You watched as Catra aimed to claw Scorpia's face. Luckily she back away just in time. You looked around, trying to see if anyone would stand up to Catra, but everyone was avoiding looking at them.

"You can't treat her like that!"

Catra looked towards all the cadets, "Who said that." She pointed a finger towards you all.

They all took a step back, leaving you at the front line. "Backstabbing snitches," You groan under your breath.

"What do you know about being Force Captain?" She asks, walking closer to you.

"I know how to treat my teammates. No wonder Adora left."

You knew the moment those words left your mouth you were a dead woman. Lonnie was about to speak up, but Catra raised her hand. "Everyone leave."

"But-"

Catra whips around towards Scorpia, "LEAVE NOW! ALL OF YOU." You were about to turn around, but Catra points towards you, "Expect you... Y/n, right?"

"What does it matter?"

She didn't speak until the last cadet left the room. But, not before Scorpia looked back, giving you a look of sympathy.

"You stepped out of line, Soldier."

"I sure did. And I would do it again. You were out of line-"

Her laugh interrupts you. She gestures to the room, "Do you know where we are, Y/n?"

"The Horde?"

"Hell. We are in Hell. This isn't Princess land, you've got to look out for yourself."

"That's a terrible thing to say, Catra."

"Well, it's true and that's why I'm Force Captain and you're just a Soldier."

"Yeah, but you're also willing to step on anyone that gets in your way."

"Maybe you should be more like me."

"I'd rather be dead."

"Well, if you ever," She steps closer to you, causing you to step back, "Try standing up to me again, I will give you death." She retracts her claws, bringing them close to your face.

You gulp, tilting your head up.

"Don't ever cross me again."

For the past two months, since the incident, Catra had decided to keep you close. She didn't need anyone thinking they could act like you and step up to her. If they saw that she kept you in line, they'd learn there are consequences.

She had you on cleaning duties, but she was always present when you did it. She said it was to make sure you did it right, but you think she has a sick twisted pleasure in watching people suffer.

You snarled, scrubbing at the walls of the cafeteria. Catra sat at one of the tables, her feet propped up on the table. She leaned on her hand and you looked up at her frustrated.

"Can I stop now? I've been doing this for 5 hours."

"I haven't broken a sweat."

"I hate you."

"I'll live. Besides I don't care."

You roll your eyes and continue to scrub. Catra gets up from her seat, stretching out her back. She sighs, before kneeing to your level, "Come with me."

"Where?"

"You ask to many questions. Come," She uses the 'Come here' motion.

You begrudgingly and reluctantly follow behind her. She took you down familiar paths and doors, before leading you to Cadet Rooms. You hadn't been in these rooms in ages.

"Lay down," She gestures to the bed that you assumed was once hers and Adora's.

You awkwardly lay on the uncomfortable bed, struggling to fit inside the small compartment. She laughed at your struggle and you glare at her. She jumps on you, practically sitting on your bladder, just like a fucking cat.

"God, Catra, can you move?"

She rolls her eyes, but moves her legs and scoots up your chest. She puts her pointer finger on your forehead, lightly pushing you back.

"Why don't you just lay down, Y/n?"

"This isn't a very comfortable bed, Catra."

"Nothing's comfortable in the Horde. Now shut up," She shoves you down, hard.

You groan when feeling the hard concrete-like beds slam into your back. God, you were now realizing why you had back problems. She slowly rubbed herself on you, confusing you.

You were going to question what the FUCK she was doing, but you heard her whimper the name 'Adora' and you made a face of realization. You tried pushing against her, but she quickly grabbed your hands.

"If you let me do this, you'll never have to clean the food court again."

You spread your legs and pulled back your hands, "So what are we doing?"

"WE're not doing anything. You're going to shut up and I'm going to do what I want," She gets off you, before grabbing something from a cabinet.

You were scared, but it was just a cadet's headset. You were confused, but she put it on you and your vision was obscured. You could no longer see Catra, but you could feel her rubbing against you.

"You're such a bitch," You could feel her hands grip your throat. You reached for her, trying to stop her, "I don't know why you left. Why you think those stupid princesses are better than me."

You could feel your face redden at the buzzing sound of Catra's voice. Where these helmets always bad at taking in sound? Huh, maybe you had a hearing problem? You could feel the removal of your pants and you froze.

"Um Catra-"

"Shut up, Adora."

You could feel her sharp claws get threateningly close to your neck. She slowly thrusted into you back and forth. The only thing you could hear was her light moans of Adora's name and 'Yes! Mmmm, yeah! Ahhh.' Man, you wish you were on whatever the hell she was on.

You then felt something wet run across your cervix. The claws you were terrified of, but would never admit due to your pride, were circling around your clit, pressing into it. You could feel her stick her tongue down your vagina, and squish your gummy walls.

Catra could feel your gummy walls squeeze and flush against her sharp tongue. Your body shivers as you feel her little spines roughly groom your insides. She licked up your opening, making sure you're soaked.

