“Do you think we fell in love in every universe?” 

The question fell from your lips on a rainy afternoon, one where neither you nor your husband Jaewook had any plans to go anywhere. You liked those days the best. Nothing was better than sitting on the couch together and drinking coffee or reading together. You liked almost every activity when you were doing it with him.

He turned to you upon hearing the question, thinking about it for a few seconds before his lips upturned in a smile and the dimple you adored so much appeared on his cheek.

“I hope we did. No one could ever come close to you… at least for me.” Jaewook’s face held nothing but sincerity and love. You swore his eyes were practically overflowing with devotion for you. You’d never been more in love with him than these small moments. 

You reached over for his left hand, clasping it with both of your smaller ones. Your finger brushed over his gold wedding band, the cool smooth feeling of the metal beneath your fingers holding the everlasting promise to love and cherish each other to death. 

You had often been skeptical of love growing up. You knew firsthand that it was rarely all sunshine and rainbows. And even after meeting Jaewook, it wasn’t. You had your fair share of disagreements and fights. You both had ways of pissing the other off, but you always made up in the end. 

Loving each other was more of a choice for both of you, and so you tried your very best to show it every day. Some days it was easier than others, and that day, it felt like the love you shared was too much to be contained in your small living room. It felt like it needed to burst away from the confined space and fly out into the open air— it just kept growing the longer you held eye contact with Jaewook.

“Among all the choices I’ve ever made in my life, I’ve regretted a lot of them. But I’ll never regret choosing to marry you.” You confessed, holding on to the soft intimate moment you had created for just a few minutes longer. Moments like these didn’t happen often. In July, I started to intentionally read/reblog a lot more, resulting in an 80% decrease in my own posts.

One interesting takeaway I have in comparing the years is that while the amount I wrote/posted decreased (almost halved), the amount of interaction I received in replies and reblogs increased (about a third). Overall notes were still lower due to decreased likes, but I received more meaningful notes across fewer posts... that's pretty awesome!

✨ Personal Favorites:

Take Me Out one shot/fic exchange... This was a story concept I had in mind for a long time and finally got an opportunity to breathe it to life with a fic exchange event. I just love it so much.

Ready or Not one shot... I feel kinda sappy over this fic. It's a little different in tone, and it's one of the few endings I've written that I actually love (I struggle to end one shots, IDK why).

Drabbles... I wrote more short stories and blurbs this year, and they were a lot of fun! Especially The Presence of Absence, made myself cry on that one.

Virgin!reader choose-your-own-one shot... Writing three smutty one shots all at once was a tough challenge. I'm proud of the work I put into filling this prompt, even if the stories didn't get much love from others.

My reading challenge... Seeing so many complaints from the lack of interaction on people's writings got me thinking about my own role in the fandom. It didn't feel right for me to bemoan low reblogs on my stories when I myself never bothered to reblog from others. So I created a little system and got to reading! As a result, I feel more connected to a community and cherish the comments I do get rather than the ones I don't.

And with that, I say au revoir to 2024 and bonne année to 2025 ☀️ I have some lofty ideas for what I want to do with my blog this year. If I can just keep a handle on my depression this time around. 🤞

It might not be much of a difference in the word count since my last update, but that's because I've been doing a second draft of what I have so far for Chapter 2.

I think I stated somewhere that I was focusing on making the writing flow from Chapter 1 to 2 since I did a different method of cobbling together the story on 2, and please don't be mad at me, but because I've become more comfortable with writing in a mid-1700s dialect, I chose to edit Chapter 1 again to reflect that. The content is mostly the same, but the wording isn't.

Created a trello board to actually keep track of my progress and what has already been edited so I can really drive home to myself that I need to go forward and not constantly alter what has already been worked on.

notes: so this was a request i decided to take way before quarantine even started, although i did say that i don’t know when i’ll get to it...but i finally did! i had to tweak it because i have no idea about what happens during pregnancy/birth/first baby...but i will learn if ever there’s a next time

Sonny always knew he would be a father one day. He just never expected that it would come so soon. But who’s complaining? Certainly not him. In fact, he’s very ecstatic about it. He would come home to his wife, his pregnant wife, and lay with her on the bed, caressing her baby bump and doing all the husband duties, including getting her anything she craved for, no matter how out of this world it was. But thankfully, the most far-stretched one he had done was to go to the convenience store to buy a sloppy joe at two o’clock in the morning.

