I don't know if anyone remembers the Random Room Sizes & Colors house I built a while back, but it was one of the things that got lost when Win11 decided to corrupt my user profile. 🤡

After I got my game re-downloaded, I decided to rebuild it - but with less "randomness" because nobody needs weirdly shaped 15 tile bathrooms or an orange master suite c'mon now

It's also now CC-free. (Afraid I did use rather a lot of packs, though!)

Anyhoo, I did put this version on the Gallery if anyone wants it, EA user ID is MicratheneW. It's currently on a 30x20 lot, has 2 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms.

So, I have managed to toggle the moveObjects cheat with a hotkey, again. :)

Learning how to accomplish this was quite challenging for me. I first started with the boolProp snapObjectsToGrid cheat to attach it to the Alt key as in TS3 and TS4. But it had another challenge: getting rid of the free camera movement thingy (when you hold Alt). Seriously, who is actually using that in TS2? I'm still looking to learn how to disable that stupid thing.

As for the moveObjects cheat, I have also managed to retrieve the current game state (e.g., live mode, build mode, etc.) to make this hotkey work only for the game states where you can pick and place objects.

One of the final steps is to make it work only when the game is in the foreground. Currently, it works even when the game is in the background. This is an easy step. For the other step, I will also need to make it not work when there is a dialog popup (when simulation is paused) or when the focus is on an input field (where you have to type things, like baby name, family name, etc.).

P.S. I tried LazyDuchess' hotkey mod, but there is no SimAntics or BHAV function to allow me to do this, AFAIK.

Autonomous Wash Hands After Toilet Use by moveobjects

"This is a simple mod that makes sims autonomously wash their hands after using the toilet most of the time, by adjusting the chances for doing so, from 0 to 90, and nothing else. For comparison, 90 is the same value of the default chance for sims putting down the toilet seat.

Neat sims will still always wash their hands, and slobs won't ever, as it is in the game per default.

How to make hot tubs look better

Use the fountain sprays from Build Mode and make them spray more or less into the tub. It's hard to deny that this looks better.

(This would probably be applicable in real life too, but I don't have the well over 20,000€ needed to consistently test this. While I do have a bit of money in the banks, I'm not exactly Richard Branson. Whatever happened to that guy anyway?)
