You know when you're tired and getting more and more cross with yourself because you can't do a basic thing like build a whole corner lot plot that's supposed to fit in with the rest of courtyard lane that's perfect and within budget for the Newbie family?
Okay, maybe not that specific. But you know when you're tired and you start judging yourself really harshly because GOSH DARNIT you should be able to do this?!
And you steadily get more and more angry at yourself until you want to throw something across the room in a dramatic temper tantrum?
But you CAN'T POSSIBLY give up, because damnit!! YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO THIS!
And so you get angrier.... etc.
When really all it boils down to is being a grumpy, overtired perfectionist who could just benefit from stopping, getting an early night and revisiting it tomorrow after looking for inspiration on the internet?
If only I could relate to that, but I can't, because I'M NOT TIRED and GODDAMNIT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO BUILD THIS BASTARD LOT
So there's this midwinter/holiday season snack that I adore, which is a bit of a dark horse perhaps, but an undeniable and certified delicacy nonetheless. I'm talking about putting blue cheese on gingerbread cookies! A concept that sounds weird at first, but then you try it and it just works. Beyond that, it fucks severely.
Now I'm wondering how widespread this combination is. I know it's a thing up here in Finland and the Nordics, from personal experience and also some light internet sleuthing.
Like so
If you haven't tried it, I recommend it. As long as you enjoy blue cheese. And gingerbread, of course.
Feel free to tell me what part of the world you're in and also your unfiltered opinion on this snack.
Recently I've realized that I can make mini apple pies using the muffin tray. Like, make a big ball of dough, grate two apples, stuff the dough in the muffin cups, and tada 8 mini pies + leftover dough for freezing to use in a week.
So I made some today, and took a few too give to my mom, since we're the only ones here who like apple pies, and so we rarely eat it because it's too much work for just two people.