Adora - the show

Glimmer - All the powers she ever dreamt on PLUS the political power as defacto leader of the princess alliance PLUS the one everyone looks up to for moral judgement calls and the one everyone expects to save them from all the ills of the world. I'm sure that responsibility and call to her overwhemling hubris won't target her crippling insecurities or anythying.

Bow - Wait, who's that masked stranger? It's BOW-RA! HERE TO SAVE YOU, CITIZEN. Plays really well at defence but not the offensive force for the Princess Alliance that Adora was. Also, you know how stressed he is to be the Friend Guy that tries to keep everything together? Now he's the friend-guy with the entire WORLD.

Catra - The Horde is fucking WRECKED in a week. Hordak is dead. Catra sits on the throne. Shadow Weaver… bows for Cat-Ra in deepest respect. She tells her that she was wrong to treat Catra the way she did. She always, secretly, respected Catra. She… YOINK! SWORD STOLEN! HAH, CAN'T BELIEVE YOU FELL FOR THAT.

Shadow Weaver - Run. Just run.

Angella - Finally she can keep everyone safe. The sound of cannons outside the wall? If she tries REALLY hard sometimes she can block that sound out.

Micha - Would turn out pretty much like Adora, I think.

Lonnie - the war is over in a day. I hope your opinion of "peace" is "magically enforced military dictatorship", because that's what you are getting - regardless of which side she is on.

Entrapta - SCIENCE! Forget heroics, someone just handed ENTRAPTA the master admin password for the entire PLANET! She can run Doom on this thing. Just look out for when she starts overclocking.

Mermista - SEA-RA! (Being a hero is too much like work, once the heroics grow stale. But everything considered the war wouldn't be TOO different from the main show. Also - Sea Hawk would be even more insufferable, singing her praise).

Perfuma - Good vibes for EVERYONE. She would try SO HARD to find peaceful solutions, but once in awhile give in to the temptation of hitting people with flowers.

i don't think it's a very popular ship but what do you think about catra x lonnie?

obviously they had zero romantic interactions in canon, but just based off their personalities, do you think they would make an interesting couple? i feel like a rivals to lovers trope could be done between them, if written by actually good writers.

Now... that's a ship I never thought about, honestly.

I mostly think of Adora x Lonnie personally, because I feel like canon Catra and Lonnie's relationship is too hostile to me. But you know, I would've liked Lonnie to have a bigger role in Catra's arc. Or a bigger role in the Horde, honestly. It surprises me Lonnie was never Force Captain or something like that. Like maybe she proves herself and she and Catra start working together. Lonnie resents Adora for leaving as well, so maybe they could bond there? From the little we know about Lonnie, she seems cynical but also observant of her surroundings. That could've worked with Catra, I believe, who refuses to let anyone see her insecurities. And instead of shaming Catra for it, maybe Lonnie reluctantly starts having heart-to-hearts with her.

As much as I like Scorpia, Lonnie seemed to actually take things seriously. And of course, her having more of a role would actually deepen the supposed friendship Catra and Adora have with the Horde trio.

Well, this is all I could really think of, and I hope it makes sense. I still can't really see anything romantic between them, even with these scenarios I came up with, but I do think it would be better than C//A lmao.

Your opinion on SPOP's Kyle?

Kyle is....

A character with LOTS of lost potential and focus!

It's very sad that Noelle (and even most of the fandom) always goes on about how Catra is traumatized, deserves better, and deserves to be happy, even though she's part of the reason for most of the conflicts that happen in the entirely of the series run. However, Kyle's abuse, trauma, and treatment are just seen as jokes, even to the point of being stuck with two individuals who barely care for him or defend him.

Look, I understand that Lonnie and Rogelio grew up in the Horde, so they won't be as sympathetic, affectionate, or justice-minded when it comes to Kyle, but how about ones like Adora? Or Scorpia? KYLE??? There are some good-hearted people in the Horde, so it shouldn't be an excuse, at least not entirely. And yes, this is part of the reason why I've grown to dislike Kyle x Lonnie x Rogelio as a OTP3/poly ship.

I just feel that Kyle deserves better than what Rogelio and Lonnie can give him. As a group of best friends and comrades who get better as things go on? Sure, maybe. But as lovers? Nope. Not in a million years.

Also, Kyle should have joined the Rebellion at some point in the series??? Because from what we've seen, Kyle REALLY isn't a bad person??? He's more of the victim than anything. And honestly? I thought that was going to happen at first.

Oh, but he would be leaving his fellow comrades you may ask? He would leave his "family" you may ask? He would just be leaving Lonnie and Rogelio behind, just like Adora did to Catra YOU MAY ASK? Welp, GOOD!

Adora has always made it clear that she was leaving the Horde, NOT Catra. So why can't that be the same case with Kyle? The abuse victim leaving a toxic society, for HIS SELF first before anybody else? The abuse victim who's often physically, emotionally, mentally, and verbally abused by the Horde? Even by Lonnie and Rogelio???

