#missing videos

Not to stir up drama or have people questioning my music tastes, but fuck it, I have questions that need answers.

I’ve got a playlist on youtube of 400+ songs that I like to listen to, mainly to have in the background as I do various things that would otherwise be silent. I also keep an excel file where I write down the videos because if one gets deleted or taken down or made private or unwatchable in my country, it won’t say what the title was.

Well my music taste is weird, mainly remixes or memey songs or mashups, and one of those has been acting weird where it gives the :/ thumbnail but you click it and it’s fine, so I checked if it would play. It would not, and instead it had no message for it being gone or there being an error, only this:

So I went to my list to look it up and the video in question is the youtube rewind 2015 (arguably the best and before they almost gave some yt’ers hypothermia and started them with celebrities and whatnot)

if you google the rewinds, google will still give them as results, but all of them give you this same image. and it’s probably not just an error since the thumbnail was the :/ . I last checked my document September 28th and now it’s November 14th, so this is also recent.

My question is, is youtube trying to pretend they never existed my removing them this weird way, or did something happen for them to do it now, or something else entirely? for half a second as the page was loading i did see an actual error message, but it was just a playback one and disappeared a moment later.

I’m now wonder if they’ve done this with other videos to sweep controversial videos of vids related to them under the rug, or what. idk, maybe i sound like a conspiracy theorist or maybe i’m the only one who cares. I’m just a lil confused and kinda want answers.
