Why hello everyone! This is my brand new studyblr! (And third or fourth introduction.) I’m originally @mystic-musicblr​, which was my sideblog, but I’ve decided to move my studyblr into a separate blog so I can do a bit more with the blog. I also apologize for tumblr destroying the quality of my banner that isn’t the best, it looks better trust me. Tumblr just sucks. 

Anyway, onto the introduction!

✨Lil about/basics ✨

✨I’m Hayden (they/them, but if you refer to me as she/her I don’t care. I’m not too picky)

✨I’m an only child, a Cancer (♋️) and left handed. So I understand the struggle of writing and trying to write on the iPad (digital notes are so hard 😭)

✨ I play 4 instruments - violin, viola, clarinet, and bass clarinet. 

✨ I love to draw a lot. My icon is the start of an old piece I did last year, but never got around to finishing it, so it’s temporary for right now. 

🎻University info🎻

🎻 I’m a sophomore this upcoming year first generation student and an alternate resident assistance for the 2020-2021 year.

🎻 My major is music industry, with my emphasizes/area in multi-instrumental that I’m struggling to change to applied for violin (really wish I could do viola but it’s out of my hands for now as I don’t have a viola)

🎻 This upcoming semester I’m not overloading myself too much with classes, only with 16 credits, so I won’t die under the pressure of what I did this past semester (spring 2020) with 18 credits 😅😭. Though thanks to switching to online classes, I actually passed my spring semester that greatly brought my GPA up so I was happy and proud of myself for being able to do 18 credits despite the transition into having more online classes. Plus, three of my classes are online this semester (WVU is making a lot of classes hybrid and/or fully online since they are limiting sizes in classrooms to make sure we don’t spread COVID-19 around.), so I should be good. 

🎻I really wish I could minor in French or History, yet I can’t really afford it, don’t have time, or room to do it, which really sucks. The arts do take up a lot of your time and to people who can do double majors or minors in certain majors that demand a lot, you get major props. Maybe one day when I do graduate I’ll minor in French or History. 

🎻 I’m a member of my universities student run record label and it’s pretty great. 

🌼Studyblr/Uni goals for this year🌼

🌼 Be active on here, whether school is still online or in class

🌼 Not focus too much on the aesthetic demands of studyblr. I feel like that really hinders me posting a lot and frankly I believe that the aesthetic demands of studyblr really bring down the community next to multiple factors I could explain in a long post or video. 

🌼Be able to priorities my classes and work in between RA work and having fun. 

🌼Have fun. Literally. 

🌼Start a queue on here for reblogged post and make original content more frequently.

🌼Join and create challenges 

🌼Create more personal goals for myself 

🌼Create more art! I actually am going to try to do YouTube this summer since I need to work on my editing skills and I want to draw and do music more, so that will help with all of that. Along with creating fun videos here and here while making some videos critiquing stuff I like.

THE INTRO

Hello everyone! New studyblr here. I’ve been lurking in the shadows of the studyblr community for a very long time now. But it is not until recently that I finally mustered enough courage to join this amazing community. So without further ado, here is my introduction:

Basics:

I go by Audrey (she/her pronouns)

(Almost) 20 and Aries, but don’t really feel like either

INFP, though some people have told me that I could be quite cynical

I’m in my second year in university

I’m a Biochemistry major, wanting to live in a lab forever (ooh look it rhymes!)

I’m currently on an internship but still trying to learn some basic French in my free time

Interests:

Absolutely love reading: I have an undying love for poetry, no matter the type. Currently, I’m trying to finish  “New American Best Friend” by Olivia Gatwood.

Fancy (sounding) words: yup pretentious I know, but something about them is so addicting to me. I only speak 2 languages so far and always find myself drawn to words that are on the more grandiose side of both languages I’m so sorry please bear with me 

Psychology, and the biology aspects of it: I’m currently trying to learn more about serotonin syndrome and the portrayal of psychiatric medications books/movies for young adults.

A cinephile (fancy word count no.1): I love movies/ series as well as video essays analyzing cinematography, scriptwriting, and characters. Recently, I’ve been binging Euphoria (pure perfection!) and Fruit Basket (this anime turns me into a crying mess every time).

A melophile as well (fwc no.2): I listen to almost anything and am always eager to discover new music. But no matter what, I will always have a soft spot for the pop-punk bands I grew up with. I also enjoy making playlists for different moods, learning about people through their music (here’s my Spotify if you’re up for sharing music), and watching analysis videos on the anatomy of songs

I think I just love analysis videos in general?