When he arrived home that day, you were wiping the kitchen counter as you had spilled milk all over it. As soon as he saw you, he dropped his belongings and snatched the cloth from you. You backed away and watched with a small frown on your face.

“I’m very capable of wiping the counter myself, Sonny.”

“I’m here, you don’t have to do things yourself. You’ve been staying home all day, probably walking around to grab some food or head to the bathroom. Let me help around while I’m at home.”

You rolled your eyes, the frown never leaving your lips. “I just spilled some milk, nothing to worry about.”

Sonny had been so handy around the house, you would admit. But it sometimes irritated you when you knew you could do something yourself. Like wiping the counter, that was something you could have easily done. Sure, you were a little tired from making all the different kinds of food that you wanted, but that didn’t mean you weren’t capable of the simple task.

Once he had finished, he looked around and his jaw dropped. “What have you been doing, y/n?”

Pursing your lips, you looked around the kitchen and felt a little embarrassed. “I was just trying to find the right recipe.”

“For what?”

“I don’t know,” you answered. “I was just craving for something, I wasn’t so sure what.”

Sonny sighed. “Why don’t you go and rest, I’ll handle this for tonight.”

You stuck up your nose and squared your shoulders. “I can do this, too, you know.”

“Sweetheart, your feet are swollen.”

“I can still walk.” Though, you couldn’t help yourself feel a little tired from all the walking. “I’m pregnant, doesn’t mean I’m not capable of washing dishes.”

“We’re in our ninth month, you could give birth anytime.”

Although you were trying to keep a straight face, you couldn’t help but smile when he said “we” rather than “you”. You looked into his eyes and began to feel the admiration for the day. There was always something you admired about every day. You adored him, but there were always small gestures or he’d say the right words that just crept up your skin. This would be the one for today.

He seemed confused. “What’s wrong?”

Shaking your head, you said, “Nothing. Just...you really love me.”

He cocked his head and raised an eyebrow. “Of course I really love you, y/n. You know that.”

You nodded. “Right, right, of course.” With a huff, you turned to the side and walked to the sink. “Well, we gotta start if we want to end.”

The rest of the evening was quiet as you both squeaked and scrubbed the kitchen and dishes clean. Once done, you took turns in the shower then lay on the bed. You sighed as your feet began to hurt and your body ached. You didn’t want to give Sonny any hint that you were in a bit of pain for he would worry a bit too much, and besides, this was normal.

Sonny sighed beside you and placed an arm on his forehead. “What a day.”

You swallowed. “Rough one, huh?”

“Kinda, yeah.”

And he proceeded to tell you cases after cases. You worried for him, how he’s been overworking himself. Sometimes, you’d see him working late nights until the wee early mornings. You also knew that he wouldn’t sleep from time to time; at first, you’d talk to him about it, then your voice raised, and then, once you were in the later stages of the pregnancy, you decided that stressing yourself out would lead to many regrets. So you let him be. Fortunately, he’s been doing that less and less. Perhaps he’d learn a new strategy. Anyway, you were just glad that he got even just an hour of sleep.

There were times wherein you couldn’t deny that you wanted to spend more time with your husband. Yes, you knew he had to work to keep you guys up on your feet, not that you weren’t comfortable enough, but you also realized that you have been spending less and less time together. And that sucked big time.

“Babe?”

You blinked a few times and realized that Sonny had been staring at you with worry in his eyes. He was now on his side, facing you. “Yes?”

“Are you okay?”

“Yes, of course. Why wouldn’t I be?”

“I don’t think you were listening to me,” he said, sounding a little hurt. “Is there anything wrong that I should know about?”

“No, no,” you assured him. “Everything’s doing fine. I mean, everything’s well and I’m doing fine. I just...miss the days when we could spend more time together.” Sonny opened his mouth but you continued. “I know you have work, and I know that’s important to you, but...you know, right?”

He gave a soft smile before placing a hand on your belly. “I know. Why not we go on a date during the weekend?”

You couldn’t hide the joy that you felt, it was also very evident on your face. “Really?”

He nodded. “Yeah, I’m sure it’ll be a good break for both of us.”

“For you most especially,” you said as you put a hand on top of his. “You definitely need a break.”

“A well-deserved break, if I might add,” he said, sighing. “I’ve been working way too damn much.”

“Glad you noticed,” you muttered.

Sonny smirked and leaned forward to give you a lingering kiss.