While not nearly as bad, they still aren't as much as good friends as I originally thought. Yes, not all friends are perfect, but I just legitimately think Kyle deserves better friends and comrades, and why not better friends like the BF squad? And before anyone says something like "that's a bad idea" or "why does everyone have to be part of the BF squad?", say that again, but instead of imagining Kyle in the squad, put Catra in, the actual character that was able to be part of the BF squad by that end of series, despite everything that she's done and personally done to the BFS's?

"She has development and genuine interactions with all of them!" So can Kyle. Also, she has done arguably more harm to all three of them than Kyle has ever done. Also, am I the only one who feels like the BFS getting along with Catra was OOC for them, especially for Glimmer and Adora? Not to mention that Kyle has also been wronged by Catra.

"That would ruin the dynamic!" So that ruins the dynamic when Kyle joins, but not Catra? How? Why?

"She deserves nice things!" So does Kyle.

"She was traumatized and abused!" So was Kyle.

"She would be left out and have nobody!" Things that she's partly responsible for. That's not the BFS's fault.

"Catra with the BF squad just feels right!" And what's stopping Kyle from being in the BF squad and it being "just right"?

I think I know what this is about, but I rather not say...

Kyle is the abused and traumatized victim that deserved just as much acknowledgment as any other character in this series. He deserves acknowledgment for himself and his issues. He deserves friends who will love him and be there for him. He deserves to be told that his feelings matter. He deserves love, friends, and happiness.

What if season 5 was two seasons?

So watching through season 5, I kept noticing how fast the pacing had to be with the amount plot threads there were and how often I went ‘I wish we saw more of X’. So as I’ve mentioned a couple of times, I’ve started wondering if it might’ve been better if its story had been spread over two seasons rather than one. Now, obviously I understand that kind of change would not have been in the crew’s hands and no matter what they wanted would likely have been impossible. This is not intended as a ‘they should’ve just done this’ but as a thought experiment. Would a sixth season even have worked? So I’m gonna try and figure out how season 5′s content might’ve been done over two seasons in an alternate universe. In order to keep straight how far in the seasons we are, I’m gonna number the episodes 5-1 to 5-13 and 6-1 to 6-13 for clarity.

-5-1: We’re gonna start off immediately inserting an extra episode: The Fall of Bright Moon. Rather than a time skip, we get to see the first days of the invasion and the evacuation of Bright Moon in the face of overwhelming force. Micah has to switch back into being king, Adora has to deal with losing She-Ra, Bow has to deal with losing Glimmer. There’s a major subplot about Scorpia working up the courage to apologise to Entrapta and the two of them reconnecting. Perfuma probably helps her with that. That sounds like a pretty busy episode, but I think the first two Velvet Glove scenes from Horde Prime should probably be moved to it to not just leave Catra and Glimmer hanging completely.

-5-2 to 5-4: Horde Prime, Launch, and Corridors stay mostly the same. Since I moved the first Velvet Glove scenes to 5-1 and we can probably cut a bit of exposition from Horde Prime with the addition of that episode, these episodes get a couple minutes extra, which is split between an extra Glimmer and Catra in jail scene and some more of Scorpia and Entrapta’s friendship in Launch.

-5-5 and 5-6: An extra season gives us time for worldbuilding and more of the new characters, and since I like the Star siblings I’m gonna selfishly give them a bunch more screen time. The plan to save Catra takes more preparation in this version, leading Best Friend Squad and the Star siblings to go on an adventure on another planet after Stranded, one that is under Horde occupation but hasn’t been destroyed by them. They’re there for either information or some kind of device they’ll need to get on the Velvet Glove, but end up sowing the seeds for a local rebellion on the planet. We’ll see more of that plot later on.

-5-7: Save the Cat. It’s perfect as is.

-5-8: Taking Control’s A plot, enhanced with some scenes from Don’t Go into a full episode.

-5-9: This is where Taking Control’s B plot with the chipped Etherians goes. To go with it, Best Friend Squad is going on another space adventure after a rendez-vous with the Star siblings while they try and escape the Horde. I’m thinking maybe Hordak could be one of the clones searching for them, and while he doesn’t come face-to-face with Entrapta we could see some more of his conflicting feelings building in the course of this. Just a moment’s hesitation on his part allows Best Friend Squad to escape. Catra befriending Glimmer and Bow is a major part of this episode, and it basically bridges the gap between the little overtures between them in Taking Control and Catra as a part of Best Friend Squad in Shot in the Dark.

-5-10: Kyle, Lonnie, and Rogelio only get a cameo in season 5, and that’s something I really want to change. I want to give them a ‘Lower Decks’ episode where they’re basically just trying to go about their lives post-Horde but rapidly discovering the war is impossible to ignore. I feel like we don’t see enough of the normal Etherians in general, and I think these three are a great way to show how they’re doing.

-5-11: Perils of Peekablue. However, the scene at the end where it turns out Micah is already chipped and so are enormous amounts of Etherians doesn’t happen yet.

