Some Things Aren’t How They Appear
Hawks x fem!Reader x Miruko
Warnings: a bit of spice, fluff, smidge of sadness but in reality it’s not it’s a happy bird
Summary: what the title says ;)
Tumblr media
!Not my photo!
It was so sudden, your lips colliding with hers and how that spark just absolutely expanded between the two of you. Hadn’t you had a husband this move would have been done sooner, knowing how she tasted and the smell of her minty lip balm. Just so damn smooth.
Gasping you pulled away, looking back at stars in her pupils and mouth hung open in shock. Shit. And when the attempt to pull away came she wouldn’t let you go, even as your own face paled and palms kicked at her chest to step back. “No- no I- I have a husband. Oh my god!”
“(y/n)-“
“No-“ shoving Miruko out of the way, you stumbled back. “I’m married!”
And in those scarlet starlight eyes a cloud came to shadow them, Miruko swallowing hard as her face contorted into something of heartbroken tenderness. The sweet sorrow of that she knew it too, that your life already belonged to someone else entirely, the one thing she couldn’t break. But you had pulled her in, and by no means did she deny.
The hero had known her feelings from the beginning, a year of seduction just to see you blush and fight the burning in your chest. Flirtatious jokes and small comments to her riding outfit, she couldn’t complain of the attention she received from you. Of course she saw the ring, the big diamond adoring your finger that shimmered and made her gut churn every time it caught light. The red that tinted the edges only reminded her that it was but her friend that you were sworn to.
“Keigo- he- oh fuck” you cursed, frantically looking around before you came back to her, melting over how her lips were still bruised from your assault. Fuck. Swallowing, finally your legs moved and you picked up your purse quickly, going over to the mirror to fix your tattered hair. Mirikonhad ran her hand through then viciously just as you pulled her in.
“(Y/n)-“
“No-“ you shook your head, forbidding her to speak. “It was my fault.”
“(Y/n)” her eyes found your lips again, moving slowly.
“Don’t-“ taking a deep shuddering breath, you held your head “don’t say my name like that. And god, don’t look at me like that.” You pleaded, pleaded. “We can’t- I can’t see you anymore, I’m sorry- I shouldn’t have.”
Everything in you sank, a dread so heavy every step felt burning. So when you opened the door, there was Hawks, smiling wide as he chirped a hello and kissed your cheek.
“Hey Miruko” he chimed, snaking a hand around your waist “mind if I steal her?”
It was only then the other hero made a move, shutting her mouth and standing straight, trying hard to slacken her shoulders as if nothing was wrong, as if she did not just let a married woman kiss her. “Of course”
Hawks was already on you once the door to the apartment shut, his fingers sliding up the sun dress that lay loose on your figure. It was rather long so you hadn’t bothered to wear shorts underneath. He definitely liked that.
“Kei-“ you tried, biting your lip as his lips met your neck and hand grazed up your thigh “keigo-“ he only hummed, not stopping his menstruations, but you held down. “Stop!” You finally said, and he froze.
“Birdie?”
Oh his eyes, his sweet sunflower eyes. “I…” suddenly tears came flooding, unable to help the overwhelming sensation of guilt “I’m so sorry!” And you pulled away, just as you did Miruko. Immediately his hands came to your cheeks and you shook your head no.
“What-hey…hey” he tried, but you just kept moving him away “stop-(y/n), what’s wrong?”
“I’m terrible, that’s what-“
“The hell-“
“I kissed Miruko!” And you slapped a hand over your mouth, eyes wide and tears blurring your vision so much that you were thankful you could barely see how his features contorted. “I’m- I know- I’ll leave, we can separate if you want- god I-“
“(Y/n)-“
“No- it’s okay- we’ll it’s not okay but- I mean, I understand if you don’t-“ and his hand wrapped around your wrist.
“I don’t care.”
And that had you frozen in place, eyebrows creased in utter confusion. “You…you don’t…” and you looked at him, betrayed. “I cheated on you! Cheated! You should be angry! Upset! Throwing things! Why aren’t you throwing things? Any normal person would have kicked me out!”
