Devi and Mr. Kulkarni's dynamic reminds me a little of Nadine and Max Bruner's dynamic in The Edge of Seventeen.

Never Have I Ever Season 4: My Extensive Opinions on all the plots
I will go through various plots and characters (in no particular order) and give my opinion
Margot
I don’t like Margot. Her introduction this season was her being furious at Devi because she was mad that Ben ghosted her but Devi literally has a right to mad. Margot’s reaction was very unwarranted and a lot for the situation at hand, especially because she wasn’t giving Ben any of that energy she was giving Devi. She isn’t wondering why Ben ghosted Devi out of the blue? She isn’t thinking that this could be a potential red flag? She is still protecting him and doting on him?
This isn’t even the only time this happens. Every time Margot is on screen, they have to get her mad at Devi for some reason, which is usually a misunderstanding. Sometimes she is justified, for example when she finds Devi’s notebook and when Devi almost gets her suspended. But why was she mad at Devi when Ben brought the flowers to her house? Why did she not give the same energy to Ben? He was the one that brought the flowers. Then she admits that she is embarrassed of Ben after she spent 6 episodes fighting over him? Girl, what was the fighting even for??
It just makes me mad that her character got so much screen time and the conflict that she has with Devi is so repetitive. I just think about how her screentime could be given to other characters (cough, cough Aneesa) and that makes me even more mad.
Episode 1
Should be called “Never Have I Ever Risked it all for a man” This is not a criticism to the writing of the episode, this is more of a message to characters that don’t exist. Devi, Margot, stand up, please. No man is worth fighting for, no man is worth ruining your reputation for and no man is worth ruining your chances of getting into your dream university for and I’m saying that as someone who loves Ben as a character (for the most part).
Ben x Margot
Was very unnecessary. Ben stop dating girls to get over Devi challenge I beg of you.
Ethan
Also unnecessary but at least he got Devi to take her mind off of Ben.
Fabneesa
They had so much chemistry in their interactions together and they were trying to tell us last season that they don’t have any romantic chemistry?? Nah, sorry I don’t believe it. During the scene where Fabiola confided in Addison about her fight with Devi and Addison told her that she would make new friends in college, I was thinking about how Aneesa would get it since she is in the same friend group (tho props to Addison for listening to Fab and getting it in the end.)
Aneesa
I adore Aneesa so I was disappointed that she was barely in the season. I wish we could’ve gotten more information about where got recruited to.
Nalini
I adore her and I love how much she has grown. In seasons 1 and 2, she would have called Devi ‘stupid’ or used other harsh words without a second thought. Now she corrects her mistakes and is more gentle and comforting to Devi. I also really like Nalini’s relationship with Margot’s dad, they had chemistry.
Nirmala
Funny as always.
Kamala
I am glad that she took that job in Baltimore and I am so glad that she didn’t get married. I feel like a big part of her character is that she isn’t ready to get married and needs to figure out the timing of things in her own terms. I am also very happy that she is still with Mr Kulkarni.
Paxton
I was worried when he dropped out of university but the writers handled the plotline so well. The first thing they did was drill it into our heads that Paxton made the wrong choice and that he was running away from change. I adored his friendship with Devi and I really liked his relationship with Miss Thompson. I really like Miss Thompson’s personality and I like how she isn’t phased by his charm and holds him accountable for his actions. They are also bi4bi, I don’t make the rules.
Fabiola
Fabiola was right in applying to Princeton because she can apply anywhere she wants but wrong in not telling Devi at all. I definitely felt bad for her because you can tell that she adores Devi and would never want to hurt her. Luckily, it all worked out in the end.
Ben
He really needed someone to slap him in the first few episodes because what the hell was he thinking?? First, ghosting Devi after they slept together, dating Margot, refusing to speak to her and lying about it being Margot’s decision. I was ready to fight him. Luckily, he redeemed himself in the last few episodes.
Devi
I am a Devi stan first, person second, have always been from season 1. I am so proud of how much she’s grown and of how far she’s come. Most of all, I am so glad that she got her dream college, her dream boyfriend and started embracing her culture.
Benvi
The moments in the last few episodes were perfection. Ben defending Devi from the creep? Amazing. Them interacting with each other and everyone knowing that they’re in love? Spectacular. Them gazing at each other with heart eyes at graduation when you know season 1 Ben would have been so mad that Devi won valedictorian over him. The scene where he flies all the way from New York to confess his love for her and they run away holding hands and the scenes after that? The most romantic scenes on the show. Benvi is definitely one of the best slowburns in recent television.

