Honestly, I think we need to talk more often about the exotic pet trade. It’s such a threat to wild populations of animals all over the world. Anytime i see a post on here that’s like “look at this cute animal you probably haven’t heard of!” I weep over the truth that the more people hear about it, the more they will poach it from the land.

And I ask myself…why are people doing this? Why are we trying to take these often endangered animals from their habitat even as we know it won’t help them?

And I think to my own self. When I was 19, working in an exotic pet store, having just left a childhood full of times in the woods and farm animals. I came to a city that felt like it had none of that. The little glass boxes felt like encapsulations of the nature I had grown up around and sorely come to miss. If I couldn’t have it outside, I thought, I would have it inside. My coworkers and I all talked and watched videos about building little ecosystems for our little pets. It felt exciting. It felt connecting.

But the issue is that these aren’t ecosystems. They are often perpetual death machines of capture, and they often lead to disruption of the native ecosystems you’re actually yearning for. Hell, look at Florida. Hundreds of invasive animals, including everything from great large pythons to little isopods, all brought in through the pet trade. Look at Australia. Species decimated by poaching. Read about all the little monkeys of the world, and what we have done by owning them.

There are entire industries wrapped up in the poaching of wild animals, the breeding of them, the housing of them, the feeding of them. Even some of the most well respected and supposedly ethical people in the trade still think there are different ethics for breeders and normal keepers. They store their animals in minimalistic tiny enclosures. Thousands upon thousands of rats and crickets are bred just to maintain the feed supply to the trade and its customers, creating an endless wheel of suffering and disease conditions. And I must ask, why? For what purpose? It’s not conservation. These aren’t concerned groups creating sanctuary populations for wildlife reintroduction. They aren’t growing things for food, or leather, or research. All of those we can discuss the ethics of, sure, but at least then there is a reason. What is the reason here? Just to have a hollow stare at a sad creature and pretend that is love? Just to propagate more environmental destruction with our ongoing thievery of peat moss and orchids for our tanks?

And still then are the collectors. I’ve met people with hundreds of animals placed in shoe storage racks, living their lives for no purpose other than the occasional glance and the feeling of having a hoard.

We all feel so disconnected from the environment that we are willing to rob other areas of the world, we are willing to further endanger these species we love, we are willing to terrorize the ecosystems we are unknowingly in, all due to our incredible and violent loneliness.

But this is a solvable problem.

Learn to live where you are. Learn to love the things you can find around you. Plant native plants, you will see native birds and wildlife. If you don’t have a yard, offer to care for the yard of an older neighbor, if they will let you use native plant landscaping in exchange. If you truly cannot connect where you are, to its people and to its ecosystems, then research somewhere and move. But don’t live your life with one foot out the door, hating where you are and doing nothing, dreaming or elsewhere and never leaving.

You do not need to collect rare morphs of isopods. My friend, I see so many beautiful native ones outside in the habitat I have helped manage for them. I see swallowtail butterflies and chimney swifts and solitary bees and little snakes and salamanders and anoles. I learn their species names and watch their behaviors. I see what they eat, where they hide, what times of year they are around. And I feel, finally, connected. Everything I was looking for in the commodity of exotic pets, I found in the reality just outside my door. I have nurtured it and it has nurtured me.

Owning that cute monkey won’t fix you. But having a relationship with the ecology around you just might begin to.

Dragon never understood why people were so afraid of snakes because, in all his experience zoan or otherwise, snakes are some of the most relaxed and pacifistic animals. Even the reputed man-eating pythons of the Goa Kingdom wouldn't even raise their heads out of the sun so long as they or their eggs weren't messed with (which albeit the Monkey family is very guilty of by necessity). There have been moments where Dragon has been fighting a wild macaque in the trees and the giant rock python coiled around one of the lower branches didn't stir once. At least until the end when they looped around the fleeing macaque with lightning swiftness for some lunch.

Also they do this a lot more than people would think.

Like with all the animals his devil fruit makes him an amalgamation of, he can understand them, and they him.

Their language is fascinating because it isn’t based in sound, but in scent. They, like the majority of the animal kingdom, are incapable of lying. They are careful, slow-going creatures. Excellent basking partners. Invaluable contributors to modern medicine. Excellent subjects of analogy and philosophical debate.

Of course, growing up being able to understands snakes made similes and idioms like “low as a snake” or “snake in the grass” difficult to grasp. They still remain a pet peeve of his.

Dragon adores snakes, but if there’s one he is required to put above the rest, it’s the Great Serpent Nola. The amount of history he’s learned from her while doing their morning basking is incredible. It’s been crucial information in the post-Nerona dictatorship intellectual renaissance.