And he took your arm even when you tried to let him do otherwise. Hawks turned your arm over, showing the written past. He thumbed the scar, “I’m not him. I’m not going to throw things. And no, I’m not upset. I would never hurt you.”
“But I hurt you” and tears again threatened to take hold, your jaw trembling.
“No you didn’t. I understand why you’d think that, any normal person would, but I’m not normal, and I’m not upset. I know you have feelings for her, the way you looked at her on our wedding day. Oh- don’t cry-“ but the dam had already broken, you felt terrible. He should be upset at you! And he was comforting you? “I’m not mad, I promise!”
“You’re dumb!”
He chuckled, holding you tight. “I’ve been in poly relationships before, it just…it’s not that I don’t care it’s just it doesn’t bother me. I know you love me, and I trust you. I’m open to anything, though I just don’t know how comfortable you are with it, dove.” He pulled away, moving your tear wet hair from sticking to your face. “I’d never hurt you like him, I’m not your Ex.”
“I know” you mumbled, grabbing his wrist as he held your face.
“You want me to call Miruko?”
“C-call her?” that had you straightening, eyes wide and cheeks red
He laughed, giving a smirk and ducking so his lips here just by your ear, a shiver wracking down your body. “I love seeing you so embarrassed” he purred, kissing your cheek. “I mean to clear things up, if you don’t want to, of course.”
“I-I w-well,” you shoved him away, “shit Keigo! You can’t just-“
“Flustered?”
“Yes! Stop it” you whined.
“I’ll set you guys up for a date~”
“D-date?” You held your cheeks, brain frazzled. Seriously, what the hell was happening?
“Yeah, at that really nice place you like? Oh!” He pulled out his phone, turning it to show you a restaurant. “Or this one? They have great miso soup.”
You were so confused. “Your scaring me. When do I expect the yelling to start?”
Smiling at you, he shook his head. “Never, Im just letting myself fangirl over the two of you fine ladies. Or…future girlfriend.” and he winked. “Wine! You both will need wine!” And he started toward the shared wine cellar.
“Why aren’t you screaming at me you damn bird?!” You yelled as he hopped down the stairs.

RUMI USAGIYAMA AS YOUR SISTER
WARNING: SPOILERS
She's definitely the competitive type of sister. She'll make almost everything a sibling competition.
She likes it when you either work out with her or help her work out.
After she gets injured, you'll constantly be by her side to make sure she's alright.
If you're a U.A student, she'll make sure to drop in every once in a while to make sure you're doing OK.
If you're a pro hero, then you're both a hero duo.
If you're quirkless, then she wouldn't love you any less. You're her sibling, and she loves you, quirk or no quirk.
She loves it when you pet her rabbit ears. It helps her calm down and relax.
Pranks. All the pranks. Nothing too big, though. Small things like a bucket of water to the face, stealing clothes, etc.
She can definitely tell when you're faking a smile. As such, she'll always be there when you need her.
Don't you dare get injured on her watch, because then you'll be receiving both comfort and a scolding from her.
Her favourite sibling activity is playing sports with you.
Welp, that's all on this one.

Horikoshi I see you out here teasing the Undercut/Sidecut Izuku crowd. I see that hit landing on our boys head from Shig, and I see where them green curls already got cut short.
It's time for some fanservice. I need more practice drawing hair styles especially with Izukus wild hair but I had a doodle dump:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I imagine that the doctors might butcher his hair a bit more to be able to address the gash on his head properly, but he has many a wonderful friend who would definitely help him out by styling that out afterwards. (For fun I imagined Ochako being the one in this doodle)
And of course...1. Izuku would still need to find Kacchan after everything and 2. KACCHAN WOULD NEED TO FIND HIM. and 3. It would be hilarious to see Katsuki react to Izukus hair(and he's honestly more worried by the scar)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Forgive my scrappy doodles but I just had to.
