I made this over the span of like two days overall and I spent an entire day doing almost nothing else except working on it to the point I gave myself a headache lmao. However, I am happy with how it came out! It's a bit janky in some places but I just... Not enough for me to want to fix it rn I'm done with this lol

I've toyed with animation here and there over the years but rarely do I make anything substantial, so I am happy this turned out as good as it did. Though I also just find Jenny fun to draw, so that probably helped

Oooh, I see you've tried out the 'official' 2D style! Replicated it pretty well, reminds me of some of the storyboards from the show too.

yes! those where the main inspo for the style! to be fair looking at all of the comic art, production art and storyboards. the 2d style is very inconsistent, so i took what i liked and ran with it.

i will say these specific pieces of work were some inspo with how i drew jimmy

also that the style of the first 2 heavily looked like a kinda bones (the graphic novels) and chuck jones style so i kept that in mind as well while doing it.

all i wanted is to keep jimmy looking cute and have his baby face (cause he 100% does).

( edit here but ignore what i described the jn style ass i’m just stupid and don’t know cartoon history, the style is totally more 1940/50s richie rich comics, harvey comics and loony tunes style)

it also made me appreciate the show style a lot, it really is very wacky and silly even when ppl think it as "realistic" only because it's 3d. id say the 2d style (i think they were going for at least) was a western cartoon 1990s kinda loony tunes, kinda disney(?) style. which i love a lot! cause it adds to that shows just main "retro" aesthetic, lives in a town literally called retroville. it also adds more with the other show characters, cause mlaatr is deffo more like 1950/60s style, fop and dp is VERY 2000s style.

i will say i do need to practice more in that jimmy neutron 2d style. i just wish i could find more art of the character design of jimmy neutron (thats not the pilot stuff). i want to assume they have 2d sketched before they made it 3d. and i want those so baddd

more of my yapping about nicktoons unite gang

i really love the main 4 and in my brain they are literally so found family to me. i wanna add manny and jenny more with them but if im being honest i characterize them as like the 2 kinda side friends to the main friend group. they have their own shit going on and their own friend groups but if the main 4 need a extra 2 (or extra help in a fight) they gonna come in swinging.

i honestly hc jenny being closer friends with jazz, or at least they hang out casually more often then the main 4. i add jazz a lot with my own personal hcs cause i love her a lot.

the thing with using all of these universes and thinking of them all dimension hopping all the time is that theres SO MANY characters to work with. i always try to make myself think of how every single main or side character will act or have a relationship with every other main or side character but i just think that will make me go insane. (remember elijah its ok to be hyperfixated on something and not know everything about it....)

like, attack of the toybox has catscratch, ren n stimpy, rocko, and tak. i never watched those shows and i don't care to add them in with my hcs cause just bluntly, i like the others more lol. never watched catscratch and i dont here anything good about it, also with tak. i honestly don't want to use anything from ren n stimpy cause gross fuck the creator. i'd honestly THINK about using some rocko characters ngl it looks like a good show i just never got to watching it.

all i care about at the moment is jn, dp, fop, sbsp, mlaatr, el tigre, and iz. and even Then all of these shows have so many characters and so many eps (holy shit fop and sbsp). i just wanna vibe with my hcs of my little guys that i love