“That was nice,” you said when he pulled away. “I want another one.”

“Your wish is my command,” he said with a chuckle. He leaned forward again and gave you another kiss, this time softer and longer. When you parted, he asked, “How was that?”

“Like I was in Cloud Nine,” you replied, as your lips quirked to the side.

He laughed. “You’re exaggerating.” He lay back on the bed, bringing back his arm up, retreating to his initial position. “Is Saturday okay?”

“Saturday would be great.”

The week passed by and Saturday finally arrived. Sonny had to head out during the morning. He promised he’d be back soon and just had to take a trip to the office to retrieve some papers. Although you were skeptical, he kept his word and returned no more than two hours later.

When you were both ready, you grabbed your bag, and headed out, excited for that day that awaited you two.

From strolling in the park, to lunch at a little café, a comedy movie, topped off with a dinner at a lovely restaurant, you couldn’t ask for any other perfect day.

Sonny had known what you wanted even without you telling him. ‘It’s the detective in him,’ you thought.

You began eating your meal. He ordered the finest champagne they had and you smirked. When he noticed, he cocked his head. “What?”

“You’re being...mm,” you paused, trying to form the thought in your head.

“Romantic?” he supplied with a cheeky grin.

“No, that’s not the word,” you replied, shaking your head. “Though you are,” you assured him. “But it’s not the word I’m looking for.”

“Well don’t leave me hanging, sweetheart,” he said.

You pouted and squinted your eyes. “Yourself.”

“Myself?” he wondered, visibly confused.

“Yeah.” You tucked a few strands of your hair behind your ear. “It’s been a while since you let loose. I missed that. I missed you.”

He smiled softly. “I’m right here, y/n. And I’m never leaving you. I’m not leaving our baby either. I promise. I’ll always be by your side. Beck and call, I promise.”

You smiled at him. “Thank you, for everything you’ve done for me. For us.” You placed a hand on your belly and rubbed it slowly. “This baby will grow up having an amazing father by her side.”

“As well as a wonderful mother on the other side,” he said with a chuckle.

“I’ll take that.” You laughed along.

He leaned forward, kissed you, and murmured a few “I love you’s”. You separated for air before giving each other a peck. “I want to show you just how much I love you and our baby with all my heart.”

You cupped her face with hour hands, kissed him, and murmured, “I think my water just broke.”

I’ve only just started the first chapter of sbiverse (I’ve been keeping up with your art and asks since the start tho) and 1) your writing is absolutely fucking gorgeous and 2) it reminds me of the writing style in good omens (which I’m also (re)reading rn) a little bit! 3- worship & a misc enironment sketch

Warmups for today. I may finish up kiss drawing but who knows, time? motivation? We will see. Been practicing enviros so I can get better at it. Perspective has always been my weak point so I will keep practicing.

Something I missed from Tumblr after being on Twitter for a long time is that I when i wanted to write a little background on my illustrations or concepts, character limit and the unsightliness of a bigass thread kept me from it. And also a general shyness about my writing, but here it's easy to just write and not care if people care to read or not because of the read more cut. I want to be more comfortable sharing my ideas and not being embarrassed because it sounds dumb or whatever. :') And also my ideas morph and change all the time so it's nice to like... just have a record of what I've thought of rather than keep them in my little noggin.

Worship for the kiss challenge was a fun thing to portray. Sarsenbi isn't a god, but deeply devoted to his Goddess, the goddess of fate and divinity. He is her oracle, who once heeded her every word. He might have relied too much on her, but now struggles between the duties that his village expects of him to and what he wants. Mallow on the other hand does not believe in gods or fate, he's serious, stern and had always been set on the path to lead his clan. Since meeting Sarsenbi, he does't know anymore. The future is unclear, but they cherish all the small moments that they can manage, finding comfort in just being themselves, and not an oracle of the goddess or the next to lead his people.

when i first made this account in 2020, i was a continent away from home, experiencing one of the harshest lockdown in the world, and struggling to survive my master's studies. watching digimon was one of my solitude, so i decided to jump into the community while channeling my hobby of writing and designing. you know i was never a consistent poster (and had gone m.i.a. too often lol) so i didn’t expect 1k followers. but despite the numbers, the most important thing is i feel welcomed in this old-but-gold community. i also make friends and i hope to cherish this friendship even though maybe later on i will be no longer active on tumblr.