Horikoshi has an opportunity here to give Izuku a quick little makeover post war....like how Nejire and Miruko both got battle-related makeovers. I'm sure he'll have a scar bc hori is really good about keeping consistent with those injuries.

Whose more overprotective Rei or endeavor?
Hmm it's a tough question because Rei is delulu overprotective and I mean that she'll hurt you if it means that you're safe from whatever she considers a "threat". For example, she'd push you down the stairs if it means that you break a bone so that you don't get to go out and be possibly a victim of human trafficking.
Enji is more overprotective in the sense that he's not delusional, but more aware that the chances of you being human trafficked in a high posh area with good security is low... but never none. There's still a chance that u might be kidnapped by nasty men, so he'll be sure to send one of your self proclaimed godparents, Keigo and Miruko to patrol the area, maybe "coincidentally" bump into you and keep away all the suspicious people away from you (Keigo chooses to smooth talk his way to get you away from unwanted people, while Miruko just drop kicks them, saying something about mistaking them for being a notorious villain).
Usually, you're able to hang out with friends if Enji allows you to go and says he'll deal with Rei. He understands his wife's paranoia, but he also gets that you need to have some normalcy in life too.
It's a real cause for concern when they both agree on something, because then you can't make either of them budge and you only get double the overprotectiveness. For example, if they deem hanging out with Bakugo is not safe for you, then you'll either have Shotou accompany you EVERYWHERE to make sure you're not in contact with the blonde, Enji will have a tracker placed in your phone (he already had one in, but now he can also read your texts. Dw, he doesn't really get a lot of the slang), Rei might try to get Katsuki expelled from school or better yet, have you homeschooled! Dabi prefers to get rid of Katsuki once and for all, but he's far too busy spending time with you (only because he doesn't want you to spend time with Enji. It's totally not because he thinks you're his coolest and cutest sibling ever🙄)

Au where, instead of All Might, Mirko saves Midoriya from the Sludge Villain, and after seeing that there's a feral beast inside him waiting to be unleashed, decides to adopt mentor him.
Tumblr media
It wasn't All Might that was chasing after the Sludge Villain, it was Miruko. She happened to be in Mustafu at the time and ran after the Villain when he robbed the store. Since she doesn't have a time limit and does have sensory abilities, she was able to catch up to him in that tunnel and pull Midoriya to safety. Unfortunately, the Villain, being made of Sludge, escapes her.
Miruko makes sure that Midoriya is alright and then chases the Villain again, but loses him until he attacks Bakugou. You can imagine her surprise when she arrives on the scene to see that same kid charging in when the other Heroes aren't doing anything. So she Luna Falls the Sludge Villain in the eye for the KO, picks Midoriya up by the scruff, and leaves.
Midoriya is thrilled that Miruko wants to mentor him since she is one of his personal favorite Heroes. And then she offers to train him! Best day of his life! After all, Miruko's Quirk makes her better at fighting, but she doesn't use her Quirk to fight!
About a month or so into training, Miruko thinks, "Hey wait this scrappy little bastard would be great with OFA" and rings up Gran to get his opinion. They also have a fight because of course those two do.
Gran and Miruko have All Might come by to meet Midoriya without telling him that they think Midoriya is a good pick. All Might is impressed by his progress in training, but it's not until Miruko proudly recounts how they met that All Might comes to the same conclusion they did.
+1. Midoriya's costume is much more of a homage to Miruko's than it is to All Might's. The bunny ear hood is now very intentional.

Y'all gonna hate me and I don't want you to, I do not. But it annoys me sometimes how quick I see some people call a mangaka of a Shonen misogynistic for something and it's like... do you know what a misogynist is?
Like, I can see a mangaka being a misogynist for killing every female character and none of the male characters.
I can see it if the mangaka doesn't develop any of the female characters and give them all the same personality and/or design (like body shape).
But... uh...