-5-12 and 5-13: So now I need to have a big season finale happen, and unfortunately Shot In The Dark, while a great episode, is also a little too low-energy to fit the bill. So what I’m gonna do is make it the B-plot of a finale two-parter. The A-plot is set on Etheria, and is basically some big climactic business where the Princesses, General Juliet, (remember her?) and many common Etherians take the fight back to the chipped princesses, and things go well until disaster strikes and Micah gets chipped. Pretty vague, I know. The ‘Lower Decks’ episode we did sets up a lot of the plot here; Lonnie, Rogelio, and Kyle are probably involved in it. The two-parter ends with the big ‘Oh fuck everyone’s chipped’ moment at the end of Perils of Peekablueas the big season-ending cliffhanger. After that scene, we switch to Best Friend Squad landing on Etheria, and that’s how season 5 ends.

-6-1: I think An Ill Wind would be a solid season opener as is.

-6-2 to 6-10: Yeah, I’m gonna take this whole block of episodes in one go, because this is where it gets complicated. Return to the Fright Zone and Failsafe take place in this block, but it’s beyond my ability to figure out the full plot developments of this entire season. While for season 5 I can keep to the structure of Best Friend Squad’s space adventure, season 6 is gonna be a lot more freeform, and would presumably have major plot elements added. Here’s my thoughts on these nine episodes:

-The chipped princesses get unchipped earlier. They provide good heartwrenching moments, cool bossfights, and allow for major villains ranking below Prime without having to introduce new characters, but I think ultimately it does the chipped princesses a disservice since they just don’t get to show character in the second half of the season. Just compare how well we know Netossa as a character with how well we know Spinnerella. So they get unchipped over the course of these episodes and get to be with the Rebellion again afterwards. Mermista and Spinnerella get unchipped the same way as in canon. Scorpia actually gets to talk while chipped and has a heartwrenching confrontation with Catra in which she basically responds in the worst possible ways to Catra’s regrets (the same way we saw chipped Catra basically being am expression of her worst traits) and they have a fight that’s super rough for Catra, but Catra manages to damage her chip and save her. They have a better chat afterwards, and that’s when they make up and hug it out. I think Micah is the last one to be unchipped, and I might actually keep him chipped until Heart, Part 1 so Glimmer still gets that climactic confrontation with him. Now, a possible concern is that this means there’s just not gonna be enough ‘bosses’ around to fight in Heart. Solutions to this could include for example advanced robots, chipped minor characters like Huntara, Dumbface Octavia, and alien monsters. Maybe Hordak? Though I definitely want him back on the Velvet Glove’s bridge in time to give Prime his date with gravity.

-So that’s sort of the major arc, but there are several characters and plot threads that I feel could easily be an episode’s A- or B-plot in this bunch:

*Catra is mortified when she realises she caused Angella’s death and has a big freak-out over it and tries to run away, Glimmer confronts her and they deal with their feelings on the matter

*Another Kyle, Lonnie, and Rogelio episode

*A Wrong Hordak episode where he discovers his own identity and picks a name, also feat. Entrapta’s attempts to reach out to Hordak

*Madame Razz episode where Adora tries to get her help, possibly involving the Crystal Castle and George and Lance

*Sea Hawk and Double Trouble drama kids adventure where they try to save Mermista (I think Mermista vs. Sea Hawk and Mermista being unchipped gets moved to the end of this episode). These two were delightful for the little time we saw them together in Perils of Peekablue and I want Sea Hawk to somehow rope Double Trouble into an adventure.

*All the space adventures and world building I put in season 5 coming to a head when some form of space reinforcements led by the Star siblings come to help.

*And of course Return to the Fright Zone and Failsafe.

-6-11 to 6-13: Heart is now a three-parter, deal with it. Horde Prime is beaten at the end of part 2, or more likely the start of part 3, and the rest of part 3 is that sweet dénouement I crave.

So with all that laid out, let’s return to the question: would this work? I think if it had originally been written to be two seasons, the story could have easily worked for two. As is, I’m retrofitting a single season to be two, so some of the stuff I’ve added sounds rather redundant or vague. There are certainly enough plotlines and characters to make a split work, but of course those would’ve had to have been written into the plot from the start to not feel tacked on. Of course, brevity is the soul of wit, so even if two seasons had been an option, it’s quite possible a single that has too little time is still better than two that have too much.

Fandom ask game

Favourite Character: Catra! Loved her from the first promotional picture. After the first season I got a poster of her on my wall and then spent the next few years desperately hoping for her redemption/happiness, and s5 delieved both and absolutely cemented her as my #1

least favourite character: Hordak. If people like him that’s fine, I just don’t get it. Like, I hate Horde Prime and Shadow Weaver - but it’s because your supposed to and they’re good antagonists. With Hordak we never saw much of him as an antagonist before we were supposed to sympathise with him (which I did not), and I don’t really care for either villain or sort-of-redemmed Hordak. 

Wrong Hordak on the other hand.... amazing. 

brOTP: Best Friend Squad!! And I love Catra and Scorpia as a dynamic duo

OTP: Catradora! They’re my #3 favourite ship of all time

OT3: Glitradora - you get the friends-enemies-friends-lovers of Catradora, the princess and her knight of Glimmadora, and the enemies/narrative foils of Glitra. Love it! All their different dynamics as wonderful. 