Happy 12th Anniversary to “A Liar’s Autobiography” (2012) !

(aka my fave animated biopic about my fave Monty Python member, Graham Chapman!)

“A Liar’s Autobiography” (2012) was first theatrically released on this day (the 2nd of November, that is), and so I thought I would make a tribute post to this little beautifully bonkers animated film which ALSO changed my life (for the better and for the sillier too!).

I…..honestly don’t know what to say. I absolutely love, like, REALLY love this movie with my entire heart ❤️ , but I will admit, it was…quite a difficult watch tbh.

I don’t mean that in a bad way of course, in fact, I like to say that the film succeeded in that part, as it truly really made you feel and experience ALL the highs AND lows of Graham’s life, both in terms of him as a person and his struggles with alcoholism and his identity with finding himself. The scene, which was HAUNTINGLY and BEAUTIFULLY shown in a oil painting-esque animation, really showed Graham’s struggles with trying to go sober and eventually going cold turkey, and it really made me feel quite uneasy tbh, but I will reiterate by saying that the way the scene was done was just….amazing and beautiful.

However, the film (imo) also succeeds in showing Graham’s highs as well as his lows, and thankfully the film avoids portraying him as just a “tragic person”, because….to put it simply, that’s simply not true. Yes, Graham did had tragic elements to him and had tragic events that occurred in his life, but Graham IS NOT defined by his tragedies. He was and is, first and foremost, a comedian. He was silly. He was happy. He was wise. He was gay, and he was a proud one at that! He had a loving and supportive and sweet relationship with his partner David Sherlock, from the day they met in Ibiza to the day Graham passed away.

Graham was, to simply put, a human. A silly and bonkers human at that, but a human nonetheless.

The way the film portrayed Graham himself was also quite amazing tbh, utilising his voice in the form of his audiobook reading of the book ALA that he did in the 1980s and using it to, in a way, portray Graham as the Narrator of his film and him guiding us (the audience) through his life was quite clever tbh, I will admit! It did really make it seem like Graham really did come back from the Heavens to speak to us for the first (and last) time and, as true to the spirit of Graham, him almost taking the piss out of it, and in the most affectionate and loving way possible as well.

The animations were just….absolutely GORGEOUS to look at fr. Even with the supposedly “sub-par” animated segments of the film (such as the Monkey Pythons animation) really is quite charming and silly, which I think is done intentionally as to give the film some light hearted moments to balance out the otherwise dark moments in the film, in my opinion at least. My personal favourite animated segments were the animations of Graham’s childhood, the “Sit on My Face” and “Medical Love Song” musical number scenes, the Monkey Pythons animations, the Graham and David scenes, the Graham going Cold Turkey animation, and the Graham as Colin “Bomber” Harris animated scenes. They were all amazing and wonderful and charming and beautiful and tear-jerking and bittersweet fr!

Also, shoutout to the rest of the voice cast in ALA, they also did amazing here! The Pythons (minus Eric Idle ofc lol) were pretty great in here too! My personal favourites being Michael Palin and Terry Jones as Graham’s dad and Graham’s mum respectively and Cameron Diaz as Sigmund Freud, as they were quite hilarious tbh! But my fave voice performance would have to be Philip Bulcock as David Sherlock (aka Graham’s partner) as I loved his portrayal of David and his sweet and supportive nature fr, and his performance as David really made me genuinely believe that he truly loves Graham (and vice versa). Also, even if Graham and David don’t talk much (at least to each other) in the film, you can tell that JUST from their subtle body language ALONE that they both truly love and care for each other, and that’s truly what makes their relationship so beautiful to see imo 🥹❤️

Also, the clip of his funeral memorial service which was shown near the end of the film truly made me sob and cry internally (fsr I couldn’t cry tears externally at that moment but on the inside I was WEEPING HARD ASF AT THIS SCENE LIKE OMG 😭😭)

Honestly, the amount of love and care for this movie truly, like, TRULY warms my heart. Like, it really does show that this film was made with a labour of love, and that everyone enjoyed making and was passionate about this film fr. Hearing that just increases my love for the movie even more, and my respect for the team behind this film also increases fr. Plus this film truly is a visual marvel to look at, and it’s one of my main inspirations to go on a path towards animation, or at least graphic design, cuz I want to make something just as beautiful as this film, filled with passion and love just as this film too!

So, overall……thank you ALA. Thank you. Thank you for allowing me the chance to experience this silly and funny and beautiful and bittersweet love letter and tribute 💌 of an animated biopic about one of my favourite comedians, and in general just an absolutely wonderful person who graced this Earth with their wit and charm and bonkers attitude, and delivering it in the most beautiful and silly and bonkers way imaginable!