When a mangaka kills off a female character it's "misogyny"?? But then the kill count the majority be males and people act as if it's illegal for a female character to die in a story. You know, some creators are actually afraid to kill off women and girls because they're afraid the crowd will call them misogynistic for it even though just like men and boys we are human and can die, too??
Sometimes the female character killed off is a minor one with no development because it's not like she was ever important to the story anyways. And guess what? We have had male characters the same way, too. It's not that she was killed off for being female. She's killed off because just like her male counterpart, she was written to die off anyways. She isn't important just like the guy. It's not misogyny. It's storytelling.
People are quick to say "misogyny" when a female character doesn't have a huge backstory or little development, but are the same ones who have all this energy to write multiple fics giving a male character who already has a damn backstory in canon all this development and whatnot. What if she is a female character who isn't the focus of the story anyways? Sometimes, it's not necessary to give every character a backstory because of the story. Use your imagination. Where's that energy? Where?
Y'all can't be seriously the same people who can write a bunch of analysis posts on a male character and not on a female one when she has just as much as development or even more than the male one and then call the creator a "misogynist". You know how many Miruko analysis posts I have been able to write?! Just by reading one line or looking at one scene?! So it's not even impossible to do so with just little development. You just don't care to do it. You don't have to, but come on.
And the fans of a female character can be just as bad because some of y'all can only call a female a girl boss and "she's so attractive" and are hush-hush about her other traits her creator did give her.
A lot of Maki fans like to go "she's so attractive, she's so girl boss" but I question sometimes if any of you remember her backstory and why she's attending the school. Or do you just like her for being attractive?
Some of you were mad because she was sidelined for most of this arc as if she didn't get a whole arc to herself involving the Zenin clan. Hell, I say she got a lot more screen time than characters like Toge who we haven't seen in how long? Hell, we didn't get much with Noritoshi with his clan like that.
Also, uh, there are other characters? Like, I wasn't aware Gege have to stick to just writing one character. I wasn't aware, why no one told me. I thought when there's multiple characters you would want to write them all having some bit of screen time. My bad, I was mistaken.
For real, and I know someone will disagree and if you do, I honestly don't care. But compared to someone like Yuta, Maki feels more like a human character and not an accessory. She has been hyped as a character since chapter one. Megumi name drops her when comparing Yuji to her. Right there should have been a clue that Maki was gonna be a big character in some way.
Oh! And it's also "misogyny" if a female character is a villain or unlikable even though some of you yell "we need more complex female characters".
It's like with a character like Mei Mei. I already made a post about it, but I'll say it again. You say you want a complex female character, Mei Mei comes along and you want her to die. But there's been a lot worse male characters and you folks be drooling.
It's not that you want a complex female character because a story needs it. You want one so you have a female character to bully and hate on while you make heart eyes at and hype up the male one.
A mangaka isn't the misogynistic one for writing a female character like that, but it does feel misogynistic to act as if she shouldn't exist and be so quick to go "He's my husband" to the worse character in existence who is male.
And honestly, I don't see why any of you want more complex female characters like that to bully and hate on when you do it already to the less complex and/or good ones.
A mangaka is apparently "misogynistic" for not showing a female character for one chapter, but you don't even vote for her in popularity polls. Stop it now.
I think about how some of you complain about how Ochako is written and call Horikoshi misogynistic for it, but you folks be the same ones who can only seem to bring up her "crush" on Izuku even though she has been shown to have other capabilites and traits way before that moment.
Look, just say you don't like the writing. Sometimes, the writing can be a little wonky for male characters, but I don't see any name calling for that.
Overall, my point is learn when to say when a creator is a misogynist. A creator will deliver what you complain a female character is lacking and you ignore it and then claim "misogyny" if something bad happens like a female character dying. It's fair game, folks, in a story for female characters to get the same treatment as the male ones. It's not because of her gender, it's because she is a character. She just happens to be female.
If you don't like the writing, it's cool not to. No one is forcing you to. Sometimes, the writing does just suck. But it's just extreme as hell to claim it's misogynistic if it's not going the way you want to.
