The PRIDE Warrior Cats project of the day is "You Right" by sad machine! This project was requested by @owlblaze. This PMV takes place during Squirrelflight's Hope, and has Squirrelflight fall in love with Moonlight, but at the same time not want to leave Bramblestar. Bramblestar and Squirrelflight are both bright red/orange to symbolize their hotheadedness, but Moonlight is a calm blue, balancing Squirrelflight out. The tweening in this PMV is fantastic and I love the designs!

OKAY SO!! i haven’t read past the last hope so i went and read up on her entire wiki page and WOW. what a fascinating character. i think i really like her, she seems complex and multilayered. she clearly did care about and love tree but let her traditions and rules blind her to his pain and led to her abusive behaviour. she’s repeating a cycle of abuse that she benefits from and not considering how her traditions negatively affect others.

also can i mention how fucked up the clans treatment of the sisters was?? are we supposed to get behind that? they were literally going to leave once the kits were born but the clans were like “actually we want your land NOW so we’re going to kill a nursing mother and orphan a bunch of kits <3” and the way they shat all over the sisters traditions as if the clan traditions made any more sense! like oh yeah sure casting out tomcats is barbaric and cruel but forbidding your doctors from having children is totally fine and normal.

additionally, i feel like people built moonlight up to be much more abusive than she turned out to be? like yeah, she was definitely abusive but she also wasnt one-dimensionally evil. the fact i’ve seen people call tigerclawstar a good father but moonlight an irredeemable monster is insane to me.

at least, that’s my interpretation of her character, i would love to hear other people’s opinions!

okay i just remembered the dreams i had last night. one of them was about squirrelflight.

in my dream the 3 WERE her kittens that she gave birth to, but for some reason she still ended up being far away from camp when they were born, and she had a hard pregnancy, but Moonlight was there to watch over her and for some reason there was also a unicorn there.

and when i woke up i was like woah. AU time???
