Ok, clearly I'm in a mood because ANGST AGAIN

I've had a sherliam music video playing in my head (with images both from the anime and entirely invented) to "Find A Way" by The Used (YouTube)

The thing is, this video is very much edited to imply that they are in the process of drowning and won't live at the end.

It flashes between their canon interactions (including never-animated canon interactions like the Durham Date), the view from inside the Thames, various sparking water/water near fire images?

It never shows the fall, or any fighting, or a hope bird, or anything. Just water and fire and maybe sky: visuals of vast elemental openness contrasted with flashbacked sherliam moments.

My tenure at YNM was ephemeral.

I shared cherished memories with YNM, and I was always flattered to receive YNM's invitation for each and every event. The crux of the matter is that I am unworthy of such an honor. The persistent sentiment of having deserted them during the most susceptible phase of growth plagues me every time I repose.

I long for them all. Anh Minh, Anh Hiếu GB, Việt Trần, Nguyệt, Dawn, Thanh Huyền, Bích Ngọc, Minh Nguyễn, Quang Khôi, Thu Thủy, Minh Anh, Thu Phương, Dô, Kiều Anh, Thanh Hải, Huệ Thủy, Thu Hằng, Trường Nguyễn, Ngọc Lee, Việt Lương, and numerous other (ex-)members whom I hold dear. I am genuinely remorseful for the damage I have inflicted.

I implore you to understand that my allegiance to YNM remains steadfast with each progression YNM undertake. I yearn to meet them and embrace each one. Now that we have all embarked on our separate paths and achieved success in our respective careers, it may be arduous for a reunion to happen. But, if a genie were to grant me a wish, I would desire to return and collaborate with YNM once again, under one roof.

So far I think the anime and manga for yuukoku no moriarty are really similar! i don't feel like anything was really left out. the manga does have some extra stuff, but i think the anime got some ova's or something, but i haven't been able to get my hands on them yet.

death note is a good anime though i think! there's a reason its a cliche😂yoi was good too, otabek definitely stole my heart though

i am actually fairly new to anime. like i've always been aware of it, i was (still am) a huge geek in public school, so i had heard about naruto and sailor moon back in the early 2010s, but i had no way of watching it myself. my partner is also really into anime, so i've been in the same room when they've watched things, but i didn't personally get into it until a little over a year ago! it was with boku no hero, so that's probably more cliche than death note at this point😂😭

The question for this week is a little more involved, you probably need time to think, so I'm definitely not expecting an answer any time soon. i'd rather you take your time and really think about it if you need to since this will probably heavily influence what i make for you and i want to make sure that you've picked something you really like

hello my dear ASS 🥰 ahh sorry again for the late reply! work has been super hectic but thankfully the worst is now behind me! not to jinx it lol but i should have a bit more free time now. it's my first time participating as well so i'm not sure either but jic i'll try to reply a bit more quickly from now on!

oh i’m glad to hear the ynm anime is really similar to the manga! i was debating whether to read it first but i might start out watching the anime and then see how it goes. and right!! otabek is such a sweetheart, i love how at first he seems so stoic and closed off but he has a whole other side of him as well 🥺

oooh bnha is a great starter anime tho! it's one of the first ones i watched as well! same here tho, i've always been sort of aware of anime i just didn't get into it until fairly recently. aww that's sweet that your partner is into anime too! it's like a whole different world at first i think, so it definitely helps when someone you know is also really into it so you can navigate it together lol, so it's nice you can both share that! 💕

6) Do you have a character you dislike at first but grew on you along with the development of the series?

Hmmm. I can't actually think of this happening to anyone in ynm. Louis was not my fave immediately but I certainly didn't dislike him, I just think that reading the manga better developed his character and pushed him over Albert for me -- those two were relatively tied for my attention before I finally read the manga.

There are characters I may overlooked a little more than I should have (Fred) that I now have strong head canons (read: deranged, absolutely untrue thoughts) about...

Maybe Mary? Mostly because I was sorta shipping Johnlock at that point and felt betrayed by her presence in the story and very much supported Sherlock's careful examination of her intentions? [I really should do more with yuumori johnlock -- i know its because our source material has such strong sherliam connotations but it is still SO FUNNY to me that THE Sherlock Holmes ship is considered a rarepair here]

16) What is your favorite song or soundtrack (from the anime or musicals)?

I unfortunately haven't seen the musicals yet, so I'm going to be choosing off the anime soundtrack (although El and others have shown me some songs from them and they are WONDEFUL, and I'm excited to see it at some point).

That being said.. Twisted Hearts. When I was first watching Dying Wish was SO much my favorite and I was salty at Twisted Hearts the like first 3 times I heard it for not being Dying Wish but it really really grew on me. I can't help but love it.

But all his music is just gorgeous. I ended up buying both EPs and REAL because I loved both OPs for the moriani so much, and honestly it is all a treat.

26) If [character] turns into an animal, what animal do you think she/he will be?

Hmmm I was told to choose the character and so in celebration of finally rolling him in mudae just now after months of attempting, I'll choose Albert.

So hear me out.

I think Albert is a bird with clipped wings. Now... there are a lot of kinds of birds to choose from. I don't think he's a pigeon actually, even though that may have narrative significance [imagine a homing pigeon who can't fly very far], or most common birds to clip -- like ducks, chickens, geese, or parrots and cockatoos.

I think he's something magestic, but not exotic. Perhaps a falcon? Of course a falcon wouldn't have its wings clipped by a competent falconer, but perhaps that's the irony of it? I'll go with that.

Albert just feels sad to me like that. I love him dearly, but he has that impending tragedy in his nature [and what I put him through in fic does not help].
