My opinion on the original Pig designs.

Been recently playing the re-released original Angry Birds game, titled Rovio Classics: Angry Birds, and it's reverted the pigs back to their original designs, which I'm not fond of because of their (and excuse my language) shit-eating grins, especially the minion pigs.

I like the Chrome pigs better since they're close to the birds' designs.

Talia honestly forgot about Jack once he was gone, he had been deemed worthless in her father's eyes and was therefore worthless to her. If she ever thought about him at all, she assumed his corpse was dropped in a ditch somewhere and then continued her own training. She had no knowledge of the family that took in Jack. Ra's also had no knowledge of the family that took in Jack. Ra's half expected the minion assigned to take Jack away would have just killed the kid and fed the body to pigs. Under the idea that Ra's is filthy rich, the amount that the Drakes receive for taking care of Jack is a pittance to the demon head and is part of the maintenance of minion budget so not even the regular payments to Jack's new family would remind him of his failure of a son. The accountant in charge of sending the payments is used to long timeframes of semi immortals and so rather than stopping the payments when Jack is eighteen or twenty one, keeps them going until Jack marries Janet with the idea that someone who's married is almost certainly an adult, probably. There's one last bigger than usual payment, directly to Jack, as a wedding present.

Talia would have no idea that Tim was her nephew prior to sending Damian to his father and likely wouldn't find out at all until well after the Brucequest. If Ra's found out during the Brucequest, it's doubtful that he'd tell anyone until he'd made his decision whether or not to accept that Tim is actually of Al Ghul blood. After he kicks Tim out the window and decides, yes, this is his grandson, this boy is worthy of his blood, maybe he'd mention it to Talia in a "why can't damian be more like his cousin?" sort of way, but by then it would be too late for Talia to inspire more reasons for Damian to hate Tim.

Ra's al Ghul being a fucking troll by casually dropping "why can't Damian be more like his cousin?" knowing full well that Talia didn't know this information before. That's a fantastic way for him to tell her.

I agree that it could be likely that Ra's and the LoA forgot about Jack. It makes me curious how many family members are out there forgotten (and how many Tim and Damian run into [probably while said family member is trying to kill them]).

Does Jack know he's adopted and the payments came from his bio family?

Summary: Mike is being bothered by Troy and his friends and y/n comes to save Mike and ends up getting in a fight with the entire gang. Mike later on ends up cleaning her wounds.

Mike pov:

I was heading back home after school when Troy and his gang came up to me as I got on my cycle

“What’s up loser. You got any money on you? I’m trying to buy some chocolate” Troy asked me in his pig like voice

I did have money but that was meant for me to go get milk for home and I wasn’t going to give it up so easily

“No Troy, I don’t so now you can go bother someone else and let me go” I told him in full confidence

“Oh so the loser’s talking back to me now huh? Also what’s that in you pocket, looks like a 5 dollar bill to me” Troy said as he held me by my collar

I was ready to face the punches Troy was about to throw at me but I heard another voice

“Oi Troy what do you think you are doing?” It was y/n.

Troy let go of me and walked over to y/n with his entire gang

I started to grow nervous. I knew y/n was tough and strong but I didn’t know if y/n would be able to handle the entirety of Troy’s gang.

“Who do you think you are huh? Beating up poor kids for your own enjoyment. Didn’t your parents teach you any manners?” I heard y/n say to Troy

“Don’t talk about my parents you bitch! What are you dimwits looking at? Attack her!” Troy ordered his minions and all of them pounced on y/n

I was too scared to watch so I looked away not wanting to watch y/n get hurt.

I heard loud punches and whimpers from behind me but I didn’t dare look back and was about to leave and get a teacher to sort this out when I saw Troy’s minions run in all different directions.

I looked back and saw y/n alone but her body was littered with bruises and cuts, turns out they all had had grabbed the pins out of her hair and used them to scratch her.

When I meet those bastards again I’ll make sure they will pay for why they did to my love.

“Y/n get on my bike. We’re going to my house and I’ll get you all cleaned up” I told her

Before she could protest I grabbed her and dragged her to my cycle helping her on and sped back to my house completely forgetting about the milk I was supposed to buy.

“Welcome back Mike did you get the milk?” I heard my mother shout from the kitchen and I just stood there frozen. Shoot.