Note
Just realized that you wrote “i tumble from the sky (you remind me to fly)” before we got s2?! How tf did you write Manish so perfectly???
Are you a witch?
my kinship with manish kulkarni transcends season release dates i love him i love him i love him
in all seriousness, though, i had recently finished the mindy project, which was the only thing i’d seen the actor in at that point (feel like he’s everywhere now, good for him) and so it felt natural to use rishi’s voice as a template for mr. k’s - apparently the writers agreed!

Decided to go out last night to Hell’s Kitchen—Nivedita Kulkarni was performing impressions and Vijay R. Nathan was gonna give snoop dogg poetry a shot. Ended up at a hole-in-the-wall Thai place with slow service but impeccably prepared and seasoned drunken noodles. Seriously this is some of the best I’ve had and you know I’ve downed plenty. Worth the wait. The restaurant, called Thonglor, is named after the synonymous neighborhood in Bangkok. I know Bangkok pretty well so I was racking my brain to figure out where it is—turns out it’s parallel to Sukhumvit Road where Mr. Hong’s club Same Same is in The Brotherhood Chronicle books (Niral keeps seeing the disabled kid and Indians/ladyboys outside the Skytrain station there). Anyway finished off the night watching great open mic performances by South Asian American artists at Bar Nine—amazing that Subcontinental Drift is still going strong a decade after I first performed there—thanks to the incomparable Tara Sarath

Film Review

Title: Dangal
Cast: Aamir Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim, Suhani Bhatnagar, Ritwik Sahore, Aparshakti Khurana, Girish Kulkarni
Director: Nitesh Tiwari
Writters: Nitesh Tiwari, Piyush Gupta, Shreyas Jain and Nikhil Meharotra
Plot: An ordinary wrestler from Haryana trains his daughters to make wrestling history, a sport far dominated by men.
+ Amir Khan’s super fluctuating yet convincing body parameters
+ Intense father-daughter emotions peppered with humorous Haryanvi dialogues
+ Nail-biting wrestling sequences
A sports biopic, Dangal totally justifies the real life story of Haryana wrestler who trained his older two daughters in the art of wrestling and turned them into champions. The film delivers a very important message with such sincerity that it just doesn’t overwhelm the storytelling.
Messages on our obsession with the male child, bigoted stand on bringing up our daughters and the administration’s wretched attitude towards sports, are loud and clear.
Amir Khan is a pure finesse who can go to any extent to completely erase the boundary which detaches the actor from the character. His deliberate gaits to match with the demand of the role as an aspiring wrestler with muscles and a passionate father with a heavy belly can easily convince you that the movie has really covered an era while making.
In the male dominant state of Haryana, where the girl child is still unacceptable in most of the families, there cannot be a more important message. The belief that real-life Phogat showed in his girls, as they went on to win honor is definitely setting an example.
Also, Dangal blends humor with intensity. The lighthearted dialogues, peppered with humor and heartrending father-daughter emotions runs throughout the movie. When the first half of the movie shows how the young Geeta and Babita turn into willing fighters from young innocent girls, the second half on the mat tells us how to learn the art of losing, and, above all, to win. Among the high ends of this well-crafted film are the nail-biting wrestling sequences.
But what wins our heart is the not-so-perfect yet so perfect character of Mahavir Phogat. He is guilty of taking away his daughter’s childhood and turning them into the boys that he doesn't have. But his obstinacy ends up breaking all the traditional taboos of this patriarchal society for its own good.
The film also delineates the conflicting points of traditional coaching methods of father versus modern techniques of the system with sheer serenity.
Along with Mr. Perfectionist, a big credit for this sporting saga goes to Fatima Sana Shaikh for bringing the character of Geeta Kumari Phogat, Mahavir's eldest daughter to life. Sakshi Tanwar, as Khan’s wife, is a first-class choice, known yet fresh enough. Her role is restrained but totally compatible with the storyline.
The earthy soundtracks, especially ‘Haanikarak Bapu’ fits just right with the mood of the narrative.
Dangal is a film that is both inspiring and entertaining. Since it highlights the glorious wins of the Phogats, the film is also bound to encourage more women to seriously take up kushti as a sport.

