finally posting my isatscryption stuff here!!! yipee!!! here’s a writeup about the card design because frankly i put wayy too much thought into all of these cards. sorry if these are a bit hard to parse!

unkillable and corpse eater effectively make sif immortal, since every time he dies, he’ll be placed back on the board! and i thought that was fitting for. y’know. timeloop reasons. brittle is only there to emphasize the whole constantly dying thing. because is it really isat without siffrin torment

also didn’t notice this until after i designed this card, but the brittle sigil art has a star on it??? not intentional in the slightest but it is Fitting

sif is a fox here! i know that that would technically put them in the canine tribe, but i felt it’d be more fitting for them to be tribeless? and base game inscryption already kinda bends the rules when it comes to tribes (such as the bullfrog being a reptile and the rabbit being treated internally as a rodent) so i think it still works

i’m well aware that card traits don’t actually have cool names or anything but i still want to give them cool names because it’s fun. anyways! cursebearer! i gave them this trait both because these sigils are extremely overpowered, and for lore reasons. sif sees their sigils as a curse! they don’t want to force them on anyone else!! it’s their burden to bear!!!

tangentially related to that last point, but sif is a talking card in this au! because it’s fun :3. and because i think it’d be really interesting to see how he’d react to the cabin

sif’s scar is covered by the hat a bit but it’s Star Shaped. and so is the eye shine teehee

this was the first card i made and Boy Does It Show. i had the WORST time trying to get the card generators to work for this because oops! both of the card generators are inaccurate in different ways! plus theres a few mistakes in the card art that i didn’t notice until after i finished most of the others... i promise the others are a little more polished

also, since i didn’t mention it above the cut, the sigil patch is for the bone king sigil! which makes the card award 4 bones instead of 1 upon death. this is less for lore reasons and more for the synergy with his sigils. since he’s constantly dying and coming back, he can basically give you infinite bones for Zero Cost. fun!

Aro culture is I do not know how to state this plainly but

aromantic person is to amatonormativity and atheist is to religion? Like I've seen atheists question religion a lot and they seem unusually well read compared to their religious counterparts and despite knowing more about it, they also have a whole lot of questions most religious people dare not to ask or think about at all. And then there's aros! Between allos and aros, the aros are likely the ones who have read about amatonormativity and I do not think allos even know about the word at all, neither do they question (and probably challenge) it as much as we aros typically do.

I'm gonna be totally real, I am leery of takes like that about "religion" because 90+% of the time in atheist spaces I've seen or heard of, it's like... only actually talking about Christianity with a smattering of other religions as viewed by a christo-centric cultural lens.

I think any time someone starts making broad claims about any group being "unusually well read" it's time to take a step back and consider your sampling bias and clustering bias. You likely specifically seek out people who are well read, and end up with sampling bias. Additionally, that sort of community often references within itself, and especially if you follow a group, you see the cluster around that group, which inflates the perceived impression.

Please note, i'm not saying you are like... 100% wronger than any person alive. I'm just saying that's not easily studied by experts, and it's actually quite hard to say anything about these types of metrics without bias.

The point you are making though, I think, may be better expressed by talking about people who leave a common belief system or never belonged to a common belief system in their life. In general, people who intentionally or unintentionally fail to comply with a commonly held opinion could be more likely to spend more time thinking about the nuances of it and related subjects. I think that is a point I could concede is generally true.

I'm purely posting this here to say that every other request similar to this will be posted on my alt blog @myrandomsuaus because I don't want these to fill up this blog since I want this to focus solely on this au and not fusion fanart and interaction fanart.

Initially struggled with the pose, but eventually got it how I wanted. Also just like any fusion with a Steven the name of the fusion is Stevie.

Heeeey, been a while since I popped in for a yap session.

Funnily enough this isn't a gear swap ramble, oh no no no. I GOT A NEW AU SUCKERS!!

It started with me drawing silly fusions of the phighting characters and then my brain said, "Hey we can make an au out of this." And so I did!

There's no story, it's more like an alt version of the Inpherno. Similar rules but a few differences. For example:

The Spawn works more like this: It takes two gears, doesn't matter if one or both have been used before and the inphernal spawned will have those two gears. The only rule is that there are no repeat mixes, so let's say there is an inphernal with a Skateboard and Sword gear. The Spawn wouldn't be able to create a new inphernal with those two gears until the inphernal dies.

Names: Instead of using the names of their gears inphernals pick a name they think suits them, mostly based on vibes and what they think is cool.

Anyway here are the characters I have in mind so far (not all are designed):

Agave: (Scythe + Vinestaff) Lone wanderer of Lost Temple and Thieves Den, while she isn't a part of the COTTE she does mercenary work for them. For a price of course. While to most she is an intimidating presence, to those that are close know her to be very kind but definitely snarky and a bit rude at times but that's part of her charm.

