustice alongside our Muslim Palestinian brothers and sisters, witnessing and enduring what the International Court of Justice has found may be plausibly called a genocide.
An Israeli strike killed top Iranian commanders, Iran said (NYT) An airstrike launched by Israel today destroyed a building belonging to the Iranian consulate in Damascus and killed at least three Iranian generals, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps said in a statement. Four other officers were killed. Four Israeli officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, acknowledged that Israel had carried out the attack. The strike targeted a secret meeting between Iranian intelligence officials and Palestinian militants to discuss the war in Gaza, Iranian officials said. Among those killed was General Mohamad Reza Zahedi, who oversaw Iran’s covert military operations in Syria and Lebanon. The strike appeared to be among the deadliest in a yearslong shadow war between Iran and Israel. Iran’s ambassador to Syria said, “This attack will have our fierce response.”
Pope’s Easter speech renews calls for peace (Washington Post) Speaking to tens of thousands of followers in St. Peter’s Square, and millions more across the globe, Pope Francis gave a solemn accounting of a world in crisis Sunday, using the pulpit of his Easter address to renew calls for a cease-fire in Gaza while drawing attention to other conflicts, from Ukraine to Haiti, heightened risks of famine, the threat of climate change and the plight of migrants. “How much suffering we see in the eyes of the children: The children in those lands at war have forgotten how to smile! With those eyes, they ask us: Why? Why all this death? Why all this destruction?” he said.

The "idontwanttogotoschool" chronicles ep.1 :)
Hey....
Wake up...It's an usual school day.
But...what is a usual school day for me?
well....
I wake up at 6:30 a.m. Dutch time with 0 will to live, but i dont have anything better to do so i just wake up.
Next, I take a shower because that may be the only thing keeping me awake for the rest of the day.I take it fast and don't wash my hair, because i'm going out with fucking -4 degrees Celsius outside so wet hair is a big no. And of course, I don't have the patience to blow dry it.
Then I choose my outfit which is the same outfit as the day before (it's always stupid jeans, that are ripped even if as I said it's -4 degrees Celsius outside, a random hoodie, Jordans and my favorite necklace).I always stop with my pants half-way up to stare at my wall thinking "what the actual hell i'm doing with life?". After being called out by my mom for being slow,i finish getting dressed up and i run to get breakfast.
Breakfast: a meal eaten in the morning as the first meal of the day (Shotout to Cambridge). For me, it is simply milk poured into my 30002938-year-old mug, with 5 biscuits inside.Yep, that's my breakfast.
Then I have literally 20 seconds of peace, 'cause between brushing my teeth, brushing my hair, taking asthma meds, and preparing my backpack cuz I was too lazy to do it the night before, it's already 7:40 a.m., as known as the time I leave for school.
So, let's start with the fact that I am indeed lucky. I live in the rural zone of my city, in a building full of immigrants, as I am, in fact, an immigrant myself. But despite that (NOT SAYING THAT IF YOU LIVE IN A RURAL ZONE YOU ARE UNLUCKY OR WTV) , i'm lucky, because almost everyday i go to school by car with one of my parents, and i have access to everything i ask for.Anyways, that not the point. By the time i was talking to you, i arrived at school.
As soon as i arrive i run to the only person i know that arrives earlier than me: Lara. Lara is literally one of the people I see the most at school because, despite her being of a different friend group, she's my deskmate (if such a thing exists lol), so we talk during ALL THE LESSONS. Anyway, as soon as I reach her, she asks for my phone. Ever since I got an iPhone 15 as a gift, my phone became her property. She knows my password, she uses it daily, but that's alright, she's my friend anyway.
Then, there's Matilde. She's been there way more time than Lara. But I don't go up to her. She's older, and her other friends are older too, so I feel embarrassed. But 2 minutes before getting to class, she comes up to me on her own and just starts telling me all the juicy gossip drama or whatever, and I listen to it, not cause I love gossip, but it is because she's my friend. Anyways that's one of my favorite parts of the day, because Matilde is beautiful.
It's 8 a.m right now, and my BORING school day started. It really doesn't matter which subject it is, everything bores me.Thank god i have Lara by my side, Eva and Mathilda behind, and Giorgia in front. I literally chat or draw during the entire lesson and then...
9.45 a.m, it's recess and I go to my chosen friend group of the day, cuz im unstable as fuck haha. I usually steal other people's snacks, even if I have mine (I don't tell them). Then,it's time for other boring lessons and then another break, so i'll skip to the end of the school day.
It's 2 p.m,and from this point, things are pretty different each day
MONDAY
Recapping,i have flute lessons go home at 3.45, gym at 5,00 and then i have my night routine
TUESDAY
Italian extra lessons, home at 4.00 and i'm done.
OTHER DAYS:
i go to this place after school where i lunch, do my homework, or atleast i'm supposed to cause i literally use my phone.
P.S:it's full of nuns
P.P.S: Matilde goes there too :)
Now, it's 7 p.m, and i'm at home having dinner.Sometimes my family isn't at home for dinner,so i have dinner alone with my sister. After dinner i use my phone or read.At 20.30 i'm setted to sleep, but i start overthinking about very random stuff. Then,i fall asleep.
Usually i wake up at 2 a.m for various reasons:
1.I need water more than everything
2.I need to pee
3.I just woke up and now i can't fall back asleep
After this, the cycle restarts, and this goes up 5 days a week.
Well folks of tumblr, this is my usual school day, hope you disliked it as much as i do,se ya next post
bye