These 31 MPs Are Its Members
The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on Friday adopted a motion naming the members. (File) New Delhi: The joint committee of Parliament to examine the Waqf (Amendment) Bill will have 31 members — 21 from the Lok Sabha and 10 from the Rajya Sabha — and will submit its report by the next session. The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on Friday adopted a motion moved by Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, who also holds the parliamentary affairs portfolio, naming the members to be part of the committee. In the Lower House, 12 members of the panel are from the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), including eight from the BJP, and nine from the opposition. In the Upper House, four are from the BJP, four from the opposition and one is a nominated member. The Lok Sabha members in the panel are Jagdambika Pal, Nishikant Dubey, Tejasvi Surya, Aparajita Sarangi, Sanjay Jaiswal, Dilip Saikia, Abhiit Gangopadhyay, DK Aruna (all BJP); Gaurav Gogoi, Imran Masood and Mohammadd Jawed (all Congress); Mohibullah (Samajwadi Party); Kalyan Banerjee (Trinamool Congress); A Raja (DMK); Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu (Telugu Desam Party); Dileshwar Kamait (JDU); Arvind Sawant (Shiv Sena-UBT); Suresh Mhatre (NCP-Sharad Pawar); Naresh Mhaske (Shiv Sena); Arun Bharti (Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas); and Asaduddin Owaisi (AIMIM). Those included from the Rajya Sabha are Brij Lal, Medha Vishram Kulkarni, Gulam Ali, Radha Mohan Das Agrawal (all BJP); Syed Naseer Hussain (Congress); Mohammed Nadimul Haque (Trinamool Congress); V Vijayasai Reddy (YSRCP); M Mohamed Abdulla (DMK); Sanjay Singh (AAP); and nominated member Dharmasthala Veerendra Heggade. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is expected to name the committee’s chairperson soon. There is a view that BJP’s Mr Pal may head the panel but officials said a final call would be taken by Mr Birla. The Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Thursday and referred to a joint committee of Parliament after a heated debate, with the government asserting the proposed law did not intend to interfere with the functioning of mosques and the opposition calling it targeting of Muslims and an attack on the Constitution. The committee will submit its report to the Lok Sabha by the last day of the first week of the next session, Mr Rijiju said. A delegation of Muslim clerics also met Mr Rijiju to extend its support to the amendments to the Wakf Act, 1995, proposed by the government amid the opposition’s strong criticism. Role of skilling, education in media and entertainment sector critical in realizing vision of Viksit Bharat: Secretary, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, GoI
Bridging the skill gap requires collaboration between industry and academia
MUMBAI, 07 March 2024: Mr Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt of India today said that the Indian media and entertainment sector is growing rapidly and there is immense potential for skilling in this sector. This sector has been growing with a CAGR of over 13 per cent in the last few years and employes 30 lakh people directly and 55 lakh indirectly. Skilling combined with education and scaling can help India achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, there by supporting the GDP as well as establishing the prowess in India’s soft power, he added.
Addressing the session on ‘LEAPing into the Future’, at FICCI FRAMES 2024, Mr Tiwari said that in order for India to prosper, there is a need for creating a mass awareness about skilling. The New Education Policy (NEP) along with all government policies focuses on skilling. All sectors of the economy are recognizing that skilling is going to be a game-changer for India. With our country's demographic advantage, having the youngest and the world's largest number of working-age individuals, skilling will lead to a significant enhancement in productivity and employment. We have the youngest population in the world, largest number of working population and skilling them will lead to a great deal of enhancement in productivity and employment along with competitiveness, he noted.
Mr Tiwari also emphasized spreading awareness on ‘LEAP – Leveraging Education to Accelerate Progress’, which is the need of the hour. That nothing is more creative than making a film. The government, he said, is working to identify and bridge the skilling gap through policy initiatives along with industry and academia collaboration. “There is a need for us to identify the opportunities and create awareness among people, especially in tier 2,3 cities to attract more talent,” he emphasized.
He further stated that the M&E sector has experienced a remarkable transformation with the advent of the internet, revolutionizing entertainment consumption. The dynamics of content creation have shifted, leading to a buzzing M&E landscape that not only entertains but also promotes and preserves cultural heritage, added Mr Tiwari.
He also stated that the Indian media and entertainment sector not only provides support to nation’s GDP but also promotes tourism, increase in cultural exchanges and strengthens India’s soft power.
Mr Subhash Ghai, Renowned Filmmaker & Founder and Chairman, Whistling Woods International (WWI) highlighted the role of education and skilling in media and entertainment sector. He added that we are currently relying on memory-based education rather than skill-based education. It is crucial to develop skill-based education in the country, noted Mr Ghai.
Mr SK Pathak, Secretary General, FICCI said, “In the 25th edition of FICCI FRAMES in 2025, we will identify the transformational changes required in the media and entertainment industry, focusing on the initiatives needed for India in 2030.”
Mr Ashish Kulkarni, Chair, FICCI AVGC-XR Forum and Founder, Punnaryug delivered the vote of thanks.
Ms Hande Ercel, Turkish Actress was also present during the inaugural session.

