YUUMORI MUSICAL OP. 1

SHERLIAM FIRST MEETING

I really loved the musical, because it adds a lot to the story and they show the character’s feelings more openly. So obviously, sherliam first meeting makes them look like they are about to kiss (and Louis was standing there, for some reason???? LOL)

It starts with Sherlock making his deduction of William in a song, and then William follows with his own. I loved how they efusively walked around each other while doing so, as if they were birds in a mating dance.

William doesn’t hide how much fun he’s having there, and Sherlock is speechless. I think they told Sherlock’s actor “this is the moment when Sherlock falls in love” because he then shows this face:

At least manga!Sherlock hid it better in that moment.

Liam looks so flustered ❤

And the scene doesn’t end there like the manga, it continues with Sherlock immediately getting excited, explaining that he’s there to solve a mystery about a secret room in that ship, and prattles about it to William.

He even tries to convince him to join him and give him his opinion.

This is my absolute favorite part:

He’s there following William’s eyes and waiting for his response like a besotted idiot. Someone help him, please, he’s so gone 😭

And of course, this is the moment where William decides to play hard to get.

Poor Sherly 😭😂

At least he kept him a little longer with a song about the suspicious things he noticed around him so far. Then they had to say their goodbyes.

Durham Date - Morimyu Op3

Moriarty the Patriot Musical op3 fanart set for Round-a-bout Rondo song part, translation from kanasmusings subs.

Do I need to say that I loved this part in op3? Well I wouldn't spend last 3 weeks on drawing this if that wasn't case. I was grinning like crazy and was amazed they did something like this when I saw it for the first time. Sherlock and William dancing apart yet together and singing this. While Sherlock is kinda pissed off because Lord of Crime was using him again for his plans he is still drawn to him. We knew how much he fell for his Liam in manga and now in morimu.

And William, oh William, while in manga Sherlock was important to him thought the story, we only know extent of it after his letter. And here strikes morimu that shows us William falling in love and showing how hard he also fell.

So for this fanart set I was going to make two pages like you see Sherlock dancing with imaginary William, William with imaginary Sherlock, and the 3rd one of the end of the song like they are dancing together.

In middle of song there is pause to show scene like Sherlock is like a puppet on Lord of Crime's strings I wanted to include that.

But if you think about it they both are on strings, even if Sherlock and William might not understand it or see it, Liam is on Sherly's strings too, strings of affection. While William doesn't let those strings to win over the Plan, he's still bound by them, just as much as Sherlock is bound by William.

For the first idea to draw I thought it would be cool, creepy and maybe little into horror if behind William his strings were getting cut by England people and Moriarty gang to illustrate "the Plan". If someone likes, you can use this idea, because for this set it didn't fit in the end (and it would take me probably another 2 weeks to do)

So there is no need to say that Sherlock strings are blue and William are red and with light of their colors falling on both of them I wanted to show their influence on each other too.

After this long story, I hope you will like it. I wanna do beach fanart next, but probably next month. For now I wanna finish other Moriarty stuff I have started and that beach fanart will probably take me some time too (damn coloring) and I'm yet decided if go for easy version with Liam, Sherly, Albert and Louis only or try to include more characters and this will be hard version that will took longer :/

AGAIN, WISDOM SAGA SPOILERS SO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. ALSO MAYBE A TRIGGER WARNING FOR LOVE IN PARADISE CAUSE THAT WAS MORE THAN I WAS FUCKING EXPECTING.

THIS IS SHERLOCK AND BILL'S FUCKING SAGA NOW BITCHES BROS AND NON-BINARY HOES. AND AGAIN, I'M FANGIRLING AS I GO.

So, with where we left off, William's having a minor relapse in his mental state but it won't become too much of a plot point/serious thing. He and Moran are on funky terms but if there is no "reconciliation" in later sagas then We'll figure that out when we get there. Anyway, this saga ain't about him.

Anyway, lets get started.