Just….thank you ALA. Thank you so much.

Disclaimer: Obviously, if you don’t like this type of content, don’t read. This is just a little story I self-indulgently wrote and just like all fiction this is just little hc I have IF the boys were a part of this community.

I have a series I have had in my notes, since 2019, that I write little bits in whenever i feel like writing. I have a whole other document of notes so I don’t forget little things I have planned for it. I did have to look back on it a few times even for this little blurb I did. If I ever post it, this does contain spoilers but I think it stands alone pretty well.

Let’s get it!

There was something about being together that feels like time goes by so fast and yet no time passes at all.

Jinyoung watched from the side as they took a break from shooting their new video. He should have known that the indoor playground would be a cause for the boys to start getting rowdy. But the smiles on all their faces as they ran around and chucked artificial snow at each other made him just want to watch and let it go.

Maybe, time in the military made him soft, funnily enough.

“Are you doing okay?” Jaebeom asked as he passed over a water bottle.

“Thanks. Yeah. I think.” He got a side glance as the leader settled himself beside him and looked out at the others. Jackson screamed as Mark snuck behind him and the maknaes started playing on the monkey bars while Youngjae laughed as he took pictures and videos of them all for later.

He fidgeted with the bottle cap, just barely loosening and tightening it over and over. Jaebeom’s hand lightly covered his, catching his attention, and he looked over.

Their leader was staring at him, almost demanding a response with just twitch of his eyebrow.

“I think I just miss this already…” he sighed. “We’ve just gotten back from the military and we have a few more things to do together but… I know it’s going to go by so fast, I-”, his grip on the cap made the bottle crinkle from the pressure.

“I know.” Jaebeom’s hand gently tightened around his, and the feeling of the other’s thumb caressing just along the edge of his pinky sent a small shiver up his spine. “We’re all going to miss this… but we’ll make the time again. We’ll always the time.”

Jinyoung took a deep breath, if it came out a little shaky, Jaebeom ignored it.

“EOMMA!!”

Jackson smacked his hand over his mouth not knowing what else to do as the other members froze and turned to him.

Everyone, but Jaebeom who sighed and waved him over.

“App-Jaebeomie… I—”

“It’s alright,” the leader smiled and ruffled the little’s hair once he was in arms length. Jackson looked between him and Jinyoung with a confused pout searching for clarification. “Don’t you think I thought some of you might slip at an indoor playground of all places?”

Jinyoung looked to the crew that was checking the video playback and checking the angles for some of the upcoming shots, and they hadn’t even flinched the way the other members had. Looking back at Jaebeom, the leader smirked.

“I talked to them in advanced. They think that it’s just habits picked up from from our early days. They actually thought it was funny and cute… and they mentioned being tipped off from returning staff that we’d get really excitable since it’s been so long…”

“So I’m not in trouble?” Jackson’s wide eyes looked so hopeful and the leader took pity.

“No, Seunnie, you’re alright. What did you need from Eomma?”

Jackson squirmed a bit shyly. “I just missed him… we were all playing and then I think I just…”

Jaebeom nudged Jinyoung with his elbow and he didn’t need to be told twice to drop his water bottle and scoop up his little boy.

Jackson was surprised but immediately melted into his eomma’s arms. It had been such a long time there was a small part of Jackson that he wouldn’t remember how to dream let alone regress… or worse that Jinyoung wouldn’t need him anymore.

But the feeling came on so strong: one moment he was just messing around with his friends and the next he was playing with his hyungs and noona. If he was honest with himself, it scared him with how fast he slipped. It felt like it happened so rarely before he almost forgot what it was like. Then again, eomma would was always there to help him feel safe.

“My poor Seunnie,” Jinyoung whispered. “That must have surprised you.” He felt Jackson’s hands grip the back of his jacket and the not-so-subtle nod against his shoulder. “Eomma’s here…”

“Appa is just chopped liver, huh?” A muffled giggle rung by Jinyoung’s ear. “Brat.”

“Ignore Appa, Seunnie. He’s just jealous you always call for me first.” He smiled wide and Jackson pulled away from his hiding spot with a wide grin on his face. “Yeah, I get to see this face first. Always.” He leaned towards his little one’s face and rubbed their noses together.

“Is Jackie okay?” Mark made his way over to check on his little brother. It wouldn’t surprise anyone if Marks’s high energy was what set off Jackson’s regression. Mark never had trouble slipping and it was so seamlessly integrated in his personality no one would have guessed until he said something to give himself away.

