I've been playing basketball for almost a year now. My left hand lay ups are not very pretty but I'm working on it. It's pretty tough transitioning from being a netball player, where you are not allowed to dribble. #Repost @mishinfit ・・・ Cheeky Wednesdays 😉 One of my motivations to keep training and to keep my eating as clean as possible is to avoid feeling insecure out on the beach. I don't want to feel like I need to wear a cover up. I want to be able to run and jump around playing bat and ball without being concerned with people seeing parts of my body I'm ashamed of. Doing fun things and not worrying about how you look. Before I started weight training and eating clean I used to feel so uncomfortable in a bikini, constantly shifting my bikini to make sure it's covering what I wanted to cover or trying to sit/ stand in a flattering position, not anymore. This is what carefree means to me. I want you to have that carefree feeling too, because no one should feel ashamed of their body. You know what day it is today! Happy 🍑 day! The gluteus are the hardest body part to tone up for women because we have estrogen pockets mainly around our gluteus and triceps. Most women have hormone imbalances as a result of the pill, alcohol, certain foods and even pollution to name a few. Our bodies hold onto estrogen a lot more than in the male body and we generally don't have a high level of testosterone that counters the affects of estrogen on the body. We have good estrogen which makes our skin glow and reproductive organs work properly and then bad estrogen which increases fat storage and cellulite. While we should all attempt to minimize the bad estrogen sources to our body(limit alcohol, the pill if possible, fast foods and too much coffee) we can also eat certain foods that help to eliminate bad estrogen. Cruciferous vegetables are your best friend in this regard. Broccoli is my favorite cruciferous vegetable for this and I try to eat some everyday, as boring as it gets, it is really beneficial. Being dehydrated also has a major impact on female hormones so be sure to drink as much water as possible. Then training your booty in the right way will build muscle, tighten the skin around your new muscle and reduce body fat by increasing your basil metabolic rate with the added muscle. Remember there are people that can only dream of having a body like yours, a body with all 4 limbs, a body that can walk and move correctly. Sometimes I just want to lie on the couch and do nothing and that's fine occasionally, especially if you have a tough week of work, but most of the time I try to do things that are active and outdoors because I feel lucky to have a body that works and I don't want to take it for granted. It's important to make your body strong to be able to do fun things without getting injured. Working out is not just for the aesthetics.
