Emmy was not going to allow herself to be impacted by the words of some boy, let alone one who didn’t even know her! She didn’t care about what he had to say, it’s not her fault he has nothing better to do with his sorry life! 

The grip on her pencil was perhaps too tight.

She didn’t care. She didn’t care. She didn’t care.

The pencil snapped in her hand, her attention only being drawn by the sound.

She tossed it to the floor with the rest of the trash, things to be picked up when she wasn’t having some outburst over something stupid. Ones that’d only seemed to become all too common as of late. Maybe it was part of being a teenager, but Jem was never like that. Jem was never like her at all.

It didn’t matter. What mattered was finishing her piece for the art festival, having hobbies, things she enjoyed, something she was sure that boy knew nothing about.

…

Maybe she was forgettable.

It seemed to be a recurring trait in her family after all. The life's work of an ancestor lost to time, along with practically his entire existence aside from a few books. Her parents, too. Not a single thing about them. She’d never asked. She’d never cared. Was that all it took? Someone who didn’t care? Someone who pushed down every question, every feeling, anything that had ever come to mind?

Someone like her?

She hated to think about it. Hated how much it burrowed under her skin and destroyed her from the inside out. It told her nothing ever mattered. All it took was someone who didn’t care, and oh, how easily that could happen. A child who couldn't remember, didn't want to learn, and had no one to tell them, even if they did.

No matter how far she climbed, the reward of a place in the endless crawl of history would always be too far from her grasp. So fickle, so easy to slip away in but a moment.

And maybe Arven had been right about that.

OOC: Not Kukki related, but still AiB related so I think it's okay if I post it here. Just a little something I drew for fun in Paint with my mouse, out of boredom, to see if my muscle memory is still good (my digital art journey as an artist actually started in MS Paint, so it was interesting to revisit it after soo many years). Ended up liking the result and I am glad I did finish it! ^^ Even if it's minimalistic, I'm still proud of it, given that I drew the sketch with my mouse (for the lineart and shell shading I used the vector line tool). So, I thought sharing it with the rest of you too. Hope ya'll like it too. ^^

Mun's Birthday!

Somehow the Mun has made it through 47 cycles of this crazy life, especially given the surprises last month had in store. Yes, I'm getting old... and no, I never grew up (much like Amon, and most of the characters I tend to write). :D

I'm still in health recovery mode (apologies for being slow to answer asks), but continuing to improve each day. Work allows us to take a holiday day for our birthday, so I'm resting up today and looking forward to a long weekend.

Sometimes sleeping in is the best party. 🎉

Cosplay efforts resume once again!

Dearest Gentle Reader,

This is to bring to your kind attention that Mun, who is currently on the verge of burning out, is preparing for the MHS Annual State Board Examination 24-25. Mun, being herself, is absolutely hopeless as a multitasker, which once was her special feature if the entire curriculum wasn't considered for one examination itself. Mun is extremely horrible at time management too, and needs to get a hang of her schedule. Mun isn't giving up roleplaying completely, and this is her short break from the adversity of stretching out between time zones to satisfy the momentary hobby. Mun also feels the need to rehab from self-deprecative tendencies such as addiction to hypercortisolism, slight anorexia as well as maladaptive daydreaming tendencies that prove lethal to her mental equilibrium.

Mun, being herself, again, is going to try to be online as much as possible because she loves her fellow roleplayers too much to abandon them even for a short while. Mun will most likely, be active in the timings: 7:00 to 8:30 PM IST / 10:30 to 11:45 PM IST. If possible for any of you fellow roleplayers, Mun would be more than happy to spend that time interacting, roleplaying and simply chatting on the server. Mun's love language is quality time too.

This routine shall go on, from: 4th February 2025 to 23rd February 2024.

Mun will particularly and strictly be inactive completely, or mostly from: 24th February 2025 to 17th March 2025.

As friends and fellow mates in this community, I hope my little time away is considered by all of you. Mun's modded accounts, listed below, will also be active or inactive, during these mentioned periods.

BIG HERO 6: THE SERIES 2.04 - Something's Fishy

She was not dealing with this. Not again.

Everything in her life had been fine until he showed up. Fine! And she wasn't going to let some reckless idiot ruin her life the way he'd eventually ruin his. People always chastised her reactions, but they could never understand, why would they?

She didn't have time to waste her energy on ensuring some stupid boy wasn't actively getting himself killed. How it angered her seeing how much he made Nemona worry. She didn't deserve to pay the price for his actions. He clearly didn't care, maybe he'd actually take a moment to self reflect if he did.

She could call him a friend, maybe, but it wasn't exactly set in stone. It wouldn't be a lie to say she'd thought about cutting him off. Save herself the trouble of worry and eventual grief.

Nemona wouldn't even be in this situation if it wasn't for him. Emmy wouldn't be locking herself in her room, waiting for her to answer her calls or her texts, worrying about where she was before she called again, sent another text, left another voicemail.

She didn't know what to do.

She did worry for him, at times. But anger and indifference often buried that deep beneath the surface. She would've grieved for this boy she hardly knew a hundred times over again if she hadn't.