“He’s alright. He unexpectedly slipped and it startled him.”

“Oh yeah? I thought he was just dreamy with me for the break so I didn’t notice. Bammie-hyung is still big cuz he’s playing with the others.”

“He would have braided yours and yugyeom’s hair by now if he had slipped. I think he’s just roughhousing and having a good time. He loves his maknae.”

Mark giggled. “Yeah, for sure!”

“Mark?”

The older boy turned to his little brother, “Yeah, Jackie?”

“Can we play again later?”

“You gonna be big already, Jackie?”

Jackson pouted in thought before he eventually nodded. “Too many people… It’s safe now but I wanna be with everyone…”

“Even if you’re just dreamy later?”

“Yeah… I wanna see Beomie too…” Jackson looked over to their leader who looked like a deer in the headlights.

“You all know I haven’t regressed like that in a while! What makes you thi-”

“I’d love to see my baby…” Jaebeom turned his eyes to Jinyoung. “It would cheer me up to see all the kids playing together… I haven’t made many snacks in a while… I might be rusty…”

“Eomma, your snacks are gonna be so yummy!”

“Yeah, ma. You know we all eat just about anything anyways!”

The three of them looked at their leader once more, all of them, nearly pouting.

Something in Jaeboem stirred in him and he had to take a deep breath. He wanted to say “Not now.” But what actually escaped his lips, in a smaller tone than he expected, was, “Can I have mint choco cream?”

His eyes widened as he felt a warm arm slip around his shoulders.

“Of course! We can pick up some small containers of ice cream on the way back home!”

“Yeah! Ice cream!! Good idea, Beomie!”

Jaebeom blush and tried to hide his face in his hands. He almost slipped just because they were all so hopeful. Where did his tolerance go for their sad puppy eyes??

“I heard ice cream!”

“Me too!”

“Are we getting it delivered here or are we taking it with us?”

Jinyoung smiled as the others joined their little huddle. “After shooting we’re going to get ice cream and snacks for a sleepover.”

“Ooh! Does that mean what I think it means?!”

“Are you all gonna slip?”

“Youngjae-hyung, had you not even noticed that they slipped? Even I was close but I don’t slip easy unless I’m wearing something more comfortable.”

“Yes! I haven’t been “hyung” in ages!!” Yugyeom cheered.

“Alright, al-RIGHT!”

The group settled down fast and gave their leader a moment.

“We are going to do a few stretches to give Jinyoung time help Jackson get ready to finish filming. Once we’re done we’ll change and head out to the convenient store for some snacks and head home for the sleepover.”

Bambam raised his hand.

“Yes, Bam?”

“Can we watch Frozen 2 when we get home?”

“I haven’t seen Inside Out 2 yet!”

“What about Turning Red?”

“I’ll watch Frozen 2”

“Youngjae you don’t count!”

“Stretches! Now! We can discuss movies on the drive home.” Everyone groaned but started to make their way to the stage. “Besides, I want to see what everyone was upset about with Wish.”

“Awwww come on, hyung!!”

Jackson sighed and leaned back into Jinyoung’s arms, he was already feeling himself pull out of his headspace.

“Will you be alright, Jackson?”

“Yeah… Besides, this is still the happiest I’ve been in a while.” Admitting it sounded so sad, but it was true, he missed his friends. He missed his family.

“Me too. I missed you all so much, and my littles too.”

Jackson swallowed, “I almost thought you wouldn’t want-”

“I hope the next word out of your mouth isn’t ‘me’, Jackson. I know it’s been a while but I wasn’t expecting you to forget that I care about you.”

“I know you do!”

“Oh, you are going to get a lot of cuddles when we get home.”

Jackson whined, “Jinyoungie… you’re supposed to help me feel big not stay small…”

Jinyoung laughed, and Jackson admired the whiskers that appeared by his eyes. He struggled between wanting to stay in his arms and wanting to head over to finish the shoot.

He was with his favorite people, he was having the time of his life. Being with them never felt like work.

“I think I’m ready.”

“Alright, then.” Jinyoung let him go only to wrap his arm around his shoulder and start leading Jackson back to the stage.

The others welcomed them back, admitting they’ve still been fighting about what movie to watch the entire time.

“I guess we’ll just have to figure it out on the ride home.”

“Excuse me, Got7. Are you all ready to continue?” The director asked.

“Yes!” They all chimed in and got into place.

The director signaled to the crew and walked off.

Soon they would be finished and headed home. A new wave of energy surged through them and they grinned to each other one last time.

The fun was just beginning.

