I think Morgott become human when he I is dying not because the Greater Will or the Erdtree take his curse away. I think that the curse was part of his rune, that lied in the base of the Erdtree, where Crucible is situated, and when we take it – we take his curse away.
"Curse". Oh, sweet irony: he hated his omen blood, but in the same time it was part of his legacy.
More interesting, that he did't die after we get the rune, we could even speak with him. And in this heartbreaking scene when Godfrey takes his body, body transforms to Grace, and "point" to us. Even without rune Morgott's spirit has some power no demigod could demonstrate.
This gives a bit of hope that his spirit remains alive in some way.

[Elden Ring DLC spoilers] sir Ansbach, what an absolute CHAD.
[MAJOR SPOILERS]
.
]
one thing Shadow of the Erdtree did was write a delicuously hatable villians, and the assorted heroes to rally against it.
stayed loyal to the end to Mohg Mogh, pierced through Miquella's deception, and even challenged her, trying to Free Mohg from his Brainwashing.
he even forgives us for killing Mohg given the situation.
and he follows us in to fight against the god that ruined everything.
what would have made it even better is if Morgott, or at least using a margit projection, also went in to avenge his brother.
"Lord Mohg will have his Dignity".
damn that's a raw line. I used to actually dislike mohg, genuinely. I admittedly also disliked his fanbase that flanderized his gross actions. And even after this, it's a toxic blood cult, but taking Ansbach's actions alone.....PURE CHAD.
like his brother, the Omen twins deserved Better!
damn.

Man Who Thought He'd Lost All Hope Loses Last Additional Bit Of Hope He Didn't Even Know He Still Had
Allow me to introduce you to this small headcanon of mine. So bear with me:
A. To have a reason to go through the whole route of Mountaintops of the Giants -> the Frenzied Flame Chamber, Vyke needed to actually see the wall of thorns. And I doubt that Morgott just decided to take a day off for some reason. (Remember that no one at Roundtable doesn't know about thorns)
B. While Morgott is alive in-game, the entrance to the Frenzied Flame is sealed by him. Which means it was open when Vyke came there (he wouldn't be able to enter otherwise). So Morgott sealed it and put an illusion of his brother there after "the incident" i.e. he had to witness and realize the danger of the Frenzied Flame
So I propose this headcanon that Morgott knew Vyke and maybe helped (or at least didn't oppose) Vyke on his way to the throne.
Once again this is not a theory, just a headcanon to make sad old man even sadder

King Morgott the Grace Giving and his quite suspicios advisor that tend to appear out of nowhere surrounded by some blood cultists. We only hope he doesn`t have any bad impact on our lord
Not realy a "human au" but a disguise versions for different occasions. I like to think Morgott sometimes have to appear in front of people as, well, Morgott the King and Mohg simply likes to be part of Morgott`s ruling because A) he doesnt see a king but this messy homeless looking brother that trying his best to pretend he`s a king which includes to look good and wear proper king clothes and he hates every second of it B) anything interesting can happen and who knows how he can use it
I have a very bad time with human-Mohg because every time i color he looks weird with that beard, some random pirate that has nothing to do with mohg lol

[Spoilers] The fact that Ansbach is so SANE/level-headed likely proves Mohg was less crazy before....
f
spoilers.

People fairly point out that even with Mohg being manipulated by Miquella, he still started a wacky gross blood cult, conducting all sorts of atrocities.
but I had a thought: Given the fact that Ansbach was one of Mohgs original knights, meaning he was likely there from the start, and what struck me is just how SANE & level-headed he is (I mean, he even doesn't blame us for killing Mohg). he isn't even Creepy like Varre.
the fact that he was his greatest knight is pretty thought provoking.
leads me to believe that Mohg's kingdom was less fucked before Miquella if someone as sane as Ansbach was one of his head honchos.
and if Mohg was already crazy, why would Ansbach be so compelled and Desperate to try and 1v1 Miquella, a demigod, to desperately try and save Mohg, that means that he probably saw the dynasty declining as Miquella's influence wrecked things. Not to mention that there aren't any pureblood knights running around in the base game... meaning that some kind of Decline happened that saw the knights get killed off.
its telling you need a pureblood knight medallion to see Mohg, but there aren't any pureblood knights around anymore....
maybe mohg's place is in such a bad state when we arrive because Mohg's gone off the deep end and has started to neglect things after being brainwashed, and underwent some sort of decline.
eitherway, Ansbach is a chad.
mohg mogh