NOTP: Aside from like, the canon lesbian characters being shipped with guys (gross) or any bad age-gap/power imbalance ships (also gross) there’s nothing I really dislike. I’m not a fan on Entrapta and Hordak as a romantic couple, I see them more as a qpr, but they’re not so much a ‘notp’ as just something I don’t personally ship

Favourite storyline: SAVE THE CAT!!! Corridors set everything up beautifully, but fighting someone you love who’s being mind controlled to attack you is one of the BEST TROPES ever and everything else about the episode is so amazing. Glimmer getting revenge, Bow and Entrapta meeting Wrong Hordak, Horde Prime as a terrifying villain, Catra becoming a part of the team and the way Adora brings back She-Ra!?!?!?! 

10/10 absolutely wonderful. Princess Prom is also up there

Least favourite storyline: Protocol. Very boring. I don’t like Light Hope, and while I love the Horde Trio I was hoping for a lot more with them throughout the show and this was their big moment?? Disappointing. Other than this one, the rest of the show is good. 

what I wish had happened but didn’t: honestly the 5th season was amazing and really satisfying. There were two sets of characters I felt were underused, but they were minor characters in the first place so I get it, but I still wish we’d seen more of Huntara and the Horde Trio. 

Also while Scorfuma is wonderful, I’d been shipping Lonnie x Scorpia since s2 and Perfuma x Huntara since s4 - they both had such amazing chemistry and dynamics!! I wish they’d ended up together (with proper build up), or at least got to interact again. 

what happened that I wish hadn’t: Angella and Mara dying rather than being trapped in the portal (I think it’s still implied they’re trapped? But... impossible to get to or something?) And no one talks about it again!! The team needs to go save them! I understand fighting Horde Prime took priority, but I wish there’d been a mention of an idea or design or something to use for the future. 

Holding out for that in a She-Ra movie!!!

Summary so far of my She-Ra Lonnie: Lonnie x Adora AU

Because I can't stop thinking about it.

1.) The set up remains mostly the same. Lonnie, Adora, Kyle, Rogelio and Catra are in the same Horde squad. Lonnie and Adora are at the top of their squad--AND THEY'RE GIRLFRIENDS W O W! Adora gets promoted to Force Captain by Shadow Weaver, she remains Shadow Weaver's 'favorite'. Lonnie suggests they go on a joyride to celebrate, before her Force Captain duties tie her down. They skiff out to the Whispering Woods, but Lonnie is the one knocked off. She finds the Sword and sees the visions. Adora quickly finds her and they head back to the Fright Zone.

2.) Catra, the snitch and cadet no one likes because she's sour and mean, sees them return after hours and decides to keep an eye on them. Lonnie continues to have visions of the Sword and tries to sneak out to find it again. Adora catches her, but Lonnie doesn't want her to get caught and lose her promotion, so she stays behind.

Queue the events of the first episode!! Lonnie runs into Bow and Glimmer, they all get lost together, Lonnie transforms into She-Ra, they get to Thaymor, wow parties! WOW HORSES!

3.) Thaymor is attacked by the Horde. When Lonnie didn't return, Adora organized a force to come find her assuming she'd run into trouble in the woods. They find her and begin decimating the village. Changed by her new friends and new She-Ra form, she tells Adora what the Horde has been doing, that they have to go and offers for Adora to come with her.

Confused, but not ignorant to the destruction around her, Adora reaches for Lonnie's hand, hesitant but trusting her. That's when the rest of the Horde forces swarm in and jar them apart. Lonnie must fight them off as She-Ra and the retreating forces take Adora with them.

4.) Without a home now, and afraid for what might happen to Adora, Lonnie is consoled by Bow and Glimmer who give her a home in Bright Moon and help her learn how to become She-Ra. They begin working together to reconstruct the Princess Alliance, but from there the story changes. Adora is tasked to find Lonnie and bring her back to the Fright Zone. She is partnered with Force Captain Scorpia, and while Adora doesn't reveal that she was about to mutiny, she does bond with Scorpia. Trusting her with most other things.

5.) In Salineas, they track the BFS down and while her friends fight off the incoming Horde ship, Adora manages to corner Lonnie at the Sea Gate. Initially thinking Adora is trying to attack, Lonnie is surprised when Adora breaks down. As it turns out, she's been afraid for her life since returning to the Fright Zone. SW and Hordak are piling on responsibilities. She WANTED to go with Lonnie. She doesn't want to hurt people anymore. But it's too late, she's trapped. Before Lonnie can offer a solution, Adora and Scorpia’s ship is blown up and Adora retreats.

The BFS celebrates a Horde defeat AND a new member of the Alliance in Mermista. But Lonnie mourns the loss of her gf.

5.) Adora begins reconnaissance in the Fright Zone. Realizing she may be trapped for good, the only way she can think to help Lonnie is from the inside. So she begins to act as a double agent. Spying on Hordak and SW, sending secret code to Bow (who at first doesn't know who is hacking his commpad) to alert them of Horde attacks.