The Wisdom Saga:

Legendary - BILL IS HERE FUCKERS. SHERLIAM'S ADPOTED SON IS GONNA BE LEGENDARY. I really like how this parallels with Canon when Bill only knew William as a genius professor and Sherlock's actually the one who introduces them in a way. It'll set up nicely for when we get to "I can't help but wonder" and Telemachus/Bill has to toss up with the fact that his Dad just removed the twenty year problem but he did also kill a bunch of people (you know, like in canon.). So this starts out with the lights slowly coming in and Bill's "room" has a chair and a few other easily moveable props. This is a very dancey number I'm finding so these props are probably gonna get taken off stage so there can be actors milling around for Telemachus to interact with, I think he'd be mostly weaving between them trying to avoid them while they keep swiping at him. The majority of suitors can be off the stage but Antinous and a few others are up there ready for the "Whatcha gonna do about it, champ?" The lights would change on Boy to a red colour. It would be so cute seeing Billy fight for Sherlock's Honour. I think something really cool that could happen is when Telemachus sings "somebody help me" the lights flash blue for a second like Athena has heard his plea. and at the very end of the song, he punches Milverton square on the nose (in the fake way of course).

Little Wolf - My big idea for this that would absolutely not transfer over to a regular production of Epic the musical would be that Antinous/Milverton is not the one fighting Telemachus/Bill. I cannot really see Milverton fighting for himself and would definitely have lackey's doing it for him; but outside of this AU Antinous absolutely fights for himself. But yeah, Milverton mocks the shit out of Bill while he's fighting somebody. The lights stay red while the suitors and Milverton are doing their thing. When Athena appears the lights turn blue like fighting of the panic of being in a fight. I think this is one of those moments where its so fun having Sherlock as Athena and Penelope cause it's like "Don't worry baby, Mama's here to help." But, onto the super cool crossover intertexuality talk I can't seem to do right now, Sherlock as Athena fits very nicely cause he, alongside William, helps Bill get into the university; so Sherlock being the one helping in this fight reminds me of that. And Athena's "I've no respect for bullies" reminds me of his disdain for Milverton and his methods of blackmail. ALSO, HER PIANO IN THAT PART IS SO FUCKING GOOD I FUCKING ASCENDED. PAIRING IT WITHT HE DRUMS THAT WAY, WHO DOES JORGE THINK HE IS. In a way, this is like showing how Penelope would like to react to her suitors beating up her son (it just popped into my head but kind of like a batman meme, Penelope dressing up as the goddess of wisdom to fuck up her son's bullies). Athena's whole solo there sounds a lot like Sherlock when he was talking to Irene. And when the fight ends and Antinous says Penelope needs to pick a suitor, Athena/Sherlock is very disturbed before he helps Bill up.

We'll be Fine - The thing I love the absolute most about this musical is exploring Sherlock's side of this whole fiasco they were in and giving him a chance to vent some of this frustrations. Because it wasn't easy on him either and he might blame himself a little bit for not being able to help more. Bill knows a little bit about it from gossip and rumour and being a part of the Epic cast for a little while, not too much but between the two of them, Bill understands that Sherlock is letting out a bit of his frustration with the previous problem and the repeat that seems to be occurring, because he's super smart like that (I say seems because in real life, it won't last that long and William is probably gonna be ok and reconciled with Moran by the time we get there. It'll hopefully make sense once we get to the next saga but I just can't keep knocking this dude over he needs to start healing and giving him a less self-jeopardising problem to fight). Even though he and William have worked through a fair bit of what happened and their still going really strong, Sherlock is still worried. Sherlock's super soft on Bill because he's so similar to William. Bill, while sticking to the script, is just subtly reassuring him that it's ok, they'll get through this rough patch and they'll be fine. Sherlock doesn't need to be the first responder. A little bit of it probably comes out as Bill saying "William wouldn't want you to beat yourself up over this," especially when he mentions Athena's friend (William and Bill are also probably really close friends at this point, don't tell me William wouldn't take him under his wing immediately after they're introduced). When Athena calls him a good kid, Sherlock ruffles his hair and then Bill makes a move like someone's calling him and runs off, leaving him for the next part.

Good news friends! Morimu is now, until September 30th, available on some Japanese streaming services, and one of them, DMM TV, allows foreign credit cards *everyone cheers*. The bad news is you're gonna need a very good vpn and it’s without subtitles.