Creating artsy stuff (sketches, music, poems, etc): aka my coping mechanisms. I probably enjoy writing the most but somehow the majority of my works are sadly unfinished.

Coding: I’m self-taught so I ain’t that good. But personally, I find it really fun and would love to learn and challenge myself more with it.

Goals:

To motivate myself out of the procrastination quicksand

To keep track of my study and productivity progress 

To have a place to review/ modify my study techniques and habits and better my efficiency

To be more involved in this lovely studyblr community and hopefully motivate others too

To make more friends, through studying as well as music

hi! i’ve been around here for a little while, and i want to introduce myself.

about me... 

my name is maddy (she/her)

i'm a rising high school american senior

interests

i love watching movies! i adore a24 films and other ~prestigious~ edgy film-student films, especially foreign films. my favorites are the emperor's new groove, arrival, mustang (turkish), and the farewell

learning languages. i'm studying japanese and spanish in school, and i had a brief stint in self-studying arabic. in the future, i want to try arabic (again lol), french, and italian

my favorite subjects to study are history, english, and languages. i hope to study international relations in college and combine my love of international politics, regional histories, and languages!

i adore podcasts and listening to music. please recommend me your songs! (im so uncultured... my coworker looked like i killed her cat when i told her i didn’t know the 90s r&b songs she was playing). my favorite artist of all time is Lorde. other favorites include fleetwood mac, frank ocean, and kacey musgrave.

Quarantine Tag

1. Are you staying home from work/school? Yep

2. If you’re staying home, who’s there with you? My partner

3. Do you have pets to keep you company? Just my stuffed monkey, and one poor plant I’ve miraculously kept alive so far

4. Who do you miss the most? Definitely my friends

5. When was the last time you left your home? uhh.... oh we went to pick up sushi for dinner a couple days ago :D

6. What was the last thing you bought? I think that would be the sushi. It might be the next thing I buy too

7. Is quarantine driving you insane or are you finally relaxed? Driving me crazy, but less than I expected? I knew I was becoming more introverted over the past couple years but this has made me realize just how much. That being said I’m definitely on the “driven crazy” end of the spectrum still!

8. Are you a homebody? Eh...not purely. I end up being a homebody because I’m lazy, not because I prefer staying home to going out.

9. What movies have you watched recently? Rewatched the last Star Wars, and had me a good cry watching Onward.

10. An event that you were looking forward to that got cancelled? Postponed technically, but I was (am) maid of honor for one of my best friends! I’m so sad for her that all that planning and stress is now extended for another year :(

11. What’s the worst thing that you’ve had to cancel? Oh easy, I was going to go to Italy for two weeks, had been dreaming about it my whole life and planning/saving up for it for a year. That was the motivation for my Covid-denial until early March haha

12. What’s the best thing you’ve had to cancel? That’s a toughie...I can’t really think of anything I was relieved to cancel, that wasn’t just postponed (which extended my anxiety/dread about it and therefore wasn’t a positive).

13. Do you have any new hobbies? Hobbies might be a strong word for it. I’ve started doing Hebrew on Duolingo, and busted out my enormous puzzle that hasn’t had space in my apartment until now.

14. What are you out of? Hot chocolate! I’m going to stock up ASAP though.

15. What music are you listening to? Last week I was on a big Zayn kick, this week has been Queen...it jumps around a lot.

16. What shows are you watching? I finished Person of Interest (HIGHLY recommend), and started watching Arrow which has devolved into an honestly shitty show. At this point I’m just powering through. Oh and I rewatched ATLA and now am watching Korra.

17. What are you reading? I’m waiting for The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, and working my way through the collective works of Garth Nix and Charlie N Holmberg. I also might read the Artemis Fowle series, I never did get around to that as a kid.

18. What are you doing of self-care? My five part daily checklist (of which none are required honestly): eat a fruit, text/call/talk to somebody, go outside, exercise, and play a game (read: do something relaxing other than watching TV)

19. Are you exercising? Actually yes, for a change! I do little squat/crunches/etc sets in my living room. I hate cardio but at this point I would actually run on a treadmill or something if I could.

20. How’s your toilet paper supply? We happened to be running out right as the TP Tragedy was happening and I staunchly refused to go buy more because I didn’t want to be a part of that movement. So we lasted until our final roll was completely out and at that point our local grocery store had restocked.

21. Have you made any changes to your hair during quarantine? Not really, I just don’t wash/wear it curly these days. It’s honestly a relief to be able to touch it all the time again!