It's just annoying doing it when it comes to Shonen, especially nowadays where some of the mangakas actually have better female characters than years prior. Sometimes, the creators aren't afraid to treat the female characters like they're actual characters to the story.
There's going to be a lot of focus on male characters. There's going to be more developed male characters. But that doesn't mean there aren't female ones. There's going to be more male characters.
All this works in reverse with SHOJO.
At this point, watch that. But don't be that same person to complain about "so many female characters" or "underdeveloped male characters". Or probably you won't because will you see those creators as bad people the same way you do for people of Shonen? Or this is just a case where "It's okay anyways, he's male".
It is just astonishing that the same people who will call a mangaka a "misogynist" are the same people who actually don't really give a damn about female characters. Like, you either don't even have a female character you like and find all the male ones hot. Or if you do, you still don't really give a damn about her story and just like her for being attractive and a badass.
And it can't be "her writing sucks" or "she's terrible".
If you can like the blandest male characters and ones who have actually assaulted others, then it shouldn't be problem with female ones, right?
Just... stop throwing "misogyny" around especially over some damn fiction. Yes, a mangaka any one, any creator is capable of being a misogynist.
But y'all say it so much you're just muddling the word. There are cases where it applies, just not all the damn time!! There's more serious cases where the word "misogyny" applies. Like, real life issues.
It's going in the "overused and lost all meaning" word basket with words like "queerbait" and "toxic".

You made me realize smth on my fic "Redestro the matchmaker" if Mirko is BK with boobs shouldn't she be less popular?
Then again in the smash...it is said Mt. Lady has fans who do have a fetish with her ...which serves to excuse the destruction she causes. Not gone lie, this is way realistic "hot lady can do whatever" so maybe the same logic could apply to Mirko.
Mirko is a hot woman. A hot basin woman so ...her personality and bkness can be "forgive"
But what about Endy and Aizawa? Are they handsome? Sure. Thanks for that Hori😒 but the pretty people privilige works for men too?
Endy's crimes are ignored in favour of war (which makes total sense. No one, admist many murderous villains, will send Endy who is a power house away) but Aizawa's crime is so entirely open and...who says otherwise is a meanie (looking at Monoma with pity. Yes he said bk suck but for sure he said similar to Aizawa)
I think those heroes should be highly unpopular.
Hi @mikeellee 👋,
Miruko is an interesting case.
Among other heroes - yes she should be less popular. Her behavior would not endear her to her peers (she thinks lesser of teamwork and openly expresses this imagine what she says about 'hero teams' to their faces.) There's also the way she's constantly itching to beat someone up which would also put people off her.
However, among fans she's a hot basin woman who is strong and not afraid to show that. She would be seen as a "feminist Icon" and horny teenage boys would love her (as a literal and fierce bunny girl I can see her being the subject of many a horny fanfic in the MHA universe.)
Then there's the other main two you mentioned: yes pretty privilege is a thing and Endeav and Aiz are pretty that earns them some points.
The reasoning for not putting away Endeav for child abuse does sadly make sense as they are in a time of war and need all heavy hitters on deck. (This would have been solved if Dabi had been allowed to kill him but you know... Hori can't have that. 😒) Endeav should also be a lot less popular because of this and in general he's a lot like Bakugou in his anti social demeanor and wish to be the Best. He's also an ass to his fans as his interaction with mini Inasa showed which earns him no points.
Aizawa as a hero is shown to be decent and his quirk is obviously invaluable to the heroes.
But he should be hated by his ex-pupils and their families for ruining thier futures for petty reasons. Realistically, he (and Nedzu) also should be drowning in so much legal paperwork because of his fucked up teaching and 'fake' expulsions that he and Nedzu both become broke.
Can you imagine the outcry if a prestigious university in real life did this and hired someone like Aizawa? The outcry would be MASSIVE and that university would be defunct in no time.
Therefore, realism has no place in MHA when it comes to Hori's faves.