6.) Thanks to Adora’s intelligence, the Rebellion is able to gain significant ground against the Horde. This allows tensions to fall a bit and Lonnie bonds more with Bow and Glimmer. Glimmer in particular, Lonnie takes a shine to. The Princess is fierce and determined and brash--A good sparring partner and REALLY pretty. Lonnie sort of starts to crush on the Princess. She is torn, but considering the circumstsnces and the more time that passes between seeing Adora at Salineas, the more Lonnie thinks maybe she shouldn’t feel guilty about moving on.

7.) Queue Princess Prom. On the Horde side, Adora manipulates Scorpia into taking her as her plus one, knowing that Lonnie will be there and it will be an opportune time to tell her that she’s been the spy on the inside. Unfortunately, for Adora, Catra has been suspicious of her activity for a while and is planning on using the event to either catch her red handed, or cause mayhem and kidnap one or more of the Princesses for leverage so that SHE can gain some clout with Shadow Weaver.

Bow and Perfuma still go together leaving Glimmer to go with Lonnie, who experiences a significant amount of gay panic. While Glimmer mourns the potential loss of her only friend, Lonnie tries to comfort her--knowing the guilt of abandoning a loved one all too well. And that’s when said loved one appears. Adora and Scorpia are at the door. Glimmer immediately approaches Frosta to inform her that these are Horde Soldiers. But while Lonnie is a bit concerned about Scorpia, she knows she needs to get Adora alone.

Sending Glimmer to watch Scorpia, Lonnie follows Adora through the crowd into a hidden away hall. There they are not only able to reunite a bit passionately (👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩) but Adora reveals that she’s been the one sending information to Bow’s commpad. Once again, Lonnie asks Adora to come with her and leave the Horde, but this time Adora refuses; she assures Lonnie she can be more help from the inside. Lonnie tries to convince her that the danger of being caught outweighs whatever information she can sneak them, but Adora remains firm and stubborn.

Unfortunately, as both of them were distracted with one another, Catra and her secret group of Rogelio, Kyle and Scorpia attack. They escape with Bow and Glimmer and Adora is quickly forced to join them to maintain the charade. She spars with Lonnie and takes the sword, but reassures her she’ll watch out for her friends before escaping on Scorpia’s ship with the rest.

Defeated, and confused, Lonnie can only watch as everyone disappears.

8.) “No Princess Left Behind” rolls out much the same way on the Rebellion side. As for inside the Horde. Bow is imprisoned, and Glimmer is sent to the Black Garnet Chamber. Catra is given the credit for the capture but Adora insists on guarding the prisoner both to maintain her guise of loyalty to the Horde, and in order to fulfill her promise to watch out for Lonnie’s friends until she can rescue them.

Shadow Weaver agrees only after discussing the situation with Catra unbeknownst to Adora, this is the ultimate test. Shadow Weaver is suspicious of her loyalty and plans to take Adora out once and for all if she sees weakness. Adora ends up speaking with Glimmer, who is at first absolutely feral, attempting to escape her bonds and attack Adora. When she can’t and she weakens, Adora dares to ask her how Lonnie is doing in the Rebellion. Confused by the clear concern in the Horde Soldier’s voice, Glimmer answers truthfully and this is how she learns that not only was Adora previously Lonnie’s teammate and partner, but has been helping them all along. While Glimmer is trapped for days, Adora does what she can to sneak her food and water and they continue to talk. By the time the Princess Alliance comes to rescue Bow and Glimmer, the Princess knows they can’t leave Adora behind...

9.) Lonnie and the others run into trouble trying to free Glimmer. Alarms are blaring, Catra is leading an assault against the invaders. Shadow Weaver corners Adora, knowing she is now a traitor. She straps Adora down and begins to wipe her mind. She is still a valuable asset and as long as she forgets her loyalty to Lonnie, they can in fact USE her as a weapon against She-Ra. Glimmer, enraged, and desperate to help her new ‘friend’, breaks free of her bonds and decks Shadow Weaver. She frees Adora who is almost as shocked as Glimmer is at the rescue. They flee together, but not before Adora retrieves the sword.

10.) The two run into Lonnie and the others and Adora gives her the sword, allowing her to transform into She-Ra and clear the way out of the Fright Zone.

 In terms of plot, I’m a bit shaky from here on out at this point. Entrapta probably still gets left behind accidentally and Catra still leads the Battle of Bright Moon, Glimmer still must deal with glitches. The main difference is that Adora escapes with them and is unable to work as a spy. She is more than grateful to have joined her girlfriend on the right side of the war, but also lowkey crushed on Glimmer and surprise this is a Glimmadoralonnie ot3 AU, boom gotcha.

Have any headcanons to share about Kyle? Also, your feelings on Bow x Kyle?

Hmm, I can think of a few:

I've read a fanfic once where Kyle found a diary (which belonged to someone else in the Horde, but they don't know what happened to the original owner). I like to think Kyle confides in a diary to talk about his days and his private thoughts, especially the "negative" ones.