Recommendations:

DMM TV has a free trial of 30 days. I recommend creating an account after July 29th because is when all the Ops will be available to watch because they are uploading one Op per week.

About the subtitles… Well… I think you can watch Morimu without subtitles and still enjoy it. My first time watching Morimu was without subtitles, and I still understood (mostly) because the dialogue is nothing we haven't read in the manga. There are some changes or additions, but not many because Morimu has tried to stay as faithful to the manga as possible. Also there are people who are translating the songs so there are alternative options.

About the vpn… I found a vpn that gives you a free trial of 7 days through Android. It works well, and you can use those 7 free days on any device. That’s another reason why I recommend watching Morimu when all the Ops are available.

Edit 29/07: Important update. Currently, the VPN is not working, which is strange because two weeks ago it was. I'm trying to look for alternative options. If it's working for you, please let me know 🙏🙏

I've recently joined the YuuMori fandom after watching the anime and so far some of the Musicals with a friend who's been in love it for over a year. Ngl I fell into the rabithole of YuuMori as well, been listening to the musicals non-stop, and already bought vol 1-10 of the manga.

So I have been collecting the blu-rays, which is a very expensive approach to say the least.

That's mostly because I haven't been able to find them either (admittedly, I don't think I was looking hard enough; There are copyright restrictions on YT, so I would suggest checking websites like Vimeo or Daily Motion)

That said, Kanasmusings has the scripts for all five musicals translated!

I watched Musicals of Moriarty (Op1-3) and those were amazing, everything I wished anime had in matter of plot and characters was there. And no I don’t mean Truck of the sherliam that Musicals have (it’s nice add and I love it, but if they didn’t go so hard for it I would be still happy) because it had what I think was important in manga, small details of story and characters that made me love Moriarty so much now. Like the matter of taxes in Durham and how William fixed it right away to help poor, overworked people living there. I really don’t like how anime makes him for first few episodes “the devil” who only whispers on others ears and pushes them to kill and he himself doesn’t dirty his hands. He always put himself on the first line of his plans, like with “Kidnapping of noble” chapter, he kills Albert’s brother on his own etc. Like how Baskerville arc was SO important for Louis, Fred and Moran characters. Like in anime because of lack of it you can change those three to any other characters and it wouldn’t matter. Miss Hutson is amazing in musicals, gosh, poor women, how she didn’t get a stroke or heart attack yet I don’t know XD and musical doesn’t skip on that scene between her and Irene with dress that I found quite funny when I first read it in manga and thought this adds a lot to both women characters. 

You know you did wrong when your anime has less action scenes then musical... Like really, the person who did script for anime did so many strange changes to plot and cut so many important ones while adding own one it's crazy and I have no idea why it happened.

As for character, the best from the start was Sherlock for me, he’s amazing.  I think Liam's one was little too stiff and not enough emotional in Op1-2 but in Op3 he finally is perfect Liam, smiling, hurting, sassy and I think his vocal got better. As for other characters they were amazing too. I only couldn’t get used to William and Albert but only because their anime saiyuus did so amazing job. Louis had the best vocal at the start I think. From songs I think the middle one in Op2 made most impression for me, I need to rewatch it and remember names of songs for future. The “Catch me if you can” scene in the musical was the only one weaker I think in compare to anime and manga, but when at the end of Op2 they come back to theme “Catch me” it did earned a few points back in my eyes. And wow Op3 songs were so much longing of William and Sherlock to each other it’s just wow, I didn’t think they will go so hard for it and I’m not complaining. I guess Op4 focuses more on Whiteley and John&Mary arcs so probably there is not so much sharliam there, but if Op3 was like this then I can image how hard they will go with William visit at Sherlock’s place, letter and bridge scene. And I will only need Op6 with hospital and marriage vows to die happy XD.

ps. If anyone knows if it’s possible to pay and see Op4 somewhere online, please let me know. Buying stuff from Japan is always very expensive for me because of shipping cost, if I can avoid it the I would gladly watch it this way.
