This meadow crater is where I called home for 100 Minecraft Days while I challenged myself to complete 4 major goals including building up an awesome base with some of the new blocks.
It was such a fun challenge, some of the most fun I've ever had playing Minecraft!!
This build was extremely inspired by an old build that I did abt 18 months ago that was further inspired by Blockdown Builds; definitely recommend checking him out for more building inspo/fun content!
Soooo I got a lil carried away with this build, the inside is about 97 percent accurate to its real life counterpart. There’s certain places that I could just not find any references to replicate. Those being the souvenir shop. the rooms behind the lift which is located in the upper court yard by the well, and the space under the entrance. Other than those three, the rest of the entire castle is completed. Sparse decor or furniture as per the references. Some still need some decor or furniture. If anyone has any information about bran castle and it’s history, I’d love to chat about it!
After a considerable amount of time, my fairytale castle is done!
Ramble and some neat extras under the cut!
There is no interior (I'd say "yet" but I know myself and it's a miracle I finished this at all) and the veins running through it took over 200 blocks of raw iron! That's just over a chest full of ingots (29 stacks!).
This fact is especially funny because the separated tower actually has an iron farm squeezed into it, which I built first and which generated about 580 iron blocks worth of ingots in the process of finishing the build.
I ended up building it in a very weird way so I could make this "timelapse" which I think ended up having a pretty cool effect but also I am not doing this again.
I also drew this one! In very much the same style as I drew the wizard tower, both of which I pretty heavily referenced dnd miniatures.
Fun fact! The page I drew this on is absolutely full of madman scribble in the form of trigonometry calculations because replaymod doesn't actually have an easy method to orbit a point (at least not one I can find).
Here’s a quick look at my starter survival base! Be sure to follow me on Twitch and catch a stream where I’ll be expanding upon it during my Medieval SMP series. Hope to see you there!
i'm a hardcore player at heart and it's one of my biggest passions. this world is extremely special to me as it's my lore world & this is Block's Bastion, the first major build I've done in this world, inspired by my very good friend Blockdown!
every build in this world has a story to tell, a memory associated with it, and i play this world live 2x a week on my Twitch if you wanna come watch~!
been playing around with building stuff in minecraft recently, here's the first thing i want to share with y'all; the castle (and frog shrine). any tips are much appreciated! i'm by no means new to minecraft but i'm new to actually trying to build stuff that looks decent.
i've only attached a couple images here, if you want more to have a look at specific parts, then by all means ask me; i'll provide them as soon as i can!
the main attraction here is the castle, not the frog shrine. i'm pretty happy with it - the interior needs a lot of work but i'm focusing on exteriors currently.
a big focus of this especially was with the texture in the walls, there's a lot of variation in blocks, depth, and where possible colour (with things like vines).
also as an explanation for the frog shrine, we (this is a shared world with a couple other friends) spawned in 21 invincible frogs all named "Andy2" and they all seemed to migrate from the river we spawned them in up to the castle. we had no idea why, but we worked together to make a frog shrine next to it (i built the shell then he went and made it look like a fucking murder scene on the inside). this is just known as frog castle now, for that reason. most of the frogs are still surrounding it as well, despite not being able to see them in the screenshots (they're camera shy).
again, any and all feedback is much appreciated, and feel free to ask for screenshots of specific parts with/without shaders!