My not so serious KP villain headcanons:

Personal headcanons that I have for the Kim Possible villains (not all of them). Long post.

Shego loves horror movies and podcasts and once scared the living hell out of Drakken after watching Ringu. She hid under the bed and once he almost drifted off to sleep, she reached from underneath to grab his hand and reveal her with hair covered face.

Shego hates cooking and rather orders take out than go through the effort of prepairing meals. The worst part is cleaning up dishes.

Shego can warm/radiate heat through her hands with her powers in a non-harmfull way. This comes in handy when massaging Dr D's stiff shoulders.

Shego's favourite chickflick is Legally Blonde. She showed it to Drakken once, he too, likes it. Now after every defeat they watch this movie while patching themselves up.

Dr Drakken loves British comedy such as Monty Python, the Mighty Boosh and Little Britain. He often quotes their jokes.

Dr Drakken has a complex bedtime skin care routine that he never skips and follows to a T. Though he only does it before bed, so if he stays awake for several days in a row, he won't do it until actually going to bed.

Dr Drakken actually plucks away stray hairs around his eyebrow to keep the look 'clean' and 'on fleek'.

Dr Drakken's shampoo smells of Lush' sugarplum fairy bodyspray.

Dr Drakken always sings the Mighty Boosh' 'Soup Song' when preparing soup. His secret ingredient to his vegetable soup with mini meatballs is tiny elbow macaroni.

Dr Drakken's 'take over the world by plants' scheme was stolen/inspired from Duff Killigan's failed attempt at turning the world into a golfcourse when the two were over at his place to discuss plans on the Tempes Simia idle and Monkey Fist was away to use the restroom.

Duff Killigan has one of those 'golf-on-your-toilet' golf sets in each restroom/bathroom.

Duff Killigan's favourite Disney movie is Brave, but more so because of the mother daughter bonding aspect of the story. He's a sucker for those kinds of movies.

Monkey Fist loves Shakespeare's works solely because of the infinite monkey theorem.

Monkey Fist has an incredible hatered towards the song "Banana Man" by Tally Hall and 'Day-O' by Harry Belafonte. It's an earworm that never leaves within a day and makes the monkey ninjas dance uncontrollably.

Monkey Fist takes extremely good care of personal hygiene and regularly cuts his nails.

Adrena Lynn's actual name is Adrien.

Adrena Lynn called out the Jackass cast for being fakes.

Adrena Lynn's favourite non extreme sport is table tennis.

Adrena Lynn started the 'girl dinner' tend.

Gill's favourite animals are sharks.

Gill bullied Ron because he wanted to look cooler in front of other camp kids. At his school, he would be the one being bullied.

Gill actually didn't dislike Ron at first but it changed when Ron grabbed an extra (and the last) chocolate pudding cup during dinner on their first day of camp.

Professor Dementor shines his helmet with a hand held waxing device, he never takes it off though.

Professor Dementor's favorite snack is caramel seasalt pretzels.

Professor Dementor wanted to become a children's book writer when growing up.

Dr Drakken, Monkey Fist and Duff Killigan play Dungeons&Dragons. Monkey Fist DMs most of the time, second is Drakken; Duff never DMs. The big bad evil guy is Kim Possible but they almost lose every campaign except for the rare occasion in which the BBEG dies due to accidental environmental circumstances out of their hands. They tried to replicate it irl but where do you find a giant dragon, three gnomes an enchanted blueberry pie and a catapult?

Motor Ed uses WD-40 for his hair instead of conditioner, seriously.

Motor Ed is a diehard Meatloaf fan (the artist, not the food).

Motor Ed despises Meatloaf (the food, not the artist).

Frugal Lucre loves pineapple pizza with extra ham

Frugle Lucre's arch enemy is Kim's cousin Larry.

Frugal Lucre collected cuddlebuddies but his mom threw them out because "you're too old for these toys, so I gave them away to your niece Pamela for her baby room" and that's his villain origin story.

Frugal Lucre has a Dr Drakken cosplay that he sometimes wears to (Hench co.) conventions (inspired by @gothicthundra 's Halloween chapter)

DNAmy's biggest inspiration for fashion is Velma Dinkley from the Scooby Doo franchise.

DNAmy hates Tom and Jerry because it promotes 'violence'.

DNAmy actually is pretty chill and wouldn't mind Kim Possible's company as long as Kim apologises for destroying her work. Kim is a fellow cuddlebuddy collector after all.

After Monkey Fist turned into stone, DNAmy tried reviving him. It didn't work out. She eventually moved on and started dating Frugal Lucre. They're in a happy committed relationship now.

