(...) if there is pain, nurse it. And if there is a flame, don’t snuff it out. Don’t be brutal with it. We rip out so much of ourselves to be cured of things faster, that we go bankrupt by the age of thirty and have less to offer each time we start with someone new. But to make yourself feel nothing so as not to feel anything ― what a waste!"
Call Me by Your Name; André Aciman, 2007

Summary:
Jeremy’s teeth sank into the soft fruit again. He split the skin curiously, until its juices wept out of the puncture wound. Jean followed the drip of it, the way it caught on the plush of Jeremy’s wet bottom lip, followed the small bead seemingly suspended in slow motion, until it fell into the subtle dip in Jeremy’s chin.
[in which jean can't look at peaches the same after cmbyn, & jeremy is a tempting menace.]
so i’ve written a jerejean peach fic no one but myself begged for, bc i’ve had cmbyn brain rot since i was 16 & learning jean loves peaches obviously did completely normal things to me. ˘ ³ ˘

Ron Perlman Vs. Mr. T
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda
Ron Perlman - (Beauty and the Beast, The Magnificent Seven) - Guillermo del Toro's bff, known for That Face/Voice, often performing in very heavy prosthetics, and getting frequently banned from twitter for harrassing billionaires. Cigar lover, potty mouth, working actor for 40+ years. Also Extremely Extensive voice acting resume. Swore off doing Hellboy makeup again and then did it anyway because it was for Make-A-Wish.
Mr. T - (The A-Team) - No text propaganda

Ron Perlman, acting like a man child
in 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' is the best metaphor (and most hilarious) for being a married couple with a kid. Like, he doesn't 1/2 ass it; he acts like a kid and goes full in. And tho he looks like a white ape, he still pulls it off. His temper tantrum after not getting a cigarette is unforgettable.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith S01
Tumblr media
Mr. & Mrs. Smith S01    [trailer]
Two strangers land jobs with a spy agency that offers them a life of espionage, wealth, and travel. The catch: new identities in an arranged marriage.
An interesting concept to mix an action series with a relationship drama. At least in theory.
There were a number of moments when the two clicked together. But overall I found it difficult to switch between more serious conversations and the still unrealistic mission action scenes, like when for example they create mayhem at the ski resort or at an Italian lake. It has no consequences.
The guest stars provide some welcome liveliness, but e.g. the psychoanalyst episode still was a bit boring.

The Mr. & Mrs. Smith TV Series Almost Surpasses the Original Before Running Into the Same Problems
By: William Hume Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the nearly 20-year-old movie (wow) is exactly the property that should be remade. A movie that will forever be known for its on-screen chemistry and off-screen relationships. It’s a fun movie that ends poorly but has such a fun premise to get itself there: Married Spies unbeknownst to each other are hired to take each other out. A lot of fun happens along the…
