next on the list is Yoyo and the ahinat

Iokua is an Ahinat, which is basically a fire/lava dracanae ( which is just this realm's fancy word for dragon ). the hallmark of Ahinats are the very distinct gem patterning on their faces and body that they develop over time. these gems, like the feathers of the Wrucilese, are highly coveted for similar reasons — they are magically rich regardless of the state they're in. Naturally, they'll be a little less potent if they're broken or in a more viscous form ( as an Ahinat's body temperature can reach crazy numbers in their non-humanoid form ) but something is better than nothing, no? on top of this, the Ahinat outnumber the Wrucilese by a large amount — and this includes halflings like Iokua — so they don't have that protected status that would prevent people from capitalizing on what they considered a “free resource”. In the past, it was a rampant problem that resulted in many citizens either being kidnapped, killed, or tortured for these gems. it got to the point where a law was passed that legally protected ahinat from bad actors ( hunters and the like ). this isn't to say that it was allowed ( because it wasn't ) or that any in Afirewyn viewed it as anything less than barbaric ( because that's what it was ), but more as a law that said “this should not have to be a law, but now it is”.

the sentence for breaking it in any capacity is death, as one would imagine. it's a deterrent for most… but not all.

Yoyo is half ahinat and half human so the patterning of these gems is a little different ( as descibed in the additional notes in his bio ). Where pureblooded ahinat have these gems spread over a majority of sections of their body, much like how scales would cover being's necks or joints, Yoyo only has them in specific areas — under his eyes, along his collarbone and shoulder, and on his back. Because of his heritage ( being a descendant of the first queen of Afirewyn ), these gems frame the ancestral markings he has on his back and arms. They might seem “random” from far away or in low light--and if one has every gotten close enough to feel them underneath any shirt Yoyo is wearing, they will seem random too — but they follow a specific pattern that's only obvious… if he's not wearing a shirt.

lastly, there's a difference in texture between the gems on his face… and the gems everywhere else. Those that line the underside of his eyes are smooth and warm to the touch when he is not either worked up or using magic otherwise, they'd be very hot. the other gems are…. somewhat “bumpy”, if i had to use a word to describe them. they're also always pretty warm to the touch, being a couple degrees above his normal body temperature. again, they'll stay these temperatures unless he's worked up or using magic.

so theres been a 21.5 inch screen tablet sitting at work for a few weeks and ive been watching the price go down. today it was $170 before my 25% staff discount and after reading some reviews i may have bought myself a little christmas present LOL it is really nice though and im gonna put it on an arm so i dont gotta deal with unplugging it and shit. it is preowned but its in really nice shape and it even has both of the 2 pens its supposed to have and 2 extra nibs! the only thing missing seems to be the 3 different options for the VGA converters which those arent expensive

So I wanna say in like... early November when I agreed to the 23 straight days of pet sitting was when I decided upon upgrading my computer situation with the money I made from it. Right now I have a Lenovo y70 touch laptop which works fine but since it's 20 pounds or so I don't really use it as a laptop. (Plus the wireless internet is so bad in my room that an ethernet cable was put in lol)

Anyway the point is I've been thinking about this new computer I was going to get myself for about 3 months now. Planning out how i want it to be set up (my two main things were I want a dual monitor setup and a disc drive so I can watch movies we own on DVD!!!). Doing a little bit of research into desks, keyboards, speakers, ALL that. AND toDAY parts of the tower started arriving. My dad (who is somewhat in charge of it all as he has worked in tech my whole life and built his computer too) thinks it'll be up and running this WEEKEND even which is wILD. I was hoping to get it all done this month but omg it actually might happen. I'm so beyond excited and I can't believe after months of thinking about it it's actually happeningggg aaaaaaaa 🥳🥳🥳