The Bebe bots have their own reality show in Japan and are content with the attention and admiration from fans. They were offered a contact as idol group but they denied it because they didn't want to collaborate with Hatsune Miku.

Señior Senior Junior became a top model and worked with the fashionistas but when they got arrested again, SSJ used his privilege to continue his career.

With the help of Bonnie, Señior Senior Junior wrote an autobiography about his life under the influence of his father. It's titled "I didn't want to be a criminal, but Daddy made me do it." And it is said to become an autobiographical movie (but once again, Junior can't star in it).

Señior Senior Junior and Bonnie got married after Bonnie graduated from college.

Señior Senior Junior loves My little Pony friendship is magic and writes wholesome fanfiction. He likes PinkPie because she likes to party. He also realises that a lot of his youth is missed out on because of his father's wealth. He is semi thankful for villainy because it introduced him to Shego and their friendship. He tried making her watch it but she didn't seem into it.

Señior Senior Senior could actually give up villainy for his future grandchildren. This was Bonnie's initiative, because she doesn't want her kids to grow up around inmates and prisoners.

So i decided to put this up here. I wil eventually be making one for Chun, no worries, but wanted to post this here for future reference for myself and anyone else who needs it. Since this is going to be a big reference sheet, I will include any and all reference images that are important. Incense Burner/Ball and Chain Weapon

This incense burner is wrapped around Tao's waist and tends to spew some of his mist magic at any given time. It acts as both a weapon and storage. It can be used similarly to the ball and chain weapon from twilight princess, but can grow and shrink depending on what Tao needs. Misty spikes appear on the sphere when Tao is using it as a weapon.

King

A plushie made in Wukong's likeness that Macaque made for Tao when she was little. They told Macaque what clothes he wanted the little guy to wear, after seeing a future vision of baba wearing his more modern outfit. Has several small pocket dimensions inside of him that Tao can go into at any time.

Loves soaring all on her own. can use his body to propel himself around and even gets help from the wind.

Replication/Shadow Cloning

Makes misty clones that can take on a physical appearance if nessicary.

Telepathic communication/Astral Projection

Has links to Wukong, Macaque, Chun and Zihou, but can easily astral project to anyone so long as they accept.

Flaming Fist of Fury

Strengthened by the Yang Samadhi fire to dangerous levels

Lazer eyes

Has the ability to use this power, but has never done so.

Gold Vision

Capable of using this in it's original state, and an altered version that allows him to see as if he wasn't blind.

Kaiju Form/Smoke Generation

Inherited from both parents (I will go i to more detail about his Kaiju in Macaque's section.)

Powers from Liu Er (Macaque)

Enhanced Hearing

Although Tao only has one extra set of ears, his hearing is still very sensitive.

Shadow Manipulation

Tao's shadows are more fluid-like in appearance compared to Macaque's.

She is capable of calling upon their mother's shadows should he ever find the need to.

Shadow Cloning/Replication

Clones usually take on a misty, cloud-like appearance, but have the ability to turn into identical clones to the original. Shadow clones of Macaque's can also be summoned if needed.

Shadow Transportation

Tao can use this ability easily, and the shadows tend to do most of the work for him. Macaque can sense each time Tao uses the shadows to warp.

Smoke Generation /Kaiju form

A misty form with a stone-like mask and chest plate with all four of the hands being stone as well as some stone bits around her wrists and tail. This form has three alternate forms depending on Tao's mood and the element that corresponds to it.

The Kaiju's base form

Height: Mainly between 120 Meters (394 Feet) and 158 Meters (521 feet), but can shrink to smaller heights. (Imagine the heights between Godzilla in Godzilla vs. Kong and King Ghidorah)

Fire Form

Uses the Yang half of the Samadhi Fire to further fuel itself. The base form has only parts of Tao's hair, the twin tips of his tail and around his wrists ignite, the same places where his stone parts are excluding the stone mask and chest piece. This differs fron his fiery wrath form, in which the entire body of the kaiju is engulfed in flames, which burn any and all they come in contact with.

Water Form

Uses the primal power of Tao's water abilities to fuel it. This form is rarely used for fighting and more as a method of escape, as it can seemingly 'melt' into any large body of water and vanish. Every time this form appears, heavy monsoon-like rains follow. This form is completely made of water with the exception of the stone bits.

Dual Form

A mix of all three forms and is the most destructive in terms of passive property damage. It has currently never been used, and for good reason. It's power alone rivals the power of the primordeal gods of old. The Yang Samadhi fire is unaffected by the water from this kaiju.