I imagine Kyle being interested in tech like Bow. He seemed to know how to repair the vehicle he, Lonnie and Rogelio got stuck in during that storm (s4). Kyle might secretly take some broken devices or pieces of robots to dismantle them. Idk if he would be the kind to build robots like Entrapta, though. But I think he likes playing with machines when he's stressed or after he's been kicked out of training.

This one is very personal, but I once imagined Kyle and Adora being close friends when they were younger. However, with Shadow Weaver erasing Adora's memories, and Catra being extremely possessive of Adora, Kyle realizes Adora doesn't seem to recognize him, and ends up not treating him well because of Lonnie and the other cadets. This is really just me liking angst + the potential of Adora and Kyle being friends or siblings in some way.

As for Bowkyle, I am the captain of Bowkyle, lmao. Just kidding. But these two are one of my favorite pairings in the show. That is, I like what it could've been if the writers weren't so mean to Kyle. If anything, I'm sure those boys would be besties. Bow seemed to feel out of place as he's "the only one who's not a princess" (at the very least Bow isn't harshly bullied by his peers, even if some characters might mock his passion for arrows though), while Kyle must feel like he doesn't belong in the Horde. They both really value friendships and sadly they're taken advantage of. Not to mention that, ironically, they both finally snap in s4, but their character arcs don't really go anywhere. Bow's case is more infuriating considering he's the black best friend character and he has little to no arc in the series overall. Kyle's arc also made me sad because he had to nearly kill himself for Lonnie and Rogelio to actually give a shit about him.

Overall, I think Kyle would've been a great addition to the Rebellion. He and Adora could rely on each other when it comes to Horde trauma (plus Kyle could tell Adora about the memories she lost of their friendship if you count my last headcanon), besides Kyle possibly telling the princesses about what the Horde might be planning (I will never forget he risked his life to tell Bow where Glimmer was, and Kyle was still thrown away). He and Bow could be friends and be totally annoying (affectionate) around each other. Like Bow would show Kyle his arrows and they would talk about tech for hours and hours. I think Kyle deserved better friends. If Scorpia did, why not him, too?

Who does more housework: Lonnie. She takes having a clean environment very seriously, but Scorpia try’s to help with the less delicate tasks.

What couple cosplay they should do: ooooh I don’t know. Maybe Han Solo and Princess Leia, Lonnie being Han and Scorpia being Leia?

Who cried watching Toy Story 3: Scorpia. Lonnie fell asleep.

Who hogs the blankets at night: Scorpia hjhsush. Her pincers and tail take up a lot of room, but lucky Lonnie gets to be hugged by her, so there’s a clear winner here.

What they fight about: nothing, I don’t think Scorpia would be the type to pick fights, and if Lonnie is right then that’s it.

Who has more Facebook friends: hmmm Scorpia. She’s friendly, and Lonnie doesn’t like facebook.

One headcanon about them: Lonnie will read to Scorpia, and care for the books so she doesn’t accidentally damage them. Scorpia rests her head in her lap, and falls asleep to lonnie’s voice.

While you're talking HM, what about what was going on in the director corner during the pushup contest?

Oh, this is a fun one. (Commentary is bolded.)

So this scene was not planned, not really. I was on the bit where Catra is comforting Adora over something she doesn’t understand (Adora’s hurt feelings thinking that Catra is hung on on Scorpia, if that wasn’t clear from Adora’s side of things in previous chapters) and I, like Catra, was trying to think of a way to move on from that. I needed to cap the chapter and bring the mood up a little and Catra didn’t want Adora to to be sad anymore. So uh, yeah, this happened.

“I’m going to hug you now, okay?” announces Catra. Asking Adora if she wants a hug generally just causes her more distress, gives her one more thing to think about when she’s already overloaded. Adora gives a jerky nod and Catra steps in, wrapping her arms securely around Adora’s torso and pinning her arms to her ribs. Adora’s still standing stiff in her grip, though. “Tighter?”

Admittedly I kind of stole the “tighter?” thing from a scene in season 2 of Atypical. Not on purpose, but that scene lives rent free in my head so I can’t claim I would have come up with it on my own. As an autistic and a snarky wlw jock that show makes me feel seen.

“Yeah,” whispers Adora. When Catra obeys, the tension finally leaves Adora’s body, her chin relaxing onto Catra’s shoulder with a sigh. Moving entirely on instinct, Catra tips her head to rub her cheek against Adora’s. Her hands are kind of occupied, after all, locked tightly around her own biceps to maintain the pressure. Adora responds by nuzzling into Catra’s shoulder, but her throat bobs again against Catra’s collarbone. Clearly this isn’t enough, so Catra wracks her brain for another strategy. Anything to cheer Adora up, get her mind off whatever’s bothering her.

I just love opportunites for Catra to act vaguely catlike in human form. I try not to throw them in just for comedic effect in a way that’s distracting, but I liked this one.

“Hey, wanna have a push up contest?” is what she comes up with.

Adora snorts into her neck and Catra smiles. Shrugging off Catra’s arms, Adora steps back and sizes her up, eyes gleaming competitively in that way Catra loves. “Oh, you’re gonna regret that, Diaz.”

