Rian and Morwen. Best cousins in the Silmarillion. The line to fight me 'bout it starts here.

Rian notices some young lords of Dor-lómin checking them out. I'd like to imagine that she is seconds away from bursting out laughing from delight/embarrassment. Morwen feigns disinterest.

I'm still not happy with Rian's face but I've worked on it so much that the tooth of the paper has worn down. One day I'll get her right.

éowyn, lady of the shield-arm and princess of rohan with my OC morwen, daughter of húrin (warden of the keys) and healer in the houses of healing! both are noblewomen of countries in peril, threatened by the enemy and forced to confront the horrors of war. éowyn disguises herself as dernhelm and rides to seek death, while morwen dons armour to administer to the wounded during the battle of the pelennor. they would grew close in friendship after, recovering from their injuries together in the houses of healing.

Tolkien women♀ ⚔️✨ for Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day  - Several collages including 43 drawings, paintings and doodles of Tolkien women that I've done over the years, from mid-2000s to 2017-18. Hoping to do more Tolkien art this year 🎨😃!

These collages and merges include, apart from Elven and Dwarf women OCs: Galadriel, Lúthien Tinúviel, Arwen, Éowyn, Dís, Idril, Morwen, Nienor, Erendis, a Beorian wise-woman, Andreth, an Entwife, me and @tarmaerika as Tolkien characters, Varda, Yavanna, Nienna, Uinen, Elwing, Nimrodel, Celebrían, Míriel Therinde (with dark hair because typo xD), and Goldberry.

October recap

I didn't quite manage the challenge that I had set myself, one artwork per day, but I made and posted 27 pieces, including a two-page comic that may or may not still only count as one (and took me 4 days to draw, so there was really only one day where I didn't draw).

You can see them all under the tag #echo's october 2023 but I thought I'd share my faves in a single post. They're all Silmarillion or LOTR fanart.

On days when I had little time, I did some simple sketches, but I aslo figured out how to paint these kinds of atmospheric painting:

Hurin:

first of all hurin did nothing wrong and i am dying on this hill. he's literally THE man.

i'm in love with his aesthetic. my friends can confirm

yes hurin has a beard and this is yet another hill i swore to die on

on that topic, there's So Much fanart potential for Hurin but not much art for him which is Sad and Tragic (/lh)

all in all finarfin might be my favourite character but Hurin is THE best character ever written - his arc is one of the most heartbreaking ones, his tragedy is gutwrenching and hic characterisation is On Spot

i don't see enough finwe bashing to be satisfied. half of the silmarillion could have been avoided if he knew how to be a good parent. "line of miriel is doomed" this "children of indis shouldn't've been born" that - listen all of this wouldn't have happened have finwe picked up a "how to parent responsibly" book. all in all he's an idiot (derogatory)

Thanks for the ask! I am always super soft for parents and their children, so when I didn't know what to do with her my mind just went "BABY TURIN." and I was like "Oh my god brain, you genius 👁 ."

Also, I once again failed to read right and missed completely the "young" part of this u.u I don't know how to read. From a certain point of view this Morwen IS young, but I expected you meant like, teen or kid Morwen, sigh, anyway.