Powers Unique to Tao

• Echolocation

• True Sight (A modified verison of Gold Vision that allows Tao to see as if he wasn't blind)

• Familiar creation, allowed him to summon a unique companion based deeply on his personality. There are currently three. These three count as pokemon in the Pokemon AU I have for Tao.

Yang (Height: 9'2" Feet)

A fiery ghost dog that has been Tao's friend and companion since they were young. He used to be a living being, a half hellhound. Died protecting his master, and once in the Diyu he became so distraught and enraged over his master still being in danger that he singlehandedly broke out of the Underworld by digging himself out. His flames were so intense at that point that no one could get close without severe casualty to their person, not even the 10 kings. He lost all skin on his paws and head aside from his ears in the act, and successfully escaped to return to his master's side.

He is the only being aside from Wukong that has successfully escaped the Diyu, and since his only goal was to be reunited with his master, the ten kings decided it wasn't worth trying to bring him back. His bays, barks and howls is so intimidating that most sane beings will instinctively flee upon hearing it. He is semi-incorporeal. he consumed his own body as a spirit upon returning to battle and can choose to be more ghost-like or not. Yang often stays in Tao's incense burner/pokeball, or his master's shadow when not needed at that moment. Yang can control his flames to the point that allies will not be burned by them, but instead feel very warm. He's the perfect heater on cold winter days.

Jinjing (Height: 3'5" Feet)

A spunky fishy fox familiar that has also been with Tao since she was young. She acts like a service animal when Tao goes out and about, since Yang and Li are too big to do so without issue. Yang may be able to phase through walls but his Aura is extremely intimidating even for Erlang's hounds. and Li is far too big to be able to fit comfortably in most places. Jinjing knows DPT, can retrieve Tao's medicine on command, and helps to break them out of anything from a spiraling episode to ADHD paralysis (Not a medical term). Those big blue flowing antennae can act as hands if she really wants to use them. The webbed collar is backwards to help with drag in the water. when she flips it out, it helps slow her down in the water and causes drag. She can also inflate it enough to keep her head above water.

Li Yun (Height: 6'0" Feet)

The newest of the familiars, Li is the second most intimidating of the them. They can summon lightning storms at will and are capable of absorbing electricity. Their barks can sound for miles, and wherever they step, thunder and lightning are said to follow. They are generally neutral in most affairs and are more reserved than their Fire and Water counterparts. If Li isn't running about and stretching their legs, they're either in Tao's incense burner/their pokeball, patrolling Megaopolis from the rooftops, or by their Master's side.

• Feelers by his ears that allow him to sense the most subtle changes in the atmosphere.

Past/Future Sight

Able to see into the past or future. This ability is very different how his mother Liu Er sees into the past and future. Tao can only see one type of vision at a time. The triggers for both visions are very different and he can only see one type at a time. The inner color of his each represent the past (Purple) and the future (Yellow). When having either vision, his eye swill glow a pearlescent white color, and some kind of sparkling dust matching the color of the inside ear comes out of the corresponding set of ears.

The past visions are usually triggered by physically touching an object that either has a spirit or spiritual energy attached. Places that have a lot of spiritual energy can also trigger a vision the moment Tao finds a high enough concentration of energy. Sometimes he will move around during these visions, coming to in places he didn't pass out in.

Future visions are different with the exception of the glowing eyes and yellow dust. These visions can happen at any time, and leave Tao completely immobile until it ends.

Those who ingest the dust from either set of ears will temporarily gain the ability of future sight or past visions. These only have one use and may drive one mad the more they ingest. Humans and demons from all over sought to capture Tao for his oracle abilities, and to collect the dust he creates during a future vision.

Yang Samadhi Fire

Unlike what has been told about this powerful flame, in reality it was split into two seperate pieces long before the birth of Red Son. Tao possesses the 'Yang Half' of this flame, equally as powerful as the 'Yin' Half Red Son was born with. What is different about this flame is that ist is less likely to be triggered by emotion, but for Tao anger is the only trigger outside of activating the flames himself.

The flame tends to have more untriggered power behind it despite being of equal power to the Yin half. This flame tends to have a higher power output in the spring and summer months in accordance to Yin and Yang. It is a calmer flame compared to the Yin half, which feeds off of the emotions of it's host, and in Red Son and Mei's case makes it harder for the host to control their emotions.

The Yang Half of the flames is the only thing capable of completely calming the flames of the Yin.

In the primal days, the combined flames were said to scorch anything it touched into nothing, and was split in two in an attempt to mitigate the intense damage it caused when it raged unchecked. For the time being, the Samadhi Fire will remain seperated until the proper time.