Adora, you are so very predictable.

She really should know better than to say something like that, knowing Catra’s abilities. Oh well, that’s just more motivation to kick her ass.

With this many jocks in one room, it turns into quite the event. Rogelio makes Entrapta pause the game so he can partake, and Entrapta gleefully accepts the role of referee. At Adora’s request, she changes the music to something with a strong beat, and the competitors shake their arms out and begin to take their positions on the floor.

I miss hanging out with jocks. One brain cell, all competitive energy.

Catra’s getting in the zone, the music narrowing her focus, but when the lyrics start and she recognizes the voice she almost chokes on her laughter. “Is this Nickelback?”

“It’s one of Scorpia’s favorite workout songs!” Entrapta says in her own defense.

Scorpia gasps, one hand flying to her chest as everyone shares a laugh at her expense. “Et tu, Entrapta?”

S.E.X. is a great workout song and no I do not take criticism. Tbh I threw this in because music was already such a big theme in this chapter that I wanted to continue with having a soundtrack, and because I have fond memories of this song playing in the locker room while my hockey team was getting dressed and pumped up for games.

In total there’s eleven of them on the floor when Entrapta says go, including Lonnie and Scorpia. But Catra’s not worried. This is just one more arena where people underestimate her. She’s lean, and yeah she definitely can’t bench as much as Scorpia or even Adora, but she’s strong for her size. She was a gymnast for fuck’s sake, bodyweight exercises are her jam.

This may be a little bit of a flip off to people who underestimate Catra’s strength and/or act like she would want to watch Adora work out but lie around lazily herself. Catra is compact but ripped, and she would absolutely ogle Adora but she’s also a competitive little motherfucker. Then again this whole fic started as a flip off to the football player Adora/cheerleader Catra trope so this is very on brand for me.

As Catra expected, the meatier types drop off quickly. Scorp and Hel and the other linemen are used to pushing hard, of course, but never for long. They can’t keep the beat past twenty push ups, but Catra’s just getting started.

It comes down to her and Adora, as always. Catra thrives off of competition and loves beating Adora in particular, but sometimes she thinks having a nemesis other than Adora would be nice. It gets a little confusing. (Oh Catra, I feel you. Being in constant competition with your crush and that making it even harder to know how to feel about her is a lesbian MOOD.) The lyrics aren’t exactly helping with that, either.

Catra exhales hard with every push, trying to ignore Adora’s breathy grunts to her left. Sweat rolls down her brow and drips off her nose as her face heats up, and she’s glad she has the contest to blame for it. The rest of the room hollers and cheers but Catra barely hears any of it. It’s just her and Adora, locked in a battle of wills.

Jesus Christ is it getting hot in here? (Also yes this might be a slight nod to how they’re both tops and this is what makes their relationship great.)

Yeah can you blame me for picking this song? ‘Cause tbh...

Adora keeps up longer than Catra expected, powered by pure competitive lesbian energy. Catra almost starts to worry she ran her big mouth and is about to have her ass handed to her, but soon after they hit the 50 mark Adora’s arms start to wobble, her breaths coming hard.

“Come on, Adora!” shouts Lonnie. “Don’t give up now!”

Of course Lonnie’s on her side. That just makes Catra grit her teeth and push through the burn with a breathless growl.

“Keep it up, Wildcat!” counters Scorpia. “Just a little more, she’s fading!”

I love Scorpia and Lonnie butting heads over Catra because Lonnie is that mean friend and Scorpia is Scorpia. It’s gonna happen again in chapter 8. ;)

Catra keeps pounding away and Adora finally falters, her jelly arms failing to match the beat in time.

Oh that... that was not meant to sound as sexual as it did. But I will absolutely not take that back.

“Adora, you’re out!” calls Entrapta. “That’s it!” Still, Adora doggedly fights through to the top of her final push up before collapsing in a heap. Grinning down at the floor, Catra keeps going. Might as well drive the point home. “Catra, you can stop now!”

A broken and beautiful laugh sounds beside Catra’s ear, a blunt fingernail poking into her shoulder as she works. “Show off.”

Adora is absolutely just taking an opportunity here to touch Catra while watching her work out. It goes both ways.

But Catra’s not just showing off. She has a goal. When Entrapta finally hits 69, she drops to the hardwood with a heavy gasp. Raising one hand, she pinches the tips of her thumb and forefinger together and pants, “Nice.”

That is so very Catra.

That gets a laugh out of the crowd, including Adora. One of her hands touches Catra’s back and Catra turns her head to find her smiling. Genuinely, this time. It’s the most beautiful sight in the world. Catra flips onto her back to see it better, and Adora’s hand ends up resting on her heaving stomach.

And they both wish it was lower lbr.

“Tell me again how you don’t like being the center of attention,” teases Adora, her speech still broken and breathless.

Catra just grins, clasping her hands behind her head. “Never said I didn’t.”

Yeah for something I added in at the last minute I really enjoy this scene. Competitive sexual tension is my jam.