“Mike are you there? Why re you not answering?” Mom called out again and I heard her footsteps making her way to the front door but I couldn’t move an inch.

My mom already did not like y/n since she got into fights and also desperately needed that milk. I was so done for.

Just then Nancy walked in and announced to our mom

“I got the milk mother! Mike was getting bullied and y/n came to save him and ended up taking the whole gang by herself” Nancy told mom in hopes of her liking y/n more seeing her current state

“Oh dear thank you for saving his life! Mike please tend to her cuts and Nancy kindle give her a set of your clothes and thank you for the milk” Mom said and all three of us breathed a sigh of relief

I whispered a thank you to Nancy and she gave me a soft smile and a nod

I took y/n to my room and got the medical kit out and started tending to her cuts and bruises

“Why do you constantly get into fights for me? Getting hurt this badly for some loser kid” I asked her wanting to know the reason

“Mike, look at me. I defend you because I care about you. I enjoy your presence and I will not tolerate someone hurting one of the only genuine people in my life” she told me with a soft smile on her face

We both stared into each others eyes and slowly leaned in closer and closer

Our lips met midway and it was the most magical thing I had ever experienced

“Wow” we both said at the same time after ending the kiss

“I love you. With or without your battle scars”

“I love you. With or without your confidence”

Ok now to be annoying about a completely different flavor of Zelda: That cartoon from the 80s that has aged so poorly I take psychic damage every time I watch it (which has been multiple times (I have problems)). A few months ago when rewatching and being sick of the Link's personality from the show (his best feature is how funny the "Well excuuuuse me, princess" line is) I was like "I wish the quiet kid from the games/art was here instead" and accidentally thought too hard and made an au/rewrite of the cartoon lmao.

Anyways Zelda cartoon au where cryptid boy Link saves the post apocalyptic Hyrule of loz 1 and chills in the castle with cartoon Zelda to defend the triforce pieces that they have while trying to find the last piece before Ganon can find it, stumbling across the sleeping loz 2 Zelda along the way lol. Hijinks ensue as he teaches Zelda the brawns to back up her girlboss and he gets an adventure buddy because its dangerous to go alone and Zelda with her boomerang and crossbow goes hard. I think a monster of the week style plot works for the earlier Zelda games, but an overarching plot could coexist with that since that is kinda how games work lol.

As per usual here are a bunch of slapdash barely related sketches of my ideas with my expanded thoughts below bc I think it'd be fun to share:

I look at the official art of Link being a quiet determined little dude with a backpack of tools and wish that that was represented more. Like look at him! What a guy! Imagine giving a quiet puzzle solving 14 year old a sword, lethal magical weapons, and a wasteland to explore! I would love a show about that! In terms of other characters, swap out that annoying fairy character, put in a Navi clone, at least Navi didn't have a crush on Link🤮. Ganon can stay the same so long as he was always a demon pig and was never a Gerudo man because unlike Nintendo, I do not want to imply that the only prominent man of color in the series has only one big braincell thats just screaming "EVIL" on loop. But! Keep Zelda the same, I love her so much in the cartoon, she's obnoxious in a slay girlboss way, maximum vibes. By virtue of not having a paper thin plot, most other characters that were fine get fixed by proxy.

I think plot wise? It takes place a few years after the first game. Initially, Link saved the royal family and they started rebuilding that area of Hyrule, and Link traveled around to help people. One day, Ganon's minions start making attacks on the castle to steal the triforce pieces back to revive him fully, and a Zelda who greatly admires Links steps up to defend the place. Eventually, Zelda requests Link return to help defend the castle while they search for the mysterious hidden third triforce piece in order to combine the full thing and wish for peace in Hyrule. Link agrees and the hyjinks begin.

IIRC the og Link backstory was that he was the son of the hyrulean queen and the elf king or smth? In the manga? I didn't want him to be hylian royalty but I wanted to keep that cryptid vibe, hence why I have him related instead to the great fairy and the kokiri. He just leaves the forest/cave one day with literally nothing to go save Hyrule, what a chad. I think it'd be funny if people describe Zelda as feral due to how boisterous and headstrong she is, especially out on the field, but Link is the quiet version of wild that you don't notice at first. She is openly intelligent and snarky in comparison to "says 3 lines a day, bombs first and asks questions later, explore under every rock and bush" forest kid Link.