7 Union Ministers Not Renominated To Rajya Sabha By BJP: What It Means
Seven union ministers whose Rajya Sabha terms end in April have not been re-nominated by the ruling BJP, prompting speculation Prime Minister Narendra Modi's party may field them in the Lok Sabha election that is expected later the same month.
Tumblr media
Among the big names absent are Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya (Gujarat), Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan (Madhya Pradesh), and junior IT Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar (Karnataka).
Also absent are Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav (Rajasthan), and Fisheries Minister Parshottam Rupala (Gujarat), as well as Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Minister Narayan Rane and junior External Affairs Minister V Muraleedharan, both of whom represented Maharashtra.
Sources have told NDTV all seven could now be fielded from Lok Sabha constituencies in various states.
Sources indicate Mr Pradhan may be fielded from Sambalpur or Dheknal in his home state of Odisha, while Mr Yadav may run from Rajasthan's Alwar or Mahendragarh, and Mr Chandrashekhar could contest one of the four seats in Bengaluru; three of these - Central, North, and South - are held by the BJP.
Similarly, Mr Mandaviya may run from Bhavnagar or Surat in Guajrat, while Mr Rupala may get Rajkot. Mr Muraleedharan, meanwhile, may be fielded from his home state of Kerala; the BJP has no presence there, and may look to high-profile names to revive its fortunes.
The BJP has retained only a few big names, in fact, only two union ministers from the Rajya Sabha have been retained - Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw (Odisha) and junior Fisheries Minister L Murugan (Madhya Pradesh). No outgoing MP who has served two or more terms has been repeated.
The only exception is party boss JP Nadda. He though, has been shifted - from Himachal Pradesh, which the Congress won in 2022, to Gujarat. It has also found space for new entrants, including former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, who quit the Congress this week.
Overall, it is all change for the BJP, with only four of 28 outgoing Rajya Sabha MPs renominated. The remaining 24 have reportedly been asked for their preference of Lok Sabha seats.
The party has named 28 candidates to the 56 seats that will fall vacant in April, with the focus on new faces and emphasising - to its leadership structure and the voters - its determination to recognise grassroots workers, even those who not known to the public, while also factoring in social equations.
A notable point is that three of the BJP's new Rajya Sabha MPs - Dharmshila Gupta (Bihar), Medha Kulkarni (Maharashtra), and Maya Naroliya (Madhya Pradesh) - are associated with the women's wing, in keeping with the PM's emphasis on the higher approval the party enjoys among women voters.
The BJP's strategy for the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha elections appears to mirror that for the five Assembly polls in November last year, when the party focused on "collective leadership" and selecting high-profile candidates - including fielding Lok Sabha MPs for state elections - to maximise outreach.
The plan worked well. The BJP swept to power in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, winning the latter two back from the Congress as it dominated its Hindi heartland stronghold.
The BJP is well into its Lok Sabha election prep mode. Party sources said, as early as last month, that National General Secretaries had begun meeting every week (on Tuesdays) to develop strategies, including candidate placement. At one such meet, attended by Home Minister Amit Shah and party boss JP Nadda, the party said it would target first-time voters, beneficiaries of central schemes, and voters from backward classes, as well as young people and women, as it bids for a third consecutive term.

Adah's entry promises to bring a fresh dynamic to the show, and her portrayal as the new face in Season 2 is sure to captivate the audience. As DG and Tambe delve deeper into the mystery, Adah's character adds an extra layer of intrigue, making Sunflower Season 2 a must-watch for fans eagerly anticipating laughter, suspense, and unexpected twists.
Get ready for yet another round of laughter, suspense, and unexpected twists in the world of Sunflower. Adah Sharma said, “As an actor, I read Rosie's part and I was very excited that Vikas Behl and Chaitali have written a part for a girl who is funny, scary, sarcastic, sweet, evil all of it in one human. Saying such wicked things, doing things that I would never do in real life is also a little intoxicating.
Adding to this, on being asked what special prep she went through for the role, she said, “I play a very strange girl Rosie. To bring her uniqueness to life I was on a strict diet of documentaries about psychopaths, serial killers and persons with multiple personality disorders. I was also put into physical training as a construction worker to learn to break walls with a hammer.”
