Zu Christian Bauers und Daniels Antworten bei der Premiere: Für mich klingt das schon ein bisschen unterschiedlich? Bei Christian Bauer wirkt es so, als hätte Adam schon ewig den festen Plan gehabt, zurückzukommen, und hätte genau im Auge behalten, was in Saarbrücken und mit Leo gerade los ist, um die richtige Gelegenheit zu erwischen, und bei Daniel eher, als wäre das eine unbewusste, vielleicht auch spontane Entscheidung gewesen? Vielleicht interpretiere ich da auch zu viel rein. Ist die landläufige Meinung eigentlich, dass Adam sich selber verboten hat, herauszufinden, was aus Leo geworden ist, vielleicht weil es zu arg weggetan hat, und einfach irgendwann schwach geworden ist, oder wusste er immer, dass Leo Polizist geworden ist und sein Vater nie aus dem Koma aufgewacht oder gestorben ist?

Jedenfalls vieln lieben Dank für die Audiopsie und ich freu mich schon auf etwaige Sonderfolgen, die da noch kommen mögen:-)

Hi! Ja, das kann man definitiv so sehen. Gerade Daniels Reaktion von wegen "Das hab ich so aber nicht gespielt" fand ich so witzig, dass ich das unbedingt im Podcast haben wollte.

Ob es eine landläufige Meinung dazu gibt, ob Adam die ganze Zeit "tabs" on Leo hatte oder nicht, weiß ich gar nicht. Persönlich tendiere ich eher zu Ersterem. Adam wirkt auf mich, als wenn er sich absichtlich aus all dem rausgehalten hat, vielleicht in der Hoffnung, zu vergessen/verdrängen, was passiert ist (und seine Gefühle für Leo maybe hehe), aber dass er zurückgekommen ist, spricht natürlich dafür, dass es nicht geklappt hat...

i was just wondering why Mama Machwitz seems to do reasonably alright in spite of the drinking (like she cooks for nora, seems to be interested in her life and they don't seem to have any major money issues) when i read your tags. Nora ignoring the problems since she can't really do anything besides getting rid of the alcohol does make a lot of sense!

yeah I think it's a combination of Nora ignoring the problem and making it smaller than it is but also alcohol just like any addiction is very tricky and there can be days when the person seems fine and like themselves and then there are days when they're...not that. So maybe so far we've seen mama Machwitz during the time when she thinks she's handling the alcoholism and is semi-functioning.

I think Nora is in over her head in it. Like her mom is constantly going out with her friends and I think Nora knows what it means and she knows it means her mom is getting worse and she knows this will all lead into a dark place but like you said Nora can't do anything about it. She doesn't have any real support system (YET!), her sisters are moving on (not blaming them), she cannot just bring this up with her new friends, she cannot do anything so the best she can do is hide the bottles and prepare for the worst.

A pair of illustrations done a little while ago for the Lumen Éditions release of Strange the Dreamer. Written by New York Times bestselling author Laini Taylor, Strange the Dreamer is an epic fantasy about a young librarian, a mythic lost city, and the half-human children of murdered gods. While ultimately the illustrations were used for promotional material rather than the cover artwork, it was still a joy to be a part of the French edition release. The audiobook was my soundtrack while painting Lazlo and Sarai, and I was mesmerised by the dark beauty of their world!