It would be fun though if "rushes into danger" Zelda resonated more with the triforce of power and "solves dungeon puzzles for funsies" Link with the triforce of wisdom, then they both resonated with the triforce of courage upon finding it. idk tho lol

I also think two different young Zeldas coexisting with each other after one awoke from a cursed slumber would be really funny. Like that's gotta be so awkward, especially if one has the fighter girlboss slay up to 11 and the other just woke up from a coma to her family gone and her kingdom destroyed and just kinda wants to read books and drink tea in peace. Imagine being the same age or older than your great (great?) aunt. Or imagine if the old lady Impa nursemaid to Zelda 1 Zelda was the young Impa nursemaid to the Zelda 2 Zelda. Wild.

If I wasn't incapable of remembering to finish writing wips I'd write that series lol. Alas, this is all I can pull for now.

I'd love to call this propaganda to go watch the show but maybe don't because its yikes. This is moreso propaganda for someone to make a Zelda cartoon show instead of the movie that I sense Nintendo is plotting to make. Also, if you've read this far, I should mention I also will probably be posting art from some of my actual long term Zelda aus beyond just expanding on the cartoon, though I may continue to do that if my train of thought continues on these tracks.

I decided to play a game of Rimworld on the mechinator start, I wanted to try the robot minion mechanic out so whatever, sure. You start with one character and 2 robots in this scenario. I spawn into a temperate forest, start building a shelter, all the standard stuff.

First pop up/event of the game comes up. The ONLY character in the colony immediately gets Malaria. And has 0 medical skill. I have her use medicine to treat it anyway and it looks like she will live, the immunity is progressing faster than the disease. Cool.

A few minutes pass and I get the second event of the game. Now she ALSO has the fucking Plague. Keep in mind I'm still on the first day of the game. This is some insanely bad luck, diseases almost never spawn right away. This is not good. I tend the Plague, too, but it's progressing much faster than the Malaria.

Long story short, after a point she collapses. Because she's incapacitated, she can't use medicine. and since she is the only pawn in this colony, and neither of her robots can rescue her, she lays there and dies of the Plague. Or maybe the Malaria. I get a game over notice, but opt to keep the map running.

Events spawn in, some people crash in a shuttle, and with no one to rescue them, bleed out and die. A pack of manhunting guinea pigs spawn in, scream for a few days, then leave. With their master dead the robots go feral and join a mechanical hivemind. I wait for a while watching random events play out. FINALLY, a new pawn wanders onto the map, and I can play as him.

Fuck it, I'll keep the game going.

Meet Thamas. His backstory is he's some dude's spare clone that escaped by joining the military, which he then deserted. He's not terribly smart, or good at anything but planting stuff and punching stuff, but he's got the spirit. He hauls out the rotting corpse of my starter character, whose name I no longer remember, and takes over the ruins of her base.

Thamas is horrible at construction, but construct he must. He fails often. When he doesn't fail, he builds awful quality furniture. Thamas also sucks at cooking, but cook he must, or he will starve. By some miracle he only gets food poisoning one time.

Two and a half seasons pass and winter is approaching. I have a stable supply of potatoes but Thamas, who is bad at construction, can't build any temperature control items. So there's the distinct possibility of frostbite if I can't get enough firewood, and I can't refrigerate the potatoes so they might rot.

Sometimes we get attacked but Thamas punches everyone to death and hasn't been downed yet (an instant wipe, in this situation). A feral cat bites off his pinky finger. He manages to capture one raider and to try and recruit him, because at this point I'm desperate for someone to do even just basic stuff so Thamas can catch a break.

It's going OK, but it will take a while to recruit this guy and I'm one bad raid or manhunter pack away from a wipe. That's when I get it. THE event.

A notification pops up. Someone's shuttle crashes LITERALLY right next to Thamas' shoddy house. Cool! Her name is Midori, and she will immediately join the colony if I rescue her. Great! But she has paralytic abrasia for 30 days so can't move. Huh. Well. I'm probably gonna die soon anyway I might as well try and keep her alive.

Then I read it. The final line.

"Midori has a relationship with a colonist. She is Thamas' ex-wife."
