This is the cosmology of the world, shown as a traditional wooden carving on a piece of wood with gilded bark.

On the very top of the map, the phrase "The God of the Skysea supervises all things" is carved in the "angular form" of the script, with more angular lines and a wider, bigger style being better for carving into wood.

The first level of the map (the one with a row of jellyfish patterning) is called the Dome of the Sea, or in the Acting Snails' language "the Water Sky". It is at the very bottom of the world, and is home to deep sea creatures like anglerfish, just like in our world. Most importantly, however, is the many jellyfish that live here. They are aimless souls that haven't had the chance to find an organism to live in yet.

The second level of the map (the thick line between the Dome of the Sea and the space with 3 jellyfish), is the Great Opaque, or "the God of the Skysea's thing" in the Acting Snails' language. The Great Opaque is a giant wall of fog created by the God of the Skysea that seperates the Dome of the Sea and the Dome of the Sky (level 6) from the world in between. This is to prevent desperate souls from going into the world and entering whatever thing they can find, causing strange organisms such as living rocks or reanimated corpses appearing.

The Opaque also serves as a portal, and when a soul in the Dome of the Sea touches the Great Opaque, it will be transformed fron a jellyfish to a star, and vice versa for the Dome of the Sky.

On exeptionally sunny days, one can look up into the sky and through the fog, see the sea, and look into the sea and see the sky. On days like this, Rifts of Sky and Rifts of Sea (the tree stumpy looking things) can appear, as the Great Opaque is extremely weak in this time. Rifts are gigantic holes that appear in the Opaque, when a soul touches a weak part of it. The soul widens the hole until it can pass through in a very dramatic way. (more on this next time) Collectively, the Great Opaque, Dome of the Sea and the Dome of the Sky are called the "Skysea".

The next three levels are the Stage of the Sea, the Stage of the Islands and the Stage of the Sky, the middle three levels in the carving. The Stage of the Sea is where we can find fish, coral and some of the seabed. Spirits that pass though the Great Opaque on the Dome of the Sea's side can occasionally be found here.

The Stage of the Islands are the blobs in the middle, and are where the Acting Snails' civilization is located.

The Stage of the Sky contains most of the atmosphere, and is where most of the birds are located.

Even further up, we find the Great Opaque again, and beyond that the Dome of the Sky. It is an impossibly tall mesh-net covering the planet, with the sun and moon beyond it. The purpose of this net is to prevent souls from escaping into space, so they can still enter organisms when it's their turn. Here, they take the form of firey orbs of light.

Oh yes, little Ari was certain—it would not be long before the pretty Moon came out to play and envelopes the world once cheerful with daylight in darkness, and, in turn, brings their delightful adventure to an end. 

So the little one maintained a tight grip on Fred's hand as she pulled him along, guiding him towards the natural dips in the earth and the man - made pockets on the dirt road that were sure to be filled with water after such a shower. Thankfully, Fred seemed cautious and more aware of her clumsy nature, so no time was wasted when she would inevitably stumble over her own two feet, for speed is what often made them most pesky. 

" www … we have to take out the sna … the snails first, please! " Ari instructed with a jovial tone, not bothering to turn around and face Fred as she spoke—for, again, there was so little time left, and not a moment was to be wasted. " I … I brrr … I brought my bucket, a … and I'm gonna put aaaall the sna … the snails in my bucket! "

Who are your OCs?

AHHHH. Okay. So. Let's get into it I love them.

Under the cut cause I go on for a bit. Whoops.

SO!

First we have Beau, this tall ass, lanky as hell ginger who has this GIANT fucking crush on his neighbor, Avis. They're sims that I STILL HAVE, and made years ago. 😭 anyways. So the story goes, he is living at home with his parents across from this elderly woman and they are besties because I too cannot exist without the love of a grandmother.

She ends up not being able to take care of her garden that well after a while, so her granddaughter, Avis, comes to take over the gardening house care and it is just. Crush at first sight, like he's a MESS.

Avis is of course the neighbor and granddaughter. She is dark-skinned with curly hair, sunflower tattoos, and gap teeth. She is the dorkiest oc I have 😭 girl goes bonkers for nature. She has frogs and snails for pets, loves to fish and garden, and cooks extremely well, but always makes too much so of course she shares with the cute guy that she makes blush next door.

It's just a cute, sappy story with two dorks.

Next are my personal faves, my elf and orc characters! My elfs name is Io. She has curly, white hair that looks like a cloud, brown skin, and eyes that look a bit like Io, the moon. Tall, very graceful and elegant, quiet and reserved.

Her love interest is an orc named Tulgen and he is just *chefs kiss* a thick man(think Thor from the upcoming god of war game. Fucking sexy)with green skin, black hair, tusks, and a surprisingly well-maintained beard that he lets her braid❤ the definition of asshole to the world, sweetheart to his girl.

Their story is that Tulgen was traveling through the forest with his band of misfits, got lost and they stumbled into the elf village where Io lived.

He thought she was beautiful and all that but didn't really think all that much of her cause she's an elf, and she's not rough and tough. She's delicate and gentle and listen to me, he likes his women tough, I mean it. No interest in the pretty elf. 😤

Anyways the two of them got to know each other when Io was tasked with leading all of them safely through the forest and to their destination. It's a very sweet love story.

And third up is Jet and Selkie.

These two are again, some sims I made because I'm a loser. Selkie is not in a fact a selkie, and rather just a girl whose family is obsessed with the ocean (Hello, my actual obsession with the ocean/ this is what happens when you grow up by the beach in Florida.. Why do half my OCS revolve around things I like)

She is studying to be a marine biologist and is an avid surfer. She has wavy black hair, and she dyes half of it blue. Because water. Surprise, another brown-skinned woman, because I'm brown and I like to see characters who look like me, and has an arm sleeve of jellyfish, and various other aquatic tattoos.

Jet is an anxious artist and programmer who lives near the beach that she frequents, and is roommates with a surfer who is a friend of hers. Their story is that Selkie is good bros with Jets roommate and one day Jet joins him for a beach party, to get his monthly socialization quota met, and meets Selkie. He thinks she's weird and a little too loud, but he finds himself insanely inspired by her for some reason and starts making art that focuses on her, without really understanding why. (He's actually crushing that's why.) So he decides to actually get to know her and just. Falls in love.

'and the thing is', the sun said to her lover (alpha centauri who's millions of light years away but they talk in snail mail) 'the moon looks at me the way you do, but i see her sooner than i see you. for you are so distant and cold to me, and i want to hold hands but my celestial winds only blow my fires out as far as half the distance to mercury and mercury is scorned, scorched, sunburnt.'

alpha centauri responds, 'my love, i don't want to be so cold but i live far away from you and you know i have jobs to do, responsibilities that keep me from coming over to you. i would hold your hand if i could. if she (the moon) makes you happy then i wish you all the best, but please remember that i love you dearly and want you to stay.'

(the moon, eavesdropping, twirls away to hide her tears. she loves the sun, yes, but their love is forbidden. warmth attracts warmth and the moon, she's so cold, and alpha centauri is blasting hot, and when the sun has to choose, she knows she'll choose her likeness)
