Study Trick That No One Told Me.

Division of subjects:

Every subject is learnt and graded in a different way. You can't use the same study techniques for every subject you have. You have mostly 3 types of subjects:

Memorization based

Practical/Question based

Theory/Essay based

Memorization based:

Mostly Biology, Sciences, Geography etc are fully based on memorization and so you'll use memory study techniques like flash cards and active recall.

Practical/Question based:

Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Accountancy etc are practice subjects. The more you do your questions and understand how a sum is done, the better you can score.

Theory/Essay based:

English, history, business studies etc are theory based. The more you write, the way you write and the keywords you use are the only things that will get you your grades. So learn the formats and the structure on how to write your answers

Note: Some subjects are a combination of the three. Like Economics etc

The reason we divide the subjects is because you can adopt the right study methods for the right subject. Like ex: business studies is mostly based on how you write your answer and the keywords, if you're gonna spend your time memorizing in this, it's a waste of time and energy.

my name's emily, i'm 26, and i'm a third year english literature student! i'm originally from scotland, but i'm currently in my second semester of a year abroad in new zealand! i've had this blog for about six months and i'm hoping to use it a bit more intentionally and post more consistently this semester 😊

this semester i'm taking three english modules and one classics module:

🧛‍♂️ irish-scots gothic: this is definitely my favourite so far! i loveee gothic literature and the texts for this class are super fun

🏝 māori & pacific lit: this seems interesting but it's the first year this course has been run so you can tell the lecturers are still finding their feet a little

📜 poetic revolt: i think this class has the potential to be the most educational if i engage with it properly as i'm not super into poetry or experimental/avant-garde forms of literature

🏺 graeco-roman myth: this class deals a lot with the psychology behind myth, which is a way i haven't looked at it before, although i have studied classics in the past

outside of university i'm currently learning six languages on duolingo: italian, french, spanish, german, scottish gaelic, and greek! there's a local woman who takes italian language classes, so i'm considering signing up for those as well

I've been studying Japanese for 10+ years (omg) and I've had this Japanese langblr since 2019. I learned Japanese formally starting in high school and although I've never taken the JLPT, I consider myself lower advanced level (N3/N2?) except when I'm not.

after graduating, I'll be taking a year out to save up and get some volunteering/work experience before applying for a masters in psychology (conversion)!

hiii!!! how are y'all??

my name is lia and i decided to make a studyblr!!

a little bit about me: i'm an anthropology and archaeology student with interests in food studies, agriculture, activism, sustainability, gardening, singing, and poorly playing the ukulele and guitar. my current longterm goals are kinda shifting. i want to work in crm for a year after i graduate (which will be next december!) and maybe go to grad school for anthro? we will see lol, for now just enjoying learning and undergrad :)

i've been in the studyblr community for years just lurking and looking at people's posts, but i finally decided to make my own lol. i figured it may help with the motivation i so desperately need.

one thing about this blog though is that i do not have the time or resources to make this super aesthetic. i'm making a real, honest studyblr. the lighting will be poor, handwriting shit, i'll have overdue assignments, my sleep schedule will be godawful, and i will be drowning in energy drinks. bc that's my vibe. and if you can relate this space is for you (and it's for you even if this isn't your lifestyle!!) i think we need more realistic studyblrs, and i want to be a part of that.

hello! i thought i’d do a little introduction post to anyone who might stumble upon my account

my name is rakel, i am 21 and from sweden. i have just started a chemistry course at university, which is taking up most of my time. when i’m not studying, i like to read, sew, play instruments and sing in my choir.

i am currently living at home with my parents but i lived in a different city from 2022-2024 when i went to music school for two years. it was a wonderful experience but i am planning on keeping my music a hobby and eventually working in STEM as i intend to start an engineering programme next autumn.

the academic year 24/25 is a sort of year ”in between” for me, maybe not a gap year per se, because i have been both studying (astrophysics) and working (as a teacher sub) during the past term and now i am studying full time. i have, however, not been on any clear academic path as i am not studying a programme.

so that’s a little (or a lot) about me! this blog (are they called blogs on tumblr?) will probably consist of musings and pictures from my everyday experiences and i hope you stick around!

Hello I'm Viktor or Vik, I'm 21 and from the Northern US. I initially created this blog while I was studying in Berlin, however I became homeless and moved back to the US. I'm studying again at a different university, and am getting back on track. I'm now working full time on top of attending school on time, so I'm looking to use this blog as an information source (for finding different study methods, tips, etc) and social vibes.

I'm an undergraduate majoring in environmental science and sociology. I'm also studying German and Korean. I've been taking a mechanics course, but that's not really going to be talked about on here