She called Nemona again, no answer.

If something happened to her because of him-

A knock at her door. Her mother opened it at Emmy's quiet confirmation of permission, standing in the doorway like she was hesitant to cross into her daughter's space.

"You've been in your room all day." She said. "What's going on?"

She didn't respond at first, the silence stretching out between them.

"...It's a lot, mamá."

"A lot." She repeated. "Why don't you come out here and talk to me and your mom about it? Sitting in here by yourself won't do you any good."

No matter how many times she felt like she was simply being a bother, a part of her knew what her mother said was true.

And she couldn't exactly argue with that.

@tealbeats : I know you're not super active on Ez (and I still owe you a lot of stuff actually) but I wanna say I love the amount of his personality you're able to paint into every interaction. You have such a way of making him the perfect amount of insufferable (in the best way) while still twisting it in SUCH an endearing light. I love that annoying little bug and I'm so glad you do too, because it really shows.

@agonizedembrace : Han it's been really nice to reach out and get into contact again. You're genuinely a really funny, interesting, and thoughtful person who cares about Evelynn in such a way that brings out every aspect of her character. The agony, the sex appeal, the sass, the confidence, you just nail all of it and I'm really hoping we can get stuff going soon!

@bendwill : Elder scrolls blogs are few and far between, but Miraak is absolutely one of those characters that deserves to be more written out. We haven't gotten to do a ton but please don't hesitate to hit me up and scream ideas at me, the idea of Tamrielic Zagreus is very fascinating to me. LMAO SUGAR BABY DANNY AND SUGAR DADDY TIM WHILE IN REALITY DANNY IS THE GHOST KING AND PROBABLY WAYY RICHER THAN TIM

Danny in Alley Boyfirends is the Ghost King, but he has no money to his name. Pariah Dark was defeated by the Ancients, and in the wake of their victory, scavengers stole his once vast territories and wealth.

When Danny took the throne, nothing valuable was left in his castle. Not even furniture.

Danny has the power of the Infinite Realms and the respect of most of his citizens, but his influence is limited to cracks between realities, and most of the zone is now run by more minor independent leaders.

Despite having the crown, Danny is more like the aged wizard in the magic tower, who only interacts with his people when they come looking for him. That was why he was living so close to Crime Alley, where the landlord would randomly shut off utilities.

Things may change when he fully dies or chooses to live full-time in the Zone, though that is not something he wants to do since Danny still considers himself more human than a ghost.

Everything Tim, a rich boy from old money, does is a genuine shock to him because "What do you mean this is pocket change to you??? There are more than two zeros in that number!"

He doesn't even realize he's a sugar baby....yet.

In the Fae!Harry AU, we saw in the sorting ceremony that Harry is the only fae in his year, but I have a question: are the Potters the only fae in the magical world or are there other families like them? "Muggle-born" who are fae too? Any other characters in the saga besides James?

In his Au, other Fae are running around, but most stay away from Humans unless they want to mess with them. They have their own kingdoms, islands, and cultures. They guard their borders with wards that repeal humans. The only ones who interact with humans are the ones who seek them out.

They popped in and out of the human at random, maybe every third or fourth generation, but rarely did they set roots in the Human world.

Many centuries ago, the Potters visited the human side of their world because they thought it was funny—they liked pranks—and simply never left.

This is why Ron says, "I know I'm not supposed to call you cute," as he knows they exist at a distance. Fae is a lot like Veela; some even use Fae hair to make wands because Fae magic is powerful.

Only one other Fae family besides the Potters has attended Hogwarts for generations: the Slytherins. The founder, Salazar Slytherin, came over after a whirlwind love affair with Godric Gryffindor. Still, when their romantic feelings ended, he chose to stay because he liked the little humans with magic.

Because of him, Fae is more accepted and respected than other magical creatures. Over time, his Fae blood got lost as his descendants married humans, and eventually, the human blood took over.

Potters, on the other hand, never married humans. They often vanished after Hogwarts in the Otherworld and came back with either a spouse or their children wanting to attend Hogwarts right up until James' time.

James was the first Potter to choose a human wife, so Harry is a half-blood in more ways than one.

There have been Muggle-Born Fae, but most of them were like Harry, half-breeds who sometimes knew their Fae parents and sometimes didn't. Those kinds of fae are much rarer, and the last known fae before James and Harry was a strange kid named Tom Riddle who didn't seem to understand humans.

It was discovered he was a Fae after he graduated, which explained his brilliance, but Riddle vanished before anyone could scramble to marry him into the family.

Having a Fae bless your household usually meant the next generation would be advanced magic, some even unlocking lost bloodlines like the Blacks and their metamorphmagus. While the Potters hadn't married humans, other Fae families did, and humans wanted that powerful magic.

Rumor had it that Riddle found his Fae mother in the Otherworld and was living there now.

As of 1991, only one Fae is attending Hogwarts: Harry Potter. But there will be more Half-Faes joining him in the following years. After all, isn't it strange that Colin and Dennis turned out to have magic? Muggle-borns usually don't have magical siblings unless they have strong magic.