Sonic: (Coil + Skateboard and no not the hedgehog): Chill dude that's made his home in Playground, occasionally gets mixed with other gangs but he doesn't stay for long. Also he probably smokes weed.

Mal: (Medkit + Broker): Medic from TF2, they can and will steal your bones. Mal is short for "Malpractice" and they are 110% guilty of it. He is good at medical stuff, he just chooses to mess around and do things that most doctors definitely wouldn't do, that's how he lost their medical license. :P

Scourge: (Subspace + Darkheart): Menace to society, absolutely Bastard tm. They can and will curse you without warning and/or reason. Fun fact: I hc that Darkheart has four eyes like Windforce so all his fusions would have that design choice. Double fun fact: Scourge was spawned with three of his eyes on the left side of his face. But yeah, he's a bitch, not much else to say.

Frostburn: (Icedagger+ Firebrand): Very isolated, due to their contrasting elements their magic is very unstable. Their ice is unmeltable and their fire is unimaginably hot, because of this they stay far away from civilization in their tower. They don't mind because they're a massive introvert (just like me fr) but they do sometimes wish they could see other people purely because they haven't done it before.

Nova: (Rocket + Illumina): Overseer of Playground and honestly just done with everyone's shit, they don't interact with many other people and when they do they keep it short. Only one person has actually been able to keep a conversation with Nova but that's because they are a nosy little bitch that wouldn't stop bothering him.

Void: (Coil + Darkheart): The nosy bitch in question, he also oversees Playground but he's more like a local cryptid. Sometimes you'd see him sitting atop a building or in the corner of your eye, he very much enjoys messing with people but also keeps the peace by breaking up fights when they get too out of hand.

Lyric: (Valk + Rainbow (my OC)): Hermes from Epic the musical, gay little laugh and everything. Celebrity whose shows are always sold out, when they put on a performance they go 100% not much else to say but they are just Hermes.

Wave: (Boombox + Biograft): Literally N from Murder Drones, sweet lil guy that could absolutely kill you in a heartbeat but would rather not.

That's all I got so far, others I either haven't thought of lore and names for. :P

I’d be curious to know your headcanons for the Ave Mujica girls’ Pokémon teams, if that so pleases you.

Mod Fusion:

If you see Sakiko's team, this would make sense.

Kecleon matches the disguise theme of Ave Mujica.

Yamask matches the disguise theme, Binacle and Capsakid (or at least the evolution) have two heads (with Capsakid also being a reference to Mutsumi's love of gardening), and Skitty plays into Mortis's relationship with Raana.

Riolu, Treecko, and Hisuian Growlithe match her nonchalant yet dedicated personality, while Cubchoo matches Taki's Pancham.

Nyamu's Hoppip is a callback to both the meaning of her name and her rural background, Bruxish feels like a Pokémon a beautytuber would have, Glameow is the perfect Pokémon for a cat-like diva, and Alomomola matches her alter ego, Amoris.

Illumise matches up with Uika's Volbeat, and what better choice for a leader figure than a sun and a queen?

Stonjourner is meant to be a counterpart to Tomori's Eiscue

I got bored earlier and decided I wanted to draw a fusion so I decided to make a redesign of WD!Steven from @ask-whitepearl-and-steven and Sophie's fusion that I did three years ago (literally made the original drawing, not featured here, in 2020). I will admit that I haven't kept up with the au Chekhov has made, but that's okay because I know their au is amazing as it's been since I originally followed years ago. Anyways, here's Stevie (as I'm calling all Sophie and Steven fusions) in their new form.

So I did use Chekhov's rose design that was used on the Crystal Gems back when I still really kept up with the au (not quite sure if it's still apart of the CGs designs, but just roll with it lol), but that's because I just really like the simplification of a rose they made and I felt it fit Sophie since she's sort of a CG in my au but not officially. Honestly the outfit as a whole is based of the reference I used for the pose while also incorporating the original design of the fusion into the redesign. I call it a redesign because Sophie is/has been redesigned herself. Which is why the hair and eyes are different. Idk exactly why I gave them three eyes, but I just thought it felt right, but then again I do just enjoy mashing two different characters into one to create something entirely new lol.

I'd say that this version is probably more stable than the og version because it's just two dorks that form a giant sassy dork (all Stevens are dorks no matter the au to me lol). Plus the pose kinda gives the vibe of "older sibling that looks like an ass, but actually cares deeply about younger sibling" to me so they'd seem all cool and collected but really just a dork that is a bit sassy. (They're sorta like Garnet, but that wasn't intentional)

Uh... yeah. Hope you like them and just know this was all done purely for fun and just exists because of my love for drawing fusions. Also I wanted to redo their fusion anyways and decided that I'd do it while in the mood. So remember to have a good day and stay creative!