Water Manipulation The ability to use and manipulate water (In a similar mannter to the water benders of ATLA, but with some differences.) to his whim.

Thanks to the maleability of the water in his body plus the blessing of the White Snake, Tao is able to extend his limbs far past their normal limits. when using this ability they can move around as if there are no bones in his arms. They can also extend and retract at will.

An extension of this ability is an extremely dangerous one,

Blood Bending

Tao is able to control the blood of living beings, being completely capable of controlling their bodies. Most beings can attempt to resist and break free, but anyone blood related to Tao will be unable to control their body until he releases them. This only works on Wukong, Macaque and Chun. Tao doesn't like using this power often, however he often uses liquid bending to help defeat any construct that uses a similar circulatory-like system.

When they were younger, Tao would often cause some unintentional issues, as when she cried, rain would start to fall in a certain raduis around him and quickly become monsoon level rains if left unchecked.

Siren Song

Tao has a singing voice similar to the likes of sea sirens, being able to influence and/or control others through his voice. His voice is also powerful enough to rip flesh off of bone should he choose to use it, or cause the user hearing it to go mad. However this power is rarely used due to Tao not wanting to cause potential death and/or property damage. The inside of her mouth glows yellow when using this ability. Glamours/Illusions

Tao can use glamour to take on a human appearance at any time, and prefers to not look so much like a monkie. He can also make illusions with his shadow abilities.

Water Warping/Portals

Tao is capable of using a very unique method of travel similar to shadow warping. The main difference is the stream of magic that is being used. Warping through water is usually done by oracles, as the stream of water magic used to travel is also the closest to the timespace stream, the flow of time and space around that entire dimension, In it's own pocket dimension, a seemingly strange place where water flows around breathable air in a tubelike tunnel from all sides. This is an area that only oracles can access, and with the floating islands scattered about it is safe for them to make living areas there.

Water Portals

These take more concentration to use, but are very handy for travel; as the requirement for warping is different. Unless the place is somewhere Tao has visited before, he can warp to and from any large puddle or body of water to anywhere in the world, even places he hasnt visited before.

Tao can also breathe underwater, but doesn't really need to breathe at all.

Primal Diety

Tao and his sister have full control over certain elements, regardless of the control gods from China and other pantheons have. In other words, an example being that the gods of the sea (ex. Posiedon) loose their control if Tao extends his control of water to the entire planet, same with fire.

Misty Form

Tao can turn himself into mist at will and change back at any time. He is more succeptable to being trapped in items like jars with an airtight lid or enchanted items of the same ilk, but he can return to a shrunken form at any time, or change back to his normal size and potentially break the item holding him if it isn't strong enough to contain him.

Fairly Recent Abilities

Tao was kidnapped by the Spider Queen some time during her attempted takeover of Megaopolis in the season 2 finale. See tried to turn them into a spider demon, but the only thing the venom did was give her silk glands in her hands that produce high quality enchanted silk (Silk moth like silk). This is abnormal since there is no other creature that can create enchanted silk naturally, so Spider Queen took quick advantage of this, using Tao as a silk producer for her takeover. Unfortunately making so much silk at once caused Tao's pawpads to become agitated and inflamed, and they stopped producing enchanted silk. Fortunately he managed to escape before the Lady Bone Demon tried to capture him for his half of the Samadhi fire.

The silk strands come out through the pawpads on their hands, and by pressing them together and stretching his arms apart, the silk forms into thick, glowing strands with each motion. This raw material can be used in many products from clothing to armor to fabric.

Misc. Info

• Tao is capable of storing immense amounts of magical power and has more potent magic than his twin sister. His snake heads, when not hands can sink their fangs into a person and suck their life essence and even their soul from their body.

• They a connection to death and the 10 kings, and his mist magic is capable of acting on its own and raising the dead, mainly those who's lives were tragically cut short.

• She sometimes sleepwalks, and depending on the phase of the tide, either moves around like a slow shambling zombie (low tide) or gets aggressive in his sleep and goes into water kaiju form (High Tide). this is one of the only times the water form becomes aggressive.

• Being physically intersex leaves him a target for European alchemists from all over.

• Sometimes purple and gold christhamanthemums spring from her bare feet whenever they touch natural ground. (Think Amaterasu from okami when she runs) these flowers have very potent medical properties.

• Their familiars are an extension of his magic and personality given form, and usually reside in his incense burner/Pokeballs/Shadow (Yang only) when not needed or resting.

• Her fire antlers were once crystal-like purple horns, that upon awakening the samadhi fire burst into flame. These flames started small in the beginning, but grew with age. They shrink to a smaller size during sleep.
